sonnie10: Did they change their name? It used to be Amtrak. Almost the same amount like flying. It’s the same. But Acela Express it’s more like Business Class. It’s usually the fastest one with the fewest stop. |

rusher14: As Anericans do.
Getting off our ass and producing.
How can majority the clothes worn by 200 million people come from abroad.
How can we be importing rice?
Why should you study chemistry, biochemistry, and be complaining about job opportunities when you should be producing soaps and fragrances?
Same society you would find young people splurging on drinks and strippers every weekend. Lol... True, But most still need government help. Where would most unemployed graduates get startup capital without no job insight? Then they’ll still have to deal with government bureaucracies when trying to register their businesses as well as obtain a Tax ID number. The situation is complicated. I don’t really know anymore. |

Yet again, it doesn't change the GDP per capita. So how exactly do you propose we change the GDP per capital? |

sonnie10: I took one of those from Boston the day I went to renew my Nigeria passport in New York. I deliberately fixed the date on a Monday so that I could return same day and go to work in the evening. About four hours from Boston, got to port authority station in NY by 6am. Embassy opened about 8am, went in for biometric and returned at 12noon for the passport. Another 3hours back to Boston and went to work at about 5pm. Good, You can also try the Acela Express Trains from Boston to New York City. Those are usually fast with few stops albeit expensive. |

sonnie10: You can’t compare Calabar with Lagos. I have stayed in metro, and the one at highway off NPA staff quarters then the highest was 20k. But the last time I was in Nigeria, I could hardly find a decent hotel for less than 50k. The best I got was Pecotra in Ikeja for 65k True, You’re paying for location & security. The cheapest room is #50,000/night like I told him. |

rusher14: Are you aware recurrent expenditure often means salaries?
Who would slash legislative entitlements and why do we think that figure is what would be of any significance to ths populace?
Why don't Nigerians ever face the fact that we are unproductive?
The GDP per capita for Nigeria is 2 thousand dollars for the entire year.
That is the average contribution of a Nigerian contributes to the nation.
Can you now see why people lament?
Nobody is saying government doesnt steal but the conclusion is that productivity is very low per individual. It includes way more than just salaries i.e. grants & subsidies. No senator deserves to earn 14 million or so per month except you believe they should, So what exactly are you suggesting should be done?I’ve already said slash entitlements & packages, reduce recurrent expenditures & possibly do away with fuel subsidy eventually. But the bottom line is Nigeria isn’t gonna transform overnight. It took a while to get us to this sorry state. It’ll also take a while to get us up & running again. |

rusher14: I'm saying generally.
A country that doesn't produce cannot be talking about wage increment.
Would the money fall from the sky? Maybe start by slashing Legislative entitlements & packages as well as reducing recurrent expenditures. |

Babyvet: Yes bwi is the closet airport to me . I use to come through JFK as a child and someone would pick me up from airport. The megabus from md to New York is 3 hours but then I would have to take a train to jfk. That’s seems like to much work. The easiest way would be to fly from Newark Airport You take the Amtrak train from the BWI Airport Station to the Newark Int’l Airport Station. Going to JFK Airport would be a little cumbersome since you’ll have to change trains at New York Penn Station. |

Babyvet: I talked to other passengers, and they said that American Airlines is no good . Anyways did you recently renew your nigerian passport? Because I want the new 10 year passport and they said it has still not have arrived to the US yet. I renewed early last year in New York City & they gave me one with 5 year validity. |

sonnie10: Yes JFK has lots of flights options and even cheaper. Even from Logan in Boston, most times, they still have to connect from JFK. If you are traveling light and have the time, Peter Pan or Bolt from NJ to New York is about $20. I usually take Megabus, I love their double decker Buses, it’s very comfortable. Alternatively, I also take the New Jersey Transit Trains to New York Penn Station. |

Very poor customer service and bad experience. I’ve never heard a bad experience with American Air. Maybe fly Delta Airlines & go through Atlanta. |

Philadelphia: Thanks for this.
Coming from an IT background.
I added UK to the list due to the recent immigration law.
Thanks again. I believe the U.S. still remains number one for IT Professionals. They do make a lot of money. But UK gets bumped to number two because I heard Professional IT contractors make a lot of money as well. So Australia & Canada are tied for the third spot. |

I’m not very used to winter. Glasgow was even colder than London.
I also had issue of shorter day. But again, it is about the time you’re visiting. During summer, sun sets as late as 9pm.
Istanbul is nice - a big city with a lot of historical monuments. True, Hopefully when next I visit, I’ll plan my travel around summer time. |

Philadelphia: Beautiful thread Alexandre7
I want to know please:
Amongst these 4 places: UK, US, Canada & Australia; what order will you rank immigration and citizenship for someone coming from Nigeria?
Others who have travel experience please feel free to contribute so that nairalanders who wish to immigrate can get better pictures to help their decision.
Thanks. Depends on your skills & qualifications Easiest to Migrate without family sponsorship are Canada & Australia But usually if you’ve one of the above Passports then you don’t really need the other one, I might be a little biased but personally my order would be: (A) United States (B) Australia (C) Canada (D) United Kingdom |

But I think from next year will be taking pictures and be storing for personal consumption, maybe.
Make sure you enjoy your stay in Naija.
If you get the opportunity to hookup here do it, u don't owe anybody any explanation...and not all dates or romance flings must lead to marriage but while u flex, don't abandon your raincoat You don’t have to reveal your pictures. Maybe you can also use a VPN to mask your location if you’re really concerned about privacy. |
