lhordspy:People have a right of choice to associate with any legitimate political party worldwide, therefore she should be allowed her freedom to choose. Those from the Ibo ethnicity who are CLEARLY attacking Mercy on her Instagram are HIGHLY IRRESPONSIBLE and OVERBEARING. Period. 3 Likes 3 Shares |

Food / Re: If You Could Only Eat One Food For The Rest Of Your Life, What Would That Be? by AlphaTaikun: 11:57pm On Dec 07, 2022 |
mariahAngel:Lol... That is an insightful info there mariahAngel. Now that you've mentioned it, I'll do some more reading on plantain nutritional value. Perhaps adding food toppings such as avocados and grilled fish to plantains would give a more rounded diet. What do you think about eating boiled unripe plantain with the peel still on it? Is this proper? I'm just curious since you seem to have more culinary info here. That last paragraph got me chuckling here... That makes the 2 of us caught in the "fried plantain aroma web." Lol There are other aromas that I like that trigger that feel-good sensation, such as oven-baked bread, Hawaiian pizza, cakes, coffee, even Cuban cigars, etc, (though I don't smoke). I like your well-written culinary insights. Keep it up! Ciao. 2 Likes 1 Share |

AnitaofEurope:Yeah, we have bilingual citizens in those countries who speak English and there are large immigrant communities from those 3 countries in the U.S., so the motivation to learn and speak English is apparent! But then for reasons of national pride, some folks in a country like France won't speak English to you, but would want to hear you speak French. Lol. 1 Like 1 Share |

mariahAngel:How's it going mariahAngel? Plantain is nutritionally deficient? Are you kiddin' me? Fried rice and dodo (fried plantain) all the way babe... I'm addicted to the way the intense aroma of both foods caress my nasal nerve endings. As a stand-alone food, I can eat dodo for life, worldwide! 1 Like 1 Share |

SKhanmi:How's it going? You misread the context of my entire post @SKhanmi. You didn't have to rephrase my direct question to you. That's NOT what I meant. Lol... I simply asked you a DIRECT question because I wanted to know "if you would have married her when she was much younger" based on our knowledge of how she was conceived... "I would, because she spoke the truth, and I find that truth in the midst of her emotional turmoil very attractive. Besides, the parents who adopted her raised her well from childhood, and gave her a good education." Just to be clear, in my first post on this thread, I stated my profound support for her, and her story gave me deeper insights as to the fact that people who were born under her kind of circumstance have emotional needs and desire for love just like the rest of mankind. |

Beebah321:Beebah321, Point of correction. He is her grandfather's age group. She clocked just 21 last month. She was born in the year 2001 in a hospital in the Ketu area of Lagos State according to a phone interview transcript posted on NL with her real look-alike father who is also a lawyer like Ned. He said he and others used to call Ned bros in their neighborhood while growing up. Ned is older than this girl's father! Period. |
Politics / Re: FG Developed Lagos, Not Tinubu - Atiku by AlphaTaikun: 1:41pm On Dec 06, 2022 |
jcross19:You are the one that is getting things mixed up. Tinubu NEVER said all that trash that you these guys are saying all over the place. I watched the video of his visit to the East of Nigeria, and he CLEARLY said in Yoruba: "BALA BALA, BALA BOLO", which MEANS "GIBBERISH" in Yoruba language, NOT the NONSENSE you people have been typing online that he said. I am embarassed at the complete LACK of truth and honesty among many of you. Somebody pointed out the full video here on NL of Tinubu's visit to the East of Nigeria and that is when I understood what Bola Tinubu said. The administrative capital of Nigeria from 1914 to 1991 has NEVER been Lagos State. Lagos Island was the administrative capital NOT Lagos State! Lagos Island belongs to indigenes, just like Calabar [which was also the administrative capital of the British] has indigenes. Lagos State only came into existence on May 27, 1967. The absence of DETAILED history classes is majorly responsible for you the younger generation mixing up Lagos Island [or Lagos for short] with Lagos State which are 2 completely different land masses or geo-political entities. Lagos Island is a city within Lagos State with Yoruba folks as the indigenes. The REAL indigenes of Lagos State are the Ijebu-Yorubas, Awori-Yorubas, Ogus, with Egba-Yoruba immigrant populations that came centuries back and have become indigenes. Chief Jeremiah Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN rapidly industrialised the Old Western region in the 1950s with the establishment of Ikeja GRA and several industrial estates such as Ikeja, Ilupeju, Iganmu [Ikeja, Ilupeju and MORE than 90% of today's Lagos State land mass was carved out from Awolowo's Western region, in the May 27, 1967, 12 new states creation by Gen. Yakubu Gowon into the new Lagos State]. Oluyole industrial estate in Ibadan was also among Premier Obafemi Awolowo's legacies, which the Old Eastern and Northern regions copied in the 1950s to the 1960s in a healthy competition to form the Trans-Amadi and Kakuri industrial estates in Port Harcourt and Kaduna. It is TIME for the Lagos State government to make it mandatory OR THROUGH persuation for all the media houses to have 5-10 minute slots to broadcast the TRUE history of how Lagos State came into existence on May 27, 1967, because a lot of ignorant people are confusing Lagos Island with Lagos State, and FALSELY claiming that the whole of Lagos State was the Federal Capital which is NOT! History must be taught in schools as well. It's getting annoying that we have to keep explaining these things to the younger generation and some older folks who DON'T READ history books! lessonotes:@lessonotes, So, you seem very traditional here. Are you saying us men should provide all the finance for family overheads? What are the proper financial roles in the modern world we live in? I have a different historical perspective here... For the records, in most African societies back in the day, women were NEVER redundant. Women contributed to the upkeep of the homes as well by bringing something in besides cooking, and giving birth. Roles between men and women were properly defined. Have you also heard of the hunter-gatherer societies from further back in human history? Men were the hunters and women were the gatherers of food crops in the wild or small farms. Period. Nice thread though. 1 Like 1 Share |
