To understand why the Islamic State not only decapitates its “infidel” captives, but also mutilates and mocks their corpses—and all to sadistic laughter—one need only turn to the Koran and deeds of Islamic prophet Muhammad.

The Koran exhorts believers to “Fight them [those who oppose Islam], Allah will torment them with your hands, humiliate them, empower you over them, and heal the hearts of the believers, removing the rage from their hearts” (Koran 9:14-15).

As usual, to understand the significance of any Koran verse, one must turn to the sira and hadith—the biography and anecdotes of Muhammad, respectively—for context.
Thus we come to the following account concerning the slaughter of ‘Amr bin Hisham, a pagan Arab chieftain originally known as “Abu Hakim” (Father of Wisdom) until Muhammad dubbed him “Abu Jahl” (Father of Stupidity) for his staunch opposition to Islam.

After ‘Amr was mortally wounded by a new convert to Islam during the Battle of Badr, Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud, a close companion of Muhammad, saw the “infidel” chieftain collapsed on the ground. So he went to him and started abusing him. Among other things, Abdullah grabbed and pulled ‘Amr’s beard and stood in triumph on the dying man’s chest.

According to Al-Bidaya wa Al-Nihaya (“The Beginning and the End”), Ibn Kathir’s authoritiative history of Islam, “After that, he [Abdullah] cut his [‘Amr’s] head off and bore it till he placed it between the hands of the Prophet. Thus did Allah heal the hearts of the believers with it.”

This, then, is the true significance of Koran 9:14-15: “Fight them, Allah will torment them with your hands [mortally wounding and eventually decapitating ‘Amr], humiliate them [pulling his beard], empower you over them [standing atop him], and heal the hearts of the believers, removing the rage from their hearts [at the sight of his decapitated head].”

The logic here is that, pious Muslims are so full of zeal for Allah’s cause that the only way their inflamed hearts can be at rest is to see those who oppose Allah and his prophet utterly crushed—humiliated, mutilated, decapitated. Then the hearts of the believers can be at ease and “healed.”

This is surely one of the reasons behind the Islamic State’s dissemination of gory videos and pictures of its victims: the new “caliphate” is trying to heal the hearts of every believer inflamed for the cause of Allah.

If this sounds too farfetched, consider the following picture of a decapitated “infidel” from the Islamic State’s websites. The Arabic caption to the left says “healing for hearts”—a clear reference to the aforementioned Koran verse:

Koran 96:15-16 also alludes to the fate of ‘Amr and offers more context applicable to the Islamic State: “No! If he does not desist, we will surely drag him by the forelock—a lying, sinning forelock.”

According to al-Alusi’s tafsir, or exegesis, after Abdullah placed his foot on the dying foe of Islam, ‘Amr opened his eyes and recognized him. The once proud chieftain lamented that he was being killed by a common “goat herder,” to which Abdullah replied, “Islam elevates and nothing is elevated above it.” He then sheared his head off. “But he could not carry it, so he made holes in the ears and put thread through them and dragged the head to the prophet. Then Gabriel, peace be upon him, came laughing and saying, “O prophet, you got an ear and an ear—and the head between for a bonus!”

Based, then, on the treatment of ‘Amr bin Hisham (AKA “Abu Jahl”) as recorded in Islam’s core texts—Koran, hadith, sira, and tafsirs—all sadistic acts being carried out by the Islamic State were in fact committed by the earliest Muslims and all to the complete approval of Muhammad (and apparently the “angel” Gabriel, too). They include:

•Beheadings and mutilations (e.g., holes in ears of ‘Amr)

•Humiliation and gestures of triumph (feet on chest of fallen victim, dragging his body, or head, on the ground)

•Laughter, mockery, and celebration (for the hearts of the believers are now “healed”)
Indeed, along with the “healing for hearts” image above, consider some other pictures taken from the Islamic State’s websites and how well they conform to the above accounts describing the slaughter of ‘Amr#:

Note how in the following four pictures, to demonstrate that the enemies of Islam have been brought low, as Koran 9:14-15 promised, Islamic State members make it a point to place their feet atop their fallen corpses, most of which were first decapitated. Note also how the ubiquitous black flag of Islam is always raised above the fallen “infidels”—a reminder that “Islam elevates and nothing is elevated above it,” as Abdullah told ‘Amr, with his foot on his chest, before beheading.

In short, not only are the members of the Islamic State closely patterning themselves after Muhammad—whom Koran 33:21 exhorts believers to emulate in all ways—but even in the most sadistic of details are they finding support in their prophet.
Nor should it come as any surprise that Muslims are aware of these accounts from early Islamic history. After all, the near hagiographic Battle of Badr, including the story of ‘Amr’s slaughter, is routinely glorified worldwide in mosque sermons, on Islamic satellite stations, and in Islamic texts. It is a source of great pride.

Thus when young Muslims express their anger and frustration at the state of affairs of the Islamic world, their clerics council them to go to the jihad in Iraq and Syria and decapitate themselves an infidel—which, according to the Koran, should “heal their hearts.”

(Perhaps that’s why one former British rock star and convert to Islam is so eager to decapitate Christians? Perhap that’s why a jihadi savagely pulled out and bit into the heart of a fallen Syrian soldier—to heal his own heart by sating his rage against Allah’s “enemies”?)

Such Muslims join the jihad, and not only do they decapitate, but they mutilate, humiliate, and laugh at the disgraced enemies of Allah—in perfect emulation of the Islamic glory/gory stories they grew up on.

This is the true cult of jihad which few non-Muslims can begin to comprehend—and little wonder, considering that their political leaders, professors, and media continue to babble foolishly about how Islam is the “religion of peace.”

Khalid Kelly, an Irish Muslim convert with links to Islamic terror organisations has defended the execution of aid worker David Haines.

Shortly after news of the killing broke on Saturday, former nurse Khalid Kelly tweeted: “Lets be clear any1 nonmuslim in muslim land if they have no permission 2 b there from khalifa they wil b treated as spy & may lose their head.

“The blood of this latest hostage is on UK leaders’ hands they cud have saved him they chose not 2 & so the killing will continue until u stop.”

In a series of sickening tweets Kelly also claimed Barack Obama and David Cameron would be “hunted down for their crimes against muslims.”

Khalid, born Terence Edward Kelly, is also known by the name Taliban Terry. He is said to have converted to Islam in 2000 after being imprisoned in Saudi Arabia.

Gardai are currently probing a call made by Khalid to the FM104 Phoneshow earlier this month.

In it he claimed Irish peacekeeping troops serving in the troubled Golan Heights region should join ISIS militants.

Kelly was arrested in 2011 after claiming in the Irish Sunday Mirror he expected al-Qaeda to kill US President Barack Obama on his visit to Ireland.

I consider myself an average person intellectually working in the financial world for past 20yrs. What adds to this puzzle at least for me is that no religious leaders dead or alive have their bio more exposed than the founder of Islam, Mohamed. Jesus was a mysterious figure who showed up and gone while Buddha was a prince whose life was mostly spent meditating under a tree. However, one can find out and learn about Mohamed’s bio and sunna more than we can learn about George Washington. It’s OUT THERE! BARENAKED! Comedian Bill Maher was right when he said religion is a neurological disorder. But nowhere it is more apparent than among the followers of Islam. I am still shaking my head in disbelief………

I frequently pass through Abia state to Calabar and I tell you, no matter the place you are coming from, once you get to Abia state, your journey would become more difficult. You can't pass through Aba to Ikot Ekpene unless you want get there without your car. Even for someone on his feet, its like crossing a small river or passing through a valley. The same thing passing through Umuahia. There are real craters on the road. If any of these media houses should beam their lights on the roads, Abia state would be seen in a more rounded vision.

When I got elected president of the United States, I promised I would change the relationship between the Muslim world and America. That promise was based on my assumption that I understood the Muslim culture and religion better than any prior American president, because I grew up in Indonesia and went to Islamic school. To me, dealing with the Muslim world was a no brainer.

Instead of starting my presidency with a monumental speech thanking the American people for electing me, their first black president, and launching a new dawn in the healing of America from the ravages of race relations, I chose to give my most important first speech to the Muslim world in Cairo. I told them everything they needed to hear. I gave them the respect they desperately needed, and even bowed to his majesty, the King of Saudi Arabia. This all came at a cost to my popularity among my own forgiving citizens and my standing in the world.

I was willing to negotiate unconditionally with Iran and refused to take sides in their civil unrest. I removed every reference to Islam’s connection to terrorism from all of US government documents and labeled terrorist acts on my own military personnel at Fort Hood as “workplace violence.” I did not respond to Islamists who embarrassed me before my re-election, when I blamed their attack on the Benghazi consulate and murder of 4 American officials on a video and not on Islamic terror. I made sure to lift up the spirits of the Muslim people even at the expense of my own people. I accused my opposition of being racists and allowed my attorney general to tell Americans that they are a “nation of cowards.”

But to my surprise, nothing worked. Today, the Middle East still hate us, is in flames and radical Islam is empowered like never before. The first radical Islamic State was launched during my presidency and the people of Egypt, to whom I spoke 6 years ago, are now calling me Satan and terror supporter. I also have lost the respect and confidence of many Americans, US allies and even our enemies.

I now declare that I am a changed man and it is not too late for America. I now declare that the problem we face in the world today is not the US, but Islam, period. US policy towards the Middle East was at worst imperfect and confused, but its failures fall squarely on the shoulders of a Muslim world unable to live in peace, neither with itself nor with the rest of the world. It is time for moderate Muslims to take control of their Islamic states if they are truly the majority and the terrorists are truly the minority.

The king of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates are warning us that ISIS will attack Europe in a month and the US in two months. This is my response to them: Enough trying to scare us into doing your dirty work for you, while you come out smelling like a rose. You have no control over your jihadists because jihad is a basic educational requirement for a Muslim and the Muslim head of state. If it is true that moderate Muslims reject jihad as violence and war and are truly the majority, and terrorists are the minority, then you should have no problem with crushing Islamic terrorism. But somehow you Muslim leaders seem helpless and refuse to be open with your own people about condemning jihad by name. You keep financing it while winking at terror groups to do their jihad obligation against the outside world rather than within your kingdom. Moderate Muslims are not acting with the confidence of a majority and you keep pandering to the jihadists at the expense of the safety and security of America.

We in America will not play this game anymore. It is up to you to prove to us that moderate Islam is the majority and that you are capable of handling it, otherwise we in the West must take the terrorists’ word that Islam has declared war on us.

I agree with the solutions of the British Prime Minister, David Cameron, but I will even go further. The following are executive orders effective today:

1- Citizenship of Naturalized Americans who join terror groups to fight against our nation will be revoked and their passports confiscated.

2- Assimilation of Muslim immigrants already inside the US is a requirement for citizenship.

3- All Muslim immigrants must declare they have renounced Sharia Law and those who do not wish to do so will be deported.

4- Muslim Groups sympathetic to ISIS and other Islamic terror groups will be dissolved immediately.

5- Religious visas and immigration from Muslim countries must be brought to a halt until Islamic terrorism is defeated.

6- Since Islam as it is practiced today, is more of a political ideology than a religion, all permits to build mosques must be placed on hold until further notice.

7- We demand equal access inside the Muslim world. If Saudi Arabia can build mosques in the US, then the US must be able to build churches, synagogues or temples inside Saudi Arabia. Access for access will be our policy.

8- Any religion that condemns its followers to death for leaving it would be declared illegal to operate inside the US.

8- Drilling for oil and building refineries on American soil is a matter of national security and must start immediately for the benefit of America and its allies.

Madam Speaker, actually I was expecting flowers from you. I am celebrating an anniversary these days. Exactly ten years and two days ago, I left a party whose name I cannot immediately remember. During these ten years and two days. I have been much criticized. Most importantly for always saying the same thing.

My critics are right. Indeed, my message had been the same during all these years. And today, I will repeat the same message about Islam again. For the umpteenth time. As I have been doing for ten years and two days.

I have been vilified for my film Fitna. And not just vilified, but even prosecuted. Madam Speaker, while not so many years ago, everyone refused to broadcast my film Fitna, we can today watch Fitna 2, 3, 4 and 5 daily on our television screens. It is not a clash of civilizations that is going on, but a clash between barbarism and civilization.

The Netherlands has become the victim of Islam because the political elite looked away. Here, in these room, they are all present, here and also in the Cabinet, all these people who looked away. Every warning was ignored.

As a result, also in our country today, Christians are being told: “We want to murder you all.” Jews receive death threats. Swastika flags at demonstrations, stones go through windows, Molotov cocktails, Hitler salutes are being made, macabre black ISIS flags wave in the wind, we hear cries, such as “F-ck the Talmud,” on the central square in Amsterdam.

Indeed, Madam Speaker, this summer, Islam came to us.

In all naivety, Deputy Prime Minister Asscher states that there is an “urgent demand” from Muslims to “crack down” on this phenomenon. Last Friday, in its letter to Parliament, the Cabinet wrote that jihadists are hardly significant. They are called a “sect”, and a “small” group.

This is what those who look away wish, these deniers of the painful truth for ten years and two days, the ostrich brigade Rutte 2.

But the reality is different. According to a study, 73% of all Moroccans and Turks in the Netherlands are of the opinion that those who go to Syria to fight in the jihad are “heroes.” People whom they admire.

And this is not a new phenomenon. Thirteen years ago, 3,000 people died in the attacks of 9/11. We remember the images of burning people jumping from the twin towers. Then, also, three-quarters of the Muslims in the Netherlands condoned this atrocity. That is not a few Muslims, but hundreds of thousands of Muslims in the Netherlands condoning terrorism and saying jihadists are heroes. I do not make this up. It has been investigated. It is a ticking time bomb.

Madam Speaker, is it a coincidence that for centuries Muslims were involved in all these atrocities? No, it is not a coincidence. They simply act according to their ideology. According to Islam, Allah dictated the truth to Muhammad, “the perfect man.” Hence, whoever denies the Koran, denies Allah. And Allah leaves no ambiguity about what he wants. Here are a few quotes from the Quran:

Surah 8 verse 60: “Prepare to strike terror into the hearts of the enemies of Allah.”

Surah 47 verse 4: “Therefore, when ye meet the unbelievers, smite at their necks”. We see it every day in the news.

Another quote from Allah is Surah 4 verse 89: “So take not friends from the ranks of the unbelievers, seize them and kill them wherever ye find them.”

Madam Speaker, the Koran on the table before you is a handbook for terrorists. Blood drips from its pages. It calls for perpetual war against non-believers. That Koran before you is the hunting permit for millions of Muslims. A license to kill. That book is the Constitution of the Islamic State. What ISIS does is what Allah commands.

This bloodthirsty ideology was able to nestle in the Netherlands because our elites looked away. Neighborhoods such as Schilderswijk, Transvaal, Crooswijk, Slotervaart, Kanaleneiland, Huizen, you name it. There, the caliphate is under construction; there, the Islamic State is in preparation.

During the past ten years and two days , the ostrich Cabinets did nothing. It has nothing to do with Islam, they lied to the people. Imagine them having to tell the truth.

But the people have noticed. Two thirds of all Dutch say that the Islamic culture does not belong in the Netherlands. Including the majority of the electorate of the Labour Party, the majority of the voters of the VVD, the majority of the voters of the CDA, and all the voters of the PVV.

The voters demand that, after ten years and two days of slumber, measures are finally taken. The voters demand that something effective happen. No semi-soft palliatives. Allow me to make a few suggestions to the away-with-us mafia. Here are a few things which should happen starting today:

Recognize that Islam is the problem. Start the de-Islamization of the Netherlands. Less Islam.

Close our borders to immigrants from Islamic countries. Immediate border controls. Stop this “cultural enrichment”.

Close every Salafist mosque which receives even a penny from the Gulf countries. Deprive all jihadists of their passports, even if they only have a Dutch passport. Let them take an ISIS passport.

Do not prevent jihadists from leaving our country. Let them leave, with as many friends as possible. If it helps, I am even prepared to go to Schiphol [airport] to wave them goodbye. But let them never come back. That is the condition. Good riddance.

And, as far as I am concerned, anyone who expresses support for terror as a means to overthrow our constitutional democracy has to leave the country at once. If you are waving an ISIS flag you are waving an exit ticket. Leave! Get out of our country!

Madam Speaker, war has been declared against us. We have to strike back hard. Away with these people! Enough is enough!

Brother Rachid, a former Muslim and the son of a Moroccan imam, has posted a video called “A Message to President Obama From a Former Muslim” in which he attempts to give the President a crash course in Islamic studies. He begins by telling the president that he is wrong when he said that ISIL speaks for no religion.

“I can tell you with confidence that ISIL speaks for Islam. ISIL is a Muslim organization.”

Brother Rachid tells Obama that ISIL’s leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, holds a PhD in Islamic studies and, therefore, knows more about Islam than Obama does. There are 10,000 members in ISIL who are all Muslims and come from different countries, with Islam being the common denominator.

“They implement Sharia in every piece of land they conquer. They pray five times a day. They have called for a Caliphate which is a central doctrine in Sunni Islam and they are willing to die for their religion.”

Brother Rachid explains that in his youth growing up in Morocco, he was trained to hate Israel, the West, and America, which was considered to be the Great Satan.

“We have been brainwashed to hate all of you in our sacred texts, in our prayers, in our Friday sermons, in our educational systems. We were ready to join any group that one day would fight you and destroy you and make Islam the religion of the whole world, as the Koran says.”

The tutorial continued, with Brother Rachid imploring President Obama to deal with the root of the problem, not just the symptoms–of which ISIL is just one symptom.

Anjem Choudary, the honest British imam gave a television interview this week in which he defended acts of terror, including the beheading of foreign journalists, as consistent with the teachings of the Koran, Breitbart News blogger John Sexton reported.

London-based cleric Anjem Choudary told Russia Today that “terrorizing the enemy is in fact part of Islam” in an interview with the English-language RT news program, “Worlds Apart.”

Choudary cited a passage of the Koran that calls for Muslims to use “steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah.”

“So terrorizing the enemy is in fact part of Islam,” Choudary said. “I mean this is something that we must embrace and understand as far as the jurisprudence of Islam is concerned.”

Sexton wrote that, “Choudary went on to say that Muslims make no distinction between civilians and armed forces since civilians elect the leaders who direct the armed forces.”

Choudary, also a lawyer who lectures on Sharia law, headed an Islamic group, Al Muhajiroun, which was banned in the United Kingdom.

Two attendees of Al Muhajiroun events were arrested in the 2013 murder of a British Army veteran of the Afghanistan war, who was stabbed to death in broad daylight on a busy London street.

Choudary has sparred with Fox News’ Sean Hannity and CNN’s Brian Stelter in recent interviews, and even spawned an anti-Choudary Facebook page.

Mohammad’s wives

(1) Khadijah Bint. Khuwaylid: Khadija was the employer of Mohammad. Her father was killed in a battle. She was a business lady and wealthy. Mohammad was 25 and she was 40 when they got married. Khadija had two previous marriages before marrying Mohammad. That is, Mohammad was her third husband. Mohammad had his first revelation when he was 40 and Khadija was 55. They had the togetherness of 15 years. Khadija bore all the children of Mohammad. She died in December 619 A.D. at the age of 65. Muhammad did not have to work, as long as Khadija was live.

(2) Saudah Bint. Zama: She was neither young nor beautiful. She was the right lady to take care of Mohammad’s young children after the death of Khadijah. They got married in 620 A.D. She was middle aged, plump, jolly and of kindly disposition. She was a widow. She lived on until the end of time of Umor. Mohammad married Sauda when he was 53 and she was 50 almost same time when he married Aisha. It is stated that Sauda “gave” her “nights” to Ayesha to have him for sex (http://www.islamic-paths.org/Home/English/Muhammad/Book/Wives/Chapter-02.htm). That meant that old Sauda was a maid servant while young Ayesha was for sex,

(3) Ayesha Bint Abu Bakar Al-Siddiq: Mohammad married Aisha 3 years before migration to Medina. She was 6 years old when the prophet married her and he consummated the marriage when she turned 9 years. She was the only virgin woman in Mohammad’s life. She transmitted 2000 hadiths. When the prophet died, she was 18 years old. She died at the age of 57.

(3) Hafsah Bint Umar: Hafsah was the daughter of Caliph Umor. She was first married to Khunais Ibn alkhattab. She became a widow at the age of 18. She married Mohammad in 635 A.D (13 A.H) 3 months after migration. She was 20 years and Mohammad was 56 years when they got married. She lived with Mohammad for 8 years. She died in 47 A.H. (668 A.D.) at the age of 63.

(4) Zainab Bint Khuzaima: Her first husband, Abdullah bin Jahsh died in the battle of Uhud. Therefore, Mohammad married her. He married her soon after his marriage to Hafsah. She was 30 and Mohammad was 56 when they got married. She died very soon after the marriage.

(5) Umm Salam Hind Bint. Abi Umayya: Her first husband was Abd. B. Abdul Asad. They got married in 626 A.D. (4 A.H.) when she was 29. She had 4 children (Salama, Umar, Zaynab, Darra) from her previous marriage. She had to take care of her children. Her son was Salama. She was with Mohammad for 7 years. She outlived all other wives of Mohammad. She died in 61 A.H. at an age of 84.

(6) Zainab Bint Jahsh: Her original name was Barra. She married Mohammad in 5 A.H. (627 A.D). She was 35 and Mohammad was 58 when they were married. She was originally married to Zayed (Muhammad’s adopted son) and Mohammad himself arranged that marriage. She was the first cousin of Mohammad. Zainab’s mother Umayma was the daughter of Abdul Muttalib, Mohammad’s grandfather. One day the prophet (saw) “beheld in a loose UnCloth, the beauty of Zainab, and burst wanted to have her”. The grateful adopted son Zayed bin Harith then divorced Zainab to clear the way for the prophet to marry her. Special revelations were made to sanctify the marriage (33:37,53) that permits the Muslims to marry an adopted son’s wife. However, this is absurd when Islam forbids adoption of children (33:4,5,37). Mohammad claims that Allah Himself performed his nikah with her. She was 35 when Mohammad married her. Ayat of hijab (33:53-56) was also revealed after the feast of their marriage. Zainab was a very independent lady. She used to earn her own living by selling leather products and was not dependent on Mohammad for his charity. By marrying Zainab Bint, Jahsh Mohammad demonstrated that it is permissible to marry a first cousin. She died in 20 A.H. (641 A.D.). She was the first wife to die after Mohammad’s death.

(7) Juwairiah Bint. Al-Harith: She was taken as a captive in a raid. That is, she was part of spoils of war in the battle against Banu Mustaliq. Her father was the chief of Banu Mustaliq. She was taken as a captive by a soldier named Thabit Ibn Qais. She was extremely beautiful. Some claim that Mohammad bought her from Thabit. Mohammad married her in 5 A.H. (627 A.H.), when he was 58 and she was 20. The marriage took place after Mohammad’s marriage to Zainab Bint Jahsh. She was married to Mohammad for 6 years. She lived for another 39 years after Mohammad’s death. She died in 50 A.H. (670 A.H.) at an age of 65. She was Jewish.

( 9) Safiyah Bint Huyay: She was a war booty. She was taken a captive after the slaughter in Khybar. In that battle, she lost her father, recently married husband and all other close relatives. This captured Jewish woman was given to a Muslim soldier called Dahia. However, when Mohammad saw her exquisite beauty she immediately bought her from Dahia and proposed to marry her. She was in a state of shock when brought to Mohammad. Safiyah’s cousin sister was also brought along with Safiyah but Mohammad was not interested in her cousin as she was not that pretty. Safiyah had no choice but to marry Mohammad to save her life. She was 17 years old when she married the 60 years old Mohammad. She was with Mohammad for 4 years. She was 21 when the prophet of Islam died. She lived as a widow for the next 39 years. She died in 50 A.H (673 A.D.) at the age of 60.

(10) Umm Habibah Ramla Bint Abu Sufyan Ibn Sakhr: She was sent to Ethiopia during the migration of the first handful of Muslims to Ethiopia. The King of Ethiopia, Negas presented her to Mohammad as a wife. She was married to the prophet in (1 A.H.) proxy by Negas. She was 35 and the prophet was 60 at the time of marriage. She came to live with Mohammad in 7 A.H. (629 A.D.). Her first husband was Ubaydullah Ibn Jahsh. He was the brother of Zainab Bint. Jahsh. Ubaydullah became a Christian while in Ethiopia; so, she had a divorce. Mu’awiya was her brother. She spent 4 years of her life with Mohammad and continued living another 33 years. She died at the age of 72 in 44 A.H.

(11) Mariyah al-Qibtiyaa: She was a Coptic sex slave. The King of Egypt gave her to Mohammad as a slave. Mohammad married her when she was 20 and he was 60. She was extremely beautiful and gave birth to a son whom Mohammad named Ibrahim. Ibrahim died at infancy at an age of 18 months (some sources say 10 months). Mariyah spent 3 years of her life with Mohammad.

(12) Maimunah (or Barra) Bint. Al Harith: Mohammad married her when he was 60 and she was 36 in 629 A.D. (7 A.H). Zainab Bint Khuzaima was her half sister. She was the last woman the prophet married due to the restriction imposed on him by Allah (33:50, 33:52). She lived with Mohammad for just 3 years. After Mohammad died, Maimunah lived for another 40 years. She died at an age of 80 (51 A.H.). She was Mohammad’s last wife to die.



Other women in Mohammad’s life

(13) Rayhana: She was not a real wife. She was a booty from a battle. She was a Jewish girl of extreme beauty; so, Mohammad proposed to marry her. However, she refused to covert to Islam and marries Mohammad. Therefore, she became a sex slave of Mohammad. However, in many places we get that he married her.

(14) Duba Bint Amr: She was among the most beautiful of Arab women. Her hair was very long to cover her entire body (Ibn Saad, al-Tabaqat, p 153). Mohammad was attracted to her and asked her son’s permission to marry her. But the prophet backed out from the marriage proposal when he heard that although very beautiful Duba was ageing.

(19) Asma (of Noman): The prophet discovered that she was suffering from leprosy. He did not consummate the marriage.

(20) Omm Sharik (21) Maymuna (not of Hareth) (22) Zainab (third) (23) Khawla

(24) Amrah Bint Yazeed: She became a Muslim a very short period before her marriage to the prophet. When she arrived at Medina and saw the prophet, she appealed to Allah for refuge from the prophet. The prophet sent her back to her people.

Besides the first 12 wives, Mohammad married many other women but did not consummate the marriage. All together, he had 28 women in his life. He was 62 when he left this mortal world.
