Nigerian R&B singer, Praiz has revealed that as exciting as it is to follow the trend and tap into the benefits it might be giving some artistes, he is not ready to do what doesn’t flow naturally with him.

This was revealed in an interview he had with BeatFM where he was asked about his plans to reveal genres different from R&B.

According to the singer, “While Shaku Shaku is fun, but it is not my forte”

Speaking on his 2Mins EP, Praiz said;

“it is a very important body of work to me coz it’s been a minute i dropped a whole body of work strictly R&B and i’m real;y excited about this project”

Nigeria singer and diva,queen Simi has said her major focus is on her music, while every other thing is secondary, PunchNG reports.

She reacted to some comments by fans online that her fashion style is below par. She stated;

“I believe that everybody is entitled to their opinions.
Some people may say that they don’t like my dress, shoes or any other thing.
I don’t find that surprising or strange because there are also a lot of dresses and shoes that I don’t like.

I like to be comfortable in whatever I wear and that is what dictates my outfits.”

“A lot of people have expressed their views about my dress sense on social media. Sometimes, I ‘humour’ them.

You can express yourself on my page but don’t be rude or insulting. Some of the people, who make those comments, are just full of hate and they just go all around the Internet, looking for where to spread their hate.

I am comfortable in my own skin and I just want to keep making good music and connect with my true fans.”

Simi also shared her experience of being the chief bridesmaid at her mother’s second wedding some weeks ago, she said;

“It was a wonderful experience.
Seeing my mother so happy was something I definitely enjoyed.

Speaking on the success of her sophomore album, Simi, she said;

“My last album, generated a lot of amazing responses and it really humbled me.

Iyanya has confirmed his exit from Nigerian music powerhouse, Mavin Records.

The singer made this confirmation during an interview with Beat FM in Lagos on Wednesday, February 7, 2018.

When asked to comment on his current record label, Iyanya said: “I’m now signed to Temple Music but I’m a Mavin for life.
It was not a beef. I was there and it was time to move on.”

Recall that the singer signed a deal with Mavin Records in October 2016, before the establishment of Temple Music.

Later on, Temple Management Company handed him a management deal. The brand broadened their scope to form Temple Music, a record label, in August 2017, with 9ice, Jeff Akoh, Bisola Aiyeola, DJ Jimmy Jatt, named among the pioneer artistes.

Speaking further during the Beat FM interview, Iyanya gave an explanation on the change in his sound.

“I like to try new sounds,” he said, and attributed the change to “working with different producers, writers.”

“The fan base has grown; I have fans here and abroad.
Some people like the new sound but some people are stuck in the old sound. Shout out to Don Jazzy.
He influenced my new sound,” he said.

Iyanya however left a note of acknowledgement for Don Jazzy for helping with the evolution of his music.

“Shout out to Don Jazzy.

The lyrical content of the trending DMW song, Mind, has been the cause of a huge conversation about the hook of the song, taken by Davido, being a copy of Usher Raymond’s 2004 hit single, Caught Up.

The controversy causing line is the, “and I’m so caught up /You got me feeling it, caught up,” which has now become popular and appreciated until the attention of Nigerians were drawn to Usher’s 2004 hit single which seems to carry the original line that Davido has been accused of borrowing, or is it stealing from.

DMW released the song, Mind, on January 31st, 2018 and it has the vocal input of Davido, Mayorkun, Dremo, Peruzzi and the music production contribution of Fresh VDM.

The song is fast becoming a popular song, receiving good amount of airplay but now that the issue of copied lyrics has been raised, we wait to see how Nigerians would react to the song.
