The target is to harvest 4,000 tubers of yams per 2km drip irrigation system around June 2018 when the market price would be about N500 per tuber depending on when yours is planted.
It takes 6-7 months to harvest.

Farm Location:
Iro. On papalanto-ofada road. 20 minutes walk to the farm from the major road.

Source of water: Ogun-Osun river.

Learning advantage:
You can participate in all or part of the farming process in order to be able to do it yourself in future. The hands on learning is free for all participants and their friends.

Cost: N650k.
This covers land preparation, seed yams, stacking, pest and weed control, nutrients application and irrigation up to harvesting.

Further planting of cucumber and watermelon not advised on phase3 farm site.
Phase 1 ( ijepe) and phase 6 ( iro) can be used since both are near water source.

Towards 2017/2018 dry season farming, we are making land, water, pumping machine and hose available to every serious minded person that intends to produce during November to march period.
It will be not more than 1 acre per participant.
The recommended system of irrigation is drip. To be provided and installed by the participant.
Fueling per month is 10k per participant.
