PoliticsRe: Peter Obi, Alex Otti Summon Labour Party NEC Meeting by alizma:
I can bet that is Alex Oti that summons the meeting, Obi has this habit of not taking responsibility as the head.
Issues will be going bad in the party and the supposed leader will be on the fence, hoping the issues will fix themselve by default but very quick to criticise the opposition.
So much in haste at times that he had to apologize for not being patient enough to get full details before talking.

Funny enough many Nigerians are not willing to live in 80 to 90 percent of those countries.

QuinQ:
You missed this part: "“If your mother is going to decide everything for you, then maybe we should call off the wedding.”
That still align with the chronology of the story.
According to the story, the lady initially said that, then when the day draw nearer, she realized the mother of the groom had her mind made up, then she begged and agreed to go with the guy's view. Finally it was said that the bride was left heartbroken.
Going by the order of events, it was more like the guy didn't show up for the wedding contrary to the topic which says "lady call off wedding do to this and that. That's my point, you can read the passage again.

Mynd44:
Isn't he in Labor Party?

Nigerian politicians are weird people
The fact that you are in a particular party should not stop you from saying what is right or wrong, secondly you will observe that the issue on which he praised Tinubu is more of regional matters than political party affairs,he was talking about north and south not APC,PDP or LP. 2027 election will likely be more of regional, all thanks to the North
Foreign AffairsRe: UK Prime Minister To Admit 'Globalization Is Over’ In Response To Trump Tariffs: by alizma: 10:19am On Apr 07, 2025
Judolisco:
Honestly, I don’t understand all the fuss. If one country decides to impose a 100% tariff on goods coming into its territory, and the other country responds by raising its own tariffs, isn’t that just how international trade works? Both sides are simply protecting their interests..... No more father Christmas... If u want US to reduce, make u sef reduce
That is the same thing he is saying, globalisation is the spirit of economic father Christmas once we go 100 percent as you said, then economic globalisation is wiped out, everyone is on his own and US new tarrif is a step towards that direction.

RIP Sir.
Kemi should be careful now o, the ☂️ is no more. One of the reasons some people let her be was that they don't want to hear that the man died of heart attack on hearing that her daughter was arrested and because they also have respect for the man.

PoliticsRe: Fubara Surprised Me Too Early, I Have Never Seen This Before - Wike (Video) by alizma: 7:27am On Apr 07, 2025
I don't know if anyone will still condemn this speech by wike. These are the key points I have raised on several occasions.
1. The governor undermines the efforts of people that worked for his own victory under the leadership of wike.
2. He did that too early and everyone who has the knowledge that wike and his team worked for his victory would condemn the timing of his action.
3. Finally, he succeeded in de marketing himself as a politician. Assuming there is another election today and he has not enough money for campaign like in 2023, I can bet that politicians and parties will be very much reluctant to bring out their resources to support him. Those supporting him now are doing that because they think it's an opportunity to get back at wike, not because they will swallow the pile if the table is turned against them.
Well I believe he can still remedy the situation, he should reflect on his journey and follow his heart. It's never too late to make amend.

EventsRe: 'Go And Avenge Your Death'- Mother Places Knife And Broom In Son’s Coffin (Pics) by alizma: 10:04pm On Apr 04, 2025
GistMedia0:
A deeply emotional and chilling scene played out during a burial ceremony as a grieving mother made a heartbreaking yet unusual plea to her deceased son. In a viral video that has since stirred conversations online, the mother can be seen placing a knife and a broom inside her son's coffin, issuing a tearful instruction for him to avenge his death from beyond the grave. shocked

Surrounded by mourners and sympathizers, the woman—visibly shattered by the loss—stood over the lifeless body of her son, who laid quietly in his casket. With each word, pain echoed in her voice as she called on his spirit to rise and deal with whoever might be responsible for his untimely passing.

According to the report, the mother strongly believes that her son did not die a natural death and suspects foul play. Her symbolic act—placing the knife and broom—has deep traditional roots in certain African cultures, where such items are believed to aid the spirit in carrying out posthumous justice.

Refineries are shutting down due to declining oil demand and high operating costs. The world is moving on to cleaner, alternative energy sources

Stop spreading wrong information, Nigeria is not banning use of solar panels but the country is banning importation of solar panels to give more room to local producers

The same security excuse they gave when they tried to cut of the road that leads to her stronghold to prevent election materials from getting to her people.
Her people joined hands together and fixed the road, election went peacefully and there was no case of security breach.
Why are they scared that the world will see how her People will come out in their numbers to welcome her home, if some people have planned to hijack her return, why not picked those individuals?

All of them lack professionalism, the NDLEA officer will be sacked or demoted if I happen to be his boss, the fact that he is a soldier doesn't mean that you shouldn't do your work, what is expected of you is to respect him as a soldier and that, definitely doesn't include not checking his belongings, same goes to the custom officer, wearing his uniform or not is not your business
