You are assuming a lot of things that are yet to happen here. It is not yet 10 years, Arsene might walk before then or he might get sacked before 10 years. There is just so much any individual can take.
I don't think I need to say about the second paragraph, but 2 questions I will ask from the points you raise are.

1. If the board are not sure that AW will win nada even if big players are signed, why not replace him with someone they are sure will and then back such a person?    in addition to that Why the backing from the one man most people continue to ask to be brought back (David Dein)? mind you, if DD would ever come back one of his conditions would be that AW be retained, why the backing from the Oligarch (Usmanov) who wants to take over the club? perhaps these people are knowledgeable of things the average fan isn't or what do you think?

2. If all football fans think the way you think in respect of your son and the ribbing he gets from his friends, clubs like Fulham, Blackburn and Bolton should no longer have supporters or fans.

arsene wenger is a very intelligent man, he is well educated, and know his football. therfore u have to be a daft person to hold brief for him and by extension the club, which is run also by very well trained, intelligent people.   they are quite responsible for their actions and inactions.  they dont require any arm chair pundit to make excuses for them when even they refuse to give any excuses.


if their method and practices of running a football club is what is ok, then everyone else in football requires a brain transplant. Note emphasis is on FOOTBALL, NOT FINANCIAL ORGANISATION.

football negotiations when it involves arsenal are so protracted and difficult even a nobody from jamaica took two months to sign. bottomline is it is impossible that anor signing will be made again this window particularly as the selling club arent willing anymore and know that buyer is desperate.


last minute purchases are never cheaper, so the economics professor logically is not looking to make them.

To be honest, its not like that has never happened before in the past but whether it will happen again or is acceptable if allowed to happen remains to be seen it depends on what the board is willing to do in terms of funds or selling the soul of the club IMO, we have a manager who has won in the past when the playing field was level and who I still believe to be the right manager for the club, I won't panic because there is a possibility of us going trophyless for 10 years.

It might however be wise to start prioritising the cup competitions and it seems there is a tendency to start doing that since the past year.

Let me bring some left field spin into this - I have always worried about the role played by the board in our current situation. It's easy to blame Wenger, but that's what he is paid for - to take ALL the blame for anything wrong at Arsenal. Again, this is no exculpation of Arsene, as he has numerous flaws and has made mistakes.

Unfortunately, YES, a rebuilding is required yet again. I don't expect this rebuilding to take another 3 years though for some reasons.
Firstly, the rate at which our academy and scouting is now producing top quality young players for the first team has improved, we got sizable amounts for the players that have departed and our financial situation is not as precarious as it once was, added to FFP putting some degree of control into spending I think the turnaround time shouldnt be as long.

So far even with the mass exodus of players, I doubt that we have raised 70m yet people are saying to go and spend all the money we raised from selling Cesc. The only requirement I have for Arsene in these trying times is that we make the top 4 while we rebuild yet again and I'm confident he will do it as he has done for the past 14 years, I see nothing yet that tells me things will turn out otherwise.

As far as fans are concerned as long as Arsenal doesn't win any trophy then AW has lost it reh reh reh. But that's just emotions, the picture is a whole lot bigger. Ok this is my nightmare – if Arsenal fail to make the Champions League, lose £25 million revenue and drop into the Europa League, then, to put it bluntly, our chances of staying in the top four are made increasingly worse, as the high quality players who would have come to Arsenal with the lure of Champions League Football will look elsewhere.
So when Ivan Gazidis and Arsene Wenger get on the plane to Italy next Tuesday, they will be sweating slightly and hoping that Udinese are held to a draw. It just goes to show how error prone Wenger has been in this transfer window, because as a result of Koscielny’s back spasm against Liverpool, we are down to ONE fit senior centre-back in the Premier League. If I were the CEO of Arsenal, I would not be sleeping well for the next three nights. Yet, he will be unable to buy a single high class player before the end of Wednesday night as I shall explain.
There were performances to be proud of yesterday at the Emirates, mainly because of the pressure that was being placed upon those young shoulders. Wenger has gambled now once too often. Losing key players like Jack Wilshere to injury could not have been foreseen. However, not having recruited a long awaited centre-back and a Cesc Fabregas replacement could have been. Arsenals refusal to progress has nothing to do with spending cash or returning cash to the board. Its simply that Wenger is too smart for his own good. You see this boy Yaya Toure dominating midfield for Citeh. . .do you know how many consecutive summers this boy and his brother begged Arsene to sign him? I first saw him playing for Panathinaikos and it was evident he was brilliant but no, Mr Wenger was fixated with a certain kind of player - the small tika taka type of player and instead invested in the Denilsons and co. The same could be seen of his treatment of Gilberto Silva, one of the ruggedest "thou shalt not pass" DMs that played in the prem, but no, he was not intricate enough for Arsene.

Once again, its not about cash. Its about Wengers stubborness. How much would the likes of Jose Enrique and Carlos Cuellar cost? Players who would instantly fix Arsenals defensive problems.

Leroy Fer, Nedum Onuoha, Dedryck Boyata, Cuellar, take your pick - they would all improve Wengers defence, but they cannot pass high up the pitch unlike Koscielny and Squillaci.
