Nice chapter, setting the plot for the rest of the story. I'm not really a fan of arranged marriages, but it's been working for thousands of years so...

Good one

Well, for your education - every car that is made comes in a combination of options .... Manual or automatic, diesel or petrol/gas. No sane manufacturer will produce only automatic or manual cars. In europe, diesel automatic cars are predominant it will take you a while to find a cluster of automatic/petrol cars as opposed to manual/diesel cars that are all over the place.

Well manufacturers are not sane then, after 2013 most high performance cars come in only automatic! #TeamManual #ReEducation

***still fiction

Madé had just returned inside the house after tying the goats in the frontage. Her father is a civil servant and with the current economic downturn in the country had decided to start rearing goats.

She decided to watch some films which she collected from her friend the previous day. All the chores in the house were done, so she had time to kill.

About four hours later, Bulus the security man ran into the house and was shouting 'they've carried the goats, they've carried the goats'.

People gathered around and Bulus narrated the events.

'Them park outside just next to where the goats were tied and started repairing something in their moto. The moto been no gree start and dem push am front and back. I kukuma help dem push. Small time pass, them send person go buy plug. Me no reason say na thief dem be. So I enter house come dey wash cloth. I come start to hear as the goat dem begin cry "meeeeh meeeeeh". Na im I comot outside go check wetin dey happen. I see say the moto don dey go with all the goat. I for pursue dem but no bike dey pass'.

'Did you get the plate number of the car?' asked one of the residents.

'No, I no get am, but I see their id card and uniform for the moto, na V.I.O them be'

'V.I.O? What nonsense. V.I.O don't go around stealing goats. These are thieves, better go and report at the police station immediately.

Another one bites the dust!

Interesting.
In my state, here in the US, there is no such distinction between an automatic and manual license. Once you're licensed to drive a sedan or minivan (called a "Class C" license), you can drive any type of car.
If you know how right?..lol

Lol.
They always come up with this analogy.
Does it play out like this in reality? How many people around you have manuals that it will be the only car available? cheesy

Funny...it's simple one of my neighbours his wife learnt with auto, so one day (don't know his mind) he went out with her car. She couldn't go out even though there was a car to use. Why? It was manual.

When I was serving one of my corper friends in the office wanted to pack to a new place. She was able to get a staff to loan her his hilux. She could drive oh (auto), hilux was manual, I would have helped but busy, in the end she had to get a driver from the office to assist her.

It is very simple goan drive the manual... just comman be running mouth here!

Anyways some individuals love the excitement of driving a manual car either for recreation or just admiration for the system.

It doesn't make an automatic driver less of a driver but in my opinion driving an automatic is fun too, but can be very boring and considered a lazy man's job by some

After a long time enjoying my manual, I drove an automatic and almost killed myself, "stepped on the break so hard thinking it was the clutch".

Perfect oyinbo engineering... u don't see supper cars with complete automatic shift cos the driver needs to feel that power!
Most new model super cars are auto (without manual option) because of efficiency & customer demand. But you can't really drive if someone gives you a key & you have to ask what kind of transmission the car uses.
I learnt with manual & auto came naturally, can't say the same for auto peeps...they'll just burn your clutch, or run into whatever is in front when starting the car.

pocohantas, enjoy your automatic (you can move your car to anywhere you like) but if you want versatility learn manual also

'we have been too docile as a people'

I totally agree with this part of her statement. We have been unaware of the power of the people for way too long.
