Ibime: Go and watch Oliseh videos he regularly uploads to YouTube. Oliseh hasn't painted or upgraded that house or that room he streams from in decades.
You think Oliseh does not/did not have $1m
First, as a footballer, your house will be worth $1m. Even if you downgrade, you go downgrade to $500k, then only $500k will be generating income for you.
I'm sure Oliseh house is worth $1m easy, at worst $500k but he doesn't have much else to generate income for him. Na abroad trenches be that. If Oliseh in his $1m house, lives in trenches then where do you, Raumdeuter and other billionaires live? |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by airmark(m): 8:38pm On Aug 25, 2025 |
swiz123: Naira hasn’t become that bad na. 10M is a lot of money if earned monthly. 2 to 3 million can feed a family of 20 monthly. A bag of rice currently is 60k, 100 tubers of yam in the north should be around 150k. Additional 150k buy 2 bags of sweet potatoes, 100k for 100kg bag of iron beans. 1kg of beef is around 6k, certainly less in the north. A little above 1M could even feed everyone fat. Additional 2 million for general welfare.
These wives will also have their own business set up for them. There is absolutely no way that someone who makes 10M monthly will live like a broke person. People exaggerate a lot and i reconfirmed this during my last visit. How many people in Nigeria collect 10m monthly in Nigeria, to start with? Most footballers i know don't blow money anyhow after retirement as most become family men and not out there as their new status is devoid of constant escapades that gulp a lot and many mistake it for living in trenches. If Societe Generale Bank didn't run into problems, how many would have known that Okocha fixed that huge amount? Once you play professional football and win a Burndisleaguedown title like Boniface and you later find yourself in Okokomaiko complaining about hardship, they need to offer you to Fenibeso as sacrifice. |

raumdeuter: No be so oh. People go still ganusi at every level. Mikel don retire when dem still dey run am kidnaping street. Didnt he say on his podcast that he was still expected to pay his Brother in laws medical bills. You probably wake up to 5 request daily from family people, Emenike even as he don retire will be waking up to 50 daily
How do you arrive at $50k dividend monthly post retirement, how much do you need to invest to guarantee that? I has this coversation with my financial adviser last week and he told me if you are not up to 65 the retirement age you will still be getting taxed heavily
An example of a stable low volatility, steady dividend and broad diversification ETF that you can plan retirement on is VYM it gives around 3% returns per year
$50k returns a month pre tax is $600K per year, How much do you need to invest cash to get $600k guaranteed a year at 3% returns. That is $20M cash
Now that $50k after tax in a state like California gives you like $25k per month
So if you really want $50k after tax every month you need to double all that numbers above.
Now the question is how many footballers have $50m cash untouched to put in the market Ask your stockbroker in Naija about FGN Savings Bonds he will educate and guide you and you will understand that knowledge is power, and stop following Ibime in ignorantly shouting MMM up and down. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by airmark(m): 5:43pm On Aug 25, 2025 |
swiz123: Most footballers are not well attuned to investment. There are relatively safe investments that can guarantee an ex footballer a decent life. Ahmed Musa’s 20 unit terrace estate in Lekki if rented out at an average of 6M rakes in 120M yearly. He can live well with 120M yearly if he lives prudently.
He could as well live in Kano and establish a 1000 cow capacity ranch and dedicate years to building it. Omoo!! I can have millions in Dollars and be thinking of going broke. Most of them are illiterates but financial advisors do contact them but they would rather prefer to see their money resting in their bank accounts for assurance. If i have $1m today i can never go broke or live in the trenches like Ibime erroneously believes. |

raumdeuter: You are also not a celebrity. You can enter any where in Nigeria and no one will recognize you, You don't have to spend anything on security. You can enter Quilox and order 1 Asun/Azul in peace while Taye Taiwo must declare 10 bottles at least, Your family wont be taxing you at the rate of these footballers, they wont be faking kidnap to swerve you. See stories of Adebayor, Pogba brothers, Mikel family etc
I can understand why some of these players go broke after their career, 50yrs post retirement is a very long time to depend on income made before age 35 Once you retire the demands reduce unless it's self-induced. The way people will rush Osimhen, is not the way they will rush Emenike. Many will even see you as 'old taker' and just wave. If you are receiving dividends of $50,000 monthly post-retirement and you are still hungry or groaning in the trenches, then you need spiritual deliverance. |

Ibime: Trenches abroad is not like trenches in Nigeria.
What will N1bln do for you abroad
All those Sunday Oliseh, Babayaro etc are in trenches abroad as we speak
If Boniface career quench after his current Leverkusen contract he will have an upper middle class lifestyle abroad..If he does footballer expenses on that same earnings he will end up in abroad trenches like Oliseh them. He can never return to Nigerian trenches like Babangida, Oruma, Rufa and Yekini them Any retired Nigerian footballer with even $1m should contact Raumdeuter for financial advice and he won't live in trenches in the USA for the rest of his life. Boniface won't tell anyone that he can't raise even $1m as we speak. There are retired people living fine in highbrow areas and their monthly earnings are lesser than $50k. 5% of $1m = $50,000 It's down to strategic financial planning. When i make better money i will start hyping Boathand and Fraudiola and ask Raumdeuter to send me the 'expo'. Meanwhile, Yekini had mental problem but he was living at Oluyole industrial estate before he died. He was living where the big guns in Ibadan were living back then, he wasn't in trenches o. |

For individuals too. They can search using their given names. Yeah. However, via EDMMS, I did for my oldman for his unclaimed dividends and got email notifications that the e-dividend mandate requests were under processing. After 2 months, only few out of like 40+ companies have paid his unclaimed dividends. Only Meristem, First Registrars, Cardinalstone effected payment. Thunder fire Atlas and co.

Odunharry: On the portal. For each shares, you will see the registrar for that particular company. Take down the names of those registrars and contact them via email or phone. Approach a stockbroking firm and a stockbroking account will be opened for him(Estate of NAME OF DAD). You will need to get some documents like death certificate, newspaper publication, the company will also do their own search and you pay a certain amount depending on the stockbroker, court documents, letter of admin and his bank account needs to be converted to an estate account also.
Once you have all the requirements requested to you are good.
Those shares will be dematerialised ie converted to a e-copy since many people then have physical certificates. They can also carry out another service to track if there are other shares he bought in his name then(it's called Global search).
Your stockbroker will also liaise with the registrars once account is opened and documents is in place. The last part is for the registrars to credit your late Dad CSCS Account with those shares and start paying unclaimed dividends as long they are satisfied with documents provided Kudos. |
