BACK TOGETHER


After a few days, I knew I could trust Eve. We became closer than before and she took me like her sister.

After sometime, I figured out it was time for her to meet Donald.

When I told her about it, she gave me a very suprised look, but didn't say a word.

We fixed the meeting for next week.

Today, Eve wanted us to do some catching up. She told me about all that happened. She said she did all she did thanks to jealousy.

"I was angry, my sister died, and I lost it, I just got so angry at you, so I wanted to do everything I could to get back at you., it wasn't really your fault that she died but at that moment you had all going well for you, so I figured if I could get ugonna away from you, at least that would be enough consolation." she said

"But these past months made me have a rethink, you were always good to me and you never hurt me, I'm so sorry A, I am, and I promise not to hurt you." she concluded.

"Well, there's no problem at all, I trust you and I love you know, I take back all I said to you the day I saw you and ugonna, I said all those stuff out of anger, it's all good now."

"So who's this new guy?" she asked with a huge grin.

"Uhmmmmm he's Donald, he is a surveyor, he's really cool." I said. Grabbing my phone, I showed her pictures of him and she confirmed he was really cute.

She also showed me pictures of the new guy she was dating.

And in that moment, a new bond was formed

Back home

I came back home from school to meet no one at home.
I dialled my mum's line and she told me she travelled for business. So I was alone at home

Things had changed a little in school, I got closer to a certain coursemate and had another beefing.

Two days later, my mum came home and guess who she came back with. Eve.

I said hi to both of them with my mum asking how life at school was like, I gave her a heads up and headed straight to my room. I didn't want more problems with Eve.

Few minutes later, my phone rang, it was Donald just checking up on me. Wasn't he so sweet.

Just as 0i cut the call, I heard my door open, it was Eve with an unsure smile on her face.

"Hi", she said nervously

"Hi, what do you want?" I asked not sure of why she was here in my room.

"Uhmmmm, I just came to let you know how sorry I am for betraying your trust, am really sorry A." she said trying so hard not to look me in the eye.

I didn't know when I started laughing. Don't get me wrong, she sounded sincere but I just didn't know why it all sounded funny. Ok now I get it am laughing because I've heard this apology before from the same person who I trusted with my life and who still broke my trust.

"You know what, leave my room, am not gon sit her and watch you do this shii again, I won't fall for your lies this time, not again. The first time was a mistake, not falling again." I said.

She just turned around to leave, and just as she got to the door, I called her back, "and FYI, you can have both ugonna and Nnamdi for all I care, I have a better person in my life now. " I said before she left


The next morning I woke up with a scream, I'd been dreaming. I dreamt of Eve and I. We both went out in the middle of the night or so, when some guys started chasing us, they caught us and tried to have their way with me but none of them was touching Eve. I was told to lie down and when I did, I saw an evil smile on eves face. That was when I knew the plan, she brought me out by that time to get me raped

I went downstairs to get something to after saying my prayers, I met Eve in the kitchen making breakfast.

"Planning on serving poison now ain't yo?" I asked

Her first reaction was to drop the egg out of shock. That move suprised me, the Eve I knew was never in shock.

"I'm just making breakfast for you and mum, not poison." she said after a while.

"Well am not eating anything you cook without you tasting it. I've got a lot to achieve and I can't die now and even if I was to die,it wouldn't be from poisoned food." I said and walked out without her saying a word.


Well I don't think she poisoned the food, I mean it's three hours after I ate eve"s breakfast and am still alive. That's probably a good sign.

By 12 noon, my door opened again with eve coming in.

"Good afternoon, I was thinking if we could go shopping." she said.

I looked up and said yes.

Some minutes later, we were out of the house.


We came back later with goodies and by goodies I meant new clothes for second semester. I was so happy I actually forgot I went out with eve.

"Thank you, alma. I really appreciate." she said

I was suprised, I mean, she actually took me out to get clothes and shoes and she didn't get many things for herself. This was definitely a new Eve.

I didn't say a word, just stepped up to her and I could see the uncertainty in her eyes, I hugged her. Really tight. When I broke the hug, I could see her eyes pretty watered. I gave her a huge smile, said thank you and went upstairs to my room
