It is important to marry partners who are at the same stage of need fulfillment. If you are struggling with basic, lower-level needs, marry someone at that level. If you have progressed to higher levels—such as financial stability and safety—marry someone who shares those conditions and seeks love and belonging. Only women truly benefit from marrying “up.” If you are financially successful and you marry “down,” some women may see you as their source of food, shelter, safety, love, esteem, and self-actualization. I had assumed I was alone in believing that Nigerian politicians are responsible for the ongoing violence in the country. They employed a similar tactic to remove Jonathan from power and are now seemingly using it against Tinubu. As long as Nigerians continue to vote out incumbent governments due to insurgencies and replace them with new politicians, the politically motivated killings will persist. If, however, the electorate refuses to allow insurgencies to sway their voting decisions, politicians will eventually tire of sponsoring these acts of violence, as their strategies will no longer yield the desired results. Presently, Nigerian politicians exploit the lives of their citizens as pawns in their political games, while the masses fall prey to their manipulative tactics.
