Kitay: Ask Ajibam,I love that passage... The passasge teaches us many things like evangelism,prejudices,time.comfort...e.t.c But I will explain those that I mentioned Evangelism- jesus christ did what we were taught as PERSONAL EVANGELISM...he sent his disciples to buy food for him and he sat by the well to tell the woman about the spring of life... One thing to know is that jesus choose to take tje samaria route which is the longest because he knew that woman was there(sovereignty) Prejudices-we can see that the woman said what will a jew have in common with them.they always avoid eachorda(2king17vs24-41)..but jesus wasn't bounded by tribalism and tradition,(a lesson for us) Time-despite jesus's tight schedule,he sat with the woman to teach him(lesson-we should always have time for evangelism Comfort-he was famished,,still he attended to the spiritually impoverished woman (lesson- we shoul discomfort ourselves to serve God One more thing is about the spring of life,,,we must come to him to drink of it Shalom The name ajibam Last year when I registered I did so to look for cheats, tweaks e.t.c I have account in most of those mobile site and my username will always be ajibam and password ajibam...me and my friends use is al..in any site we use that to register..we curled it from ajibade.. My real nickname is bigyemi NOTE Have change my nairaland password from ajibam to *********** |

An0nimus: now you see my point lol. me its NL over twitter. there's a difference between following a live football game on NL than on twitter for example.Archaeological and historical evidence shows that dice playing and other forms of gambling were practised in Biblical times. However, gambling is mentioned only a few times in the Bible. The Roman soldiers cast lots to see who would get Jesus' clothing after He was crucified (Matthew 27:35, Mark 15:24, Luke 23:34, John 19:24). Gambling by casting lots is also mentioned in Psalms 22:18 and Job 6:27). Casting lots was not primarily a gambling method, but a way of making a decision, similar to drawing straws (Leviticus 16:8, Numbers 34:13, Jonah 1:7, Acts 1:23-26). It was sometimes assumed that God would make His will known in the outcome. The "lots" mentioned in the Bible may have been a form of dice, but that is not certain. The Bible does not give any direct guidance on whether gambling is right or wrong. According to the Bible, however, some of the motivations and actions that may accompany modern gambling are sins: Greed, obsession with money (Mark 7:20-23, 1 Timothy 6:10) Exploitation of people (Leviticus 25:16-17, 1 Thessalonians 4:5-6) Not providing for one's family (1 Timothy 5: ![]() Bad habits, compulsions (John 8:34, Romans 6:16-18) A life of dissipation (1 Peter 4:1-4) I do bet before but I don't do so again |
