HOW DO I GET PREGNANT?
Good Question.
it's obvious by now that you can only get pregnant if you are ovulating.
LH surge, EWCM, Pain around ovary etc are all indicators but the ultimate confirmation is TEMPING. I would advise the use of LH strips WHY?? because in all scenarios it worked to my own knowledge that is what was used. To get pregnant the most important thing is to time ovulation but in that process, relax, enjoy yourself, go and see a movie at a cinema, dance to naija jams maybe don jazzy's productions lol or do what gets you excited. it's called stress relief. that way your hormones try to balance up so due process continues! Observe your body that is important.

HOW DO I TIME OVULATION?
will start with women that have irregular periods because that is one of the major palava in conception making it difficult to time conception. From my personal observation iregular periods are caused by hormone imbalance. what could trigger that could be drug side effects, hereditary, poor exercising or stress etc. i also observed that irregular period is you period occurring when it likes. but the special effect i observed is that the egg production cycle is not disrupted by irregular periods. you wont see this online GBAM!
PLS EXPLAIN... YES!
if you are having iregular periods now pls remember that there was a time your period was regular! Maybe every 28, 30 or 32 days. that is what you work with. ignore the confusing flow. Meaning your egg production cycle is every 28, 30 or 32 days regardless of when your period shows up. sometimes people with irregular period have their period coincide with their ovulation. strange abi? BUT VERY CORRECT. This way you can set what i call "Ovulation Trap" for it. once you observe you ovulated, count another 28 days(if your cycle was formerly 28 days when it was regular) and realise you will ovulate again regardless of when your period comes. that way you know when to count your CD1 - CD 28. Please i'm refering to those with irregular periods.

REGULAR PERIODS
If you have regular periods it's easier. it's easier to time ovulation this way.if you know the number of days in your cycle is 28 for example.. Subtract 16 from that number. Eg 28-16 =12. Why am i subtrating 16 days? because that is the maximum number of days for a woman's luteal phase known. meaning you start to time your ovulation trap from day 13 to day 18. why day 13 - 18?? because your timing should not be close to the minimum luteal phase limit. Lets assume you ovulate on day 19 of a 28 day regular cycle. the number of days for your luteal phase is 28 -19 =9. A 9 day luteal phase could be easily considered a luteal phase defect. Pls remember a luteal phase defect is caused by a fewer number of days needed for a fertilized egg to implant in the uterus. so if you know when your period occurs, first of all count out your luteal phase days minimum which should be about 9. meaning you can bed until day 18 or 19. i also learnt that the luteal phase of any woman remains the same throughout all her entire cycles. it could range between 10 - 16.
There are situations where people with regular periods ovulate on CD 7,8,9 10,11 or any other day. so its better to know your OVulation day and set that trap. You dont need a gynecologist to tell you this. all the information is online. Afterall i be engr. na situation carry me come know all this since my wife go prefer to read linda ikeji, dance "collabo" read oda blogs or watch TV than to sidon read all this.

Seems you generalized all cases of ttc into opk knowledge. Pls enlighten me.

I really base my posts on OPK's. Why? Because it's so easy to know you are ovulating using OPK's. A lot of women dont get signs at all.. A lot do. Best thing is to observe your body patterns for changes. I dont know much about blocked fallopian tubes. If anyone is diagnosed with that (blocked tube) in this Naija... abeg research for the best place because Nigerian doctors have destroyed wombs and killed babies because of wrong diagnosis. If one tube is blocked then one should be open. If not then you have to research more. I so much hate the medical system with passion because of experiences i've had that is why I spend my time searching the internet packing info, comparing and analysing it. I've read about blocked tubes.. also know it's risky operating.. easier to do insemination or IVF with blocked tubes to get pregnant though expensive. The so called "sabi mamas" here should know more but pls whatever u are told here spend time to research on it. Knowledge is POWER! My knowledge there is limited.

Hello my dear readers, i'm back. Had a lotta backlog of work so no time today. I'm starting from this point because I know a lot of peeps are ignorant about the very basic things.
LESSON 1.
I'll be explaining some words to get used to here while reading my posts.
1. Ovulation - This is the only period a woman can take in. During ovulation a woman drops an egg. If the sperm is in place it will meet the egg. If not it gets washed away as "period". Pls Note that egg lives for about 12 - 24 hours so the major target here is to have the sperms in place before the egg drops from that ovary.
2. LH - it's a hormone a woman releases about 24 - 48 hours before she Ovulates (Drops an egg)
3. LP - Luteal Phase.. this is the period immediately after ovulation to the day the "period" arrives. It lasts between 10 - 16 days in most cases i've read. So if you dont see your period 17 days after you are sure you ovulated then there is high possibility you are pregnant. Pls NOTE: some women release LH twice a month.. Why?? Because the body geared up to release an egg at first didnt succeed... tries again and succeeds! So an LH surge does not mean you ovulated. Vice Versa, I've read from several medical experts that it's impossible to ovulate without an LH surge.. But with God all things are Possible!
4. LPD - Luteal Phase defect is one of the reasons why women dont conceive. YES! If your luteal phase is less than 10 days then it will be difficult for the egg to implant causing AF to spoil all the work done. This does not apply to women with irregular periods.
5. FP - Follicular Phase is the time from which your period stops to the day of ovulation.
6. EWCM.. Egg white cervical Mucus.. Most women check for this to know they are ovulating. In several cases EWCM does not mean you are ovulating. The body might gear up and not drop an egg. This is called an anovulatory cycle.
7. Irregular Periods.. this occurs when your "period" happens when it wants. It is one of the major causes of infertility. It makes it difficult to time bedding.
8. Temping : this is done by checking your temperature every morning when you wake up by inserting a thermometer under your tongue or inside your vagina. Chart the temperature using an internet application. The essence of this is to know if you are ovulating. It is the BEST way to know you are ovulating because pregnancy is mainly about ovulation. If an egg gets out of that gate then there is every chance to get pregnant. Body temperature spikes after ovulation and drops before your period. By temping you know if your menses is coming or you are pregnant. If you are pregnant your body temperature stays higher during your luteal phase and after but if you are not it drops a few days before your menses arrives.
9. OPK - these are little sticks used to test for LH. Once LH is observed it's good to bed 2 or 3 nights only after it to increase your chances of getting pregnant. Problem is OPK's in Naija are expensive. Imagine buying the 5 sticks pack for about 2,000 naira or more Bad enough those OPK's cannot detect LH. I kept buying the one sold in stores without a positive. It's better to buy wondfos online or Clearblue (better) because they are more SENSITIVE and accurate in detecting LH. Wondfos are cheaper... Clearblue is expensive but it's so awesome!pls while testing focus on the stick not always the smiley. I will post pictures as I go on. Pls note OPK's test positive when pregnant. And it's always as deep as ever compared to ovulation. Though it gets deeper gradually over time.
10. FMU - First morning urine.. used to check for LH once you wake up. You can also test later in the day but you have to hold that urine for about 4 hours tops so that stick can detect it. The higher the concentration the better your results. Sleep don dey catch me.. to be continued 2mao. Shalom.

I came to this thread with a single purpose which is to help people take in Naturally. Naturally in my context means "No taking Drugs". A lot of people believe in "God's Time". Dear reader, "God's Time" is your time. Dont always expect a miracle, put your heart and mind into it and you will get results. I put so much of my heart into the info I poured on this thread because I know how it feels TTC only to see AF every month only for some people to say "a lot of people should be careful about help they receive here" and the posts were getting plenty "likes". The thing vex me I commot. That's the naija mentality I dont blame them. Imagine how I felt when I read all that crap Today my mind was pushing me to get back here only to find out i have some awesome quiet readers who appreciate my work. A lot of people prefer to pay thousands of naira for what i'm giving by pouring out my heart here. So let me set the records straight.
PLS NOTE.
1. I dont need money. If thread had faces u would know I dont.
2. I know the massive research i did every single day for a year because of my finese skills and I know a lot of people will take years to know this simple info so i'm making it easier for my readers.
3. You are not the first. 4 people have taken in using this method all above 30 within 3 months.. One was 40+.

I have no info on keeping pregnancy but I can help those who are willing to take in this way. Those who get a BFP because of me should post a thank you message HERE so others will know that it works. Cheap OPK vs ClearBlue OPK stick.
I'm doing this so someone out there can get a BFP and thank me.. why?? because I know the stress involved if u really need a BFP but cant get one.
Cheap OPKs
1. They are reliable but they give mixed signals. Yeah! I kept getting mixed signals all the time when I requested for pictures from my wife during Mid day and the later hours while we were both at work.
2. Cheap OPK manufacturers ask for urine test in the later hours of the day. Lets assume you urinate by 9am and go to test by 11am.. you expect enough LH in your urine to get a positive? In most cases the test line will be faint instead of being deeper.
3. Cheap OPK tests positive with 2 very dark lines everyday when one is pregnant. This will help you know you were pregnant even before a miscarriage might happen. YES.
Best time to test Cheap OPK for BFP is approx 8DPO.. picks up HCG faster than HPT stick. But might vary from person to person.

CLEARBLUE"Dual Hormone"
1. No mixed signal... it gives a clear reading. Cheap OPK might show a light test line but clearblue will show a deep test line on the same day. So you wont have no doubts whatsoever. I used cheap OPK to frustration for several months in combination with "Fertile Focus". Fertile focus is used to check for ovulation through saliva.
2. ClearBlue is the best by far OPK anywhere. And the manufacturers ask for FMU for testing... Question is why?? yes because it's checking for LH concentration in urine. The longest sleep or rest = Highest concentration and is best for testing!!!!. So if you can hold urine for 4-5 hours during the day.. that might be good enough too.
3. Clearblue also picks up HCG too showing very dark lines too when preggo.

In summary clearblue picks up even the smallest amounts of LH compared to cheap OPK. After using eject stick and look at both Lines. Here are pictures for OV day for both clearblue and cheap OPK.
Clearblue showed visibly while cheap OPK was showing a true Negative. Making you miss your best time to bd. I know it's a bit expensive but it's impeccable. I'm grateful to the makers. Pls ignore the reading on the holder if you are already using it. Look at the stick so you dont miss it!!! Kudos!

I tried charting body temperature one time, but wasn't consistent because I toss around alot while sleeping and just before my alarm rings and like it is said.....you must not move before you take your temp...so that was really discouraging .

Well... charting aint that hard. I did 5 cycles for my wife TTC. Always took her temp every morning b4 leaving to work because i was so convinced nothing was wrong with her, not interested in doing tests or making her taie any drug. I was so willing to prove that natural conception is possible. That was my motivation. I did it so you can. It takes about 30 seconds to Temp.. so imagine what u'd do the whole day if u wasted 30 seconds away the more u do it the better u get. I'm a pro "Temper" Nowadays..Lol

That can be done using "MallforAfrica". It has a mobile application for blackberry and android. Do it with someone who does plenty online shopping it will be easier. I didnt buy it.. I asked a friend who loves to shop online to buy it for me. He did it using "MallforAfrica". Ask someone around.

I'm here to continue from where I stopped yesterday. If you are finding issues TTC.. the first thing you should do is find out if you are ovulating.. i've heard a lot of women have some annovulatory cycles (where an egg is not produced) so it is very important to know if you are ovulating. So today I will explain TEMPING..

Temping is done by checking your temperature every morning throughout your cycle. This will help you discover if you are ovulating and also if AF (period) is coming.
HOW IS TEMPING DONE?
1. Register on www.fertilityfriend.com. It's free. There are thousands and thousands of women there doing what u are about to do. 2. Buy a BBT. Basal Body Thermometer. It's not expensive. Can be bought for about N2,500 or above.
3. Set Your alarm to wake you up. Let temping be the first thing you do b4 u get out of bed. Stick the thermometer in your mouth for about a minute and take the reading.. even better stick it into your vagina which may sound gross and take the reading.
4. After u drop an egg.. (Ovulation) your body temperature usually spikes up. If you are pregnant it... it will continue to stay higher for the first trimester or so... if you are not pregnant the temperature will come down after a few days
5. That temp spike confirms you ovulated. The temp drop confirms you will be seeing AF.
6. It is almost impossible to time intercourse temping because the temp spike occurs after ovulation.
7. Egg lasts between 12 - 24 hours..

If you are TTC it is good to know where to start...
Find out if you are OVULATING.
A typical temp chart on fertility friend is paster below.. the first shows the person "took in" second shows the person saw her "period".
The rise after the mid line shows the temp spike after ovulation.
DPO means Days Post ovulation.. or Days after ovulation.
The more you do this... the better you become charting.
It's better to know you are OVULATING first before you start taking medication.

It's sold on amazon. If I was you, i'd buy the "clearblue monitor sticks" it's 37 dollars for 30 sticks. If you are richer you can go for the clear blue dual hormone sticks which comes with the holder and 20 sticks per pack. It is best to time sex for ovulation only if you are TTC since its the only time a woman can get pregnant.

For those still TTC.. there are certain things u should all know...

1. It is possible to ovulate during your period. YES!! They say it is impossible... but I read a story of a lady going for a scan only to find out she dropped an egg.. my wife ovulated one day after her period stopped and then BFP.

2. Personal observation after studying my wife is... if you have irregular periods now... remember there was a time you had regular periods. calculate the number of days then... Eg.. maybe it was 28 or 31 before.. work with the 28 or 31 days... Eg.. if you tested positive for ovulation and you had a constant 31 day cycle before... wait for about 28 days to start testing again. ignore the irregular thing.. because irregular periods sometimes coincide with ovulation. So dont use day 1 to be the day your period starts.
3. Allow your hubby days to increase sperm count. Tell him about the importance.
4. Most importantly.. let sex be the last thing u do b4 sleeping so u can allow those guys swim well with gravity towards the uterus.

The most important thing is knowing when u ovulate... and also knowing if it is the same from month to month. I suggest u buy the wondfos 50 test sticks on Amazon together with the Clear Blue "Dual Hormone"... start using the cheap wondfos.. once u observe the second line start to get deeper u use the Clearblue.. and bed 2 nights after the lower line gets deeper than the upper line.. thats all. Remember to test only with FMU. First morning urine.

My friend's wife took in at 41 using clearblue dual hormone sticks. They just had sex as I told him 2 nights after positive test after trying for many years. It works. Pls dont doubt. I did not say cheaper sticks are not good.. they are more difficult to read. Read reviews for Clearblue Online and if you are using it already... ignore what the device is reading and focus on the stick. If lower line is deeper then u have the GO GO!! it is 99 percent correct as they say. I'm only giving back what I got reading all these forums. If you are using cheap sticks then dont throw them away because a lot of women have short LH surges... Look at the pix below, observe and do same! Baby dust!

I used all in combination with wondfos... and as I read from that thread.. I stayed 2 weeks no sex.. Positive stick... Bang Bang! then BFP.. I was amazed. Then I helped others. I registered to post because during my google research I was referred here. I read some stories and realised a lot of us need information. Funny enough my wife had a positive OPK a day after her period that month and 22 days after her period the previous month...!!!!! she took in a day after her period.. which you will read is impossible because of the follicular Phase BS story.

1.Do you know the day u ovulate every month? If NO please buy an OPK. I recommend Clear Blue digital. Attached is a picture for a positive stick. I did all the labelling myself.
2. Have u ever charted your temperature?
I'd suggest you Join fertilityfriend.com to chart your temperature. It simply involves checking your temperature every morning at the same time everyday. Set your alarm for 6am every morning. This will help you know if you dropped an egg.
3. Nothing is impossible and dont let your spirit be dampened. I advise u try natural ways of conception b4 taking any drugs being offered here and there because a lot have side effects on the mother and child. It works perfectly!!!!!

Let me add this... if you are having sex with DH and u know when you ovulate.....
Give him at least 5 days to generate quality sperm..
2. Let sex be the last thing you do b4 u sleep
3. If he is coming do the doggy... but bend a bit so u give those little swimmers gravity towards the entry point.
4. Put a pillow under your vagina to lift your butt up so they stay there and find their way.
5. If he comes twice BETTER!
6. Sleep.

Conception is about somethings I will explain now

1. Study your Cycle or observe your body. In my case I was doing all the studying, observation and research because my wife was tired of everything.
2. Time Having sex with your partner. This is very important because some men have low sperm count. Allowing your man to stay up to a week or 2weeks b4 having sex will boost sperm count and enhance conception.
3. Best time to have sex. Best time to have have sex every cycle is to have sex the 2 nights after a positive ovulation test.
4. Position of a woman when the man "comes" inside her is very important. If he comes twice.. better!!!

I have a friend where I work. He was diagnosed of low sperm count. He gave up.. I told him about this.. he did what I said and cannot stop thanking me. Funny enough you a lot of nigerian doctors have destroyed wombs and reproductive organs trying to help people who they dont care about. A lot of doctors in Nigeria here lack knowledge. Please be careful out there. It is better to try naturally before taking medication and all. Baby dust to all.

It is simple. I've read stories in so many foreign TTC threads. Babycenter, Mumset, Fertilityfriend and so on.. i've realised that most people just lack knowledge and easily get into trouble because of tension as time passes TTC. One of the main causes of infertility is irregular periods. Making it hard to time conception. I used cheap OPK's for a long time checking my wife's FMU (First Morning Urine) for positive OPK's but kept getting mixed signals. Imagine doing that for a year... I researched more and then stumbled on Clearblue "Dual Hormone" digital tests on the internet. This is the best device u can use for natural conception. Clearblue has different brands.. The Monitor and the normal sticks. I'm not advertising them but if u research the internet u will see what i'm saying. It is awesome!!!. conception is all about perfect timing. I read about a lot of people TTC for as much as 2-4 years without success hitting pole position within 1-2 or 3 months. I also learnt that OPK's can be used as HPT's!!!. YES!! because HCG and LH have similar structures. For those using cheap OPK's i'll advise you buy Wondfos Online... 50 sticks or so go for 5,000 naira. Clear Blue dual hormone 20 sticks go for 8K or so... The aim here is to time your surge perfectly for conception. a lot of people with cysts and lots of medical conditions have conceived. And it is not advised to be on fertility enhancement drugs like clomid and co during the natural conception process. Maybe i'm not too good at explaining but I know a lot of people will get help because I never gave up on my wife for one day and I knew knowledge was all needed. Pls purchase Wondfos or Clearblue dual hormone indicator. Then I can jump in to show you how I did it and helped two of my friends and they have helped others.
