Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has
challenged President Muhammadu Buhari to
prosecute the Yobe State Independent National
Electoral Commission (INEC) Resident Electoral
Commissioner (REC), Abu Zarma, who was alleged to
have received N15 million bribe to influence the Yobe
State Governorship election.
The governor said it was only when that is done that
the President’s fight against corruption can enjoy the
needed credibility, adding that; “If nothing is done on
a case as clear as that of the INEC REC, Nigerians can
as well kiss President Buhari anti-corruption fight
goodbye.”
In a release issued by his Special Assistant on Public
Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka,
Governor Fayose said it was worrisome that despite
that details of the two bank accounts of the INEC REC,
which showed that N15 million was lodged into his
accounts few days to the April 11 election was
admitted as evidence by the Governorship Election
Petition Tribunal in the state, the REC has not been
charged to court.
He said; “It is on record that two officials of Diamond
Bank Plc and Zenith Bank Plc, tendered exhibits
confirming the payment of N15 million into the REC’s
accounts by the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to Yobe State
Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, Assistant Superintendent
of Police, Zakari Deba.
“The ADC allegedly paid N8 million into the Diamond
Bank account of the INEC REC and N7 million into his
Zenith Bank accounts on April 8, 2015, three days
before the governorship election. As at the time the
N8 million was paid into the Diamond Bank account,
only N28, 000 was in the account.
“Why then is the Yobe INEC REC not being tried yet?
Why has he not been charged to court?
“If the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission
(EFCC) is foot-dragging on the arraignment of the
INEC REC and the governor’s ADC, why hasn’t
President Buhari directed the Police to commence
the prosecution?
“Therefore, in the spirit of President Buhari’s fight
against corruption, the Yobe State INEC REC and the
ADC that paid the bribe into his bank accounts should
be charged to court without further delay. This is
more so that there are credible evidence(s) lending
credence to the fact that the REC actually took bribe
to influence the Yobe election.
“This is also important so as to further sanitise the
electoral system for more credible elections.
“Anything other than this will mean that the
President’s anti-corruption fight is only against some
people while others, especially those related to the
President either by tribe, religion or political party
are sacred cows.” |

A former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, says Nigeria has refused to develop because it was built on a ‘satanic’ foundation. The former minister said this in a Facebook post titled, ‘Lord Lugard’s Magic and Flora Shaw’s Spell.’ Fani-Kayode, who also served as the Minister of Tourism under former President Olusegun Obasanjo, said the manner with which Nigeria was created in 1914 was the reason the country was still struggling. He said both Lord Fredrick Lugard, who was the first Governor-General of Nigeria; and his wife, Flora Shaw (later Flora Lugard), who gave Nigeria its name, were worshippers of Satan. Fani-Kayode said, “It is generally agreed though not commonly admitted that both Lugard and Flora Shaw were Luciferians who practised the black arts and all manner of satanic rituals. “He (Lugard) was a ‘High Priest of the Freemasons’ whilst they were both avid followers of Aleister Crowley, the leading satanist of his day and the self-styled ‘world’s most wicked man.’” “This explains a lot. It also explains why Shaw gave us the name Nigeria – a name which has questionable roots. Anyone that doubts this should consider the literal translation of Nigeria into Latin: it means “the area of darkness” and there is a deep spiritual and mystical reason why she gave us that name. “It comes with a lot of baggage because not much good can come out of an area of darkness.” Fani-Kayode, who was the spokesperson for former President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign organisation, said most of the African countries that were colonised by Britain had since changed their names. He said only Sudan and Nigeria refused to change their names and that was why they were still struggling. He added, “Most of the former British colonies changed their names after independence for similar reasons but because most of our leaders in Nigeria were not aware of these matters, they refused to do so. “Lugard and Shaw were an unlikely couple who had no children. What held them together was more spiritual and mystical than anything else and Nigeria and Sudan are their joint legacy to the world. “Sadly, both countries are having major challenges today. Sudan has broken into two after a protracted and bitter civil war while Nigeria is experiencing serious regional, ethnic and religious tensions. It is clear that our nation needs a good deal of prayers. May God deliver us from Lord Lugard’s magic and his beautiful wife’s spell.” Fani-Kayode said Nigeria was created such that the North could rule forever while the resources of the South would continually be exploited. The former minister said it was a miracle that Nigeria had only witnessed one civil war since it gained independence in 1960. He argued that the only thing that had kept Nigeria united was the oil in the Niger Delta as well as the strength, patience and collective will of the people. He said, “This was his (Lugard’s) vision: a northern Nigeria that was essentially the ‘head of the household’ and that would remain in control of all the powers and resources of the state and a southern Nigeria that would play the role of a passive and subservient wife whose destiny it was to remain in perpetual subjugation and bondage. “The truth is that the British colonialists were masters of divide and rule. The amalgamation of the southern and northern protectorates was a Greek gift which was designed to fail and to crumble at the appropriate time. Nigerians have done well to have held it together for so long and the fact that we have only experienced one civil war is miraculous.” http://www.punchng.com/news/nigeria-is-built-on-satanic-foundation-says-fani-kayode/ |

Pope Francis announced new procedures on Tuesday to make it easier for Roman Catholics to obtain marriage annulments, a change intended to streamline a process long criticised by many Catholics as too cumbersome, complicated and expensive, The New York Times reports. Under the new rules, the process will be much faster for cases in which a couple is not contesting the annulment. Such cases had required two separate judgments from a diocesan tribunal. Now, the process, overseen by local bishops, will require only one judgment. Moreover, the new rules require that the hearing process be held within 30 days of application, eliminating a longer waiting period. Francis is also instructing Catholic bishops to be more welcoming to divorced or separated Catholics “who have abandoned the church.” Local dioceses will be asked to establish commissions to reach out to couples seeking annulments. Francis outlined the new rules in two papal letters, known in Latin as Motu Proprio, or personal administrative decrees. In speeding up the annulment process, Francis is trying to make the church more merciful and responsive to the needs of Catholics, yet he does not want to appear to be encouraging divorce. Francis wrote that his new rules “do not favor the nullity of marriages, but the expedition of trials, as well as a just simplification.” The Catholic Church is a misogynist tribe that officially defines women as inferior. This new supposedly forward-thinking chieftain has no… Divorce is a topic that has long splintered many of the Catholic faithful from the church. Under church law, marriage is indissoluble, and divorce is not recognized. Yet many Catholics are divorced, especially in the Western world, and the divide between reality on the ground and church dogma has alienated many. Many Catholics had been watching closely to see how Francis would address the issue of annulments as part of a broader debate about whether the church should allow divorced and remarried Catholics to receive the sacraments such as communion. The church has long offered an annulment process in which a marriage can be declared invalid if the husband or wife can prove the union failed to meet certain requirements. In August 2014, Francis appointed a commission to study the best way to overhaul the annulment process. The new rules allow local bishops to establish tribunals to hear annulment cases. The tribunals should consist of three members, ideally clerics, although the rules allow a bishop to appoint up to two lay members of the diocese to a tribunal. |
Niger-Delta militants The men of the Nigerian military are to take over the security of the nation’s oil pipelines. The Acting Director, Defence Information, Col. Rabe Abubakar, who said in a statement on Tuesday, added that the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Dr. Emmanuel Kachikwu, met with the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Gabriel Olonisakin, on how to work out modalities to get the military to protect the strategic national assets. He quoted the NNPC’s GMD as having said that he visited the CDS as a follow up to a proposal the corporation presented to President Muhammadu Buhari, to have the Army Corps of Engineering to maintain and secure the nation’s pipelines. Abubakar also quoted the NNPC’s GMD as having said that the corporation was taking a holistic step to ensure that the best hands were used to protect the pipelines. He said that the NNPC was also engaging the services of the Navy and the Air Force in collaborative efforts to secure the nation’s pipelines and to prevent the theft of the country’s oil. Abubakar said that Kachikwu solicited for the support of the CDS in the fight against crude oil theft, pipeline vandalism and other maritime crime. He was said to have told the CDS that the NLC was making moves to procure more boats for the Navy for patrol operations and trackers for the monitoring of vessels coming into the country. Kachikwu was also quoted as saying that the NNPC had also reached out to the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar, on the issue. “We are trying to equip the Navy a lot more with boats for patrols; we are trying to get trackers and central system to be able to monitor every vessel that comes in and out of the country. “We have equally spoken with the Chief of Air Staff on other effective ways of collaboration,” he was quoted as having said. The NNPC’s GMD was said to have told the CDS that the country was losing 250,000 barrels of crude oil per day which was one-fifth of the total production in the country. Kachikwu, who called for more efforts to address the incident of crude of theft, said that the ugly trend had reduced since he became the GMD of the NNPC. http://www.punchng.com/news/pipeline-security-soldiers-to-replace-ex-militants/ |
