This is very old news. why is it making FP now? sarrki: Boko Haram terrorists ambush Army Chief's advance teamAugust 22, 2015
Nigerian military to close markets in Borno, Yobe where Boko Haram tradesFebruary 10, 2016
An unknown number of Nigerian soldiers are yet to be accounted for after an ambush by Boko Haram insurgents in a community in Borno State, the army has said.
The army said it was battling to save the lives of 19 other soldiers injured during the clash on Thursday. Operatives of the Civilian-JTF, embedded with the military squad, were also badly injured in the deadly encounter in a village called Nguro Gongon.
The spokesman of the Nigeria army, Sani Usman, said the injured soldiers have been evacuated to Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, while a rescue team was deployed to go searching for the missing soldiers.
He did not say how many soldiers were missing.
“Today morning, troops on clearance patrol at Guro Gongon village and environs to rout out remnants of Boko Haram terrorists hibernating therein, destroyed the terrorists’ makeshift camps and recovered quite a number of weapons, equipment and foodstuff in the process,” Mr. Usman, a colonel and acting director of army public relations, said.
“The recovered items include 1 Gun truck mounted with an Anti-Aircraft Gun, a MOWAG Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC), 1 Rocket Propelled Grenade Tube, 1 Light Machine Gun, 3 AK-47 rifles and motorcycles.
“However, the gallant soldiers basking on the recorded success, returning to their defensive locations, ran into an ambush by a group of Boko Haram terrorists who came to reinforce their fleeing comrades. The troops fought back gallantly killing several of the insurgents.
“Sadly however, 19 soldiers and 3 civilian JTF members were wounded in action while a few others were missing in action.
“The wounded have been evacuated and are responding to treatment, while a search and rescue party comprising of Special Forces personnel has since been dispatched to establish contact with the missing in action troops, some of whom, as at the time of filing this report, have started returning to their defensive location.
“It is pertinent to state that, no stone would be left unturned until every person involved in the operation has been accounted for,” he said.

smileysmiley: op if I start to list the things popsy did to us when we were growing up ehn, you'll know that your father-in-law to be is just learning work, I don't want to go too far but I would like to let you know that he attempted to murder us, it was a family thing and every member of his family attacked us whenever they felt like it... left to me alone, I would have loved to deal with them now but mumsy is a very wise woman, she taught us that the best punishment to one's enemy is success... sorry to say but your fiancee and her mum are evil women, they've probably used black magic on the man sef.... you need to see how everyone including my father's family come out to welcome us anytime we visit, like we are royalty, we are done with schooling and we have our various success stories so everybody wants to come close.... popsy is very ashamed of himself now and he can't stay in the same place we are in, he always flee.... his brother was talking about a reconciliation the other day, now they are ready to beg....mumsy was able to achieve all these by being nice to them irrespective of what they did, it will make them feel more sorry and ashamed of themselves but treating them like trash will make them feel vindicated, like they are paying for their sins.... I don't hate my father, I just dislike what he did to us and no matter what happens, I can never treat him like trash so you had better run for your life my dear cause she couldn't even respect you enough to treat her father nicely in front of you Quite touching!!! Hug your Mum for me when next you meet her. She deserves to be respected |

I once has cause to counsel a youth in one of the riverine communities in Bayelsa state on the need to learn 'Welding' so that it can guarantee him a job in future when other contractors come to the community to work or even outside his community. At that time, we were executing a major project in his community and the Contractor had set up a FREE training workshop for youths from the community to learn the trade.
The young man looked me straight in the eyes and told me "Oil dey my papa land. If people see me dey work, dem no go talk say something dey wrong with me?" (Translated loosely - "I have Crude oil on my ancestral land. People will think I am crazy if I am seen doing any form of work.)

Via >>> http://www.nationalhelm.net/2016/05/children-of-boko-haram-fighters.html
Credit >>> https://twitter.com/danborno/status/727234619955920897 The issues of IDPs and reintegration are emerging issues in Nigeria and we do not have a lot of experience in this. I am sure that (if the story is true) the Camp Overseers are doing what they believe is best for those kids, keeping them safe from reprisals from other camp inhabitants. This is where we need NGOs with experience to go over and help out in the field by providing guidance and assistance on these issues. You guys raving and ranting online, why don't you go out there and make a difference by volunteering, even if it is for just one week. Do I see volunteers |

edygistvilla: I recently took on a job, about few days ago (less than two weeks), as a office assistant/ Computer operator at an office located at Ojudu Berger. This is partly because I had just finished the just concluded Jamb utme examination and I was less-busy at home and I needed to develop work ethics and gain professional experiences that would be vital in future. There are TONs of stuff you have to learn while being in this position & I was doing great making photocopies, taking passports, and even helping out in typying. When we are less busy, My boss comes for a chat with my co-workers﹑ which they eagerly and actively participate but I don't. Not because I do not like my Boss or I'm avoidant, but I prefer being at peace with my thought and value my personal space. Then I noticed after few days, Her behaviour and mood towards me changed for the worse as she shouts at me and insults me if i make mistakes, Ofcourse, That's not a problem, but the hurtful part is she hurls insult on my personality. She says to me "You stand there like mumu'', 'Dondie'', 'Lookie lookie like deaf and dumb' e.t.c . But today at work, I made a mistake with taking a passport photograph due to the fact that the pressure was much coupled with the over-crowded enivironment. She instantly got annoyed and said she can't tolerate a dull and mumu person and that I'm too dull. She said I should leave.
I was pissed because I had not been given a chance to learn everything needed to know Yet. I think this was really unfair since I was not even given a chance to improve. She said blame me for being an "observer", but she had to let me go.
I'm not sad this happen but this had triggered my incentiveness and challenged me the more. I'm even courting an idea of developing a start-up. Best of luck with the new start-up business |
Education › Re: Biochemistry Course Rep Apologizes To Ex-Coursemates For Misusing Money (photo) by akreest(m): 12:57pm On Mar 24, 2016 |
This 'apology'ca only be borne out of one of the following: 1. A genuine desire to atone for her past mistakes 2. A demand from her Priest/Pastor/Babalawo etc as a pre-condition for receiving a 'miracle breakthrough'
If the former is the case, then it is truly noble. However, there is no forgiveness without restitution. If she is familiar with her Bible, she will recall the passage where Jesus asked the Tax Collector to restore all monies he had illegally collected to their original owners twofold. Note that He did not ask him to sow it as a seed to the House of God/Man of God but to return it to the original owners. The same principle applies in all other religious orders on Earth. She can work out the compounded interest rate on the 'stolen' sum for 5 years and return same to her classmates and she will get true forgiveness indeed.
If the latter is the case; she is just wasting her time as she will NOT get any true forgiveness from anyone.
Let her conscience be her guide |
