On my return back to the west, I went to the common osogbo park where the keke man carried me on Friday. Waiting for the vehicle to get filled, I saw him because he was lured by the lady that followed me on Friday to come and pick another person. I was told he has been a common keke man... The elders in the park pleaded to free him after beating him a little because I wanted to hand him over to the Nigeria army ... He was banned from entering the park henceforth.

He denied at the beginning... But after giving him the episode., he started pleading...

I took keke from the park, but the keke guy took I and the lady with me to another pack. On getting there, I was still confused because I didn't see the name 'peace' there. The guys there cut the ticket and wrote 2550 to Owerri... As I was trying to tell him No... Some guys came trying to harass the lady... Creating fear by trying to hijack her bag... So, she ran and said we should pay for the vehicle... The guy took us to the vehicle in disguise that he was trying to protect us saying onitsha is now bad... We paid and met some people in the vehicle.

To cut the story short... That same keke and another kept bringing people for them and they harass them that way. Once u enter that park... U can't go out... U will pay for the ticket under duress. We left there past 2pm....It was later I discovered the driver and vehicle was hijacked too... He was given 1k and they took the rest. The keke guys were positioned for it. They collected double money from some women, made them cry and they paid again. They vehicle was going to owerri, they took bayelsa and Portharcourt passengers and collected huge money but will not go with them.

One of those criminals said they can't be reported to the police because police is a syndicate too... In fact, I discovered that all the people we met in the vehicle were part of the team of criminals. The name on the ticket is 'All Roads park'.

I have not had this experience before... Lagos is not as worse as this from my experience. There is a big park beside this people, and nobody is rebuking them from this evil. They extort, hijack and make women weep. It is a terrible business...

How many of us have encountered such?

Yes. Check the school website, they usually have an estimated amount for each dependent you will be going with. Except if they are planning to come over later - In that case you don't need to add them on your DS160 as co-travellers and you won't be attending the interview with them.

Thanks... I mean after the dependents 4k and 6k for child and husband has been added and deducted. She still has 1k supplus. Any need for SOA... D I-20 should have excess 11k if no dependent. I think u understand

Thanks all for the response.... I have someone who has assistantship. She is going with her child and husband on F2. With the assistantship, she has no deficit but a surplus of 1k. Is there still a need to hold a SOA for back up to interview?

My youngest brother had this terrible experience with the sterling Bank. I have not had such kind of ineptitude with respect to customer care and services from other banks. I don't know if there are banks like that.
An amount of money was kept with the boy around last year. Not knowing what freezing an account entails, he called their customer care for a freeze of the account : thinking it was a form of security.
When the owner requested for the money, he was told by the local bank that he could not access that account because it has been frozen. He was directed to get an order from the court around March plus other documents. He supplied all within few days.
Since then, he has been posted that they are working on it. He has called their head office several times and no light of solution is showing . I personally took it upon myself to mail them about 5 months ago. He was called by the head office a day after the mail that they would resolve it. He has reached back to the local bank, the man in charge was even irritated by telling him that "he was disturbing, and he would resolve it". But, nothing is done!
This is November... How can this boy retrieve this money...? When the pressure was upon the boy to return the money, I have to support him while he sold his phone as well.
