The stop rate for 364 days tenor was 17.75% ... This, I think impacted the rates... Lucky I bidded last auction... The era if 18% plus is gone ooo... Best catch the tide of this 17% lest it goes again.. NL1960: You have a point. Let us see the rates from other banks as i do not want to believe that the banks have formed a TB Union so as to be bidding at about the same rate.
Who has the rates for GTB and First Bank?. |

What is the rate on offer? punae: please experts in the house.. in need of advice... Uba were unable to rollover my investment due to excuses I cannot understand but they are offering 323 days tenor at the secondary market or I should bear with them and wait for the next auction...which of the suggestion is business wise? |

My Ogas please no fall my hand!!!Alikote: Thank you so much, you made it simple and understandable. I asked my boss about TB yesterday and he said he won't do it again, that he did 1M for 91 days and all he got was 30 something thousand. I think he is not aware that the 13% was being divided into 4 and the the remaining 3/4 will be given to him after 364 days...THIS IS THE POST I WAS referring too but Nigerians with hostile orientation can not hear other people view |

Bro.. Yes back to the matter... Please someone analyse the below. https://www.thecable.ng/bad-outing-bonds-investors-shun-auctionsThe last Bond auction was largely under-subscribed, according to the DMO. Hope this will not cause the upcoming NTB auction to be over-subscribed, thereby bringing down the discount rates. zamirikpo: ... In other news....what r the projections for next auctions and even for next year. Because as it is ,we r all in the business called The MONEY MARKET. |

My Oga, anyway you want to look at it, You are a figure of reference on this thread like so many of my Ogas. I believe we all are learning from this thread like you said (Probably why I never close the tab on my browser). Nonetheless, I duff my heart. TONY56: PLEASE O. I have said it before that I am not a Guru at all. We are all learning from each other and I honestly don't see anything that qualifies me as a Guru as I have also been learning one thing or the other from so many people on this forum. The catch is to submit before the auction date being wednesday, but to be on a safe side, it is good you give them ample to process your request... Monday in the morning should not be too late. I submitted my last bid on a Monday at stanbic... Hope this helps. And please I don't think I qualify as a Guru when my Ogas like TONY56 et al. are present Gavrelino123: gurus please,,,Is Monday late to submit for the Primary Auction for GTBANK...? Will 364 days be available..? I need to make a decision now... Please when is the deadline of submitting my instructions for NTB for the Next Primary Market AUCTION.., I'M banking with GTBANK....!!! |

And assuming the person does not die in 27 yrs! rationalmind: If one invests 5m at a true yield of 22% over a span of 27 years, one becomes a billionaire.(Assuming rates remain the same on average. i:e for every corresponding decrease in true yield, there's a corresponding increase)

That's about 17.5 for 182 days ijeshaboy: oga out of 1 m they left 87,000 Amira in my account so calculate it, after deducting close to 500naira. |

And what rate were you given after that? Topiipii: I am beginning to see them as crooks; I went to the head office last week and they couldn't get me the available rates, I went the following day with the same outcome. In the end, I had to write a letter telling them to give me something around 91 days tenor at available rate as directed by the person that attended to me. |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by AkDave1: 8:20pm On Aug 16, 2017 |
My thoughts exactly! Winneygirl: call deposits are for people who do not want to tie down their money for a fixed term. They can choose to terminate at any time. 3days,13 days, in fact, next day. Any day at all without any penalty to you. So the banks cannot offer high rates for an unstable investment. If this was not your intention, then you should re-evaluate your options. 6% is actually really really really good for your call deposit. |

We cannot compare the two.. they are two fundamentally different instruments.. All I am saying is that it is still better than savings, where your money accrue lesser rates. Magnifico2000: So u think it is btter than NTB? |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by AkDave1: 5:22pm On Aug 16, 2017 |
I do not think it is low, considering that it is Call Deposit... You can use your money anytime you need it... Magnifico2000: So every 2weeks u will actually receive 12,500. A month will be 25k.. that interest is low mehn... |
Investment › Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by AkDave1: 6:07pm On Aug 14, 2017 |
Well said! chukzyfcbb: I still don't agree with you, The true yield of treasury bills is still above inflation rate, so to the savvy investors even a stop rate of 16.5% is still good because the true yield could be 17%+. And Also, inflation is also dropping gradually, so it will tell on the stop rates overtime.
Now speaking of investors, we don't know the ratio or volume of amount from foreign investors that's in Tbills, if the bond is issued to them at say 7%, they will grab it, because upon any further devaluation of the naira, the foreign investors will gain more should they convert the proceeds to naira.
so its a win-win situation. According to the DMO(Debt management office) The ratio of Local:Foreign debt is presently at 83:14. The medium to long term strategy is to lower this to the agreed 60:40 ratio.
As for the rates I don't see it going high this year, its time to appease the foreigners so they can bring in enough dollars that our govt will use for election ,lol
The more dollars, the more improved our exchange rate. The less the MPR rates, the cheaper the loans accessible to people.
connect the dots! |

Lol... I understand your point. What I'm projecting is that, following the skepticism that might trail the announcement of this new Policy, the CBN might need to entice the NTB subscribers, by further upping the Stop rates. So the 19% is a possibility (Best case scenario). Just saying... chukzyfcbb: 19%? Haha I understand you are Rates hungry but common that's not realistic, haven't you noticed that Tbills has bee dropping gradually? 19% is far-fetched and cannot happen atleast not this year |
