Interesting... If I have the money ,why not? Its only a poor man that would think its a waste of money. When you become rich and wealthy, you will definitely have a different mentality. Chelsea forward Michy Batshuayi has rubbished the idea that he was laughing at the expense of team-mate Alvaro Morata during Sunday's Community Shield. Morata put a spot-kick wide during the shoot-out defeat to Arsenal at Wembley and footage subsequently emerged which showed Batshuayi laughing at something behind the Spain international's back. Batshuayi began the game before being replaced by expensive new signing Morata and, with the pair apparently rivals for a starting berth in the Premier League starting XI, it was suggested on social media that the Belgian enjoyed his team-mate's spot-kick woes. However, Batshuayi wrote on his Twitter feed:"Wow lol some people really believe I laughed at my teammate and/or us losing?"Sorry to disappoint but I wasn't." The striker then posted a photo of himself and Victor Moses celebrating the latter's opener at the weekend, and added: "I'm enjoying every goal for us scored by anyone in the team. "That's the only thing you have to know. Have a blessed day." The 23-year-old joined the Blues from Marseille last summer but had a fairly quiet first season at Stamford Bridge, while Diego Costa did a capable job of leading the line. However, Batshuayi did score the goal which clinched the title, coming off the bench to score the winner at West Brom, and he finished the campaign with five Premier League goals in just 236 minutes on the pitch. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11668/10978933/michy-batshuayi-denies-laughing-at-alvaro-moratas-penalty-miss-for-chelsea Pics credits: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4767958/Chelsea-star-Michy-Batshuayi-did-not-laugh-Morata.html

President Paul Kagame of Rwanda has won a third term in office with a landslide, the country's electoral commission has announced. Partial results of Friday's election gave him 98% of the votes, it said.http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-40822530 CC Lalasticlala Mynd44 |
Hmmm I believe the next transfer record wouldnt be anything less than £400m. What do you think? Cc Lalasticlala Mynd44 |
July 13, 2000 - Hernan Crespo (Parma to Lazio, £36m) Another man who barely held the record long enough to take a picture with it, Argentinian striker Crespo appeared to have been the subject in the fastest-moving transfer of all time. On the Tuesday, 24 hours before he signed, he told reporters: 'I am amazed at this news. I have not signed anything and have no idea at what stage the negotiations are.' Thanks for that, Hernan. June 8, 1999 - Christian Vieri (Lazio to Inter Milan, £28m) Vieri made a happy habit of being incredibly expensive. The Italian striker's San Siro switch ensured he had three entries in the top-10 dearest transfers of all time (at the point of his departure from Lazio). These were the days before the Euro,of course. In old money,Vieri set Inter back 80billion lire.Yikes. August 27, 1998 - Denilson (Sao Paulo to Real Betis, £22m) Hold up. Real Betis? £22million? What the? Yep, it happened. Back in '98, Brazilian whizkid Denilson left his home country for the Seville on a quite ridiculous 11-YEAR contract. To make it all that bit more whacky, a £260m buyout clause was inserted into the deal. By 2006, the forward was on trial at Portsmouth. Oof. June 20, 1997 - Ronaldo (Barcelona to Inter Milan, £19.5m) After 47 goals in 49 games for Barca, the original Ronaldo fell out with the Catalans just as they were willing to tie him to a 10-year deal. In stepped Inter president Massimo Moratti. 'It was a whim of mine,' Moratti recalled recently. 'When you a buy a club you dream of something exceptional, even at the expense of perfect administration.' A £19.5m whim. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4752930/Neymar-s-196m-transfer-record-evolved.html

June 9, 2009 - Kaka (AC Milan to Real Madrid, £56m) It didn't last for long, but for a while the elegant Brazilian was the world's most expensive player.Kaka signed an £8m-a-year contract at Real, leaving Milan to lament their loss with a truly exceptional statement. 'The loss technique, while serious, can be remedied. It will be very difficult to fill the void that will be left by Kaka, a shining example of professionalism, commitment and professionalism,'it read. 'AC Milan,(according to)the wishes of the managers, players and supporters of the Rossoneri, offer him the most cordial and affectionate wishes for the continuation of his sporting career.' July 10, 2001 - Zinedine Zidane (Juventus to Real Madrid, £45m) FIFA had only just resolved to introduce new transfer rules which would have allowed Zidane to move for a free(what ever happened to them?) when the star man from France 98 and Euro 2000 relocated to Spain. Zidane would collect £3.5m a year at Madrid. He said: 'A while back I said the amount of money was enormous and that I was not worth that much. 'It is indeed a lot of money.I am fully aware of that and my thoughts on the matter have not changed. A new challenge is at hand. I was really in need of something different. Things came into focus today. July 24, 2000 - Luis Figo (Barcelona to Real Madrid, £37m) Uh oh. Barca to Real.Luis Figo was one brave man. Florentino Perez built his presidential campaign on the promise to sign the Portuguese, going so far as to commit to paying for every Madrid fan's subscription if he failed to land his man. So it was just as well he did. Though the whole process left Perez's Barcelona counterpart Joan Gaspart incredulous. 'I'll not forget this. Whoever is responsible for this will pay for it. We'll see how and when,' he said. We're still waiting.

August 9, 2016 - Paul Pogba (Juventus to Manchester United, £89m) Having left United for nothing during the reign of Sir Alex Ferguson, the French midfielder returned to Old Trafford in a Stormzy of publicity as the grime star reintroduced him to Red Devils fans with a viral social media video. The overall price, with add-ons and agents' fees taken into account, will rise to £100m. September 1, 2013 - Gareth Bale (Tottenham to Real Madrid, £85m) The Welshman agreed a £300,000-per-week deal to swap north London for the Spanish capital, saying it was 'the right time to say goodbye' to Spurs. The transfer generated a £75m profit for Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy, who bought Bale for £10m six years previously. July 6, 2009 - Cristiano Ronaldo (Manchester United to Real Madrid, £80m) It was the deal that shook football, raising the transfer record by almost 50 per cent in a single swoop. Ronaldo was greeted at the Bernabeu by 80,000 delirious fans and quickly declared: 'This is a spectacular day'.

Neymar has completed his move to Paris Saint-Germain in a world record £198million move. The deal blows the previous record,Paul Pogba's £89million switch to Manchester United, out of the water by more than £100million. He's also said to be earning more than £500,000-per-week. Given the size of the deal it's easy to forget how far the record has come since transfer fees became the norm; just 20 years ago the biggest fee ever paid was still below £20million. Lets look back at the last 10 times the transfer record has been broken(over the past 20 years) http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4752930/Neymar-s-196m-transfer-record-evolved.html

The entire GDP of six countries If you have one Neymar, you would be able to match the entire economic output of one of six of the world's smaller nations. Take your pick from Tuvalu, Montserrat, Kiribati, the Marshall Islands, Nauru and Palau - all have a GDP output ranging from about $33m to $258m, according to United Nations data from 2015 The national debt of a small island nation(or a teeny, tiny fraction of the US debt) If you were feeling philanthropic, Neymar's mammoth fee could wipe out the national debt of a small nation … like Tonga ($28.3m), Fiji ($72.4m) or Vanuatu ($82m) - or, stretching a bit, even Haiti ($234m). Those countries, of course, just have low debt. They don't have the highest debt-to-GDP ratios, arguably a better sign that a nation has a debt problem. So, if you wanted to help, say, the United States with its massive debt problem, a Neymar would knock off just 0.001% of the US national debt (which is almost $20 trillion at the time of writing). Fine, I'll just take Neymar… Congratulations! If you save $1,000 a day, every day, you should be able to make your payment for one genuine Neymar in… 718 years. Get saving. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-40806702

The entire payroll of the New York Yankees Or in the US, skip the soccer, as they say, and switch to the great American pastime: baseball. You could pay for a year's play from the whole New York Yankees main team - a bargain at just $155m for the active squad, according to player valuation database Spotrac. And with the leftover cash, why not pay for the injured players, retained contracts, and minor squad, too? It will still only total $223m. The winners of the other "football" The entire New England Patriots team - Super Bowl winners, 2017 - has a payroll that is even cheaper, at $171,705,615. Bargain.

The cost of human cloning is around £1.29m. Why spend £198,000,000 on one Neymar when you could clone 153 Neymars at that price? (Thomas from York) One Neymar could buy enough spaghetti to cover the entire city of Barcelona (Adam Wright) Or 792,000,000 Freddo chocolate bars (Davo Long) Fighter jet (or 10) In the market for a different kind of striker? Take your pick: an F-35 Lightning, the current darling of the US Air Force, would set you back $94m, and the (no longer available) F-22 Raptor was some $150m when it stopped production. And for the more budget-conscious shopper, one Neymar could be traded for about 10 Russian SU-24s - a formidable strike force.

Neymar has agreed a five-year contract with Paris Saint-Germain ahead of a world-record transfer from Barcelona worth a total of nearly £450m. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/12691/10971192/neymar-agrees-five-year-paris-saint-germain-deal-ahead-of-world-record-450m-transfer-from-barcelona Brazilian footballer Neymar is set to leave his Spanish club Barcelona to move to France's Paris St-Germain - but the move is set to cost a record-breaking €222m fee. At today's prices, one Neymar is worth £198m, or $262m, which could buy... A plane (or three) One Neymar could buy three Boeing 737-700 passenger planes, which cost $82.4m each. If you wanted to upgrade to the snazzier 737-800 - the type of plane that makes up a large chunk of Ryanair's European fleet - you'd only be able to afford two, with about $65m left over for bells and whistles. Alternatively, you could exchange your Neymar for a private jet - ranging up to about $100m - and then spend the rest on the (insanely high) running costs every year. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-40806702 CC Lalasticlala Mynd44

A simple act of signing his world famous autograph on a fan’s bum shorts has angered Victoria, wife of highly rated footballer, David Beckham. Beckham was pictured on Sunday signing the girl’s bottom in Kernville, California, when he stopped to rest during a road trip, Mail has reported. His love of partying is also said to be driving a wedge between him and his wife of 18 years, Victoria.
