A young boy was apprehended while he was allegedly on his way for a dangerous mission. According to online reports, the boy who stays in Jesse town - was nabbed on his way to allegedly kill and behead someone for ritual purpose in Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State.

The boy was caught by 3 a.m on Monday (today) with a machete which he planned to use to butcher his prospective victim before his plan was foiled. 

The boy is currently in custody as investigation is underway. 

This is coming after ritual killers struck few days ago in Oghara, killing a 12-year old identified as Eguono.

It was gathered that Eguono, whose killers severed her head from body and her vital parts harvested away, was killed around Okwemeva Junction, off Scot Road, an area that had witnessed a number of ritual murders in the last few weeks.

An attempted bank robbery in Ile-Ife, Osun State has been repelled by officers of the Nigeria Police Force and members of the vigilante group in the area that accommodates about 7 commercial banks.

Punch Metro reports that the robbers, who stormed the area in a Toyota Camry car and a bus, parked near a commercial bank in the area and shot continuously into the air to scare away people.

However, policemen attached to the banks and members of the vigilance groups within the vicinity responded with stronger force, forcing the robbers to beat a retreat.

“When the robbers arrived Lagere, they parked their vehicles a few meters away from the banks.

“You know, about seven commercial banks have branches in the area. At the time they arrived, activities in the area were just picking up. Customers were moving in and out of the banks.

“They suddenly began shooting into the air to scare people away; but policemen attached to the banks and vigilante boys responded with stronger force, shooting at the direction of the robbers.

“The robbers escaped through Akarabata area, Modakeke; and moved out through Ondo road.

“They were given hot chase by the combined team of policemen and vigilante boys,” a resident of Lagere, Adeolu Olagunju, said.

When contacted for reaction, Police Public Relations Officer for Osun Police Command, Folasade Odoro (SP), confirmed the incident and said that policemen were on the trail of the robbers.

“Their attempt on the banks failed. One of their vehicles was seized by our men. I have not been properly briefed. But that is the situation for now,” Odoro said.

Skyway String Transport Technology wants to move passengers from Lagos to Abuja in 45 minutes with its fast cable light rail project that is designed to reduce gridlocks along the route .

The light rail will travel along the over 500 km geographical distance between Lagos and Abuja at constant speed of up to 150km per hour in about 3hrs,but has capacity to accelerate up to 500km per hour.

Their aim is to reduce the rate of traffic hold up and roads accidents along the Lagos-Abuja route.The multi-million dollars project will also boost tourism through sightseeing as well as reduce travel time .

Following the unfortunate incident which happened on Tuesday, November 13, after a revenue collector purportedly pursued a heavy duty truck into causing a fatal accident on the Aba River Bridge at waterside area of Ogbor hill in Abia state, governor Okezie Ikpeazu, set up a high powered state delegation to investigate the matter. 

The accident saw two passengers including a woman who were in a commercial tricycle a.k.a 'Keke Napep', killed and others injured. 

The state governor directed the committee to investigate the remote and immediate cause(s) of the sad accident and visit the families of the deceased victims and those at the hospital to enable the get factual details of what happened during the incident.

Those involved in the accident are; 

1. The truck driver (name not known).
2. The Keke driver - Mr. Temple Chibunna a 27 years old boy from Umuisenta Umuokahia II, in Obingwa LGA.
3. A  51-year-old teacher from Umuezechi in Bende LGA, known as Mrs. Ekeh Onwuka Chioma- Principal II at Ndiegero Secondary School, Ulasi Road, Aba).

4. The unofficial Revenue tout ( Agbero) - Mr. Chijioke Kalu - a 28 years old boy, who allegedly caused the accident while pursuing the truck driver.

The investigating Police Officer (IPO) while narrating his findings said that the agbero on seeing that he had caused the accident jumped into Aba river but was quickly accosted by some butcher who also dived into the river and brought him out to a waiting angry mob that beat him up before the arrival of the police.

The police rescued him together with other victims to New Era Hospital where they were rejected. While deciding where next to go,(the teacher) Mrs. Ekeh Onwuka Chioma died at the hospital there and was taken to St. Anthony Mortuary, while the Agbero and the Keke Driver were taken to Abia State Teaching Hospital, Aba where the Keke driver (Mr. Temple Chibunna) also gave up the ghost and was taken to SDA Hospital Mortuary. Consequently only the Agbero Mr. Chijioke Kalu was admitted at ABSUTH Aba.

The Agbero, Mr. Chijoke Kalu, was admitted with deep pain resulting from mob beating as he was bleeding from his nose and ear with a swollen eye.

I spent the better part of yesterday on this horrible case of matrimonial abuse.
Someone called from the hospital where the man had driven his wife to after beating her to a pulp.  He beat her up,  drove her to the hospital,  dropped her there and drove away.
The hospital staff said this girl is a regular here and for the same reason.
What this lady told me weakened me.  I am surprised she is not dead.  But I fear she might very soon if help does not come her way.
I eventually got to speak with her family members who told me the beatings are too rampant.Some months ago,  he beat her badly and left her for dead in the rain outside their house.
I immediately arranged for her to be taken to a safe place as soon as she left the hospital.  I also arranged for her kids to be picked up from school to be with her.

I have two challenges at the moment and that is why I am sharing this.
1. My phone wiped off some contacts including those of the people (NGOs) I would have reached out to for help over this matter.  I need an NGO ASAP.  I have this girl's contact as well as those of her husband and the doctor.
2. This incident happened in Lagos and I am far from there at the moment.

Nigerians, please help save this life.

A hair stylist has narrated how she was extorted and sexually harassed by SARS operatives in Rukpokwu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

According to her, it was one of her worst days. Read her story below,..,

"@opetodolapo Today is definitely one of my worst days.. I woke up a bit feverish with slight headache so I cancelled my activities for the day, at about 6:30pm I decided to go get drugs,because my condition seemed to be getting serious and also get pizza for my mum just 7mins drive away from my estate.. On getting back to my estate, a blue Prado jeep stopped right in front of me and some armed men on uniform came out asking me to park for a search, I obliged, they went through all the vehicle papers and drivers license etc very much complete.. The next question I was asked was they needed to see my company Id ,I tried to explain to them I didn't have it on me because I just drove out to get pizza from the next bus stop and they said I was under arrest for stealing a vehicle and I couldn't give them an ID of where I work, I obliged and we drove to their station and the whole story changed.. One of the officers made a phone call and he said I was among the criminals they received a call about.. I tried to beg, I even showed proof of the medications I got, they gave me a paper to make a statement,in the process they took my phones from me and started going through my phone, from my chats call logs down to my bank mails etc.... After spending 2hrs with them they demanded for a sum of 2million naira as my bail,for a crime I do not know.. This is pure wickedness and evil... I never stole, robbed, violated any rules etc... We finally came to an agreement after keeping me hostage from 6pm till 12am that I should pay them 100,000naira.. One of the officers even approached me trying to sexually harass me!! This same men didn't even mind the time they comfortably drove me to an ATM machine so I could make a withdrawal for them... These men are criminals!! I was granted bail by 1:30am after spending 7good hours... Someone's hard earn money This Is totally unacceptable, Are you guys not meant to be protecting lives ? Why will you extort someone of their hard earn sweat!! I thought SARS had ended... (officers names are : officer Matt, Emma, security, Friday) "
