tobbyoladejo: Greetings to the house. Please I need advice on this energy provider issue. I moved into this rented house in September last year, and was even happy that the meters for gas and electricity are prepaid pay as you go, so I just top up and use what we have on it. I just got a mail from Ovo energy today that I have over £300 debt on the meter, and they sent a table showing when I supposedly recharged the meter and when I didn't, plus my consumption for those periods. The table stated I did not recharge the gas meter between January and June this year. It's baffling because I load between £50-80 on that gas meter every month depending on usage. Also, how can someone not pay for gas on a meter that cuts off supply immediately there's no credit on it, and still live in the house for 6 months? I have raised a complaint and got a reference number, with the resolution team saying they'll carry out an investigation within the next two weeks and get back to me. Please, is here anything I should do now, or should I just wait for the outcome of their investigation? It's just ridiculous that I'm having such an issue on a prepaid meter There's no need for concern. I had a similar experience with Ovo. They initially emailed me that they would add a certain amount to my meter starting in early July. However, when I contacted them, they admitted that the email was sent in error. Even their calculations turned out to be incorrect. I've checked my meter multiple times since then and found no additional debt. Therefore, you can rest assured that you're not in any trouble. |

Estroller: Yes, it is because of the associated childcare costs. Not sure if they have a way of confirming, but I do believe it is in your best interest to declare and look for other areas where you might be able to cut spending. Thanks, Boss! |

I visited Barclays today and I noticed having dependants (children) lowers to a great extent the amount of mortgage one can access. So, I was wondering if it is compulsory to declare them and if they have a way of confirming because the amount it reduced no be here ooo? |

I need to be serious about our mantra of, "RENT MONEY IS DEAD MONEY" this year mbok. Has anyone heard of Tembo Money? They said they could guarantee professionals mortgages of 5.5/6x of salary if one uses them but at £499. Is it worth it and who has used them? @Ticha @Lexusgs430 @semmyk |

Like it or not ..... You must pay ......😁😊 Thank you, sir! Between renting council housing or from a private Landlord, which one is the best assuming UC covers the rent? Does it make sense to even rent and live in council housing at all since people don't talk much about it here? |

tobbyoladejo: Please, I got caught suddenly in rain a few weeks ago with my passport on me, and when I discovered it at home, part of the passport photograph on biodata page has become cloudy. The passport was supposed to expire in like 15 months from now. Can I just apply for renewal, pay for 10 year passport and schedule capture in London? I'm asking because on the Nigeria high commission website in London, I'm seeing postal order of £250 for damaged passport, whereas it's £20 for renewal. Not sure if it is a mistake or that's how it is. Please kindly advise, as that's what is delaying my Schengen visa application right now. I am not certain if you can apply for passport renewal with 15 months remaining on your current passport. Typically, it is recommended to renew a passport when there are six months or less remaining before it expires. However, there may be a system in place for renewing a passport with more than six months remaining, but it may require paying a higher fee. I know of two people who renewed their passports in Nigeria with between 10-12 months remaining, but I do not have information on how they were able to do so. They told me there is a mechanism for such and all they did was pay a higher fee. Regarding the postal order, the information provided is correct. In the UK, you will need to pay a fee of £250 by postal order to replace a damaged or lost passport. It may be helpful to seek input from individuals who have successfully renewed their passports in the UK with more than six months remaining on their current passports. Do you have a photocopy of your passport photo page with you? The new passport pages are laminated so I am sure there's no room for moulds again. Cheers! |

Tobexin: Any one has Knowledge In rescheduling appointment on the Nigerian immigration passport appointment website? Last time I went I was bounce back on the point of doing my biometric due to the fact of contradicting date of birth on my NIN which I have successfully corrected now but I am finding it difficult to reschedule my appointment as it brings out my previous appointment and says duplicate booking which shouldn’t to be so. Anyone experience such before? You don't need to reschedule again if you have started the process. A similar thing happened to me and I just returned to finish it off another time. The security won't stop you and if they did just tell them you are a returnee applicant and they will allow you to enter. Also, do start from the group floor. Just go to that woman and she will clear you to go for your biometric. Cheers |

BorisJohnson: Alake..... Before you let someone confuse you on this forum, I hope you know that there is an aspect of this whole thing that it's only you that knows? So far on this forum, it's only you that knows the precise reason why you have that exemption vignette. Again, I will say it. Having an exemption vignette alone does NOT give u access to public funds. Although I am tempted to ask, but I will not ask you which of the categories is your exemption based on. You have actually asked indirectly though The exemption is based on Section 8 (2) or (3). |

BorisJohnson: I hope you know that Exempt vignette does not give right of abode? Yes, it doesn't but I thought if one fulfills one of the conditions (in here is fulfilled an exemption from immigration control) then one can claim public funds? I'm now more confused than ever before. |

TheGuyFromHR: Irrespective of which license you get, your entitlement to drive in the UK on a non-UK licence ends exactly one year from the day you entered the UK on your Tier 4 visa, so you must have changed to a full UK licence by then if you wish to continue driving around.
I don't know how things are now (hopefully shouldn't have changed), but back in the day, passing your test in Aberdeen and all those less populated areas in Scotland was way easier than in places like Manchester and London. Once you master roundabouts, all else shouldn't be a problem. What if you enter on a work visa, will a non-UK licence ends exactly one year from the day you entered the UK? |

justwise: That was not my experience with GTBANK, it was a frustrating experience , you send them one email you get 3-4 replies of the same content and different ref numbers, I posted the whole experience in the previous part.
If my card expires I will forget about that account till anytime I visit Nigeria. With GTB, I had a similar experience. It was horrible and unpleasant, and I had no choice but to abandon it until I returned home. They charged me for the replacement card, and when I went to pick it up, they informed me that it had been over a year and that I would have to pay another fee for a new card. I'm not going to renew when the current one expires. |

To calculate mortgage the bank would check how much you earn ..... and in your case the 75% you need to show earnings that your salary can be divided by that value 4 times Thank you.
