Politics / We’re Solidly Behind You, Emir Of Daura Tells Osinbajo by Almoner1: 12:10pm On Aug 11, 2018
Umar Farouk, emir of Daura, hometown of President Muhammadu Buhari in Katsina state, has expressed appreciation to Acting President Yemi Osinbajo for supporting “our son”.

Faruk made the remark when Osinbajo paid him a courtesy visit in his Palace on Thursday.

The statement was made available in Abuja on Friday.

The emir reportedly described Osinbajo as “a typical example of loyalty and trustworthiness in politics”, saying the emirate is behind him.

“I can assure you that all of us here, myself and my subjects, are fully and solidly behind you and in support of you.

“We are happy with you and we are particularly proud of the way you have supported our son, Buhari, in leading our country Nigeria to prosperity.

“That explains why, when you talk about loyalty and trustworthiness among the political class, you stand as an example worthy of note.

“I wish that you carry on with this level of trustworthiness and continue to uphold the confidence that our son has in you.

“I can assure you that our son has enormous trust in you, I want you to continue to justify that confidence he reposed in you.”

The emir said the nation had never had such a government where the president and his deputy operated under such high level of mutual respect and understanding.

He said from the outset, the government had demonstrated integrity, adding that Buhari and Osinbajo were men of honour

It is unfortunate that some sponsored elements would not think well before making comments. For God sake, this Pako that has now become point of reference by some evil incarnate here is there for public use and not just for the Vice President. It was there before the VP came and he decided to use it since is the only connectivity to the other side. Well, the VP we know has been a man of humility who never discriminate.

Our team visited the JAMB Registra Prof Ishaq Oloyede in his JAMB Headquarters office in Bwari,Abuja on fact finding mission over the controversial Police Recruitment Examinations exercise set by JAMB.

Prof Ishaq who warmly welcome our team led By Prof Adisa, Professor of Surgery and Surgical Oncologist, Abia State University Teaching Hospital, Engr Daniel Kadzai, National President, Youth Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria and two others.

In his response Prof Ishaq expressed serious concern over misrepresentation of the whole scenario causing a lot unnecessary tension.

Prof was visibly disturbed, lamented how some mischievous elements are hyping the falsehood explain that no candidate was instructed answer Arabic studies, it was not included in the Exam but was used as dummy.

According to the Prof, the Exam Questions was set incidentally by Christians staff and supervised by a Director who's a Deacon in one of the largest Pentecostal Church. The director who was among the six JAMB staff in the meeting affirmed that Arabic came in due to the alphabetical order picking other subjects used as dummy.

The Young Man In-Charge of the ICT who designed the software is also a Christian. Records shows JAMB has 156 Centre across Nigeria and of the 156 JAMB supervisors 119 are Christians.

*So what are we talking about when our fellow Christians are principal actors !*

Politics / Declaration Of June 12 As Democracy Day, A Bold Step By Pmb Towards Righting The by Almoner1: 2:17pm On Jun 07, 2018
President Muhammadu Buhari has yet again made another history that would definitely remain on the sands of time by declaring June 12 as the real Democracy Day.
History was made in 1993 when Nigerians after a long agitations and advocations for Civilian Government came out enmassed on the 12th of June to cast their ballots for the candidates of their choices. While doing that, little did Nigerians knew their hope would be dashed as it turned out to be.
The 1993 election that was described as the most freest and fairest in the history of Nigeria had two contestants: Moshood Kashimawo Olawole Abiola (MKO) of SDP and Alhaji Bashiru Tofa of NRC.
MKO as he was popularly called was a known philanthropist whose welfarism cut across the entire facets of Nigeria Society. His positive hands of fellowship towards Nigeria Supper Eagles were legendary.
Expectedly, Nigerians reciprocated Abiola's gesture by voting for him and was adjudged as the winner of the June 12, 1993 Presidential election, before the unthinkable happened.
He was denied his mandate by the then military ruler, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida who called for another election after annulling the one that produced Abiola.
The annulment was strongly opposed to by Nigerians especially the human right activists like Late Chief Gani Fawemi, Barrister Femi Falana, Barrister Mike Igini, Mr. Odumakin, Mrs. Odumakin, Festus Keyamo and many Nigerian Journalists like Adebayo Aboderin and so on.
Let me not bother you with many stories about his arrest and death, what is most important to so many Nigerians is the fact that he laid his life for the present political dispensation. In fact, his death was sinequanon to the present Civilian Government.
Furthermore, since the returned of civil rule in 1999, believers of Nigeria Democracy have continually clamoured and advocated that June 12 be declared as the real Democracy day, a call that had always fell to deaf ears of the past Presidents.
Despite the above position by the past Presidents not to recognize and honour this Hero of Democracy (MKO) for egocentric reasons, so many Nigerians refused to let it go. In the Western part of the country June 12 had always been declared and celebrated as public holiday and Democracy Day to honour the late icon.
Finally, it is my pleasure to appreciate and thank the present government ably led by President Muhammadu Buhari and Professor Yemi Osinbajo for listening to the voices of the well meaning Nigerians, this indeed shows that Baba is now a born again Democrat.
God bless Federal Republic of Nigeria.

I extend my sincere condolences to the Govt and people of Benue State, the Mbalom community, and especially the Bishop, priests & members of the St Ignatius' Catholic Church, whose premises was the unfortunate venue of the heinous killings of worshippers and two priests by gunmen. This latest assault on innocent persons is particularly despicable. Violating a place of worship, killing priests and worshippers is not only vile, evil and satanic, it is clearly calculated to stoke up religious conflict and plunge our communities into endless bloodletting. I want to assure the people of Benue, and all Nigerians, that we will ensure that the assailants are apprehended and brought to justice for this vile and sacrilegious act.
