I wud still go for Johan + Per at the back let song sit ahead of them and suport the defense whie Aterta and Ramsey pull strings from the middle. . . give me AA23 Rvp and Park / OX upfront Then we are good to go! |

coogar: why should i compare tomorrow's match(a league match) to a carling cup tie. what i did up was there is the comparison of all carling cup 3rd round matches played at the emirates since arsenal moved there.
for the umpteenth time, i implore all gaynners to compare like for like. the stats is fair enough for me i'd say. . . considering the fact Brom and Nçastle were a premier league side when played, and also looking at the recent development, sheff.Utd may have drew a larger crowd too but i must think its due to their history. . . . |

coogar: hmmm, let's examine your stats:
2011/12 arsenal vs shrewsbury(carling cup 3rd round). . . . .46,539
2009/10 arsenal vs west brom(carling cup 3rd round). . . . . .56,592
2008/9 arsenal vs sheff. utd (carling cup 3rd round). . . . . . 56,632
2007/8 arsenal vs newcastle(carling cup 3rd round). . . . . . 60,004
it's fair to say arsenal fans are not really interested these days. check the attendance again tomorrow if it doesn't go past the 60K mark!!!! The fans will always still be there, even if it was just to boo and chant. . . just like i will always be watching every second of AFC games even if its pre-season. . . . But what i have learnt now is that. . .i shouldn't expect 'so much" and i will play the 'surprise me'game. Long live AFC!!! in Arsene i trust!! Still Gooners 1800 |

Find out more about, Per Mertesacker
Per Mertesacker became Arsène Wenger’s seventh signing of the summer when he joined the Club from Werder Bremen on Wednesday.
Here are ten facts you may not know about Arsenal’s new number 4:
Per was born in Hannover on 29 September, 1984. Known for his great height, he stands at a lofty 6 feet 6 inches. Per made 142 league appearances in his five years at Werder Bremen, scoring 12 goals. He is also an established international for Germany, with 75 caps to his name. He made his debut for the national side under Jurgen Klinsmann against Iran in 2004. Per scored his one and only goal for Germany in a 2-1 Confederations Cup victory over Australia back in 2005. He scored a debut Champions League goal against Chelsea back in 2006. Per's boyhood club is Hannover 96, for whom he made 74 league appearances in three years. Per was dubbed 'the Defence Pole' by the German media upon breaking through into Hannover's first team. He has a clean reputation in Germany, picking up just one yellow and one red card in the last four Bundesliga seasons. Remarkable. . .Buh this is the EPL oooo. . .i see lotta Yellows!!! |

Gunners on verge of signing new striker
Monaco striker Park Chu-young will complete a transfer to Arsenal within the next 24 hours, with Arsène Wenger looking to strengthen our squad as much as possible before the transfer window closes on Wednesday evening. Park, who is the captain of the South Korean national team, was part-way through a medical at Lille on Saturday, but Lille’s Chairman Michel Seydoux confirmed that he left for North London (to have a medical at Arsenal) without their knowledge. The fee is thought to be somewhere in the region of £3-5 million. “We are stunned by this unacceptable behaviour in terms of human qualities. This shows that the player had nothing to do in Lille. We agreed everything, he left his hotel room in the middle of the night and is now on his way to Arsenal. Granted, it’s not exactly Karim Benzema, but I am sure that Arsenal fans will come to love Park over the next season. Apparently he has lightening-quick reactions, pouncing on any lose ball in the box, and can create a goal-scoring opportunity out of almost anything. Park scored 12 goals for Monaco last season, which apparently equated to 33% of Monaco’s goals for the season as they were relegated from Ligue 1. the important question is whether Park is able to bypass his two-year mandatory military service. He is 26, and must apparently serve 2 years in the South Korean army before the age of 30. Park can avoid military service by winning a major trophy with the national team, as he would receive a military waiver for his services to the country. However, I must point out that not only is this slightly controversial (it’s not conscription if some people avoid it), but that the only national tournament he can win is the Olympics next summer. It is thought that he will sign a 4-year contract with Arsenal, but this will be irrelevant if he misses two seasons serving in the army. the bold seem interesting. . .lol i dey laff oo. . .Just 2 yrs to play footie http://straightalkingooners.com/2011/08/29/gunners-on-verge-of-signing-new-striker/ |

dipo+: Ramsey is clearly not yet the material for arsenal's midfield, let be sincere. Even Cleverly who I know very lttle about oozes more class, IMO. Seconded!! He plays as if he's in the La liga!! needs to understand that once you have the ball in your feet. . .it takes you 0.001s to think and not 3s. . . .itd da EPL RAMSEY!!! dipo+: In other news, Young to be on £40k/wk. Na dis kain tin Arsenal dey laik. And he will wear the No. 9 jersey. Seems arsenal rate the Korean national team captain so highly Link? |

For the players that stood out . . . . .
AA23 was pathetic!!! RvP was a shadow but ofcourse he's been starved from the middle. . .
Ramsey for all his 'potentials'need to understand that THIS IS THE EPL!!! the games in the league are played at a VERY HIGH TEMPO!! and he's supposed to the next NEXT BIG THING - a playmaker (Cesc role) at #AFC and its baffles me at the rate at which he keeps turning back and holding the ball with not vision. . .until anderson or Young or Nani takes the ball away from him. . .
szczeny was tite and i couldn't blame that much except for his wall during Rooney's 2nd FK. . .he should understd Rooney's trick by now. . . and arrange his wall well. . .
DJ was jeez!! PHOCK!! im wondering. . .was this the DJ that played alongside KOS last season? from JAN - May last season. . . the first name i always wanted to see on Arsenal list was DJ. . .what has he become of late?
AW - Just ShuT the PHOCK Up plzzzzz!!!!!! |
