Before we waste our time enlightening people who are programmed to support an incompetent government and shout Sai Baba online, you may want to go and study other heavily oil dependent economies like Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Norway, Russia, Angola and even Iraq. Then tell me which one of them had inflation as much as Nigeria did between May 2015 and March 2018.

Please tell us which of those oil dependent countries had their currency fall by about 100% like the naira did between May 2015 and today.

The only oil dependent economy that suffered a similar fate to Nigeria is Venezuela, and that was purely as a result of government policy!

The earlier you start opening your eyes to facts and proper information rather than listening to APC propaganda, the better for you!

You've been listening to APC propaganda since 2015, and it hasn't benefitted you, yet you still keep hailing them.
Has $1 become = N1?
have you seen the 3millions jobs to be created per year?

have you seen the 4million new homes to be built within the first tenure?

have you seen the N5000 stipend per month to be paid to all unemployed youths?

have you seen Boko haram defeated within 3months of Buhari's assumption of office?

have you not seen price of petrol go up from N87 per litre under Jonathan to official price of N145 under Buhari even with the supposed Lower oil prices?

How come now that oil prices are lower is when petrol prices are higher under Buhari?

Have you seen any new infrastructural projects that this administration has executed which was not initiated by the past administration?

How exactly has life gotten better for the average man in Nigeria than it was under Jonathan's administration?

If you decide to examine your conscience and tell yourself the truth, you will actually go on your knees and ask God for forgiveness for being part of those who invited this evil called Buhari on Nigerians.
this funny. Okay let's start.

love your response, it's amazing. But i do not agree with your points.
Firstly, a decline in foreign reserves from 63 to 30billion is untenable when fuel was selling for over $100/barrel. What happened to all the money? States owing salaries during his tenure had no logical basis. What effort did he make? Atleast buhari has given bail out funds to the states. On the infastructures, watch as the APC start and hurry to finish projects before 2019.

When Obasanjo took over in 1999, oil price was low. it was so low to the point where it even dropped to $11 per barrel at a time. Throughout all of Obasanjo's 8 years in government, not once did oil hit above $80 per barrel. in fact, most of the time, they were using $30 something to $40 something per barrel as oil price benchmark for the budgets, yet we were not hearing Obasanjo whine and complain that he couldn't accomplish much because of LOW OIL PRICES.

IN THE MIDST OF THE SUPPOSED LOW OIL PRICES THROUGHOUT OBASANJO'S TENURE, HE EXECUTED A LOT OF PROJECTS WE COULD SEE EVEN WITH CORRUPTION STILL GOING ON. IN THE MIDST OF THE LOW OIL PRICES UNDER OBASANJO, HE CLEARED OFF NIGERIA'S FOREIGN DEBT THAT WAS OVER $30 BILLION!

OBASANJO ACCOMPLISHED ALL THESE WITH LOWER OIL PRICES THAN TODAY AND CORRUPTION STILL HAPPENING IN NIGERIA, SO PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHY WE HAVE THIS LEVEL OF INFLATION AND DECADENCE IN OUR ECONOMY WITH BUHARI SUPPOSEDLY "FIGHTING CORRUPTION"?

ONLY PEOPLE WHO REASON WILL KNOW ALL OF THESE FACTS AND STILL BE SHOUTING SAI Baba upandan!
LOL your selective amnesia is really funny. Now take those same Obasanjo facts and compare with that of your hero's. How much was the foreign reserve before oga clueless took power? Over $60billion. How much did he leave? Far less than $20billion. How much was the dept? At an all time low OBJ AND YAR ADUA had almost cleared it! How much was it when the ineffectual buffoon left? As high or even higher than before with almost every State owing more than 6months salary, some as high as 18months. How much was oil prices during the period of The IB's rule? An average of $100/barrel! What happened to all the funds? Under whom did naira begin to crash? Jonathan. Who paid the salaries owed by the Jonathan administration?. What is the foreign reserve now? Over $25billion. Who built it up?. Oga let's compare and contrast.

You are complicating your analysis.
You said inflation rate of 12-14% would produce commodity price double in 7-8 years but look at it is quadrupled in 2years. How do you explain that figure Mr. Mathematics?

Learn to respect common truth so you don't lose your sanity. Just advise

i think you need that advise more. Read below
michoim:
Omokri the liar, a bag rice was N12000 (50kg); and exchange rate N225 to a dollar when Jonathan left. And within the last 7 months of Jonathan, exchange rate was persistently falling from N150 to N225 which continued when PMB took over owing to fall in oil revenue for which the whole nation was 90% dependent . That is why PMB started economic diversification with agriculture being at the forefront, since it is the most easily affordable . Tell people the truth...

It is annoying when supposedly educated men talk like vulcanisers. Is reno saying he did not offer or pass economics 101 in school?

Is renowned omokri saying he has not heard of such terms like inflation rate, revenue profile, population rate, exchange rate, etc?

What was the revenue profile of Nigeria during president Jonathan's time and what is the revenue profile now? How did the CBN keep the naira down during Jonathan's period? It is by auctioning dollars twice every week. Now where is the Buhari administration going to get the dollars to keep the naira low now? Reno and his supporters can help by exporting something and earning dollars. It will help in meeting some dollar demand by dollar hungry Nigerians.

Nigeria has an average inflation rate of 12% - 14%, if Reno does not understand what this means, I will explain. It means prices of goods and services are expecting to increase an average of 12 - 15% every year. This means prices of all goods including rice is expected to double every 7 to 8 years.

If we were to follow Reno 's logic, then Abacha was a superstar compared to Jonathan. During Abacha's period petrol was N11 per litre, dollar was about N30 per dollar and rice was less than N500 per bag.

I am not saying Buhari is performing well, but Reno and his party should learn to criticise intellectually instead of talking like garage touts.
talking like garage touts: this is the reason I still won't take Reno and PDP seriously, instead of making intellectual and constructive criticism they will be acting like illiterates, stocking the fires of division. Both APC and PDP are filled with corrupt politicians but the APC has shown it has the interest of Nigeria in mind while PDP doesn't give a dot.

They mocked South East for low IGR because of their high tax rates and multiple taxations their greedy Governors impose on companies, shop owners etc. After all Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, Abia States etc with lower IGR than Lagos still contribute to national account than Lagos.

But I think Mahrez and Sallah can play as playmakers smithing like De Bruyne or Mata. Bless! you finally get my point, I can't think of any player from Africa plus I read that it had something to do with lack of concentration.
and lack of high intelligence, good technique, ability to read the game and discipline. All these are found in practically all good creative midfielders
Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs Serbia: International Friendly 0 - 2 (Full Time) by AlPeter: 1:11pm On Mar 28, 2018
Attacking players or wingers are not creative players. They depend on others to perform. Sallah, mahrez and Mane can't set the pace of a game. When we talk of creative players we refer to players in the mood of Xavi, Iniesta, Scholes, Kroos, Pogba, Mata, De Bruyne, Silva, Fabregas, Willian, Wilshere etc

Nigeria's problems were not necessary players but our play has regressed quite spectacularly. We don't have a midfield that can create good play or hold its own.

Nigeria needs 5 players who are play makers not just rely on Moses. The team that played against Argentina in the second half would be my choice. I would rather have Henry. Onyekuru sitting in midfield as an attacking midfielder. Maybe maybe he would be that surprise we need.

Anyway right now we will not leave that group and our group is.not hard to qualify from. We made Poland and Serbia look like Spain and germany. Not good we can donbetter

Rorh needs to up his game
your post contradict itself, Nigeria problem is not players but we need 5 creative players'?. Which play did Nigeria have before Rohr that has retrogress? Oga na wa for you ooo.

Politics / Electoral Bill Amendment: Is It Legally Right? by AlPeter: 1:35pm On Mar 27, 2018
Nairaland is no longer what it used to be, imagine not a single sensible thread on an act of the senate that has the potential to completely erode what is left of our feeble democracy. Nobody even bothered to discuss the legality of this move. Is it right or not? is INEC under the control of the NA or senate? Should the NA or SENATE be the ones to dictate how and in what sequence election should be held? If this is allowed to stand where and to what extend should they be allowed to interfere? These and many more are questions that needs answering not what we are witnessing. I would love professional views on this.

Exactly the point....the girls said they crossed river/water....Which still lends credence to the write up....carried in airplane.... Just read it again with unbiased mind.
it doesn't buttress any of your points, it negates them. In one of your points, you asked if they were taken to Niger, this became irrelevant in the light of the girl's statement. You also asked where the BH got clearance from, air lifted and assumed, errorneously, that the NA didn't know the BH were returning the girls even when the NA had come to say they were. Seems you are one of those questioning why the NA didn't attack BH so that a few of the girls would be caught in the cross fire, another thing to wail over. There is an issue in the entire Dapchi cause that i was expecting the opposition to capitalize on instead you are all busy with conjectures and conspiracy theories that even an 8year old will find loopholes in

DAPCHI GIRLS SAGA: THE FLYING DIMENSION SURELY RAISES FUNDAMENTAL QUESTIONS!
I initally decided not to write on the Dapchi Kidnapping saga because I just wanted to "enjoy" what others were writing on it. But that changed I after I read that the girls were flown in planes.

Planes?

Now, let us look at some scenarios:

* If it was just an airstrip (and not conventional airport) that was used, who gave the militant's air traffic clearance to take off and land?

*Most planes that can sit more than 50 passengers use turbine engines and usually need conventional airports to land and take off, so does it mean Boko Haram now has an airport with full complement of control tower and air traffic controllers?

* The closest airfield to Dapchi is in Diffa which is about 200 kilometres from Dapchi. The other conventional airport is in Maiduguri. It may interest you to know that Diffa is in Niger Republic.

* If you check the two pictures (taken via Google Earth) that accompany this post, you will see that the closest airport (or even airstrip), within Nigeria, to Dapchi is the Maiduguri airport.

* Does it mean the girls were first taken to Niger Republic before being flown back to Nigeria.

* Between Diffa (in Niger Republic) and Nigeria, there is a big stream which actually forms the boundary between the two countries. So if they were taken to Diffa by road from Dapchi, how did they cross?

Now the questions:

* Which airport was used to convey the girls in a plane?

* No aircraft can fly in any country's airspace without being picked up by the radar. How come they were not seen via radar?

* Even if you visit flyradar24.com, you will see every aircraft that is airborne in any country at that particular minute. Did anyone see their plane?

I am a reporter. I have put these scenarios and questions across so that readers and commentators can draw their own conclusions.

And it is these scenarios and unanswered questions that make the tales of one Sergeant Bako a bit worthy of being read again even if they sound like moonlight stories.

Happy Palm Sunday...
oga, you are a reporter yet you are incapable of simple deductive reasoning.
Didn't you read where one of the girls talked about being taken across a river and later driven to a village they didn't know they of their kidnap? Neither did you remember that the NA said part of the requirement for releasing the girls was that no military action will be taken during the return against BH.
