Career / Re: What Next After A 3rd Class From University? by algood(f): 6:50pm On Feb 24, 2009
I made a third class in ife, though its not what i shuld but lack of interest in the course i was offered , hoping to change and invovlment in politics lead to my third class, by the time i start putting things straight, there is no way i culd escape it.

My dear, just like the last person said, it does not define u, am glad to let u know before i start my masters programme here, i was doing good in Nigeria .

I have acquired experience in the structural field, my boss does not believe in paper but what u have in ur brain.

I read building in Ife, i am in for my masters in civil /environmental engineering (structures option).

I look at the course am taking compare to those i was not really interested in back in my university days; that i failed , there is nothing there, i blame myelf for not doing what i ought to have done then, that i am now doing now and which i now know now and am happy about it.

So to my folks still out in school, third class is not the best, it affects ones self esteem, give in ur best and make the best out when u are still young, than learning it the hard way.

topelenege:

[size=8pt]It's one thing to get the perfect design, it's another to get it done perfectly. The problem here in Nigeria is not the civil work in terms of structures but the FINISHING. Believe me the standard here is way too low. So leave the issue of contractors redoing anything; it doesn't work that way here. They'll be wondering "what defects are you seeing" that they can't  notice. I've been to the US once(just six months ago), with the homes you've got there, it will be difficult to get the right quality driven contractor that will handle the Project 'US standard'.

I completely disagree with you, there are competent hands in Nigeria though they are few, i count myself one before i left the country for improvement.

The proect the guy is talking about is not to be build in Sango or Iyana Ipaja my dear, we are talking about real asthetic work.
May be u shuld visit Banana Island, u ask urself this question if u are in Nigeria or outside.

@poster, there are few competent professionals in the country and pray u meet the onces that adheres to the rules and code. If u are good am telling the sky is ur limit.

There is stupid money in the hands of the few, those that can afford to buy a piece of land for 60millions and above,

Give them good design, complete one project succesfully .they will be looking for u.

But be warn u have to be good in doing (PP).

Nice building though, as a structural engineer and has work in lekki, parkview and oceaon view, we have similar nice design built according to BS81100 code.

U can import ur design to banana Island, thats a prety expensive area in Laos state now owned by People who love America design.

Just get the right set of team, and u can make ways pretty fast.

Dont also forget Nigeria buildings are reinforced concrete  and not the timbers and steel used in US.All rooms , kitchen are partition to the ceilings, not the half parting done here in US

Yea, i both are bad, but one must be more horrible than the oda, wats ur choice? No chance 2 sit on the fence here

None is my choice, am not sitting on the fence, i dont pray for any of the two.

If any of the two present itself, why shuld i kil myself over a man that does not deserve it,

The marriage is dead.

i can live my live before i am killed or run mental, this life is too precious that one shuld now kill himself over a man, if i die in that situation i might end up not making heaven .

Do you know the painful part , the man might repent and become a good man and he makes heaven.

So far i can zip up and never remarry so far my first is alive, my dear am out of that marriage once there is a threat to my life.

MrCrackles:

Are you Baba 419 Adeboye in disguise? grin

Sure i am not, but i do respect men of God.
I dont comment negative things or toyed with them.

They are trying there best by praying for our country, but they can only pray, they cant change individual attitude.
Most of us talk negative about our country, sometimes i get angry with people who the only thing the ever talk about is just the bad side of the country.

well sometimes i found myself guilty of the same crime, but try to controll my emotions.
Politics / Re: Pastor Adeboye For President 2011. Would You Vote Him? by algood(f): 8:01pm On Dec 22, 2008
This topic is absolutely of no use, because baba Adeboye will never even run for Nigeria presidency.

A man of God will only pray for the safety and good leadership for our great, miserable country called Nigeria.

Look for something else to say or discuss, dont invoke opposite of God blessing in ur life, discussing expesinve jokes like this.

I wonder if Nigeria will have an enough jobs, if all the Naija people in the Diaspora came back. I understand if they are coming to start businesses, but how about the job seekers? Are there really enough jobs. Lets remember that not everybody is losing there jobs the unemployment rate is about 6% in the US now that is still far lower than Naija. So I seriously question the mass exodus on these grounds. I am happy for Naija though it is time we got a brain gain and not a brain drain for a change

u sure its brain gain and not a brain drain, i hope it so ,if they dont get killed out of envy and trust the ever ready witches in the village.

Ok most of my girlfriends are all referred as big girls, because they are all loaded with cars, shop, house or houses and can afford almost everything they want finacially ,all married or in a stable relationship with a white man and with toy black boy or boys etc and some of them can't even read and write but just lucky to have a man that gives them everything etc

That's exactly what make them big girls.
they are the happening babes in towns, especially with all this owanbe parties, show off, latest cloths and cars.
My dear , my advice for you is to be content with ur status and be prayin for there souls, because all those material property they believed in, its all vanity .

I have reasons to believe that it is NEVER going to happen. . . . .
Obama/Clinton on the ticket is now a thing of the past! . . .not going to happen.
Kathleen Sebelus would be the VP and that would garner most of Hillary's supporters.

I dont see that happening.

Family / Re: Why Is It That When You Have A Child With A Man Or Woman In The Nigerian Communi by algood(f): 4:58pm On May 06, 2008
i think it is very wrong.

A lady leaving with a man, and assuming she is a wife without proper marriage or at least introduction from both families accepting each other, its very wrong and at the lady risk.

if a woman has a child for a man without traditional or legal right performance, she is not a wife she is just a sleeping mate.

the man can anytime say he his tired and have rights to send the woman packing since her pride price was not paid.

My aunt fall victim of this, she was leaving with this man and has four kids, they live in Portharcourt, and no one knows the husband or the family, he only visited us in lagos once, now the man said he hs no longer interested in my aunt and send her packing, without the kids.
its an issue going on presently at hime, but my point i prove to my mum was , she is not married to this man, so the man can prove in court . though what the man did his very wrong and wicked, but the law will favour him because there was never any legal or traditionall union between them.

in conclusion it is very wrong, and i think women should be wise enough, getting pregnant for a man does not mean automatic wife if the man do not pay the pride price and come and prostrate to marry u.
that instinct some sense in men , not to misbehave.

the trend is common this days all over the world not only Nigeria, but it is very wrong and women often suffers it and the end.

Wonders shall never end, in this present age and time, with all the home videos and fiction films, despite ur education u marry someone with charms.

Confess ur sin to God for forgiveness , and after that start praying with fasting for God intervention to wnthe heart of your husband back.

there is nothing too difficult for God to do.

there is nothing that has begining that doesnt have an end,

all you need if you wants to remain in your husband house is DIVINE INTERVENTION

are u fully prepared for one now, Nigeria is a country where people are smiling and suffering.
we have leaders who are busy loothing money that no one can question them, just in a ring, it is Nigeria u seea govnor donating millions of naira to university in the us in the name to get recognised and get a honorary degree, and yet our unversties back at home are lacking basic infrastructures.

one thing i believe is , a day is coming when people aew pushed to the wall and they turn back and face the govt. when people are ready to fight for there right with no labour party to come and fight for them.

Thats revolution i believe in and i hope it comes so as to put this thiefs and there offsprings in there rightfull place
