Comparing the RX 480 4GB and the RX 470 4GB both from sapphire and using Battlefield 1 as a benchmark at 1080P, the RX 480 was only 8% faster but cost 20% more. Similar performance at 1080p for other titles too.

I've compared the fastest processor in the Core M series with an i7-5500U as the Core M only has 2C/4T. They both operate very closely in performance as we see the boost clocks are very similar...where the Core M is desirable is power consumption so you laptop will run cooler 15W of the core i7 and 4.5W for the core M

Hi, guys a midway update as all the core components have arrived. So what do we have

CPU: We found a very good deal on the i5-6600 for the price of the i5-6400 so this was pretty much a no-brainer. The i5-6600 is a 4C/4T(4 core, 4 threads) CPU with a base clock of 3.3GHz and boost to 3.9GHz with a TDP ( Thermal Design Power) of 65W and will be more than enough for 1080P gaming and light video editing. We decided to go for the non-K series as there are no plans to do any overclocking. Getting a non-K series CPU influenced the choice of the motherboard, a non-Z series motherboard.

I bought my Logitech PC speaker used in 2004 and they still work till now...and I've owned the 2nd gen iPod which I bought new in 2003 from Apple with 1year warranty which died after 18months.

So my friend everything na gamble...my advise is be informed so you can choose a good used product if one can't afford new.

As a rule of thumb, the quality in a product can be gauged by how many years the manufacturer can guarantee their product should be defect free.

How much is it costing you?

Akbliv I don't use any specialized means of checking the refresh rate. On the Call of Duty 5 World at War, it was easy for me to decipher the refresh rate, from the settings screen, under texture, in the image above, there is where i can adjust the refresh rate you would see something like 60Hz. But for PES16 you will observe I didn't specify any refresh rate the game ran at all. So How do you check your refresh rates for all games??

I use FRAPS - simple tool to use, it can also create a spread sheet..you'll find some tutorials about it on youtube if you get stuck but it's quite intuitive.

Can do, I'll download the games and try them in the next few days, although I'm almost certain witcher 3 won't run smoothly as I've got that on my main gaming rig and it's a very demanding game.
