You've done your homework. If you can prove that your job description is that of an Electrical Engineering, go for it. Mind you, letter of appointment, promotion letters, reference letter etc. are required to prove this. Also, EA may or may not contact your employer to verify accordingly. Let me add that the fact that you work on the ship as an engineer makes you a SHIP engineer and not an Electrical Engineer. I may be wrong tho. I'll advice you contact EA via msa @ engineers Australia. org. au for further clarification. Other experts should advice @bellong @tunlex01 Gidobaba: Thanks for your response. I'm an Engineer on the ship and I checked the list and found "Ship's Engineer" with the code 231212. However it shows I'm only eligible for visa class 482, 187, 494.
Basically my job on the ship is Electrical/Electronic Engineering. When I put Electrical Engineering on the ANZSCO i found out that I'm eligible for all visa classes.
What do you advise? |

I asked for your BSc info to know whether it will be applicable for your occupation. If it was, you will be able to gain more points from your years of experience. In this case, your BSc is not applicable.
You can use your Masters alone to assess with VETASSESS. However, your 6 years of experience will be reduce to < 2 years (i.e. No points for experience), counting from the day you completed your Masters degree.
Please find the answers to the questions you asked me.
Masters degree graduation year = 2018 ( 2011 - 2013)
Bachelors = Agricultural Economics. Lautech. ( 5 years)
But i don't use want to use my bachelors degree. Is it okay to just submit the masters?

Can't find Seafarer on ANZSCO list. I'll advice you go though the list and check if any occupation is related to what you do. If your occupation or closely related occupation is not on ANZSCO list, there's no way you can do assessment and subsequently, you'll have to look for other means of migration. Gidobaba: Mabinu someone should help me analyze this. |

I checked the website and found the "agent" Mara number. I search for both the name and number on MARA official website. It came up with nothing. Also, the website look suspicious to begin with. Like @tunlex01 suggested, I want to share this news with you guys also. We submitted only HND certificate and transcript from Lagos State Polytechnic. It was assessed as comparable to the educational level of an AQF Advanced Diploma. We did not declare nor submit anything for ND. |

I don't think you can assess for an Actuary. For you to get a positive response from vetassess, you must have between 1 - 3 years experience in the last 3 years as an Actuary. How many years of experience do you have as an Investment Analyst? DOMAIM: thanks ajayidebo. i am an investment analyst with most of the jd you stated. please how do i know if their is a licence for actuary. |

I didn't really look at it from this perspective. I've done the needful. Thanks a lot tunlex01: Adding BSc will only make you lose point. If other assessing body will overlook it (very unlikely), Vetassess will never. Only experience after the BSc will be counted. Moreso, the point for your Bsc and HND is the same 10 points. So why lose points when you can gain more? |

Chief.. I can instruct Vetassess not to assess my ND tho. I know someone that did that recently. Unless the HND alone will not be enough for a positive assessment of my qualification. bellong: VETASSES will ask for it if you don't send it. You need to make effort to get it sent. |

Are you sure? The educational requirement is ND - skill level 3. I was thinking since HND was obtained before working experience, the BSc will just be used to gather more points. tunlex01: I'll suggest you submit only the HND if you want to claim at least 5 points in Experience. There is no need submitting the BSc since it was awarded just last year. You will lose experience point submitting the BSc to Vetassess |

Thank you for your response. I don't use ANZSCO alone as yardstick. I access the migrating states for updates as well. As it is, Tasmania is accepting nomination for 190 on Insurance Agent/Broker. But with condition of staying over for 2 years and a minimum bench mark of 65. Not sure I will want that. As you pointed out, I'm hoping others will open up come Nov 16th. By that time, I should have gotten position responses from Vetassess. (fingers crossed) tunlex01: I understand what he's saying. The occupation was nominated in July by SA and few other states for 489. Due to the closure of 489, it turned red. Currently, Anzsco can't be used as yardstick to process assessment as most occupations are currently not available due to end of 489. As long as the occupations were available prior to now for nomination, there is a high probability that those occupations will be available by November 16. Cc @ajayidebo |

My two cents is for you to search for your occupation using ( https://www.anzscosearch.com/search/ ) What should be best fit for you is; 225311: Public Relations Professional You need to go through the job description as well as the educational qualification requirements. Once you've determined that the job description fits, further information on how to proceed is on the first page of this thread. P.S. From my little findings, Australian Capital Territory and New South Wales are actively selecting applications. Raymum: Seniors in the house, I pay homage and salute everyone.
Please, I have few questions and would greatly appreciate any clarification on them.
I have: B.Sc Political Science (2008) M.Sc Political Science (2012) and have worked as a Public Relations Officer from 2009-2019) My Questions 1. Has anyone here gotten a positive assessment from VETASSESS using Public Relations Officer? 2. Do I have any chance with my qualifications and employment? Please someone should assist me with best way forward.
Thank you all. |

Mr. Bellong. Thank you for your usual help, it is well appreciated. Quick one. As I mentioned earlier, the required qualification for Insurance Broker (my profession is Skill level 2 = HND). I listed both my Insurance ND and HND on vetassess application. But you know Nigeria factor with getting Transcript out. I was able to get my HND transcript from my school after 4 months with connections and all. I know people that is still expecting theirs since January. My HND transcript was picked by courier service two days ago 02/10/2019. As it is, I have no idea when the ND transcript will get out. My question is, from your experience, is my HND alone enough or I have to assess my ND as well. Thank you bellong: @ajayidebo,
The professional qualification will not add any point. Your HND and BSc are enough. |

I did. SA requires high points of 85 for the 190 visa. We are looking at 85 - 90 points overall. I am also doing the assessment. Please don't forget my initial question. "My question is since the minimum required for her level is ND.. I'm thinking transcripts for HND and BSc should be enough to save cost. I just want to know if there is any advantage to adding the ACIIN professional qualifications as well?" bellong: Did you read the comment in the screenshot you provided?
