ladon1: I do agree that some of their teachings are to ectreme but i disagree with you that they should respect other peoples opinion. Christian doctrine is not other peoples opinion but the writing word of God. Deeper life church has his own little short comings but this is a church that grooms converts to the image of christ though that could vary from person to person but thry are indeed a church founded on truth. But why are they saying that trouser for ladies is a sin? is that the Bible's opinion? i think they got it from yoruba tradition, not Bible. trouser for ladies is white man tradition |

Seemyfather: Good day house. There is this question I that has been bordering my heart which I will like to throw it to the house as well. Hmmmmm, I do observers that most/many of our politicians hardly or find it difficult going to any of the Deeper Life Bible Church, during their political campaign tour unlike every other Churches like that of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Living Faith Church a.k.a Winner's Chapel, The Lord Chosen, among others.
Of a recent, we will observed that both President Jonathan and General Mohammed Buhari, had in one way or the other visited RCCG during their political campaign tour among others except for that of Deeper Life Bible Church, be it at there state, local or at there National Headquarters.
Now I want to ask; is it that Deeper Life Bible Church its Founder (GS) is not that known to them at all 'ni' or is there anything making them run or stay away from the church during their political campaign 'ni' or what?
Your unbiased opinions or answers would go a long way.
Thank you. the style of preaching holiness in deeper life is rather harsh/rebuking, instead of showing love. they don't respect other people's opinion in deeperlife, the GO impose his opinion to everybody in church, for instance, they say politics and trouser for ladies is sin, which is not in the bible, and they take it like that without questioning the preacher . i don't know whether they are not educated enough to ask questions boldly. the same thing is found in MFM and all others like this. They are strong conservatives, no liberals, Nobody smiles, no happiness. Yet they commit sin in secret, including kumuyi and Olukoya, Tell me, what do you expect sinners like politicians to do? |

But the problem i have with him is, he is still teaching end time and rapture contradicting himself. the kingdom of God has no end. that means, the earth has no end. life continues on earth for ever and ever and ever, amen |

paxonel: exactly! when Jesus met Nicodemus he was yet to be crucified. it was then Judaism. there was no Christianity then, that implies there was no salvation because it was the crucifixion that brought salvation. Christianity started after the crucifixion. then, how come people are now saying born again is salvation or leads to salvation? the missionaries never thought over this or they deliberately reach Africans this to put us in bondage i have resolved that no amount of religious believe will stop me enjoying my life. i am a christian does not mean i shouldnt have fun |

paxonel: your point is straight forward enough to understand..But the OP is still right. Born again doctrine is part of the missionary teachings which continues to enslave African Christianity. thank God!! few christians are now thinking and getting understanding. just read what i am going to say, and think over it with your brain. it is the brain thinking that makes white men superior over blacks he told Nicodemus, in John 3:7, Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. Meaning, i want to come out plain and tell you what i mean by born again. He then told him a parable in John 3:8, The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. let me explain this parable. this parable was not a spiritual thing at all . Jesus told him, i am telling you physical things now you don't understand me, what if begin to tell you spiritual things?? The wind there represent the multitude or crowd of disciples following Jesus. Nicodemus in his sight and ear, sees and hear about the multitude of disciples following Jesus but could not tell where they are coming from and where they are going to (all though they are going to Jerusalem ). then Jesus ended by saying, so is every man that is born again.meaning, all these disciples you see following me are the born again. The bottomline is,for Nicodemus to see the kingdom of God it is expected that he should join the crowd of disciples and follow Jesus to Jerusalem where the kingdom of God was to be revealed at his crucifixion. THEREFORE, BORN AGAIN SIMPLY MEANS THE EVENT OF THE DISCIPLES FOLLOWING JESUS INTO CHRISTIANITY (not yet in Christianity but on their way to Christianity ).so born again were not yet saved because they were still at Judaism even at the following. Remember, it was a transition from Judaism(the religion of the jews) to christianity (the Christian faith ).therefore the righteousness of God was revealed from faith to faith at crucifixion. now,not all who followed Jesus and called him lord lord(not everybody among the born again ) ended up seeing the kingdom of God (ended up becoming christians ) but only about 120 of them, act 1:15. out of the 5000 who eat bread and fishes. Example of a disciple who was born again who didn't see the kingdom of God was Judas Iscariot, he died on the way, he was unfortunate. Another example is john the baptist, he also died. Hence, the least person (the greatest sinner ) in Christianity is greater than john the Baptist and all the prophets of old testament (prophets of Judaism ). You can see that born again was not in Christianity but in Judaism (another religion entirely just like Islam ) and Christianity is far better than born again. Therefore it is far better to be called a Christian than to be called born again. The painfull thing is that Christians now hijacked the name born again, boasting that they are righteous than any other Christian thereby causing division in the body of Christ. Please desist from boasting,no man on earth is righteous. We are all justified by faith and not by our dirty works. And that faith is Christianity. think God bless you so much, you have an insite of the scriptures. the bible even say there is time for everything. the time before Jesus was crucified is not the same thing as the time after the crucifixion. |

johnydon22: Yeah quite agreeable... Morality is a product of empathy... for something to be moral it must conform to the good of you, and others and added to the collective good of the society... If you stole from someone, it hurts the person thereby ur actions are against empathy and therefore is not moral.. If you kiss a girl who also kisses u back, ur actions hurt no one (it pleases both of u instead) their is nothing immoral about it... Radiate boundless love towards the entire earth, only then will the good in you flow for the good of earth and all in it. that's it. churches are still saying kissing is bad, it marvels me |

I don't know the kind of doctrine English missionaries brought to Africa that is putting the whole Nigerian Christians in bondage of fear like this. meanwhile, in the Uk, white men are enjoying their lives while we are suffering in Africa. white men don't allow their religious believes to interfer with their enjoyment. Christianity Etc › Re: purpose by Alexis86: 4:45pm On Jan 24, 2015 |
wisdomiskey: We as humans ask ourselves almost every day what our purpose is, why are we here? We often feel unfulfilled and even make the mistake of believing that fulfilling destiny means becoming famous, wealthy or indulging in a immerse fun, popularity and pleasure (I won’t lie but I often felt that way too) Until I decided to go back to Genesis. My thought process was “Every inventor has a reason for the product they create, therefore, God would have stated his purpose for us right from the beginning of time, right from when he created us”.
As I went back to Genesis, 3 things stood out to me as the purpose for our creation:
1. We were created to be in his image and likeness Genesis 1: 26-27 This to my understanding, is the basic core of our purpose. We are designed to carry the resemblance of God. Not necessarily in looks as God isn’t a physical being but rather, in character. Our purpose is to live righteously, reflecting God’s holiness. 2. We were created to be prosperous and enjoy the earth Genesis 1: 28-30 After God made man, he told us to be fruitful and multiply, He told us to have dominion and reign over the earth. This means to enjoy the earth and all it has to offer. Dominion means confidence. It means to claim territory and power over the earth. He created earth for us! it is our territory. When something belongs to you, you have to take care of it so you can enjoy it. God wants us to care for the earth, care for animals, take care of nature and enjoy it, enjoy food, drinks, fruits etc... Travel, see the world and appreciate the beauty of earth. 3. We were created for love and companionship Genesis 2: 18-25 God stated that “its not good for man to be alone”. He wants us to live in companionship with one another. He wants us to be in partnership – marriage! He designed us to love and to receive love. This shouldn’t be limited to our partners of course. We must also love the rest of the human race we must live in friendship and fellowship with one another.
The purpose for our creation which is highlighted in the beginning of time was reinforced and backed up when Jesus came and said the two main laws are to love God and to love our neighbours! Matthew 22: 37-39
We show love to God by keeping his commandments – hence becoming in his image & likeness. We show love to our neighbours by living in companionship, fellowship and love – not living alone and in isolation. How can we possibly be happy if we are lonely?
These two great laws, intertwined, enables us to live in dominion and enjoy our lives.. This therefore is why we are on earth. We must strive to be holy, righteous people. We must love one another and we must enjoy the earth and take care of it. If we truly live this way, there should be no reason for depression and unfulfilment.
Life is not as complicated as we make it. were we not created to go to church, work or function in the house of God, and preach the gospel?? |

The British government has said it is investigating David Oyedepo’s Winners’ Chapel International’s request to establish an independent school in the country. The fee-paying school, Kingdom Heritage Model School in Dartford, was set to open to children from the age of four in September. The school, which will teach “Biblical truths” in each subject, is currently being considered by the British Department for Education. The church itself is said to be under investigation by the Charity Commission. Among those kicking against the church’s opening a school in the country is the National Secular Society, an organisation that campaigns for the separation of religion and state. The NSS expressed concern that a school linked to the “controversial preacher” was set to open in England. In a letter to the Department for Education, the NSS had questioned the suitability of the organisation to run educational establishments in the country, raising concerns over both educational standards and child welfare. In 2011, Oyedepo was, reportedly, captured on video assaulting a young girl at one of his church service. The girl was alleged to be possessed by some evil spirits. In 2012, the Metropolitan Police stated that children believed to be possessed by evil spirits or believed to be witches are at “clear and immediate risk of significant harm.” In considering the school’s registration, the NSS has also asked the DfE to look into the details surrounding the death of a three-year- old child who drowned in the toilets of a Kingdom Heritage Model School operated by Winners Chapel in Nigeria in 2012. The NSS campaigns manager Stephen Evans, said, “Given this Church’s association with belief in witchcraft and the actions of its leader, we hope the department will give serious consideration to the reliability of the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.” According to the rights advocacy group, the proposed school acknowledges “God as the sovereign and only wise God in all affairs of life and learning,” and believes the Bible to be the ultimate source of wisdom. When our correspondent contacted the church through phone numbers provided on its website, one of the respondents said he was a technical person and as such could not comment on the issue. But another staff of the church, who refused to give his name, said the allegation was “a scam, it cannot be true.” SOURCE: www.punchng.com 9 November 2014 |

paxonel: you know, the fire on the ulter in the old covenant symbolizes worship and this fire was commanded that it should be burnt without quenching Leviticus 6:13 The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out. this was a shadow of the true worship that is to come in the new convent before the manifestion of the true worshipers who are Christians, Jesus, who the true worship is to be towards God came in the flesh and encountered a Samaritan woman, the woman told him in John 4:20 Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. remember, the temple at Jerusalem was the place of worship for the Jews. then Jesus told her in John 4:21 Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. meaning, mountain or temple building and all the ordinances in them are vanity, they will not be needed again to worship God when the time comes and that time has come, that time is now so, there is no justification for Christians going to church to worship God, church is a mere building, because the building and everything inside and all its ordinances are all vanity before God, they will collapse someday , But the building may be useful atleast to house belivers when they gather gathering is important but it is not mandatory, anybody can choose not to gather, it's not by force. when the disciples began to admire temple building this is what he told them Matthew 24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. meaning, it will collapse one day, that implies, we don't need building and it ordinances to worship God so, what does it mean to worship God in spirit and in truth? it simply means to believe in Christ and to be in a state of grace. by believing,, you are already an epitome of worship before God, when God looks at you he sees unquenchable fire burning. God is everywhere at the same magnitude of his presence,,inside church, in your office, in your toilet, so there is no hiding place. every micro seconds of our lives is worship, we don't have any worship time nothing like sabath day nothing like Sunday Sunday church church all days are equal before God. Nigerians know this truth, But it baffles me the way they have become religious people, church this, church that. they don't have any thing to show for it but corruption. obviously, God is not happy with such religious nations hmmm! thanks a lot, you know, at a time i had considered quitting Christianity because i began to see no sense in religion. thank God there are people like you who had understanding of the religion, i am beginning to see the sense in Christianity. i always know that any religion or thoughts which is not geared towards intellectual development of it's adherents and consequently, towards the development of the nation,is not worth to be practiced. you have proved to me that, the reason why athiests will remain athiests is because they are yet to hear the other side of Christianity because Nigerian Christians and pastors could not understand and explain. it's obvious that, Nigerians in general are practising the Christianity blindly. they turn it into a hunt for social and financial gratification this conversation has greatly encouraged me to hold firmly to my christian faith, honestly, i intended to quit thanks |
