Your response was on point. You know, you always have trolls that come here and spew a lot of arrant nonsense, especially when our ladies lose a nail biter, like this one against the reigning World Champions! Immature, uniformed people who just want to be heard, in spite of continuously making illogical sense. Please, let them have their 2 secs of fame. They will disappear as fast as they came here shortly. skallion7: 4 Likes 1 Share |

She has an opportunity to develop at her current club in order that she be deemed good enough to play for the SF. Right now, she is not there. Let her develop without the added pressure of playing at the SF level. codemaniacs: Not true. Maduka did not need to SE to make his move to Holland, where, through hard work, he excelled. His stint with SE played little or no factor in his move from Watford to Udinese (where he was a bench warmer), until through his hard work and perseverance, he became the Udine #1 and became one of the better keepers in Serie A. codemaniacs: At the expense of who? Much better players? That is a recipe for disaster. That is NOT how you build solid national teams. codemaniacs: |

Let me get this straight... This lady joined Nantes as a Div 2 team, was instrumental in getting them to Div 1 but then turns around, just days before the Div 1 league season kicks off and decides to rejoin her previous team who are still wallowing in Div 2? How on earth does this make any sense If her decision was based on financial rewards, wouldn't joining the Saudi League make better sense? Looks to me she was scared of challenging herself and came to the conclusion that she simply wasn't good enough for Div 1. BTW, seems you're the only one who refers to her as Naija's Wendie Renard. The Wendie Renard I know would never back away from a good challenge. This lady just did! She definitely is NOT good enough for the challenges of international football. Good luck to her in her quest to be sub-par! Deltamani: 3 Likes |

Iffy’s selection makes perfect sense! It’s all about VERSATILITY, and not a perfect fit. Iffy can play on the wings (allowing Ajibade to play in the midfield), and can play in the midfield, not to mention her ability to play striker. She falls back to defend and understands the shape and setup of the team. So, she is someone who maps well into the team. Otu is too much of a one dimensional player - can only play as a central midfielder- either DM and very limited as an AM. Also, you only get to pick from your list of initial alternates first. Randy had initially invited Alani to a camp, alongside Abiodun, Imuran and Onyenezide about 2 yrs ago. she couldnt make, due to an injury. He had always had an eye on her. As part of the alternates, he can see how she maps into the team during focused training sessions over the next 20+ days. Ditto that for McLeans. He had previously walked away from Ihezuo, but she stepped up her game and is now back. Let's see how McLeans does. lovewins: 1 Like |

You seem to have a penchant for misrepresenting the truth. Please show me evidence that I stated that in my previous posts when she first came to light. Its obvious you don't read responses before posting, because I never stated that the last time I saw her play was 'years ago'. This clearly is a figment of your imagination! Get your facts in order, please! This is becoming embarrassing for someone like you. mostob: |

That's assuming she ups her game and performs at the level that warrants her being looked at in those leagues. The problem with you folks is once someone is not as gong-hoo about a player you keep trying to sell as good, you accuse the person of 'not liking' her. Fact: I don't give two hoots about any player. All I care about is if that person is good enough for our Super Falcons and who will enhance the team. That's all I care about. Case in point: 1. Roosa Ariyo - was banging goals in left and right but showed up at the Summer Challenge in Houston and was a complete bust. Never played for Nigeria since because she is not good enough! 2. Chinwendu Ihezuo - played in the Turkish Cup and in the Mexico series (pre-WWC) and was poor. Dropped from the team but was called by Randy to fill roster due to injuries in the Olympic Qualifiers against SA. Played her socks off and deserves to be on the squad. 3. Chidinma Okeke - Watched her play in US Summer series and was totally unimpressed. After a very long hiatus from team, she was invited to play in the Olympic qualifier against SA. Had a barnstorm of a game over the 2 legs. Solid performance and my WoM. She deserves a shot at the Olympic team. 4. Glory Ogbonna - Also watched her play in US Summer series and was hugely disappointed. Received a lot of flack about not liking her when it was obvious she wasn't good enough. She has been absent from the team for a long while now and has been playing in the substandard Turkish league, not being able to perform at more credible leagues. I can go on and on... Again, this is not personal! Its about who is good enough to make a positive impact and clearly, this lady is not. So please, quit trying to sell us a bill of goods! Deltamani: |

Convinient excuse, on your part. Watched her play more times than you can possibly imagine. From her stints in Belarus to Poland to the Russian league, as well as her cameo at the nations cup. Been there, done that. Still does not change my opinion about her - not good enough. Its easy to come across as a super star when playing against sub standard opposition in a less than optimal league. mostob: |

You Nigerians are a funny lot... The days of power football is long gone. The modern game is all about speed, slickness and finishing. That's why the likes of Salma Paralluelo, Trinity Rodman, Sophia Smith, Maria Katoto, Rachel Daly and others are a hot commodity. On the Nigerian front, the likes of Kanu, Ihezuo and Oshoala are thriving, while gra-gra players like Oparanozie, retired, and now her look alike - Macleans, are a thing of the past. Again, speed of thought and pace, slickness and finishing. Enough with this up selling of this lady, please! Sunnyson8: |

Was Gusau really that dumb not to have considered it in the first place? Afterall, Demehin was also injured on international duty for an even greater and more important cause - qualifying for the Olympics, and not some useless friendly game. Deltamani: 4 Likes |

Based on her performance in training sessions during the 2022 WAFCON and her appearance against Botswana, it was obvious she wasn't up to scratch. Not sure what other 'opportunities' you were looking for. You sold us on all the so called attributes for a No. 9 you listed below. But when it was time for her to perform on the big stage, she flubbed. Deltamani: |

I detest that Barca coach, especially with how he was disrespectful to Oshoala and what she had done for Barca. Wouldn't shed a tear if Barca loses across both legs (in fact, I will be elated!) He will also likely fail in his next role, especially here in the US where he is supposedly coming. Deltamani: |

She referred to a 'woman and mother, for that matter', which means it may not be a current player on the SF squad. She seems to be looking for either attention or relevance. She since lost the 'respect' part, when she kept going on and on about being captain of the team, when it was clear the SF had since moved on. Abegi, lets move away from the past and onto modern and more relevant issues. Deltamani: 1 Like |

An absolute disgrace! The level of incompetence at CAF is astounding! This folly lies squarely at the feet of these two people: 1. Meskerem Tadesse Goshime, an Ethiopian and CAF Head of Women's football 2. Samson Adamu, a Nigerian and CAF Director of Competition and Events. Two grossly incompetent people who need to be relieved of their jobs ASAP! naptu2: 3 Likes 1 Share |

I was pleasantly surprised how the likes of Okeke, Alozie and Ucheibe were able to match her stride for stride and in some cases, outpaced her on 50/50 balls. Our defenders deserve more credit for their speed. Impressive. carbonado: 3 Likes |

This is ridiculous! Was Randy responsible for the decline of the SF? Or was it a culmination of years of neglect and a refusal to invest in the women's team by the football authorities? You want to conveniently blame Randy for the plight of the SF, when even a blind person would have seen the writing on the wall. Yet, these dumbass journalists give the authorities a free pass (pretty obvious they are on the take from the NFF). As a journalist, you are free to use your platform (print or free or paid media) to criticize his performance as a coach, or lack thereof. Fact is that Randy Waldrum never stopped you from doing that. But typical of Nigerians journalist (who always think they know it all), they want to come into his personal social media platform (his own personal space) and continue with the abuse and criticism. Yet, when he rightly decides he has had enough of all your baseless nonsense, you decide to b!tch and whine when he blocks off your negative BS? Seriously? Next you will say that these so called journalist should be allowed to come into his home to criticize him. Abeg, give us a break! mostob: 2 Likes |

It’s really funny (actually really sad) how some Nigerians think, that’s if they even think at all. Is goalkeeping not an integral part of a team’s defensive setup? Has there not been a significant decline on the shots on goal faced by Nnadozie since the implementation of this defensive strategy? Do you think Nnadozie wouldn’t be thankful to her defense and team for enabling the shutouts she has had? Or does this fellow think it’s just all her? JohnBullMySon: 4 Likes 1 Share |

Not just clowns, Moronic clowns. It’s okay for them to go around saying disrespectful and hurtful things, calling him a NUGA coach and wanting to pad his CV (even though he is getting peanuts from Nigeria compared to what he had brought to the table) BUT when he rattles their cages a tiny bit, they all come out scampering like the lil’ b!tches they truly are. Someone talked about developing a ‘thick skin’. The same one Iwobi was supposed to have also? Seriously?? RE, like every human being, has the right to block anyone who is not adding value to him, including naysayers who don’t even have the intelligence to admit when they got it wrong. For me, his comments prove to me that he truly and genuinely cares about the SF and this project. He has to make them a world class team. Unfortunately, the world is full of arseholes that want nothing more but to derail the good work being done. daveP: 5 Likes 1 Share |

1. False. Nnadozie has been doing what she is supposed to do as the #1 keeper. The team, especially defense, has also being doing its job. 2. False. Go and watch the match again. As the home team with a few mins left in the match, SA upped its game (something they struggled to do all game long). At no point in time did the SF cede the midfield or any other area to SA during the game. 3. Heck Nah! Please stop trying to force players who are certainly NOT good enough and have a ways to go on our SF team. That girl is a greenhorn at this level and needs to grow. Let her be! codemaniacs: 3 Likes 1 Share |

Okay! I will be the first to stand up and eat humble pie that's due. I said Okeke wasn't impressive from the videos of her I saw playing in Japan. I called her sluggish and heavy and doubted her being invited. Boy - was I wrong. Very wrong! She put in a masterclass performance over the two legs and most especially, today. She stood up to be counted as one of our warriors. My Lady of the Match! Deltamani: 4 Likes |

And still!!!And Still!!! Undefeated in 15 games. That was a masterful, fantastic exhibition in world class defending. That wiley old fox named Randy Waldrum - look how he made the SA team look very ordinary. That first half was just a beauty to behold. Our Naija ladies are now the masters of defence!!
