Politics › Re: Army Soldiers Force Muslim To Drink Gutter Water Creates Problems In North by AkinDavid2: 10:54am On Aug 05, 2013 |
biafranqueen: NewsRescue- Riots broke out at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nyanya, Karu area Abuja, FCT after soldiers on guard at the Church humiliated a fasting Muslim commercial driver, commanding him to frog-jump in front of the Church and then to drink filthy water from the gutter because he was fasting. According to reports gathered, the Hausa Muslim commercial driver, dropped off a Christian Church goer at the Church. He was said to have parked unknowingly at a deignated parking spot, this provoked the soldiers to pounce on him and as is common in Nigeria, where law enforcement officers are known for their psychopathic shows of power, he was pulled from his ride and degraded. According to SaharaReporters, the man died from the torture he received. Mobs, including fellow transporters quickly gathered and broke out in riots in the vicinity of the Church, damaging cars. The mobs were fended off by the soldiers on guard who fired live rounds to disperse the angry crowds and allow Church members go home. According to Babajaje Abdullahi, a local of Karu area, of FCT, where the incident occurred, the area is Muslim predominant and there has never been any bombing or attack on Churches there, so he just could not understand the extreme application of force by the soldiers on guard against the innocent commercial driver who was reportedly killed from police brutality and torture.
Extreme discipline is advised, the case is a case of army brutality and not a case of Muslim-Christian animosity. All efforts should be made to bring the security officers implicated to full justice, if such exists and is possible in Nigeria.
http://newsrescue.com/riots-at-st-marys-church-karu-abuja-after-soldiers-force-fasting-muslim-to-drink-gutter-water/#axzz2b35j9EAH Don't just jump and paste unconfirmed reports by most of this reporters. What really happened was that the Hausa guy in question was found with a dagger and was questioned but refused to give satisfactory reasons to the army personnel who went on to ask him to do frog jump in front of the church. The Hausa guy was later released but went to reinforce his other Okada riders who were mostly of the same faith and they argued that why will the military guy punish a man that was fasting. The okada riders came in their hundreds threatening to kill the Military guy and at the same time burn down the church. If not for the prompt act of this military guys the whole story would have been different by now. I wonder at how the Police decline intervening and claim they didn't receive any order to intervene. |

AbdH: Isn't it obvious that the girl refuses to follow her dad home because she knows how intolerant her Christian dad is of people of other faith..whether they are family or not? Christians say that Muslims don't want to be Christians because they will be killed by Muslims while I believe that Christians don't want to be Muslims because they will either be killed or turned to outcasts by Christians. I still maintain that Muslims are more tolerant than Christians and I advise that the girl should not go with her dad unless she wants to die in regret. I hope you are not having mental fever when you typed this? |

dahmie2013: The professor, who was a former director of the bank before it was taken over in 2009, described the trial as an “injustice”.
He said there had been a premeditated plan to “steal Bank PHB Plc by government officials” long before the CBN’s assessment in 2009, which adjudged the bank to be under distress.
Utomi said, “I was told that if Atuche was removed that it would be acceptable to CBN and that Bank PHB would be left intact.
“The person that told me is the current CBN Governor. He was a very good friend of mine until recently when these injustices were being carried out. I began to talk openly when the injustice was becoming glaring.”
Utomi, who was led in evidence by Atuche’s counsel, Chief Anthony Idigbe (SAN), said the plot to get Atuche out of the way was so grave that petition on minor allegations of cheque kiting was being sent to the Presidency.

Symphony007: Now, distinguished ladies and gentlemen of nairaland, this is a very harmless observation and i want your opinion on it. I am not expressing any sentiment or implying anything.
When some governors taught to be loyal to the president in the goernors forum rebelled against ameachi and declared jonah jang new chairman of the nigerian governours forum, pres. Jonathan was in ethopia.
Since then, no major crisi has rocked ameachi, now while the president is away in china, some members of the rivers state legislature attempted to impeach the speaker of the house and make one of their own speaker in order to impeach the governour.
Are these deliberate ploys or just co-incidents. @OP in statistics you can not use a data out of numerous samples to deduce an inference. By the way if i may ask, why is your Dad always at work when you are been bullied when you were young? |
