Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka says he will cut his green card and leave the United States if Donald Trump wins the presidential election, according to a report by The Guardian. The report said Soyinka, a scholar-in-residence at New York University’s Institute of American Affairs, disclosed the plan in a speech to Oxford students.

“If in the unlikely event he does win, the first thing he’ll do is to say [that] all green-card holders must reapply to come back into the US. Well, I’m not waiting for that,” said Soyinka, who is scholar-in-residence at New York University’s Institute of African American Affairs this autumn. “The moment they announce his victory, I will cut my green card myself and start packing up.”

The Nigerian playwright and poet, who was imprisoned in Nigeria during its civil war, later fleeing the country and receiving a death sentence in absentia, urged young people to stand up against oppression.

Giving a seminar to students at Oxford University, he also laid into Brexit, saying it was a “ridiculous decision”, and part of an international rise in what he called “ultranationalism”.

“What is happening in Europe shouldn’t surprise any of us … It has happened before,” he said. “We were here when Enoch Powell was leading his thugs out to drive blacks from here … it’s a constant fight to try to get a nation to recognise its own noble persuasions, its own persuasions of the loftiness of human possibility. It’s for young people like you to say no to them whenever that happens.”

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting Niger Delta leaders and stakeholders at the State House. Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, Governors, Ministers and security chiefs were also in attendance at the event which is taking place in the afternoon of November 1, 2016.

The details of the meeting are currently sketchy.

This is part of the peace process in the South-south part of Nigeria as the conflicts have vehemently sabotaged the Nigerian economy which is heavily dependent on oil.

I felt she is just trying to monopolize blogging and having all the exclusives. Have you read the part where she says all exclusives will be paid 1k per story? I was like, this lady wan kill bloggers career. I also want to suggest her IT team needs to be on their toes now... Nigerians, hackers, Africans will want to test their prowness... They cant hack her all these years cos she was under google, now that she is alone... hmmm, I hope they caan stand the heat and she sabi look for trouble.

If you read the post very well, it says, A Nigerian uploaded the video which was released by the police. The police were able to trail these guys and confirmed that they were Nigerians. The guy that uploaded the video too was a Nigerian. So what's the racist here? Should we cover up and lie that it never happened?

A video was uploaded by a Nigerian who lives in UAE, The video shows three guys robbing a supermarket in Deira, Dubai.

The three unidentified men entered the shop pretending to buy items. They waited for other customers to leave the premises before bringing out machetes and demanding money from the shopkeepers.
Dubia police were alerted about the crime. They stormed the building were the boys live and arrested every black male found in the vicinity.

The CCTV footage of the robbery was released by police after the culprits were caught.

The Nigerian guy who uploaded the video on YouTube said he spent 3 days in police custody before he was released. He was among the black Africans found in the building that was raided by police.

Parents of Queens College Lagos students are made to cough out extra monies outside monies paid to TSA account covering school fees.

Without prior notice we are made to pay N11,000 more into a “Donor Account” after N12,000 books deposit to the TSA account, this payment is not receipted and from history most of the books issued to the students are irrelevant to the curriculum.

The school authority also reject payments made to the TSA account if insurance which is optional is not paid for.

The PTA of Queens College Lagos refused to inform Parents to pay only N5,000 as PTA dues as directed by the fme, they gave out a bill of N8,250 and an additional N4,500 (see attached bills) before d fme pronouncement and insist those amounts be paid.

Parents are groaning under this pain and tempers are flaring. We need the Ministry Of Education to clarify on these issues.

President Muhammadu Buhari may approve the appointment of hundreds of APC Stalwarts and Members, across the 36 States and FCT, to about 5000 Board appointments of about 500 Federal Boards of Agencies and Commissions next week Tuesday, said sources at the office of the Secretary of the Government of the Federation.

Most of the Board positions are currently dominated by Card Carrying members of the People's Democratic Party PDP appointed by former President Goodluck Jonathan.

During an address at the United Nations General Assembly, President Barack Obama stated that only by giving in to a one-word government can every nation in the world successfully fight radical Islamic terrorism.In what will likely be his last speech before the body, Obama told the audience that he believes global security can only be achieved with the help of international institutions like the UN.

Not only that, but that only by acquiescing our rights – our “freedom of action,” as he puts it – will we truly “enhance our security.”

Obama said “powerful nations” like the United States will have to accept constraints and give up some of their freedoms. The president acknowledged that he has been criticized by his own citizens for this belief but he remains convinced he is right. Obama also stated that while countries will have to accept some limits on their freedom, they should not give up autonomous rights like the freedom to defend themselves.

According to reports from University of Abuja teaching hospital,

Employees of the University Teaching Hospital Abuja protesting over allegations that some leaders purchased a section of the hospital for their own private services. They were were also protesting over promises from the Federal Ministry of Health to renovate and upgrade some depleted area in the hospital as the trauma centre is said to be congested and too small to contain patients..
