Properties / Private Land Developer Wanted by ALANKIWA: 9:55pm On Sep 09, 2013
I need information regarding how private land developer works. I have an old building occupying a plot in Amuwo, and a two plots in Ijegun, satellite town Lagos. I am planning on having one level building with 2 bedrooms flats 2 on each level for the Amuwo Land and 8 (2 bedrooms flats) on the 2 plots land in Satellite Town.

How does the contract works?
How many years does it usually takes before transfer back to original owner(s)?

Note: Tenants are already moving out as per lawyer's feedback.

I will seriously appreciate any feedback on this issue.

Business / Re: Why Is Solar Power Not Commonly Used In Nigeria? by ALANKIWA: 6:03am On Apr 03, 2012
I am very excited that we are discussing alternative to NEPA on this forum. Like someone had said, we need our government to use this technology to power our roads and streets to brighten our streets. The people of Nigeria should take it upon themselves with some government support to install in their houses. My question is can someone give us clearer understanding of this technology including cost and not phone numbers to call. We need information and idea on how we can spread this technology to our people. This discussion should be about creating jobs for some youths, better business enviroment, and better life for my people. For those of us that lives in USA and others in other developed countries, we have seen how forum like this can spark opportunity for people to task their leaders to impleament change or take it upon themselves to improve their own lives. Bottom line, we can do better. So, CAN SOMEONE TELL US WHAT THE IS WITH SOLAR POWER INCLUDING COST FOR BASIC THINGS IN A HOUSE?

Thank you my friend. I will definetely look into that prospect. I have not forgotten the greasy part of Naija culture. Corruption is in every country however, Naija have it wide open. Institutional Corruption. Regardless, I love my country. I definetely have to be around to run a school up to the standard that I envisage. Eyan o kin gbe okere mo dundun obe. I will hope to have school that will prepare kids for a better future. Thanks again for your contribution.

I am not so worried about making crazy profit. I just want a school that will be affordable and make a difference in the lives of these kids. My house is in Ikorodu (PZ Industrial Area) Why is getting a license a big deal? Is it due to bribery and corruption or the process streamline.

@Tanimola: What do you think about running a private primary school in lagos? What is the business potential? How saturated is the business at the moment?

@Tanimola: Thanks again.na wao things have really changed in Nigeria. When do we start cooking with N4000. People are really strugling. I tried to imagine someone earning N50k a month with 2 kids and extended family wahala. You have really opened my eyes to what the situation is in Nigeria. The last time I was in Nigeria was in 2000 which is about 12 years ago.May God answer our prayers and spear the less fortunate amongst us. Thank you once again. Only God knows tomorrow. Our tomorrow in Nigeria will be bright and fufilling.

@Tanimola: Thanks for the response. To your question, the answer is NO. My big girl will be 18 and my little girl will be around 12 years. I plan to set aside N1m for my little girl school and N3m for my big girl. The $2000 will be for living expenses like food, clothing, gas for cars and power generator, cable tv, cell phones and other minor stuff. No personal driver, No housemaid. Do you now think that $2000 will be enough for living expenses.I plan to invest in stock and maintain a money market account of about N26m. My friends are telling me not to come back to Nigeria because of the issues that the country is going through. I love my country and must come back home.

I have lived in the US for about 18 years and planning to come back home to Nigeria. My House is almost complete in Ikorodu and will be coming home with 3 vehicles and monthly steady income of $2000 a month. Can I consider that to be okay for a family of 4? I know about extended family asking for help as usual however, I am setting aside N1m to fund their wahala. Any suggestion?

@Emeka, Yes scientific invention came from the U.S. however you forget to state the most important part of science came from Africa, Egypt to be precise. I am talking about mathematical logic. You still haven't respond to my claim about the use of Africans to build American infrastructure during the onset of their development. Please respond to this fact. tongue

I am not disputing the fact that we as African are strugling to get out of this developing stage atleast we are trying. We currently doing some house keeping from the type of governement that was left behind by the British. The same is being done all over the world like Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Iraq, South Africa and others. The British left these countries corruption and as you know corruption is wide spreading virus that has grownall and still spreading among our leaders. The western world including the U.S. has contributed to the situation in most of the countries in Africa especially those with Oil and other natural resources. I mean, look at what they did to Iraq, Egypt, Libya, Nigeria, Algeria, UAE, and others in Africa. They manage to support corrupt leaders to surpress their own people by force so as to still their natural resources.

In conclusion, please answer to your name Emeka assuming you are real and not Oreos. Be part of the solution and not a problem child for your motherland. American put their country first so, please put Nigeria first assuming you are a Nigerian and not some white person with strong hatred for black people. American is done growing while African are on thier way to growing. You guys are old and we are still young and growing. thank you.

@Aloy Emeka, You are so full of hatred for my country and the people. Nigeria like other countries in Africa are coming to age in term of development. I wanna believe that every civilized world came from a sub-standard however, I want you to be part of the solution and not be a vagabond. (assuming you are a Nigerian). The United States of America is about 300 years old. The country was developed from the blood of black people that were brought to this country as slaves. Think about it Oreo or may be I should call you ur real name Emeka.

I love Nigeria and will always do. Nigeria comes first in my heart before the U.S.

We all have to admit that all countries have their slumps and rural areas like villages in Africa. We call it Villages in Africa and rural areas in the USA. I live in the U.S. I know that there people here that are homeless people here too.
Travel / Re: Is Nigeria A Good Place To Live? by ALANKIWA: 9:33pm On Jan 02, 2011
Festacson, great response to that black american idiot. I have lived in the US for 18 years served in the Army and lived the american dream however, i hate these black americans yes lower case america. I have always have problem with them. They are so ignorant and feel ashame to share the same skin color with Africans. I do not blame them because the slavery mentality is still screwing up their heads.
I am planning on coming back home in 5 years with my family. There is no place like home (Nija). Like everywhere in the world your standard of living depend on how much you have. All we do here in the USA is work to pay bills and a house if you lucky to have one that will never be paid off. kiss
