In a recent interview on Encomium, Mr Kehinde Oloyede popularly called Almaroof debunked online reports claiming he is an illiterate. Mr Almaroof who claims he works as an Estate developer said he decided to let Funke go in order not to interfere with her career. Kenny said his friends has advised him to ignore insults from Funke Akindele’s fans calling him an illiterate and all sort of demeaning names. Check out what Funke Akindele’s ex-husband told Encomium; “She’s still married to me. They wrote that I am a tout, from what you are seeing here now, do I look like a tout or garage boy? They also said I’m a drop out, from the way you and I have been speaking, do I speak like someone who did not go to school? I have decided to follow the advice of those who said I should not join issues with her and her supporters. I am not a celebrity. I am an estate developer. She is the star that has her career to protect and I don’t want to be the one to spoil her career“. Few weeks ago, Almaroof exposed the crack in their marriage when he took to his Facebook page to say he’s done with Funke. Since then, he hasn’t let go of his ex-movie star wife. In another interview he granted during the time of the crash, he said he’s still legally married to Funke. Almaroof should just let the sleeping dogs lie. Funke has made up her mind not to continue to with him, then let her be. This is the time for the actress to be more prayerful. May God deliver her.

July 30, 2013 – My Take On Child Bride, Underage Marriage In Nigeria “I Laugh In Tears With Nigerian Senators” This is my take on the supposed child’s marriage bill that recently generated loads of debate both on the media and internet. I took a whole lot of my time to have a critical perusal at the activities of the senate on that faithful day, candidly speaking, I am so disappointed at the way the media fomented their emptiness married with the fact that our distinguished senators lacks in the dispensation of the constitutional duties as the present situation drags it to our notice that average of our elected senator don’t really bother about the merit or demerit of the bill they oppose or against in as much as it does not affect their monthly sittings allowance and other packages. Firstly, I take a frown look at the despicable information the media fed us with under the disguise of FREEDOM OF INFORMATION. It should be noted herein that in the first world countries where the freedom of information are widely enjoyed, misinformation is also a criminal offence that attracts heavy punishment on the disseminator. Secondly, for the lay minded, the controversial section 29 of the 1999 constitution is focused on renunciation of citizenship. And the subsection (1) of the constitution states; Any citizen of Nigeria of full age who wishes to renounce his Nigerian citizenship shall make a declaration in the prescribed manner for renunciation. The subsection (2) of the celebrated section states; The president shall cause the declaration made under subsection (1) of this section to be registered and upon such registration shall cease to be a citizen of Nigeria. Continuing, subsection (3) professes as follows; The president may withhold the registration of any declaration made under subsection (1) of this section if a) The declaration is made during any war in which Nigeria is physically involved; or b) In his opinion, it is otherwise contrary to public policy. Lastly, the over glorified subsection (4) now states; For the purposes of subsection (1) of this section a) “full age” means the age of eighteen years and above; b) Any woman who is married shall be deemed to be of full age. From all indication, I take a solid stand on the side of this section and its subsections has nothing to do with marriage nor age at which a female child(ren) can enter into a marriage. Nonetheless I share the view that it thus encourages child’s marriage. With due respect to the norm that gave birth to the 1999 constitution, the dead law was totally silence on the ground at which a person can renounce his citizenship, in the like manner, it is right to say that our 1999 constitution breaks the gene for renunciation. At this juncture, I applaud though for the first time the uniform men imposed constitution. Since the commencement of the fourth republic, Nigeria state cannot frankly state that she has provided a constitution that truly justify the fallacy of “we the people” the preamble of the CFRN 1999 committed. Therefore, in my humble view I see the various attempts to amend the 1999 constitution by the national assembly as an attempt to place a new wine in an old bottle or patching an old sick cloth with new one. In the course of bringing alive the truly “we the people” constitution, the upper chamber thought it worthwhile to take a holistic approach of the military given constitution, forthwith the section 29 (4)(b) sprung from a controversial pervert though distinguish senator. At this juncture, I sat back, laugh and wept at the interpretation the long silently stayed subsection enjoyed by the people and media which is impari-materia with the intention of the distinguished pervert. The subsection 4(b) is plain and unequivocal; therefore I object to it neither interpreted under the golden nor the mischief rule of interpretation. I forthwith subscribe to its literal meaning which is; A woman who as not attain the “full age” (18 years) required by the constitution which is a conditional precedent for her to renounce her citizenship, but has gotten married can enjoy the status of “full age” for the sake of this section. Nothing more, nothing less. It should be committed to memory, that the section as painted by the media does not in any way provides for the age at which a female child is due for marriage nor makes it a duty for parents to give out there child into marriage at a stipulated age. It should be noted at this juncture, that presently the Nigerian legal system provided for two ways at which anyone can celebrate his or her marriage. It may either be in line with the customary law, or the statute. The statute specifically provides that parties that intends to enter into a marriage contract must have attain the age of major which is impari-materia with the constitutional provision of full age. On the other hand, the celebration of marriage under the customary laws practiced in Nigeria gives no specific age for a male child or a female child to enter into a marriage. Frankly speaking, Ago- Iwoye where I stayed as undergraduate you will see a girl of 14-15 years old being proud to be mother of 2 or 3. Therefore, we leaving the material and fighting the immaterial is a mere chasing of shadow, because our archaic and ancient customary practice that should not be mate with the 21st century are what we should compel to pass through the fire of repugnancy test. In the simplest term, it is the minor who found her way through the customary way of celebration of marriage that can benefit under the over glorified subsection 4(b). At this stage you will agree with me that before subsection 4(b) can be set on motion, the minor must have gained the status of woman under the customary law. Now you will see that subsection 4(b) is a mere effect of the cause of customary law. Leaving the customary laws that gives out our infants in marriage day-in day-out and fighting the subsection 4(b) is what I call misrepresentation of pet cat for a lion cat. Now if we compel these customary laws to go through the repugnancy test and they fail, then the door opened for minor to go into marriage be it at will or by force will be close and the subsection 4(b) which is the effect will die a natural death. However, the subsection 4(b) that is our object of debate though silence, but has enjoyed a very long stay in our constitution has neither the upper chamber nor the lower chamber could notice it doing their various amendments before their attention was called to it by our distinguished SENATOR YERIMA. It should be recalled from memory that the distinguished senator is a sexually perverted man whose sexual life is focused on infants and immediately lay them off at the attainment of the age of major, got engaged with a teen in Egypt sometimes in 2011 after gotten divorced to another teen immediately preceding her age of major, has since 1999 creates loads of controversial occurrence that various human right organization as challenged in their capacities. The senator having called the attention of other senators to the subsection 4(b) the chamber has to go by the way of voting as provided for by the constitution. The constitution provides that the 2/3 majority of the total house shall have the power to alter the constitution, now the total member of that house is 109, the 2/3 is 76, the total number of senators that voted in support that the subsection should be expunge is 60, and the senators that voted NO that the subsection should continue its silent stay under the constitution are numbered 36. In the light of the above, 16 votes is needed to the existing vote to get the section into recycle bin. In light of the above, what the senators exercised is plainly their constitutional duty, and the required vote is not gotten, so the section should continue its stay until the condition for its delete is finally met. It seriously amused me as the media tainted the activity of the chamber when they disseminated that the chamber passed a law in support of child marriage, please I havea question, is the section a new section under the constitution? What is the relationshipof that section with marriage and when a female child can enter into a marriage? At this point, I challenge the media to go out and sort for more good news worthy stories as their misinformation is alarming lately. Back to our senators, I laugh with tears when the constituency members of SENATORAKINFULIRE AYO (A.K.A ALLOVER) of labour party summoned him, to come give the detail why he chose to oppose the removal of that section, instead of him seat them down and explain in detail what actually transacted in the chamber, he went into tear like a baby and gave flimsy excuses that does not hold water. ”I am sorry, I voted in error, I never meant to support female child marriage, I wanted to press YES when I mistakenly press NO” Imagine that from a senator of federal republic of Nigeria. It marks the type of senators we elected, senators that don’t know when to press YES and NO, dumb head senators that less care about the bill they pass in as much as it does not affect their monthly sitting alliances and other juicy packages. Anyway, a message for them, our vote is much stronger than bullet, come 2015 we make a better change. Summarily, my freelance thought is simulacrum to the fact that the publicity the media gave the activity of the upper chamber that day is somewhat more than required and the despicable and worrisome act of some members of the senate is such a one that call for undiligent look from the international community. Really, I felt we could work things out when the trouble started two months after the marriage. But I made up my mind and shut the door of the marriage at him when the trouble was coming to me too much. “I stooped to conquer him; buried my fame and name to make him my husband, but it did not work. At a point in time, I asked if it’s not the same man that was all over me before we married. He nearly got me off my career. He called me severally; I did not pick his calls but when he realized my silence was tormenting him, he took to Facebook. It’s alright,” Funke opened up. Continuing Jenifa said, “Ask him when did he come to my house last? He left me here in my rented apartment with nothing and he will just dash in and dash out. He gets abusive, caustic anytime we have a misunderstanding and often told me to my face, he’s going to his wife in Oshodi. He sent me SMS that he has seen a buyer for his house at Adeniyi Jones for N40million. He asked me if he should sell it and that if he does, he will buy me a new car and a rent me a new apartment. “Why now? I don’t need all that, I want my sanity. I respect him to the end but he chose to treat me that way. He said he wanted to clip my wings. After Funke ignored him, he sent her another text abusing her and calling her names. So you can see that he does not mean well for me,” – The actress ended. Funke Akindele’s fans were surprised that her husband was the first person to reveal the crack in their marriage on Facebook few weeks ago when he said marrying her was the greatest mistake of his life. The actress said her ex-hubby did that after she refused to pick his calls. What else do you expect from a polygamist who has 6 children and several concubines? Thank God Funke is doing well now. May God see her through this trying period.

The accused was said to have broken into the house of the victim in company with another accomplice, who is currently at large. Both men had initially sought for the abode of an unidentified woman from Essient in front of her house at Railway Line, Otto in Ebute-Meta. Immediately Essient went into her room, Michael and his partner were said to have broken into her house. While his accomplice held her mouth, the accused allegedly tore her bra and panties and had carnal knowledge of her. Essient’s scream, however, attracted her neighbours who broke the door and apprehended Michael while he was pulling up his trousers. His accomplice allegedly grabbed N10, 000 under the victim’s pillow before fleeing. The police claimed that the accused, who was arraigned on six counts of felony, assault, rape, stealing, also gave them false information about his name and address. July 14, 2013 – Antichrist Church Where Animals Are Killed For Sacrifice & Visitors Served With Alcohol Discovered In Ogun State, Nigeria God Is Angry With Nigeria Welcome to a weird church where animals are freely slaughtered for sacrifice. As you step into this place of worship, you are confronted with the sight of a spot on the right that will make you conclude that you may have strayed into a slaughterhouse. Even though insinuations of a slaughterhouse stick out starkly and grisly, this is by no means an abattoir. There is neither buying and selling of meat in this worship centre called As God Said, It Must Done, The Temple of The Most High God. An evangelist at the church explained that the spot is called the ‘Earth Altar’ and that it’s where different types of sacrifices are offered unto God. Located on a street named after it, Off Fakunle Street, Oke-Aro in Ogun State, a suburb near Lagos, the church is neither Pentecostal nor orthodox. All the same, both the shepherd and the sheep are strongly convinced that they are serving the living God the right way. This reporter gathered that the blood splattered all over the ‘Earth Altar’ is that of animals. Similarly, in sharp dissonance, the mode of worship verges on the oddity, just as members cling on to what many people will consider unusual beliefs and teachings of the church. As your curiosity wanders untrammeled at the multihued sight of the church and the strangeness of its name, you meet Prophet Blessed Dike, the general overseer and self- styled seer. He tells you with celestial audacity that God revealed the name of the church to him while in a trance. “While I was praying God gave me the name of this church from the Book of Isaiah 46 verse 11”, he said. A probing by this reporter further revealed that besides the ‘Earth Altar’, the church also has a place called the ‘Holy of Holies.’ A worker in the church, Mr. Isaiah Anyaehie explains that the ‘Holy of Holies’ was put up as a replica of the ark of God built by Moses in the Old Testament. Like the pool of Bethesda in the Bible, members believe that anytime you are sick and you climb into the ‘Holy of Holies’, you would instantly receive your healing. Here, members show forth when they also want to receive forgiveness of sins and other requests from God. “We have access to the ‘Holy of Holies’ anytime there is a special programme in the church. When you ascend into the ‘Holy of Holies’, you would be healed of whatever ailment you have and whatever you ask God for, He would do it for you,” another member said. While you are still wondering why the entire premises is painted in red and white, the self- styled seer tells you that white symbolizes peace while red is totemic as it blots out sins. “God used the blood to wipe out the sins of Adam and Eve. We offer sacrifices because that is what God commands. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and other great men in the Bible offered sacrifices,” he said. A female member of the church revealed to this reporter that members of this church are expected to wear red or white attires every first and last Sunday of the month. On the floor of the auditorium, there are straight red lines drawn across the floor. She explained that the red lines are Angels’ pathways. “God revealed to Daddy to make those pathways because angels usually visit the church,” she said. There are two types of sacrifices that are offered in As God Said It Must Be Done, the Temple of The Most High God, this reporter gathers. There is the sacrifice of atonement, which is offered when seeking forgiveness of sins from God. In carrying out the sacrifice, the prophet slaughters whatever animal the member provides at the ‘Earth Altar’ and ‘forgiveness’ is obtained from God after the prophet has prayed and blessed the person. There is also the sacrifice of thanksgiving offered when a member wants to thank God for a favour granted him by God. The type of animal used for this type of sacrifice may vary based on individual needs. “You can bring a cow, a ram, a goat, a chicken or even a dove,” another female member of the church said. Creepy and funny caveats are never in short supply at As God Said It Must Be Done, the Temple of The Most High God. For instance, a woman who is in her monthly cycle is not allowed to enter into the temple; else, she may be visited by God’s wrath. Prophet Dike said “It’s a sin for a woman to come into the church while she is observing her menstrual flow. It is a very terrible thing. No woman has the right to come into the presence of God while she is menstruating.” Despite his weird doctrines, Prophet Dike is very hospitable albeit in a way that one may describe as shocking. As soon as visitors to the church among whom was this reporter stepped into the auditorium, he instructs his workers to bring them refreshments. This consists of two cartons of canned Guinness, popularly known as small stout. While you are yet to overcome the shock of seeing a prophet of God serve alcoholic drinks in the church, he further instructs that some bottles of whisky be brought to entertain his guests. Seeing the surprise on the faces of his visitors, he immediately explained the reasons for his actions. “There is nothing like alcohol or strong drink in the bible, so where did you get that from? In Deuteronomy 14 verse 26, God says, “You shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires, for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires, you shall eat there before the Lord your God and you shall rejoice, you and your household.” God told us to spend our income on what we want. If a man calls himself a man of God and he doesn’t have money, the anointing would turn to annoyance. It is better that you drink in the House of God than to go to a public place and misbehave” he said. Before the prophet was through with attending to his visitors, he had gulped two bottles of small stout. “Are you not afraid of going to hell” this reporter queries the prophet? Then he laughs hysterically and said “It is unfortunate that you have been taught the wrong doctrine from the time you were little. Who told you that hell exists? Heaven and hell do not exist. Can a spirit judge a spirit? There is nothing like heaven or hell. They don’t exist. All the punishment is here on earth. If a man cannot feed himself and his family, he is living in hell. If he cannot pay his house rent and cannot afford to buy a car for himself, he is living in hell. When your mates are enjoying life and you cannot enjoy it, you are living in hell. “If you are suffering, it means that God is punishing you for something you have done, so there is no hell anywhere. When a man dies, that is the end. He does not go anywhere and God does not judge him. In Mark 12, verses 18 to 27, it is written there that “God is not the God of the dead but of the living. “So what death are we talking about? If you are living well and you are enjoying your life, you are living in heaven. People like Aliko Dangote, Adenuga, Otedola, Obasanjo and other rich men are living in heaven already. In the Bible, it is written that it’s God’s wish that we live in health and prosper even as our soul prospers.” Led by God to steal? Reflecting on how he came into the ministry as well as his early encounter with the “holy spirit”, Prophet Dike hinted “From my tender age, I used to steal a lot. Wherever any person kept money, I would steal it, even if I was not there when the money was being kept. You may have money in your pocket and you would not know when I would take it. “I remember when my father used to hide his money in the spring bed in his room. Though I wasn’t around when he kept it, but the spirit of God would lead me to where the money was and I would just go straight to the room and to the exact spot where he kept the money and steal it. I did not know that it was the hand of God that was at work in me. “This thing continued and because of that, my father sent me to Benin after my primary education. I went there but I continued having the same problems until I finally came to Lagos. It was while I was in Lagos that Jesus appeared to me and gave me the message from God. “On April 14, 2001 by 7am, I was approaching Omole Phase 1 Estate when Jesus appeared to me in the form of a young man. I remember that I had a cigarette in my mouth and I thought that the odour of the smoke would offend him. He told me “Son, my father is calling you”. “I had this encounter three times. In one of such encounters, Jesus came to my shop where I was a panel beater and told me, ‘Son, my father has need for you. The time for panel beating is up, now is the time to panel beat your children. Father said you are too stubborn, but if you think you are stubborn, He’s more stubborn than you.’ “After He said that, He disappeared and I didn’t see him again. I still did not obey. I went from one shop to the other but it was one misfortune after the other. At a time, my shop got burnt and that was when I decided to obey God’s instruction. That is why till date, no one can come out and say he shepherded me. I do not have any human mentor; it’s God that is my mentor. He speaks to me all the time and when I need anything, I go to Him for advice. No man can say he ordained me. It was God that ordained me.” Man of God or Anti-Christ? “People can call me names. Some may say I am an antichrist. Others may say I am Ogboni, but I do not care. My calling was foretold in the Bible. The book of Isaiah 42 verses 1-2, says “Keep silent before me, oh Islands and let the people renew their strength. Let them speak; let them come near and let them speak; let us come near together to judgment. Who raised up the righteous man from the east, called him to his foot, gave the nations before him, and made him rule over kings? He gave them as the dust to his sword and as driven stubble to his blow.” The man from the East that God was referring to is me,” Prophet Dike boasted and added that “On October 28, 2012, I met with God in the Garden of Eden. In that revelation, Oyedepo was there, Adeboye was there, Okonkwo was there, Pope John Paul was there and so many other pastors. While we were meeting, God was very angry and told me to drive them away , because they were not doing His will and they were encouraging people to worship Jesus instead of God. Four months after that, the Pope died. God raised me to test people to know whether they are obeying the law of God or the law of men. There is nothing like the trinity. What we have is God, the Word and the Spirit. And those are the three witnesses.” God is angry with Nigeria “One of the reasons why God is angry with Nigeria is because they have abandoned the day that God said the New Year should be celebrated. They are now celebrating January 1 as the New Year day. It is totally wrong. New Year should be celebrated on July 10 each year and not on January 1. In the book of Leviticus 16 verse 29, God says: “This shall be a statute forever for you. In the seventh month on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls and do no work at all, whether a native of your own country or a stranger who dwells among you.”, he quipped. On the New Testament More curious to know why some of their doctrines negate what is written in the Bible, especially in the New Testament, Prophet Dike said “the New Testament is the mind of man but the Old Testament is the mind of God. “In the Old Testament, God spoke directly to the prophets and they wrote down what He said, but in the New Testament, the disciples only wrote their minds. For instance, there is nothing like being born again because God can never be born again. The New Testament is not the mind of God. It is men speaking and not God. In the book of Matthew for instance, what is written there is the mind of Matthew and not the mind of God. But in the Old Testament, God spoke directly to his prophets. He spoke directly to people like Moses, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Solomon and so on.” One of the cardinal points of Christianity is the belief that Jesus Christ is the son of God, and that he died for the sins of the world and rose again. Prophet Dike is furious over these assertions. “Jesus was just a servant and not God. He has finished his duty on earth the same way other prophets finished their calling,he said adding “Any Christian that leaves God and starts giving glory to Jesus should be ashamed. Jesus can never be God. He is not the savior and he did not die for anyone. Anyone that tells you that Jesus is the son of God is a fraud and is not of God. Do the Muslims worship Mohammed? No. They worship only God, but you see Christians worshiping Jesus and even equating him with God. “In the book of Deuteronomy, God says he is the only one that should be worshiped and that we should not bow down to any image. So why do people worship Jesus when he is just a prophet? He did not die for anybody’s sins. He died just like any other human being. If he died for you, why are many people still afraid to go to their villages? If you say that Jesus is the only son of God, then what was Adam? Was he not also a son? “When Adam who was made in the image of God could not save you, then who is Jesus to save you? I don’t want to hear the name of Jesus because he is not God and has never been God. God is very angry with Nigeria because they have taken His glory and given it to a mortal man. Why we have this high level insecurity is because of God’s wrath.” This reporter sought to know from some members why they attend the church and if they are not skeptical of the doctrines propagated by the prophet. The leader of the men’s fellowship in the church, Mr. Richard Onyekachukwu said that he would continue attending the church because God used the prophet to raise him from the dead. His wife, Esther confirmed his claim. According to her, “My husband was admitted at LASUTH (Lagos State University Teaching Hospital) for what started as fever. The situation gradually worsened and he eventually died. Doctors had certified him dead and his brothers had started making plans to take him to the village for burial. But when I called the prophet, without seeing my husband, he prayed for him and he came back to life.” [Report by Chinelo Obogo, Saturday Sun] Without doubt, this man is an antichrist. Lord[/ [color=#990000]color] have mercy! End time is here for real.

A while back – about four months ago – Eniola Badmus posted a photo of herself where she proudly showed off her bikini bod on her Instagram page. Trust her haters, they kinda yabbed her via the comment section but Eniola wasn’t moved! In a recent interview with a national newspaper, the yoruba actress took time to address the issue. See excerpts below: You must have been very courageous to have dared to wear a bikini recently. I don’t like all these questions that bother on my size. Abi am the biggest person in the world? Were they expecting me to wear a night wear like am wearing now to the pool? Na wa for Nigerians sef. I wore what was appropriate and still they are making funny comments. I didn’t even wear a bikini and yet they won’t stop talking. You don’t favour your critics? The moment they try to sound negative you take them to the cleaners. Do you get furious easily? No I don’t. It’s just that I don’t tolerate intimidation from anyone. In other parts of the world people commit suicide at times because of intimidation. When you allow yourself to be intimidated then depression comes in and when depression comes you want to harm yourself. So for that reason I don’t allow anybody to intimidate me or intimidate anyone around me. I just don’t like it. I hate negative vibes. If I have a friend and she tries to sound negative I keep a distance. I want happy people around me. But to answer your question, in recent times, I have engaged my critics for making my business theirs. I am not the biggest person in the world now or am I? I don’t know why they keep commenting on my size. We all can’t be slim and I like me just the way I am so they should please leave me the hell alone. I am séxier than some slim people. I mean I’m surprised that people can make it an issue. But in all honesty, is a weight reduction programme an option for you? No, already I exercise to keep fit and I am fit the way I am. I have said it before and I will say it again, I am healthier than a lot of slim people. But that is not to say I don’t exercise. I do. In fact, I love swimming. Even, if your man says so? No I can’t lose weight for any man. Any man who doesn’t like me the way I am can as well keep a distance. Why must I even lose weight for a man? What if I lose weight and I find someone else and he says I want you to add weight for me then I will add weight again for the person. It doesn’t make any sense. Everybody can’t like you so if you don’t like me just stay away. Any plans for a plus-size foundation? No, but if I must do anything for the plus-size, it has to be clothing the plus-size. I am a very trendy and up to date babe. I have that urge to cloth the plus-size because it’s what I’m good at. If you are a plus-size and you have a problem putting your wardrobe together you can contact me and I will do a good job on that. I know what fits and what’s trendy at the same time.

Skin Conditions: Teenage Acne (continued) Acne Prevention Tips Here are tips that may help control acne. Don't over-wash or use harsh scrubs. Acne is not caused by dirt. Two gentle washings a day is enough. Too much cleaning can leave skin irritated and dry, triggering glands to produce more oil, increasing the likelihood of pimples. Use oil-free or noncomedogenic products (those that won't clog pores) on your face. Don't squeeze or pick blemishes. Popping pimples can drive acne bacteria deeper into the skin. Picking can lead to more inflammation and permanent scarring. Don't let acne define who you are. Do what you can to improve your skin, working with a dermatologist, if necessary, and keep doing the things you enjoy. |
Skin Conditions: Teenage Acne Almost all teens get acne. It happens when an oily substance called sebum clogs pores. Pimples usually pop up on the face, neck, back, chest, and shoulders. Acne isn't a serious health risk, though severe acne can cause permanent scars. Acne can also damage self-esteem. What Does Acne Look Like? Acne can appear as one of the following: Whiteheads: White dots that are pores impacted with oil and skin covered by skin layers. Blackheads: Black bumps that are impacted pores in which material pushes out through the follicles. The black color is not from dirt. It may be from bacteria, dead skin cells, and matter that react with oxygen. Papules, pustules or nodules: More serious lesions appearing red and swollen due to inflammation or infection of the tissue around the clogged follicles, which are often painful and feel hard. Cysts: Deep, pus-filled pimples. Why Do Some People Get Acne and Others Don't? It is not clear why some people are more prone to acne than others. The exact cause of acne is not known, but hormones called androgens can play a role. Androgens increase in both boys and girls during puberty. Androgens make the skin's oil glands get larger and make more sebum. Androgens also can increase because of hormonal changes related to pregnancy or starting or stopping birth control pills. Genetics may also matter. If your parents had acne, you may have inherited that tendency. Some medications (for example, epilepsy medication, prednisone, androgens taken as medicine, and lithium) can cause acne. Cosmetics that have a greasy consistency may also clog pores. Water-based products are less likely to cause acne than oil-based makeup. Other things that can make acne worse include: Friction caused by leaning on or rubbing the skin; harsh scrubbing Picking or squeezing blemishes Pressure from bike helmets, backpacks, or tight collars Changing hormone levels in adolescent girls and adult women two to seven days before the start of the menstrual period Stress How Is Acne Treated? Dermatologists (doctors who specialize in skin problems) often treat acne, particularly in severe cases. Family or general practitioners, pediatricians, or internists can treat milder forms of acne. Treatments may include: Nonprescription ("over the counter" topicaltreatments: "Topical" means that you put these products on your skin. They're not pills. These include salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, and sulfur. These treatments are available in many forms including gels, lotions, creams, soaps, and pads. When these products are used regularly, they are moderately effective in treating acne. It may take 4-8 weeks for skin to improve. Prescription topical treatments: These include benzoyl peroxide, antibiotics, tretinoin, tazarotene, adapalene, and azelaic acid. Prescription oral drug treatments: For people with moderate to severe acne, doctors often prescribe oral antibiotics (pills) in addition to topical medication. Oral antibiotics are thought to help control acne by curbing the growth of bacteria, thereby decreasing inflammation. They are usually taken daily for four to six months and then tapered and discontinued as acne improves. The most potent oral drug, isotretinoin, is usually taken once or twice a day for 16 to 20 weeks. It is believed to reduce the size of the oil glands so that much less oil is produced and to help prevent clogged pores. That curbs the growth of acne-causing bacteria. Because of the risk of birth defects, women of childbearing age must not be pregnant and must not become pregnant while taking isotretinoin. |

The two thousand member Baptist church was filled to overflowing capacity one Sunday morning. The preacher was ready to start the sermon when two men, dressed in long black coats and black hats entered thru the rear of the church. One of the two men walked to the middle of the church while the other stayed at the back of the church. They both then reached under their coats and withdrew automatic weapons. The one in the middle announced, "Everyone willing to take a bullet for Jesus stay in your seats!" Naturally, the pews emptied, followed by the choir. The deacons ran out the door, followed by the choir director and the assistant pastor. After a few moments, there were about twenty people left sitting in the church. The preacher was holding steady in the pulpit. The men put their weapons away and said, gently, to the preacher, "All right, pastor, the hypocrites are gone now. You may begin the service." |

A man comes back from work at night and heads straight to the bedroom to make love to his wife. He got into the blanket and they made a quick one. When he is done, he goes to the kitchen only to find his wife looking for something in the fridge. He asks his wife how she quickly made it to the kitchen when they've just made love. Alarmed, his wife says "that was my mother in the bedroom, she was tired when she arrived so I let her sleep in our room." Wife runs to her mother and ask why she didn't say something. Mother replies and says "you know me and your husband don't speak to each other and I wasn't going to start today!" |
