Travel / Re: Nigerian Passport: Married Women Need Husband's Permission! by algood(f): 2:30pm On Nov 13, 2006

Seun

to face the fact i dont think there is anything wrong seeking consent from ones husband before getting an international passport.

the man is the head of the house and there is nothing we ladies can do about it.

sometimes when i look at the women fightng for equity in gender and equal opportunities, to me i beleive they are pretty wasting there time and exhibiting their nuisance value.

there can never be equality in gender no matter hw position a woman is, she still has to respect and remain under the umbrella of his husband.
its biblical so we cant change it.

for the ladies in the house and for the singles, u will still need to get a passport that bears your husband name if you want to travel as a family or for other reasons, the better u realise there is no big deal the better life its for you.

there is no big deal about seeking consent, if you love a man, its your husband, your head, you have to be submissive in total, men are there to protect our interest except for the irresponsible ones in the society.

i hope this makes some sense

hymmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Is there a law in Nigeria?can someone just tell me am missing something.

It is true u have to seek your husband permission before u can get an international passport says the Nigeria law, but i wonder if the immigration officers knows about it or they never take that aspect serious.

As we all knows anything goes in Nigeria so far you have your money.

This takes me back memoy lane of my experience at the festac immgation office where i went for my international passport with my son.

In my case my husband is not in the country, i have to pay 12k each after the filling, local govt and the stuff i was to undergo an interview, the immigration officer helping was nt on sit and one of the officer gave me my file with my son and ask me to go in for interview, the guy checked my file and requested for my husband consent for my passport and my son for this reason i should go and get his consent and kept the file.

i went to look for the other officer who has a higher rank, do you know what he sid when i told him what happened " he said the guy needs money cant he see his signature on the file"

we immediately went there he picked my file in the drawing cross the guy statement and wrote approved and went in for the scan pics and data information.

so here in Nigeria there are laws but never adhere to strictly.

can i ask u very simple sincere question, will u prefer your wife to hold u marriage certificates, the children certificates her passport, or wont you say honey bring those document and let me keep it for you.

be sincere with yourself.
Travel / Re: Refusal Of UK Study Visa by algood(f): 11:22am On Nov 13, 2006
Hello guys,
following the trend of hw innocent Nigerians on genuine course are being denied visa at the embassy is highly alarming.

But the question i will ask is what can we do, what signifiacan effort cn we make when our so called leaders who ought to make things work are the ones who is making lifes so hard and difficult.

If the education sector back home here in Nigeria is souund and qualitative no ones will bother yo travel to uk or us to study.
lets take Ghana our neigbhouring country for example, they dont face the kind of insult and
embarrasment we face at the embassy here.Nigerias are now travelling to study in Ghana and yet we still claim the giant of Africa or Giant of Poverty and lack bearing and magnitude.

DuduI i quite agree with you and feel you but the question is how many Nigerias that have make it want to come back?
coming back to what?
to be 419, or killed by those who will envy them in their families.

I love my country and i beleive somuch in Nigeria but the question i keep asking is what is the problem and its there no solution out of all this mess.

we appear at the embassy, we are deny visa we stll go back as long as we are notasked not to come.

my brothers and sisters, i have my husband abroad i cant evn go and visit him, am dneied visa at the embassy based on reason best known to them.

its really a pathetic situation we are in, i do nt blame those out there who wont come back and those who want to leave the country.

Our leaders have been there, they saw it all because of wht they will eat and make out of office, they never bothered to give a solution a try

old shame, thanks for your concern but you got me wrong.
contrary to your thinking of my desperate intentions and denial the second time its not the way you are thinking.
i guess you did not read my story line well and if you did u do not have an understanding of the reasons why i needed the visa

let me make myself clear to you at my first appearance i do not know much about all this denail and some protocol that needs to be observed.

i am going on F2 visa, my husband his in the state on F1. I have all my document, am comfortable here in nigeria, i have a good job and am an engineer by profession.

all the same i can go any lenght just to be with my husband.

we just got married and its not up to three years. do you understand or have a feel of what its like.

i was only advise, to stand a better chance next time try and get a uk or south afican visa jsut to disvirgin my pasport.

thats all i want to do.

if am desperate to live this country, i will know how to go about it, i wont come here and be looking for an assistance.

Business / Re: You Do Not Need Money To Start A Successful Business by algood(f): 3:37pm On Oct 13, 2006
i have gone through all what you guys wrote in here and i beleive i have really learnt something.
there is a big difference between idea, skill, talent experience and capital.they alll have equal weight but the most important of all respectively is the idea-skill-capital for small scale bussiness.

on the other hand if you are talking about big time bussiness my dear i think money plays a very big role here and who you know in the market for you to have a succesfull bussiness.

from experience i happen to work with a managing director who has the money, the connection but lack managerial aspect of the work.

the company almost crumble but with the itervention of the who is who in the society he was able to scale through and right now he his back in the mess.

i have an idea and the skill for something in my field of study but all along i have been in the school of taught who believes capital its a must before starting a bussiness.

i have started out now with astep to climb the ladder by getting my company registered and starting out with the little capital i have.

i beleive with ideas and skill you can start something meanifull with your life without necesary having millions in your account

i rest my case
