The roof of the main surgical ward which contains the obstetrics and gynecology ward at the Effia Nkwanta Hospital, Ghana has caved in during surgery. The surgery which was being undertaken on three pregnant patients had to be halted when the unfortunate incident occurred.

Doctors had to transfer the patients to the Kwesi Mintim Hospital for the process to continue. One of them died and some have attributed her death to the incident. But the Medical Director of hospital, Dr Kwau Ntodi denied this. He said the lady could have died even if the incident had not occurred because she had a ruptured uterus. Her death, therefore, he said, could not have been as a result of the movement from the hospital to another.

The medical officer who attended to the lady upon arrival at the Kwesi Mintim hospital said that the baby had already died before they arrived at the hospital. The other two patients are in good condition.

Its hard these days to see a child as good as this, in these days where every child wants to be a rock stay, a dancer and dancing Shoki as if their lives depend on it. this boy has set a precedent for himself and I just can't imagine. This is a video from a little boy of age with 3-5years, his name is Kamson David, He talked about who should be held responsible for corruption in Nigeria.. The boy is really smart and intelligent, I don't think he crammed all what he said cos he demonstrated them so well that you can relate and connect with him... God bless you boy.

PoliticsSecurity: Ambode Receives N10M Donation From Lebanese Community by AjayiWrites(op): 10:23am On Jun 24, 2016
Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on Thursday received a donation of N10 million from the Lebanese Nigerian Initiative (LNI) for the State Security Trust Fund, charging the body to continue to do more for the State.

The Governor, who spoke at the Lagos House, Ikeja when he received the Chairman and the directors of the LNI through the Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tunji Bello thanked the group for the initiative, adding that a lot could still be done for the State in that regard.

“Particularly in the field of security, there is still a lot you can still do for us. Without the efforts of people like you and others in the past, Lagos would not have been where it is today in terms of maintenance of peace and security”, he said.

The Governor added that with the business pedigree of each of the members of the LNI, the present administration is deeply appreciative of their contribution which, according to him, is a good initiative.

He said the issue of security cannot be left alone for government to handle and that this was one of the reasons that informed the clarion call to members of the organized private sector to join the State Government in ensuring that the people can sleep with their two eyes closed.

PoliticsFayose: Sahara Group Denies Involvement In Political Donations by AjayiWrites(op): 5:30pm On Jun 23, 2016
Read the press statement below...

Our attention has been drawn to online media reports sourced from a Press Statement credited to the Ekiti State Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Ayodele Fayose.

We are particularly disturbed by a portion of the statement that made a misleading and incorrect link between Sahara Energy and election donations: “Most importantly, Nigerians are interested in the $60 million allegedly donated to the APC campaign by Sahara Energy, on which EFCC has been forced to suspend investigation.”

We would like to state for the record that Sahara Energy has never pledged funds/support nor made any donation to any political organisation/group. Neither has Sahara – under any guise - given funds to promote political causes of individual(s) or group(s).

In fact, Sahara is guided by a robust and well-documented donations policy that clearly states that: “THE COMPANY DOES NOT MAKE POLITICAL DONATIONS; NEITHER DOES IT SPONSOR POLITICAL EVENTS ON BEHALF OF ANY POLITICAL ASSOCIATION.”

We are, for the benefit of our stakeholders and partners across the globe, duty-bound to set the record straight in the light of recent comments in the public space that falsely link Sahara with political donations.

We urge members of the public to disregard this false allegation.

We remain committed to the principles of good governance, best practice and service excellence that have successfully driven the Sahara Brand these past 20 years.

For the first time since he left the EME label, Skales will be collaborating with his former mentor/boss Banky W on his highly anticipated sophomore album.

Moments ago, the singer shared a photo of himself and the EME boss looking super dapper in colourful outfits as they posed in front of two Mercedez Benz vehicles. The photo, which looks like it was taken at a video shoot, had been captioned with the hashtag #NobodysBusiness (presumed to be the title of Skales’ upcoming album).

The Ooni of Ife, His Royal Majesty, Oba Enitan Adeyeye was at the 41st Odunde Festival at the weekend.

ODUNDE was created in 1975 by Lois Fernandez and Ruth Arthur. The festival attracts UP TO 500,000 people annually and is the largest African American street festivals held in the country.

The festival, whose concept originates from the Yoruba people of Nigeria, West Africa, celebrates the coming of another year for African Americans and Africanized people around the world. It is an occasion highlighted by a colorful procession from 23rd and South Streets to the Schuylkill River where an offering of fruit and flowers is made to Osun, the Yoruba goddess of the river. ODUNDE is also known for its authentic African marketplace featuring vendors from around the world selling merchandise from many African nations, the Caribbean and Brazil.

PoliticsAmbode Speech At Swearing-in Ceremony Of Newly Appointed Sole Administrators by AjayiWrites(op):
Today’s event is another step by our administration to give governance back to the people of this State by making the Local Governments and Local Councils a vibrant, responsive and viable part of the Lagos State Government.

You will recollect that the Lagos State House of Assembly recently passed a resolution that the previous local government committee’s be dissolved and Sole Administrators appointed in their place. In line with this, we have today sworn in Sole Administrators to manage the affairs of our Local Governments and Councils.

The hallmark of any good Government is to provide basic services to the communities at the grassroots. This is the only way the real dividends of good governance can spread downwards and touch the hearts and minds of its people.

Our State is growing so fast that the concept of the rural area will not be applicable to any part of Lagos very soon. Our government is working hard to meet the yearnings of our people who live in what I term semi-urban areas by providing them with services like water, good roads, street lights, efficient refuse collection, cleaning of drainage and roads, primary healthcare, recreational parks and sports facilities to make those areas liveable and economically viable. We are dedicated to this and will deliver on our promise of a Government of inclusion where no one is left behind.

This government is committed to Local Government reforms and in August last year during our meeting with Community Development Associations, we promised to embark on reforms with the aim of making the 57 Local Government and Development Areas more responsive to the needs of the people. In furtherance of this, early this year we assented to Three Bills on Local Government reform and elections passed by the Lagos State House of Assembly.

The message behind these new laws is that our administration is set to restore standards, create opportunities, instill pride, honour, service, accountability and responsiveness to the Local Government system in Lagos State. It will no longer be business as usual. Rather it will be a tough journey requiring character, leadership, commitment and resilience of those at the helm of affairs to actualize our dreams.

Your appointment today as Sole Administrators should therefore be seen as a call to service of our people. You are relay runners on a journey of reform that will ultimately culminate in the election of accountable people that will carry on the baton of good governance for our people. For the duration of your race, I urge you to run the race efficiently with diligence so you do not betray the trust that has been placed in you.

Your job is to go to the Local Governments you have been posted and make a difference to the lives of the people. You must touch lives and be prepared to have your lives also touched by our people. You must interact with the people, share their joys and pain, and reside among them. It is only through this symbiotic relationship that we can truly say we have begun to understand and serve our people.

Let me seize this opportunity to warn that we will not hesitate to remove and replace any Administrator who fails to serve the people diligently or abuses his/her office. A strict monitoring, control and feedback process will be put in place to ensure that there are no excesses or excuses. Strict accountability must be your watchword. Lagosians will be watching you and we will be watching you too.

The Secretary to the State Government will announce the postings shortly.

On a final note I congratulate you on your appointments and wish you success in carrying out your assignments.
