Lets look at the scriptures to see if you are telling the truth or are guilty of lying

But what does Scripture itself tell us about our bride-to-be Rebecca? Was she, in fact, forced to be a bride when it would have been more appropriate for her to be just a flower girl had this been a 21st century marriage? As with most anything one reads, wean apply simple common sense to determine the facts.


Our Scripture text is from Genesis 24, and describes how Abraham sent a trusted servant to find a wife for Isaac from among Nahor's line in Aram-naharaim, rather than from the Canaanites, whose behavior had greatly displeased YHWH and who He would later punish. Abraham said,


3 "... I will have you swear by the Lord, God of heaven and God of earth, that you will not take a wife for my son from the daughters of the Canaanites among whom I live,
4 but will go to my land and my family to take a wife for my son Isaac.”
Abraham's instruction was clear. The servant was to find Isaac a wife, not a child for whom Isaac would have to wait many years before she would be ready to marry. We see from the servant's response that he understood who he was to search for (italics mine):
5 The servant said to him, “Suppose the woman is unwilling to follow me to this land? Should I have your son go back to the land you came from?”
To which Abraham responds:
8 "... If the woman is unwilling to follow you, then you are free from this oath to me, but don’t let my son go back there.”
A woman. Not a child. So off went the servant on his mission. The journey was going to be a long one. From Hebron to his destination was a distance of 468 miles, or more than 750 kilometers.
10 The servant took 10 of his master’s camels and departed with all kinds of his master’s goods in hand. Then he set out for Nahor’s town Aram-naharaim.
11 He made the camels kneel beside a well of water outside the town at evening. This was the time when the women went out to draw water.
12 “Lord, God of my master Abraham,” he prayed, “give me success today, and show kindness to my master Abraham.
13 I am standing here at the spring where the daughters of the men of the town are coming out to draw water.
14 Let the girl to whom I say, ‘Please lower your water jug so that I may drink,’ and who responds, ‘Drink, and I’ll water your camels also’—let her be the one You have appointed for Your servant Isaac. By this I will know that You have shown kindness to my master.”
15 Before he had finished speaking, there was Rebecca—daughter of Bethuel son of Milcah, the wife of Abraham’s brother Nahor—coming with a jug on her shoulder.
16 Now the girl was very beautiful, a young woman who had not known a man intimately. She went down to the spring, filled her jug, and came up.
Once again the text is clear. Rebecca is a young woman, not a toddler. Remember that your typical three year olds cannot carry heavy jugs of water on their shoulders. Their bodies are just too small and weak for this type of labor.
Note as well the phrase "a young woman who had not known a man intimately." Again, this is not a phrase one uses to describe a three year old.
17 Then the servant ran to meet her and said, “Please let me have a little water from your jug.”
18 She replied, “Drink, my lord.” She quickly lowered her jug to her hand and gave him a drink.
19 When she had finished giving him a drink, she said, “I’ll also draw water for your camels until they have had enough to drink.”
20 She quickly emptied her jug into the trough and hurried to the well again to draw water. She drew water for all his camels
21 while the man silently watched her to see whether or not the Lord had made his journey a success.
22 After the camels had finished drinking, the man took a gold ring weighing half a shekel, and for her wrists two bracelets weighing 10 shekels of gold.
23 “Whose daughter are you?” he asked. “Please tell me, is there room in your father’s house for us to spend the night?”
24 She answered him, “I am the daughter of Bethuel son of Milcah, whom she bore to Nahor.”
25 She also said to him, “We have plenty of straw and feed and a place to spend the night.”
26 Then the man bowed down, worshiped the Lord,
27 and said, “Praise the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who has not withheld His kindness and faithfulness from my master. As for me, the Lord has led me on the journey to the house of my master’s relatives.”
So, from the actual text of the Bible, we see that Rebecca could not have been 3 years old because:
- drawing water from a well is far too heavy a job to give to a 3 year old
- carrying even a single water jug to water the camels with would be too much for a 3 year old because each gallon of water weighs 10 pounds. Today, an average 3 year old weighs between 25.5 to 38.5 pounds
- Rebecca didn't only draw water for the servant, but she also drew water for all of his camels
Why would that be impossible for a 3 year old to do? Because Wikipedia tells us that:
"a 600 kg (1,300 lb) camel can drink 200 L (53 US gal) of water in three minutes."
That means that the 3 year old would have had to draw 530 pounds of water per camel.


Genesis 24:10 tells us that the servant brought ten camels, meaning she would have had to draw a total of 5,300 pounds of water.

Even if she were a 3 year old Arnold Schwarzenegger, there is no way she could have done this.

The Bible is also clear that a marriage always required the consent of the woman, another sign that the bride would have to be at or above the age of consent. She would have to be old enough and mature enough to agree to marry the man. This requires the bride to be of sufficient age both psychologically and physiologically before she can marry.

This "3 year old Rebecca" fable has got to be one of the most ridiculous of the Islamic apologist claims ever, all because Muslims are trying very hard to justify Muhammad's marriage to a 6 year old.

Levitical Priesthood. The law has changed. Hebrews chapter 7 through chapter 10. And under this New Testament or covenant, every true believer has been made a PRIEST. (1 Peter 2 verse 9 and Revelations 1 verse 5 and 6).

Let's call a spade a spade........
One very interesting way to study the Bible and really enjoy it is to reading it side-by-side with historical sources external to the Bible. The Bible give us historical information and Bible writers were not the only human beings that could write. Several events happened in history and there were very notable events that were written down by prominent writers particularly as they affected the socio-political landscape of that time. Let's take for example The Great Fire of Rome. It was a very devastating urban fire that started on the night of 18th July in the year 64 and it lasted six days before it was eventually put under control. To know more about this, feel free to google "The Great Fire of Rome" and you will read several accounts of the incident.

One notable historian who included the story of The Great Fire of Rome in books was Tacitus. His full name, Publius Cornelius Tacitus. He was born in the year 58 (about 26 year after the crucifixion of Jesus). Tacitus was a great writer and a senator in the Roman Empire under the Emperor Nero. Tacitus wrote a book captioned THE ANNALS and in this book he documented the history of the Roman Empire from the reign of Teberius Ceasar to Nero (from the year 14 to the year 68). You can liken this to a Senator of today who documents the history of his country from 1963 to 2017. In my country Nigeria for example, we have many great writers who have written the history of Nigeria from pre-independence to date and these works are used in schools as authentic history of the country. This is not peculiar to Nigeria but it is so in every country. In the case of Tacitus, he was not just a great writer but also a senator. Meaning he had access to the Roman senate's records, which provided a solid basis for his work. If you come out to say, "Tacitus was not there when Jesus was crucified, so it was only made to appear so to him", it mean you are deliberately being unreasonable. The political history of a people is a lasting heritage that can never be stolen away by any religion or fairly tale.

The writings of Tacitus is of great importance to investigators of Biblical history because by authoritatively documenting the history of Rome from the era of Tiberius, to the era of the government under which he served, he no doubt wrote about events of great interest us. The Bible says it was during the reign of Teberius that the ministry of Jesus came took effect and we find that the writings of Tacitus covered this same period and beyond.
"Now in the fifteenth year of the reign of Tiberius Caesar, Pontius Pilate being governor of Judaea, and Herod being tetrarch of Galilee, and his brother Philip tetrarch of Ituraea and of the region of Trachonitis, and Lysanias the tetrarch of Abilene, {tetrarch: or, governor of four provinces}. Annas and Caiaphas being the high priests, the word of God came unto John the son of Zacharias in the wilderness. And he came into all the country about Jordan, preaching the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins;" (Luke 3:1-3)

In the above scripture, Luke gives accurate record of the period when John the Baptist Announced Jesus and Jesus started his ministry The Biblical story goes on until the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus. Please take not of the politicians in power whose names are mentioned in the writings of Luke.

The above were political office holders appointed by the Roman Emperor supported by the Senate. The names of two Jewish high priests in authority are also mention, Annas and Caiaphas.

Jesus came at a time significant not only to Christian history but also to Jewish and Roman political history. You cannot silence politics neither can you alter political history. For example, time will tell whether or not Nigeria will survive as a country but if after 632 years from today, a prophet comes from a mountain in Ivory Coast to tell our descendants that there was never a Biafra agitation, guess what will happen. Our descendants will simply produce the writings of pro-Biafra activists and anti-Biafra activists as evidence to prove that there was such an agitation at such and such a time. Names of people will be mentioned, writings of various commentators for and against the agitation will be used as references to show that there's something wrong with that prophet. They will not hesitate to call a spade a spade.

Tacitus in his documentation on the Roman Empire from Tiberius to Nero wrote of the crucifixion of Jesus, The Great Fire of Rome, Persecution of Christians and several other happening of notable political significance. These are official documentation that have not and cannot be denied. Tacitus is not the only one that wrote. There several other historical evidence.

For a prophet to jump down from an Arabian mountain to say that these things never happened here on earth but was only made to appear so, really makes me wonder what to call such a prophet.

The biggest lie........
The Biggest lie is found in Quran 4:157. This verse says that Jesus was not crucified but it was only made to appear so.
If you reject this verse, you are saying that Allah is a liar. If you accept the verse, you are also saying that Allah is a liar. If this claim is correct, it is therefore logically reasonable to conclude that Allah is a liar and the biggest liar at that. Now let's put this claim to test

REJECTING QURAN 4:157............
The crucifixion of Jesus was a landmark public event clearly recorded in history. To the Christians it was a fulfillment of prophecy, to the unbelieving Jews is was the execution of a deceiver who claimed to be the Son of God and to the Romans who were rulers over Israel under the Roman Empire, he was a Jewish teacher who was not found guilty under the law yet executed as based on the demands of his fellow Jews. It is on record that Teberius Divi the son of Augustus was Emperor of the Roman Empire when Jesus was crucified.
The crucifixion of Jesus can therefore be regarded as the greatest event in history and on this basis we have reasons to dismiss Quran 4:157 as a lie from Satan. If such an event is regarded as the greatest event, then the lie against should be regarded as THE BIGGEST LIE!

ACCEPTING QURAN 4:157............
I once had a discussion with a Muslim and I asked him why he believes that Jesus was never crucified. His response was that this: "Because I'm a Muslim". Sincerely speaking, this is the only reason why Muslims reject the crucifixion of Jesus. The Quran says Jesus was not crucified and whatever the Quran says is the truth because it is Allah talking in the Quran and Allah cannot lie. Well, Muhammad said it is Allah talking in the Quran and Muhammad cannot lie because Allah revealed the Quran to Muhammad. So let us accept that Quran 4:157 is true.

If we accept this verse of the Quran to be true, we must accept that Allah made it appear as if Jesus was crucified. That means Allah invented a lie to deceive the Jews, Romans and the believers in Jesus who are called Christians today. Accepting this verse to be true simple means accepting that Allah lied to deceive all the world except Muslims. If Allah invented such a great lie, it does qualify as THE BIGGEST LIE!

CONCLUSION
So you see my dear friends, whether or not you accept Quran 4:157, it is reasonable to conclude that the greatest lie is right there. There is no bigger lie that Quran 4:157.
Please take this message and teach it in your church and to your children that they may know that Allah is a liar! The biggest liar!

For instance, in Genesis 1:5 , the combination of evening and morning comprise one (echad) day. In Genesis 2:24 , a man and a woman come together in marriage and the two "shall become one (echad) flesh." In
Ezra 2:64 , we are told that the whole assembly was as one (echad), though of course, it was composed of numerous people. Ezekiel 37:17 provides a rather striking example where two sticks are combined to become one (echad). The use of the word echad in Scripture shows it to be a compound and not an absolute unity.
