Car Talk › Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Allboiz: 1:24pm On Dec 28, 2025 |
Dasolajay: Good evening amazing people, please I need help with finding out what’s wrong with my car. I drive a Honda accord 2008 v6 car. It started to misbehaving last week, after spending some time in traffic, it went off and when I restarted it, it was moving slow, no matter how hard I stepped on the gas. It took me home that day but slowly.
I then called the mechanic to come service it, we changed the engine oil and filter, changed the fuel pump and cleaned the injector mouth. Thinking that should fix it.
Took it out the following day, after driving from omole to Osborne with my AC on, it started moving slowly again, I turned off the AC immediately, it didn’t go off this time but it took me to VI slowly. When I was going back home later in the afternoon after about 5 hours of packing the car, it acted normal again till I got home, I didn’t use the AC this time.
I then decided to scan it today and these are the error codes it brought out. I decided not to fix it yet because the Rewire told me to bring 45k without telling me the actual thing he wants to fix. Could you kindly tell me what is actually happening to the car? Thank you. Same here Sometimes during acceleration, it loses power and enters limp mode. A little trick once this happens - park and restart the car or put the car on neutral while you restart and then drive to drive. The system resets itself and start accelerating. Mine is showing error code p0121 throttle position sensor/pedal position sensor. I'll check it out tomorrow using a rewire

chillex8: Does your vehicle emit any color of smoke? Have you scanned for codes? What work was done before you noticed this symptom? No smoke at all Yes, it's showing misfire for cylinder 1 and 2 I got it that way as a Nigerian used. The inspector said it's something he could fix when I got it. Unfortunately it's going beyond. |

Greetings all,
My honda accord 09 instant acceleration is weak. I have to press the throttle gradually for like 5 seconds before acceleration picks.
They've checked plugs, ignition coils and injectors and they are okay but cylinder doesn't react as other cylinders when coil is removed. So they mentioned the engine will be opened to know the condition.
Please, in worst case scenario, how much is a tokunbo engine now for i4 accord 09? |

yak: Stanbic is so full of themselves! Customer service is very poor and complaints are hardly attended to United Capital hasn't been too bad but I think thier rates aren't the best United capital is not transparent with their daily interest return. The return usually doesn't align with the rate posted. And their rate is always jumping up and down. However, when it comes to instant withdrawal of funds, they are the best so far. You withdraw and you get your money in 5 - 10 minutes including weekends provided it's under 2 million |

awesomeJ: Guys, please how do you fund your StanbicIBTC dollar fund? It's been a while since I last used them. Last time I did, they had a USD account at Stanbic that I could transfer to, so it was Stanbic to Stanbic transfer with no charges.
If I put in $1000 and it makes just $15 in 3 months, I don't want to end up paying up to $30 dollars as transfer fee for both deposits and withdrawals.
How do you guys do it? Why don't you convert to naira an invest in naira? Naira investment is better than any dollar investment at the moment. However, if you insist, put it at the back of your mind you'll mostly likely run into loss if your dollar Investment is not for a long term (like 10 years). And this will happen due to different charges on dollar transfer. Don't be surprised that you may end up paying up to 100usd for 1000usd transfer. So do your math well. |

yusfatedeeprof: Or you move all your money including gains to stash by month end and then move it back to the mmf as new. You'll loose a day interest doing that and you'll realise it's not worth the stress after calculation. Just stick with stanbic with a monthly reinvestment plan at 19.34% or FBN with a quarterly reinvestment plan at 20.08% |

Preator: Stanbic experience is quite good though their monthly reinvestment may not be as financially ok as some mmf that reinvest quarterly due to difference in rates. FBN typically has a higher rates that yields more returns over time compared to stanbic monthly returns. Depending on how much you put, the difference may be significant.
I also feel that stanbic rates these days are artificially held at 20.01% cos virtually all the other guys(esp the high interest ones) have been declining. You'd be shocked that stanbic monthly reinvestment is higher than others despite their higher interest rates. You know what? Just do a calculation of what the interest accrued per year would be for stanbic and any other funds manager with a higher interest rate. |

Chidimercy: I credited my Stanbic IBTC mutual fund with my personalised Mutual fund account since 8am today, until this moment, it is yet to reflect and is very unusual, please what could be the cause? It's weekend already. You have to wait till Monday (business day) for it to reflect and also, your interest starts counting from Monday. |

Mixology: Thanks so much. I wish I knew about this like 5 years ago. I would have saved up to 60m or more by now. Damn Lol... The rate wasn't as high as this 5 years ago. At a point it went as low as 8% but we hope to enjoy the 20% we have now for a long time. |

0ubenji: those ones have been consistently under 20%. Even when others are giving 21+. A worrying wonder it is. I don't just understand them. It came down to 18% yesterday. Time to run from them |

rmx: I think it’s a good time for naira assets , good time to invest in naira assets , said it before , naira should be stable this year and until maybe next year , if nothing seismic happens , but always better to review things every 6 months in case there is change in the macroeconomical and political landscape Absolutely 💯... And also be prepared to re-evaluate and swerve as the case may be around election period. That is the period naira tends to misbehave. |

oluayebenz: Now that naira debit card is valid for international transaction
Does that mean CBN now have enough dollar?
Will naira continue to gain more value?
What will happen to USD hoarders? This is the best time to convert to naira and enjoy the interest rates on naira investments while it last. When you do a comparison of the investment between the two currencies, you will realise that naira investments give a huge ROI at the end of the day. |

0ubenji: I've not even put anything and they asked for employment letter. They said its the standard. When did you open your account and what was asked from with respect to employment and/or source of funds? I just filled a form and asked normal employment details and that was in 2019. But I started putting money late last year |

0ubenji: I was at 90% onboarding with them and had to stop when they started making weird demands. Why da heck would you need my employment letter. Lol
Are you pretty sure the amount you are getting tallies with their daily rate updates? FBNQUEST asked for your employment letter? If that's the case, it'll be difficult to pull out big fund for withdrawal with them. They'll frustrate you. Although, when I signed up, they didn't ask for my employment letter. The amount tallies for the fund in FBNquest. |
Investment › Re: Mutual Funds by Allboiz: 8:48pm On Jun 25, 2025 |
0ubenji: Thanks, I already got same info from them eventually. I'd rather go with Cowrywise and FBNquest (not sure yet). I'm dealing with Norrenberger too. I need to keep ARM at arms length. FBNquest is accurate and transparent. I've have some funds there. Any idea on how to easily move large funds from one FM to another FM. I want to move from UCap to FBNquest completely. |
Investment › Re: Mutual Funds by Allboiz: 4:45pm On Jun 24, 2025 |
bassdow: All expenses, deductions, and penalties, are always on Accrued Interest That means some FM are more transparent and honest. FBNQuest give me the complete interest after calculation but there's always discrepancy with UCap. Most times, the daily interest calculation is not accurate (always below the posted rate). |
Investment › Re: Mutual Funds by Allboiz: 9:59am On Jun 24, 2025 |
0ubenji: ideally, it's on interest accrued, not capital but you haven't mentioned the FM you're in business with, so the ones who have been using them can confirm for you. Alternatively, you can simply ask the FM themselves. Thanks for your response. The Fund Manager is United Capital. I've noticed the interest accrued daily is not usually proportional to the daily rate. |
