BusinessDeutsche Bank To Close Almost 200 Branches,3,000 Staff To Be Laid Off In Germany by akanke79(op): 12:57pm On Jul 18, 2016
Germany’s largest lender is set to shut over a quarter of its branches across the country as the company goes through a major restructuring process

The closures are set to take place over the next few months , with 188 of Deutsche Bank's 723 branches nationwide due to close their doors.

On Sunday, Deutsche Bank published a list of the affected branches.

North Rhine-Westphalia is to be hit hardest, with 51 branches in Germany's most populous state listed for the chopping board. In Bavaria eleven will close, eight of which are in Munich.

In Hamburg nine branches are to be shut down, in Berlin and Brandenburg 50.

After recording colossal losses of around €7 billion in 2015, the Frankfurt lender is desperately seeking ways to cut costs.

A series of scandals and litigation cases have sent Deutsche Bank shares into a long nosedive on the stock exchange and forced it to waive dividend payments to shareholders.

Justifying the move to slash hundreds of branches, company spokesman Christian Sewing said that, with a growing number of customers doing their banking online, fewer people come to the branches to conduct business.
The bank said it hopes to redirect funds to digital banking, in which it hopes to invest €750 million by 2020.

Deutsche Bank has also announced plans to make 3,000 members of its full time staff redundant.

TravelDenmark Scraps Green Card Scheme But Spares Current Holders by akanke79(op): 11:18am On Jun 06, 2016
Denmark scraps green card but spares current holders
The Danish parliament agreed on Thursday to eliminate the troubled green card scheme but extended a life line to those already in the country under the programme.

Current green card holders had accused Denmark of breaking its promises by threatening to retroactively apply new rules to foreign professionals who have done everything required of them under the current regulations.

Those currently living under the scheme argued that it would be a “humanitarian crisis” to apply new rules to them, saying it would unfairly unravel the family and professional lives they have established in Denmark.

On Thursday, politicians approved a third and final version of the bill that will completely eliminate the green card scheme moving forward but will allow current green card holders to extend their stays in Denmark under the previous rules and will allow them to seek family reunification under existing legislation.

A relieved Naqeeb Khan, an executive member of the Danish Green Card Association (DGCA), told The Local that green card holders were “celebrating” after the bill’s passage in Christiansborg.

For many, the bill's final form was the source of great relief.

“I was extremely worried about my kids and their future. I even talked with different people about the possibility of seeking asylum in Denmark because if this bill would have been passed in its original form then I would have been going back to Pakistan where nothing is left for me and my family,” green card holder Mehvish Kiran told The Local.

Kiran told The Local last week that her family would be “destroyed” if she were affected by the new rules, said she was enormously relieved that MPs changed the final bill to exempt current green card holders.

“Now my kids can go to school here in Denmark,” Kiran, a chemist from Pakistan, said.

Her eldest daughter, Fatima, was ecstatic to hear that she would not have to leave her home in Ringsted.

"I love my school and now I can continue going to school with my best friend Hjalte," she said.

Arpita Ravi, who came to Denmark from India on a green card in 2014, said she will finally be able to relax after months of uncertainty. She had her husband Ravi Kumar, also a green card holder, had been worried that they would be forced to sell their flat at a loss if they had to leave Denmark earlier than planned.

“I was worried about what I would have to tell my parents about why I am coming back and why I am selling the property I bought just few months ago in Copenhagen. I would have been facing a lose of almost 200,000 kroner if this bill would have been passed in its original form,” she said.

Helped by left-wing MP
The green card holders that The Local spoke with went out of their way to thank Finn Sørensen, an MP with the left-wing Red-Green Alliance (Enhedslisten) who they say was an integral figure in securing an exemption to the new rules for current green card holders.
Finn Sørensen has shown the utmost responsibility by listening to our demands during the demonstration and coming up with amendments with no time limit for existing green card holders,” Khan said.

The group also thanked MPs Sofie Carsten Nielsen (Radikale) and Josephine Bleep (The Alternative) as well as former MP Nadeem Farooq for their support.

Following the bill’s passage on Thursday, there will be no more green cards issued as of June 10th, putting an end to a scheme that has been heavily criticized for years.

A 2014 report found that nearly 80 percent of all highly-educated foreigners who enter the country on the scheme end up in unskilled positions, work under the table or end up jobless.

However, the DGCA has argued that the green card programme has also produced many success stories and said those in Denmark under the scheme have fought hard to live up to "one set of tougher rules after another", including a complete overhaul that took effect last year and required green card holders to earn more than 315,000 kroner in order to qualify for a residence permit extension.
IslamRe: Eating Right During Ramadan: 10 Useful Tips To Being Healthy by akanke79(op): 9:02pm On Jun 05, 2016
7. Avoid Salty and Sugary Foods

Eating sweets immediately after iftar will result to bloating and cause a delay in digestion. It will also cause a fluctuation in the blood glucose level, which will lead to you craving for more sweets. That’s why, it is recommended to have sweets in moderation 2-3 hours after iftar.

Delightful sweets in Ramadan are hard to resist. To avoid consuming too many calories, indulge and enjoy with your family the tasty and creative delights while making sure you always practice portion control and moderation.

The more the food is salty, spicy and processed the more it will make you thirsty the following day. The body breaks sugary foods faster, and this will also make you hungry sooner.

8. Avoid coffee

If you are a coffee drinker, try and reduce your coffee consumption two weeks prior to Ramadan in order to avoid headaches and sleepiness.

9. Divide your meals

Having three meals is still important during this holy month: iftar, a light evening snack, and suhoor. This would help you avoid continuous snacking throughout the non-fasting hours.

Divide your main course into three parts. Have one quarter of the plate filled with complex carbohydrates, one quarter with lean meat or meat alternatives, and half with vegetables. This will ensure that you have a healthy balanced meal.

10. Exercise

Adding exercise to your daily routine during Ramadan is very beneficial. This will help you maintain a healthy weight and healthy lifestyle.

If you are a regular athlete used to moderate or vigorous exercise, you can still maintain this by incorporating your exercise session just before iftar. Make sure to hydrate immediately after your session and eat slowly to replenish your fluid and nutrients. Try exercising an hour or two after you break your fast.

IslamRe: Eating Right During Ramadan: 10 Useful Tips To Being Healthy by akanke79(op): 9:00pm On Jun 05, 2016
1. Start your meal with dates

Dates are a very important source of sugar that will replenish the energy you lost throughout the long hours of fasting, it is rich in fibers that will regulate your bowel movements. They are rich in magnesium and potassium as well.

2. Stay hydrated

This year Ramadan will be at the peak of summer when temperatures are hitting as high as 45 degrees. You have to make sure that you drink enough water after you break your fast so that you do not feel thirsty or have any signs of dehydration the following day. Drink 8 glass of water throughout the night.

3. Avoid thirst

Avoid salty foods, such as canned or processed foods, salted nuts, and pickles, because these will increase your thirst during the fasting period. Also avoid foods that are too spicy or salty, and consume more fruits and vegetables that are refreshing to prevent getting thirsty.

4. Break your fast slowly

Start with dates, water, followed by soup, a bowl of salad and then go to the main meal. If you feel full after the salad, you can take a break and continue your meals later. Overeating can cause stomach pain and bloating which is a very common problem that people face during Ramadan. Starting your iftar meal with a warm soup comforts the stomach after a long day of fasting, replenishes your body with fluids and help prepare the digestive system for this meal.

5. Ensure that your meal has all food groups

Your iftar should have a source of grains, proteins, vegetables, fruits and healthy oils.

6. Make healthy food choices

Choose whole grains, lean meat, chicken breast, fish, olive oil in moderation and whole fruits instead of fruit juices. Stay away from fried food, and food high in fat.

Meats, legumes, eggs and dairy products are rich in proteins. Ensure you have at least one of these sources in every Ramadan meal since proteins are very important for your body cells. They also increase your satiety level thus reducing the temptation for eating sweets.

IslamMoon Sighted In Saudi Arabia, Kuwait;ramadan Begins In Arab States From Monday by akanke79(op): 7:41pm On Jun 05, 2016
Riyadh/Dubai: The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has declared Monday, June 6, 2016, as the first month of Ramadan. In a statement issued a little while ago, the highest court said it made the decision after validating reports of sightings of the Ramadan crescent moon.

Ramadan moon has been sighted in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait therefore Monday, June 6, will be the first day of the holy month in the Kingdom and other Arab States, Al Arabiya News Channel reported on Sunday.

The UAE, Jordan and the Palestinian territories have also confirmed seeing the Ramadan moon crescent and declared Monday as the first day of the holy month of Ramadan for Muslims, the report said.

The beginning of Ramadan has traditionally been based on “hilal” sightings, which is the traditional method mentioned in the Quran and followed by the Prophet Muhammad.

A new month in Islamic Calendar begins with sighting of moon on 29th of the prevailing month. If the new moon, Crescent, is sighted, the next day is counted as first day of the next month. If not, the next day is counted as 30th day of the prevailing month and the new month begins thereafter.

Earlier, the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has called on all Muslims across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to sight the Crescent of the blessed month of Ramadan today i.e. Sunday evening, Shaaban 29, 1437 AH, corresponding to June 05, 2016.

The Supreme Court also called on whoever sees the Crescent of the blessed month of Ramadan by naked eyes or through binoculars to report to the nearest court and register his testimony, or report to the authority of the region's centre in his area where he sighted the Crescent in order to facilitate his reaching to the nearest court, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

The Supreme Court also urged all Muslims to sight the crescent by joining regional committees specialized in this regard, and to help Muslims around the world in righteousness and piety.

In United Arab Emirate (UAE), Sultan Saeed Al Badi, Minister of Justice, in a resolution, said the committee to sight the Crescent will meet after Maghreb prayerson Sunday at the judicial Department in Abu Dhabi. The resolution stipulates that all courts in the UAE have to mark the new moon of Ramadan and provide proof.

The UAE on Wednesday formed a moon-sighting committee to determine the beginning of Ramadan. To be chaired by Sultan bin Saeed Al Badi, Minister of Justice, the committee will convene on June 5 (Shaban 29, Hijri calendar) after Maghrib prayer to witness the first sighting of the crescent moon.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Shawkat Odeh, Director, International Astronomical Center UAE, said Islamic countries would observe the Crescent on Sunday evening, according to local media reports

He said the moon would be out after sunset and it would be possible to sight the Crescent using a telescope. However, it would be possible to see the Crescent with naked eye only in parts of America, and parts of the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, he added.

While Muslims in Saudi Arabia, UAE and other Gulf States will sight the Crescent today i.e. Sunday June 05 to decide if the first day of the Holy month of fasting Ramadan is on Monday June 06, Muslims in India, Pakistan, Bangaldesh and other South Eastern countries will sight the new moon a day later on Monday.

On the other hand, Muslims in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and other European countries rely on moon sighting announcements by Saudi Supreme Court, and begins Ramadan with Arab States.

More than 1.5 billion Muslims around the world will mark the month, during which believers abstain from eating, drinking, smoking and having martial relations from dawn until sunset. They also try to avoid evil thoughts and deeds during the holy month.

Ramadan is sacred to Muslims because tradition says the Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) during that month. It is followed by the Eid al-Fitr festival.

Prophet Muhammad (saw) said: “You do as you please but remember, you will die just like you lived, you will die just like you lived and you will be resurrected on the Day of Judgment just like you died”. You will die just like you lived, if you’ve lived wining and dining, chilling and thrilling and giving preference to the world over the hereafter, and then you think in your little minds that on the point of death you will utter the Kalima, ‘La ilaha iLaAllah Muhammadur Rasoolullah’, or you will die reciting Zhikr or spending salutations on Muhammad (saw), or you will die on a state of prostration, then people like you and me are living in a Cuckoo’s Land, Yes We’re living in Cuckoo Land! If we believe that we reject Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw), then we will never die by reciting tha Kalima, Just as it is hope that one who pleases Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw) and suppresses his desires, and gives preference to the hereafter over this world, Allah (swt) will honour him at the time of death, It’s so possible that Allah (swt) takes out his soul, when his in the state of prostration, when his bowing down before The Lord of The Arsh and Kursi, in prayer Allah (swt) takes out his soul, when His woken up during the nights and his hands are raised before His Master, and his begging for Allah (swt’s) mercy, O my friends Allah (swt) takes his soul, while he is sitting in the Masjid of Prophet Muhammad (saw), before roza-e-mubarik of Prophet Muhammad (saw), or His in His Masjid Al-Haram (Khanna-e-Kaa’bah) in the state of Ihram making tawaaf around the house of Allah (swt).

Just as it is hope that Allah (swt) will honour that individual who gives preference to the hereafter over the world, it is feared one who gives preference to the world over the hereafter and rejects the teachings of Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw), and neglects His obligation to Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw), My friends it is feared that Allah (swt) will disgrace himat the time of death, Allah (swt) will disgrace him at the time of death!, and if Allah (swt) disgrace’s him at the time of death, then you tell me what you think Allah (swt) has installed for him? Thereafter in the grave? Day of Judgment? And Jahannam?
IslamRe: You Will Die The Way You Live' - Choose Your Path by akanke79(op):
Disrespecting Mother and Father, today all mothers and fathers are crying, that they don’t even have control of children as young as 5. As young as 5 they will turn around and look up at their mothers and fathers and say, “Who are you to tell me to do this? Who are you?” they will answer back, the hadith which Hafiz Al-Mindhir has related in Targhib wa tarhib comes to mind, He says: “I went to a tribe, and there was tomb near this tribe, and after Asr prayer this grave opened and a man came out of this grave, his head was that of a donkey and his body was that of a human being, he came out of the grave, he Hee Hawed three times like a donkey, three times he Hee Hawed like a Donkey and after this he went back inside the grave, and the grave closed”.

He says, I asked the locals with regards to this individual as to who he was and why Allah (swt) was punishing him in this manner, so he says the locals informed me that this young individual, he would take alcohol, he would drink, he had a habit of drinking, an d when he would drink too much and he would return home to his mother, just as our mothers do, you know when we are out, having a good night out, haven’t told our mothers, our mothers are sleepless their not even sleeping, their waiting for us inside of our homes, fearing with regards to our wellbeing are we ok?, where are we?, they wait and wait. His mother would do the same, when he would return and she would see him intoxicated, to save him from the Jahannam and from the fire of hel and the punishment of the Akhirah (hereafter), she would give her son Naseeha (advice), and she would say to her son, “O My song fear Allah (swt), stay away from this thing, this is the mother of all evils, O My son this is a filthy thing, it’s from the works of the Satan (Iblees), O My Son if you want success, if you want to go to paradise then don’t even go near this, O My son do you not realize the Satan through this, The satan through this wants to stop you from the Zhikr (remembrance) of Allah (swt), and wants to stop you from prayer”. When she would give her son Naseeha (advice) in this manner, he would turn around to his mother and say, “O Mother stop Hee hawing like a donkey” (Astaghfrirullah). He would say to his mother: “Stop Hee Hawing like a Donkey”.

You know what? The exact same thing happens today! This particular individual used these words, we use words which are right in this day and age, which are no different to the words that he used, what do youngsters turn around and say to their mother and father, when their mother and father are saving them from Jagannam and the fire of hell they give them Naseeha, what do the sons turn around to their mother and father say?: “O Mother get off my back, your always breathing down upon me, You don’t give me a chance to breath, your always coming on top of me, give me a chance to breathe, give me my own space, give me my freedom , stay out of my life” This is what the youngsters utter today. My friends there is no difference between this and what that individual uttered at that time, those words were right at that time, these words are right at this time, always remember, after Asr prayer that individual died, and after Asr prayer Allah (swt) punished him in such a manner, that his head is turned into a donkey, He is the one that comes out of the grave and Hee Haws like a donkey.

Note: This hadith was related in front of masters of Hadith, not one single master rejected or questioned it.

This is why I say my young friends if you want to believe, then you believe, But if you don’t want to believe, if you don’t want to believe in Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw), if you don’t want to believe in the hereafter than my friends the choice is yours don’t believe.
Allah (swt) says: “Nobody will be forced to declare the Kalima ‘La ilaha iLAllah’, Nobody will be forced to embrace Islam and accept the Kalima ‘La ilaha iLAllah’”

You want to believe you believe, you don’t want to believe you don’t believe, you want to reject Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw)? Then my friend you reject Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw), you want to give preference to this world over the hereafter and you want to enjoy this life, the 50 years that you might get, the 60 years that you might get, and if you’re lucky you get a 100 years, you want to enjoy this and you want to give this preference to the eternal bliss in Paradise? Then my friend its your choice you do this, you wanna live a life wining and dining, you wanna live a life pubbing and clubbing, you wanna live a life chilling and thrilling? Then my friend you do this, but let me tell you the last laugh will be none other than The Lord of The Arsh and Kursi. Because,

My young friend Do not be deceived by that BMW that you may drive, Do not be deceived by that Ferrari or that big Range Rover that you may have, do not be deceived by the Bunglaows that you may live in , tall lofty buildings, beautiful houses, the beautiful and fashionable latest clothes that you may wear, do not be deceived by this Dunya (world), Why?

“This world is Deceiving” because everything within this world will come to an end and this world will also come to an end sooner or later.: “There is only One thing to remain, and that is none other than The Lord of the Arsh and Kursi, The Creator of the World, Other than this every single thing will perish. Say O’ Muhammad (saw), tell these people, You know this death that you are running away from, You and I are this moment in time are running away from death, we really don’t believe it. We Might not say it with our mouth that we don’t believe in death, we may acknowledge it because we’ve seen people going before us, so we may say we believe but our actions are proof that we don’t believe, You see the masajid full on Friday, you see tha masajid full today, you see the masajid full on the day of Eid, but the rest of the year my young friend, tomorrow come Fajr prayer you see one or two safs (rows) inside the masjid, and the same goes around for every other masajid in every country.

When it’s time for prayer we become deaf and blind to the teachings of Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw), When it’s time for Zakat we become deaf and blind to the teachings of Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw), When it’s time for Hajj we become deaf and blind to the teachings of Allah (swt) and His Messenger (saw), Our Amaal are saying that we don’t believe in death we’re running away from death.

Allah (swt) says: “You tell them O’ Muhammad (saw), you can run wherever you like, you can go in the depths of the Atlantic in the total darkness, my friend you can climb the peak of the mount Everest, my friend you can hide in the darkness of the Amazon or The Kalahari Bush, When your time comes to an end wherever you are, Then say The Pentagon & For Knox are places where no one can penetrate and get through, you can go and hide there, when your times comes to an end all of a sudden the barrier will be removed from your eyes, you’re in the dunya but now you can see the Akhirah (Hereafter), and you will see that Angel standing before you, Wherever you are in any corner of the globe, you cannot escape, You can be Bill Gates and you can possess billions and billions of Dollars, You can take the virgin spaceship and go to space, you can try what you like, when your time comes to an end, Believe or Not believe you will that Angel standing before you and He will get you.

Then, every one of us will return to The Knower of the seen and The Unseen, every one of us will return to The Absolute Master, At this moment in time, you may do wrong, you want to do wrong? You can do wrong you mother and father won’t find out. You probably go to every satanic place (night clubs etc.) making sure none of your mother and father or anyone of your relatives have a clue to what you do, But you know what? Despite of committing such sins secretly He The Most High is watching every single thing that you do and you can never escape from Him, you can never hide yourself from Allah (swt). He is aware of every word that your tongue utters, And He will inform you of every single thing that you’ve done in this world. He will inform you of every single thing, the Angels recording you deeds, you can’t hide and you will not get away, The Angels recording your deeds they will inform Him of what you did, and you want to try denying? Then my friend the very Earth which you wronged Him! The Earth on which you stole, the earth on which you fornicated, The earth on which you lied, the earth on which you went to the night clubs, the earth will begin to say. “O Allah Abdullah (Your servant) was here on the 29th of December at 10:30, O Allah I saw Him he was here” And if you still try to deny! Then you know these sacred body parts of yours they belong to you, these hands belong to you, this tongue belongs to you, these legs belong to you, but on that day my friend you will realize that you don’t even have control over your own tongue, your own hands, you own feet, My friend even they will not be loyal to you , on that day when you stand before The Lord of The Arsh and Kursi, Your saying to Allah (swt), “O Allah (swt), No I did not do this wrong, O Allah (swt) no, I didn’t commit this sin” “You know your hands they will being to speak and say: “O Allah (swt), no he is lying he committed this sin”, your feet will begin to speak and your feet will begin to say: “No Allah (swt) He did commit this sin!”. Your trying to say something with your tongue, but you will find that you have no control over your own tongue, And your tongue will bear witness against you and say: “O Allah (swt), indeed Abdullah committed this sin and I am a witness to this”.

Family10 yr old Boy Writes "Terrorist House" Instead Of "Terraced House" by akanke79(op): 1:26pm On Jan 20, 2016
‘I live in a terrorist house’: 10yo schoolboy interrogated by police over spelling error
A Muslim schoolboy who mistakenly wrote that he lived in a “terrorist house” rather than a “terraced house” has been interrogated by police.
The 10-year-old, who cannot be named for legal reasons, made the spelling mistake during an English lesson at a primary school in Accrington, Lancashire, in December.

His teachers did not realise it was an error and reported the student to the police, in accordance with the 2015 Counter-Terrorism and Security Act, which states that teachers are obliged to alert the authorities to any suspected terrorist behavior.
The following day, officers showed up at the pupil’s home to question him and examine his family’s laptop.

The boy’s family initially thought the police were joking, but according to his cousin, the 10-year-old was traumatized by the experience.

“You can imagine it happening to a 30-year-old man, but not to a young child,” the boy’s cousin, who cannot be named, told BBC News. “If the teacher had any concerns it should have been about his spelling.

“They shouldn’t be putting a child through this. He’s now scared of writing, using his imagination.”

His family have since called on the police and the school to apologize, according to BBC News.
The Counter-Terrorism and Security Act means schools have a duty to prevent their students from being radicalized.

However, critics have argued that the legislation forces schools and teachers to overreact for fear of breaking the law.

Commenting on the incident, the Lancashire police said: “This was reported to the police but was dealt with by a joint visit by a PC from the division and social services, not by anyone from Prevent [the UK’s counter-terror strategy].

“There were not thought to be any areas for concern and no further action was required by any agency,” the force’s spokesperson told the Mail Online.

RomancePsychologist: “our Culture Produces Traumatized Men” by akanke79(op): 1:09pm On Nov 29, 2015
Psychologist: “Our culture produces traumatized men”
A man loses his job. Or his wife leaves him. He can’t talk to anyone about it; other men would just think he is a loser. His self-esteem is crushed and his shame burns just below the surface. How can he cope if he can't express his feelings?

Job loss and divorce are traumatic life events for anyone, but many men don’t have the tools to deal with their feelings and are left alone with their problems.

Psychologist and psychotherapist Lauri Mannermaa speaks about the phenomenon of “male shame” - that overwhelming feeling some men are plagued by that says they have failed to be the man that society and other men expect.

“It starts already in childhood, when a boy learns how men are supposed to behave. In truth our entire culture produces traumatized men. We separate emotions from intellect,” he says.

According to Mannermaa, male shame takes hold when, for example, a man who has been let go from his job still gets up every morning and leaves for a cafe or the library, so his neighbours won’t realise that he is unemployed.

“Men find it mortifying to have to admit that they didn’t get a job or were laid off – that ‘I am bad’. Men take great pride in their ability to weather any storm. We can’t talk about our feelings; that would be even worse. Most would rather die than admit that they are weak,” he says.

Mannermaa says the male sex is lost in contemporary society, where their value is no longer measured by how well they have hunted for their family or built a shelter from the cold. Modern-day man is expected to have some level of emotional intelligence, both at work and in the home.

“Our modern age is becoming less cognitive (knowledge-based) and more emotive (feelings-based). Few men are well-enough equipped for this,” says Mannermaa.

The leader loses his pack

It is important for humans to feel as if they belong to a group. Mannermaa says that boys learn at a young age already that it is better not to show weakness when they are surrounded by their male friends because they could stand the risk of being excluded from the group or bullied.

“Being one of the gang is so important to men that it takes precedence over everything else,” he says.

Male shame is something many men who have reached middle-age struggle with. Many continue to struggle as they grow older. Younger men, on the other hand, are more adept at recognising and talking about their feelings.

“This situation must surely be changing because men won’t manage unless it does,” Mannermaa says optimistically.

Your indoor amusement park

Psychologist Lauri Mannermaa has specialised in the treatment of men in his practice. He encourages men to explore their inner selves.

Getting to know yourself better improves your quality of life, he says. It also improves the quality of life of the people close to you. It is particularly important that growing boys learn to identify and talk about their feelings.

“Each of us has a very rich world inside of us. To explore our inner selves is like taking a trip around the world.”

“It’s like an amusement park that is somehow closed to us men. We don’t understand that we’ve just been strolling along the perimeter.”

HealthAsbestos Related Diseases by akanke79(op): 9:42pm On Nov 28, 2015
Asbestos cancers are caused by inhalation or ingestion of large amounts of toxic asbestos fibers. Besides mesothelioma and lung cancer, asbestos exposure can lead to other serious, potentially fatal diseases.

While the term “asbestos cancer” most often refers to mesothelioma, a number of other cancers are associated with asbestos exposure. Lung cancer can be directly caused by asbestos exposure, and some studies have suggested a link between exposure and other types of cancer. Elevated risks for a number of other cancers continue to be investigated. According to the World Health Organization, approximately half of all deaths from occupational cancer are caused by asbestos.

In a large study of 1,047 asbestos industry employees, a malignant tumor was listed as the official cause of death for 208 workers. Respiratory cancers (primarily in the bronchus, trachea or lung) made up the majority of the cancer deaths, followed by cancers of the digestive organs and peritoneum, the lining of the abdomen.

Causes, Risk Factors and Incidence

As its name suggests, asbestos cancers are caused by the inhalation or ingestion of asbestos. When these toxic fibers enter the body, they can cause genetic changes in healthy mesothelial cells. Over time, healthy mesothelial cells develop DNA damage that leads to cancer. Asbestos exposure is practically the primary cause and risk factor for mesothelioma, while lung cancer can be caused by smoking cigarettes or exposure to radon.

Although smoking exacerbates any potential symptoms that asbestos-related diseases may display, it does not increase your risk of developing mesothelioma if you've been exposed to asbestos. Smoking combined with asbestos exposure does greatly increase the risk of developing lung cancer. Other factors that may affect a person's overall health and risk of developing cancer following exposure may include a lifestyle low in exercise, high in stress and poor dietary choices.

Be Watchful of Symptoms

People with a history of asbestos exposure need to watch out for signs and symptoms of cancer in their bodies. Around 20 percent of persons exposed to asbestos will go on to develop a related disease, and in most cases the disease will affect the lungs. As a result, they should be especially mindful of their lung health and function. Difficulty breathing, shortness of breath, coughing and chest pain are symptoms of asbestosis, lung cancer, laryngeal cancer and pleural mesothelioma.

Symptoms that affect the pelvis, abdomen and digestive system could be signs of peritoneal mesothelioma, gastrointestinal cancer, colorectal cancer, kidney cancer and ovarian cancer. Be watchful of abdominal swelling and pain, digestion issues, changes in bowl habits and nausea. Women should be mindful of menstrual changes, pain during sex, back pain and fatigue, because these are symptoms of ovarian cancer.

K) REWARDS AFTER DEATH

While the life span of a Muslim is short, and deeds and actions stop after death, a Muslim may continue to earn rewards for certain things even after his death.

Good deeds, such as perpetual charity, are the ones that follow him a Muslim (Get the rewards), even while the person is in the grave, such deeds like: useful knowledge, a good child that prays for him, a Mosque that he built, teaching Quran to another person, a house he built for public use, a water fountain or a river that he rented and made it free for people, or a charity that he gave during his life while he was in good health; all are rewardable even after death.

In this respect the Prophet (P.B.U.H) said : "After the death of a person his actions stop, except three things that he leaves behind : First continuos charity, Second a knowledge from which some benefit may be obtained, Third a virtuous son who makes Dua’ (Pray, supplicate) on his behalf " (Muslim).

Charity will benefit the deceased, as the following Hadiths show : " A man came to the Prophet (P.B.U.H) and asked him : " My father died leaving wealth but no will, would he be pardoned if a charity is given on his behalf ?", the Prophet (P.B.U.H) answered: "Yes" (Muslim).

Another Hadith : " A man came to the Prophet (P.B.U.H) and asked him :" My mother has died without making up for a missed days of fasting in the month of Ramadan, can I fast for her ? " , the Prophet (P.B.U.H) said to him : " Would you pay her debt if she owed someone ? ". The man said : " Yes", then the Prophet (P.B.U.H) said : " Then Allah is more deserving of payment in settlement of his debt" "( Bukhari & Muslim).

Ibn Abbas reported that : " A woman came to the Prophet (P.B.U.H) and said :" My mother had vowed to perform Hajj ( Pilgrimage), but she died before she could fulfill her vow, should I do it on her behalf ? " , the Prophet (P.B.U.H) said to him :" Yes perform Hajj on her behalf. Would you not pay the debt of your mother if she had owed someone ?, fulfill it. Allah is more deserving of receiving payment for what is due to Allah" " ( Bukhari & Muslim).

So from the previous authentic Hadiths there are generally three things that benefit the dead:

1) Charity; Continuous Charity ;

2) A knowledge left by the deceased from which some benefit may be obtained;

3) A virtuous son or daughter who makes Dua’ (Pray, supplicate) on the deceased’s behalf, or perform duties that the deceased did not do during his lifetime such as fasting missed days or Hajj, or pay his debts.

People put flowers, candles, food, perfume, on the grave all of this will not benefit the deceased.

L) VISITING THE CEMETERY

In the beginning of Islam, Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) advised Muslim males not to visit the cemeteries, but after that he the Prophet(P.B.U.H.) gave them the permission to visit the cemetery to remind them of the hereafter.

This is based on the Hadith of the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) : " I advised you not to visit the cemetery, but from now you may visit the cemetery, it will remind you of the hereafter " ( Muslim).

All scholars have no dispute about the point that it is prohibited for Muslim females to frequently visit the cemetery. This is due to the authentic Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H.) who said : " May Allah curse the women who are frequently visiting the cemetery " (Authentic, Termithi).

But if the visit is not frequent , most scholars say it is Makrouh ( Hated action ), while other scholars say it is permissible for Muslim females to visit the cemetery provided that the visit is not frequent and it is for the sole purpose of remembering death and hereafter.

When Muslim females visit the cemetery, they should wear proper clothes, no make-up or perfume, they should not cry loudly or say words of discontent or behave unislamically .

The purpose of visiting the cemetery is to remember the fact that everyone is going to die and that we must prepare for the day of judgment.

Visiting the cemetery benefits the dead too, since the visitors will make dua’ (supplicate) for the dead to forgive his sins and have mercy on him.

NOTE:

There is no Islamic teaching of visiting the grave after three days, or seven days, or twenty days, or forty days.

There is no Islamic teaching of visiting the grave of the parents every Friday.

There is no Islamic teaching of visiting the grave any special days such as Eid days, Ashura day, or Ramadan.

There is no Islamic teaching of reading the Quran during the visit to the cemetery.

There is no Islamic teaching of wiping hands over the grave, or kissing the grave.

THIS IS ONLY A QUICK LOOK AT THIS FINAL JOURNEY. A MATURE PERSON BEFORE TAKING ANY TRIP SHOULD PREPARE ALL THAT IS NEEDED TO HAVE A SAFE JOURNEY, AND SINCE NO ONE KNOWS WHEN THIS JOURNEY WILL START, THEN IT BECOMES LOGICAL TO GET READY RIGHT AWAY.

PROPHET MUHAMMAD (P.B.U.H.) SAID IN AN AUTHENTIC HADITH " BE IN THIS WORLD AS A TRAVELER OR STRANGER "

(BUKHARI).

ALLAH SAYS IN THE QURAN: " EVERYONE SHALL TASTE DEATH. AND ONLY ON THE DAY OF RESURRECTION SHALL YOU BE PAID YOUR WAGES IN FULL. AND WHOEVER IS REMOVED AWAY FROM THE FIRE AND ADMITTED TO THE PARADISE, INDEED THIS PERSON ATTAINED SUCCESS, AND THIS LIFE IS ONLY ENJOYMENT OF DECEPTION " (QURAN 29:57).

FINALLY ONE FAMOUS POET SAID : " WHEN YOU ARE BORN, YOU WERE CRYING WHILE OTHER PEOPLE WERE VERY HAPPY, SO MAKE SURE THAT WHEN YOU DIE, YOU BE VERY HAPPY, WHILE OTHERS CRY."

J) THE EDDA (WAITING PERIOD) OF MUSLIM WIDOWS (FEMALES)

Upon hearing the news of the death of her husband, a Muslim wife should be steadfast and patient. Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) said : " Patience (Endurance ) is to be present from the first shock " (Muslim).

Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) said : " Allah says: I have no better reward than Paradise for a believer servant of Mine who is patient and resigned when I take away one of his/her beloved, one among those he/she most cherishes in the world " (Bukhari).

She should accept all that Allah plans for her and her family with sincerity and patience, as Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) said : " When a person suffers from some calamity and supplicates: ‘ Inna lil-la-he wa inna ilay he ra je oon’,‘ to Allah we belong and to Allah shall we return’, O Allah make good the loss in this calamity, and grant me something good, Allah then compensates him/her for the loss, and give a better substitute" (Muslim).

It is prohibited to express grief by wailing, shrieking, beating the chest or cheeks, tearing hair or clothes, or saying phrases that makes a Muslim lose faith.

Um Atiyyah reports : " The Messenger of Allah made us pledge that we will not wail over the dead" (Bukhari & Muslim). {see page 8,9}.

Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) said : " I detest a woman who cries out very loudly, or shaves her hair, or tears her clothes when a beloved one dies " (Bukhari & Muslim).

She may cry, as the Prophet did when his son died. He said :" The eyes are shedding tears and the heart is grieved, and we will not say except what pleases our Lord" (Bukhari).

Allah in the Quran prescribed the Edda (Waiting period) for those wives whose husbands die : " And those of you who die and leave wives behind them, they (The wives) shall wait for four months and ten days "(Quran 2:234).

Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) said in an authentic Hadith : "It is prohibited for a woman who believes in Allah and the day of judgment to mourn a dead person more than three days except her husband, in which case it is four months and ten days" (Bukhari).

Edda is prescribed for widows in order to mourn the death of their husbands, observe their memory, fulfill any obligations toward them, and to see if the widow is pregnant or not.

In the following authentic Hadith, Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) explains the way that she should conduct herself during this time.

Um Atiyyah reported that the Messenger of Allah said : "A woman should not mourn for any deceased person for more than three days, except in the case of her husband’s death, which she may mourn for a period of four months and ten days. Such a woman in mourning is not to wear any fancy, bright clothes, but only plain clothes, not use any adornment or make-up, nor use perfume, nor die her hands or feet with Henna " (Bukhari & Muslim).

If the widow is pregnant, then her waiting period ends when she delivers her baby, according to Allah’s command in the Quran : " And for those who are pregnant, their Edda is until they deliver " (Quran 65:4).

DURATION OF EDDA

PREGNANT Until delivery

NOT PREGNANT Four Months and Ten Days

So a widow during the Edda should :
Stay in her home, and only leave when it is necessary.

Sleep in her home.

Not wear fancy, bright clothes.

Not wear jewelry.

Not use makeup including eyeliners (kohol).

Not use perfume.

THIS TIME IS NOT TO DEPRIVE HERSELF FROM LAWFUL THINGS, OR TO SUFFER MORE THAN A HUMAN COULD BEAR. IT IS TIME TO REMEMBER ALL THE MEMORIES OF HER HUSBAND, MAKE DUA’ FOR HIM, THINK ABOUT HERSELF, AND PLAN FOR THE FUTURE.
