PoliticsAnyone Attacking A Man Of God Is A Demon On Assignment” — Pastor Chris Okafor Re by alphonsoolajide(op): 8:38am On Dec 26, 2025
Anyone Attacking a Man of God Is a Demon on Assignment” — Pastor Chris Okafor Responds to Allegations

Popular Nigerian cleric Pastor Chris Okafor has sparked widespread reactions online following comments he made during a recent sermon in which he strongly addressed critics amid ongoing allegations leveled against him. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Speaking to his congregation, the pastor described individuals who attack men of God as being “on a demonic assignment,” insisting that such criticisms go beyond personal attacks and extend to the church and its members.

“When you see a person attacking a man of God, that person is not just a human being; that person is a demon on assignment. It is not just an attack on the man of God, it is an attack on you,” Okafor said.

His remarks come in the wake of allegations made by some women, including Chidera Precious Okafor, who claim to be his daughters. Chidera had publicly shared accounts of alleged unfair treatment and an incident she described as a near assault, which she said occurred in 2020 during a period she reportedly lived with the cleric.

Pastor Okafor has, however, categorically denied the allegations, maintaining that he is not the biological father of the women involved. He has referenced a previous DNA test, which he claims disproves the assertions.

In response to the public circulation of the allegations, Okafor’s legal team has reportedly filed a lawsuit against social media activist VeryDarkMan, who amplified the claims online. The suit is said to be seeking a public retraction and is also requesting a fresh DNA test to conclusively address the controversy.

As the matter continues to generate debate across social media and religious circles, observers note that the situation highlights ongoing tensions between public accountability, religious leadership, and the influence of online activism.

At the time of filing this report, the allegations remain unresolved, and no court judgment has been issued.

Pastor Chris Okafor breaks silence amid allegations, dismisses critics as “demons on assignment” and denies claims linking him to the women involved.

PoliticsPortable Alleges Nnamdi Kanu Was Offered ₦50bn Before Sentencing by alphonsoolajide(op): 8:40am On Nov 22, 2025
Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has stirred public debate after alleging that detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, was offered ₦50 billion prior to his recent sentencing. The claim surfaced in a video circulating on social media, where the artiste also mentioned Yoruba activist Sunday Igboho in the same allegation. Eyes of Lagos reports,

Portable claimed that both Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho were approached with the alleged offer. According to him, Kanu rejected it while Igboho accepted. The singer provided no evidence, and the allegation has not been independently verified, but the comments have fuelled heated discussions online amid ongoing security and political tensions.

Nnamdi Kanu was recently sentenced to life imprisonment after a Federal High Court in Abuja found him guilty on seven counts related to terrorism. The court also issued additional prison terms of 20 years and five years on other charges, all to run concurrently. Kanu has been in detention since his arrest in 2021, facing a series of terrorism-related trials.

In a major development following the sentencing, the IPOB leader was moved from the Department of State Services (DSS) facility in Abuja to a correctional centre in Sokoto State. His lawyer, Aloy Ejimakor, confirmed the transfer in a post on social media, noting that it occurred shortly after the judgment was delivered.

Before the verdict, his lawyer Ejimakor and his brother Emmanuel were arrested during a protest demanding Kanu’s release. The demonstration was led by human-rights activist Omoyele Sowore, who was also apprehended and later released. Sowore was rearrested shortly afterwards over a separate comment in which he referred to the Inspector General of Police as a “goat.”

The developments surrounding Nnamdi Kanu’s case, combined with Portable’s new allegations, have further intensified public interest and political reactions. Many Nigerians continue to monitor the situation, with legal and activist groups calling for transparency regarding Kanu’s treatment, trial proceedings, and the circumstances surrounding his transfer.

PoliticsSoyinka Condemns Donald Trump Over Threat Of U.S. Military Intervention by alphonsoolajide(op): 8:17am On Nov 22, 2025
Soyinka Condemns Donald Trump Over Threat of U.S. Military Intervention in Nigeria

Nobel laureate Prof. Wole Soyinka has condemned comments credited to U.S. President Donald Trump, in which the American leader threatened to deploy U.S. troops to Nigeria. The literary icon described the statement as reckless, uninformed, and insensitive to the complexities of Nigeria’s security challenges. Soyinka spoke in Makurdi on Thursday after a meeting with Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, where he addressed journalists on national issues. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The playwright faulted the U.S. president’s remarks, insisting that no world leader should make such sweeping declarations about invading another sovereign nation without a thorough understanding of the situation on ground. He argued that the tone of Trump’s threat suggested a predetermined position, rather than one informed by real engagement with Nigeria’s security realities.

According to him, threats of foreign military intervention should never be issued casually or impulsively, especially in a nation grappling with deeply layered conflicts affecting several regions. Soyinka said Nigeria’s challenges require coordinated, intelligent, and locally grounded responses—approaches that cannot be replaced by external aggression.

“You don’t just open your mouth and say, ‘I’m coming to help you whether you like it or not,’” he said. “With poor, almost non-existent analysis, you say you are coming with ‘guns blazing’. That is not how global diplomacy or security cooperation should work.”

Soyinka stressed that while Nigeria’s internal issues demand urgent action, the rights and dignity of citizens must remain central to efforts aimed at restoring peace. He maintained that even in moments of crisis, the government and citizens deserve respect from foreign leaders commenting on the country’s affairs.

The government must protect its citizens, but at least respect those who are genuinely working to find solutions to this unacceptable situation,” he said.

The renowned writer also criticized the dismissive tone used in the reported comments, noting that no country should be treated as though it is incapable of addressing its own problems. He insisted that external assistance, when necessary, must be sought through collaboration rather than threats.

“Because I’m ill or have difficulties does not mean I should accept aid from a mad man,” Soyinka said. “You cannot just open your mouth and say you’re coming to help someone with violence, without any real analysis of where the problem started.”

His remarks have since gained traction across social media, with many Nigerians supporting his position and condemning any suggestion of foreign military intervention in the country. Some commentators argued that while Nigeria faces serious security concerns, the sovereignty of the nation must not be undermined. Others praised Soyinka for calling out what they described as a pattern of inflammatory rhetoric.

Security analysts also weighed in, noting that foreign military deployment often escalates conflicts rather than resolves them, especially in regions with complex cultural, political, and communal dynamics. They argue that international assistance should focus on intelligence sharing, economic support, and strengthening local institutions, rather than direct armed involvement.

Meanwhile, the Presidency has not issued a formal response to Soyinka’s comments or the reported statement by the U.S. president. Government officials have recently reiterated their commitment to addressing insecurity, particularly in states affected by banditry, terrorism, and communal violence.

Soyinka, who has long been vocal about governance and national cohesion, reiterated the need for Nigeria to build stronger and more responsive structures for protecting citizens. He said the nation must continue seeking home-grown solutions, supported by credible partnerships—not high-handed threats.

His comments come at a time when Nigerians are increasingly concerned about safety in rural and urban communities, with calls for federal and state governments to scale up coordinated security action.

The video of Soyinka’s remarks continues to circulate widely as citizens debate the implications of Trump’s controversial position and Nigeria’s right to safeguard its territorial integrity.

Speed Darlington Rejects ₦100K Bill, Installs Barbwire Himself — Video Sparks Reactions”

Speed Darlington has shared a video recounting how he dismissed a handyman and installed barbwire around his fence by himself after being billed ₦100,000 for the job. The musician, who posted the footage on social media, said he found the amount unreasonable and decided to handle the installation personally. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In the video, he explained that the handyman claimed the work required the quoted price, but after observing the man, who he said had three wives and children, Speed Darlington concluded that if the handyman could do it, then he also had the capacity. He noted that he has dismantled and reassembled car engines in the past, insisting that installing barbwire was far from the most difficult task he had handled.

The entertainer is still constructing his home in his village in eastern Nigeria, and the barbwire installation is part of the ongoing work. The video has drawn several reactions from social media users, many of whom commented on his frugality and willingness to take on the project himself.

One user joked that anyone more frugal than Speed Darlington has crossed the line, while another said his refusal to hire help was the reason his 15-bedroom project had taken years to complete. Others pointed out the safety risks, noting that a fall from the fence could have cost him far more than the ₦100,000 he refused to pay.

The incident has since sparked conversations about DIY culture, rising labour costs, and the risks people take to cut expenses in Nigeria.

CelebritiesUK Police Storm Peller’s Apartment During Live Stream After Noise Complaint by alphonsoolajide(op): 7:44am On Nov 20, 2025
A viral video has captured the moment UK police visited the residence of TikTok personality Peller following a noise complaint during one of his live streaming sessions. The clip, which has circulated widely on social media, shows officers knocking on his door after neighbours reported loud behaviour coming from the apartment. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The content creator, who is currently in the UK for a show, appeared surprised as a male and female officer entered the room to inspect the space. The officers said they needed to confirm he was alone and not involved in a heated argument, given the volume of the noise reported. When asked about the ownership of the apartment, Peller explained it belonged to his manager, who was not present at the time.

He also told the officers that he was due to return to Nigeria on the 24th, noting that he was only in the country temporarily.

The incident has triggered mixed reactions online, with some critics accusing him of being unnecessarily loud and lacking awareness of local regulations. Others argued that his behaviour could have escalated into a more serious situation.

One user wrote that Peller’s lack of composure was consistent with previous criticisms of his communication style, while another highlighted the importance of understanding one’s rights in the UK. The commenter warned that allowing police entry without a warrant could expose someone to potential legal complications and noted that UK law does not permit officers to search a private space without consent or proper documentation.

The encounter has since sparked a wider conversation about how Nigerian entertainers abroad conduct themselves and the need for better awareness of laws in foreign countries.

Lady Sparks Outrage After Claiming Men Who Can Cook Are ‘Red Flags’ in Relationships

A Nigerian lady has sparked widespread reactions after claiming that men who can cook are a major red flag in relationships. In a viral TikTok video shared by a creator identified as iyetiktok1, she warned women to be cautious of men who are skilled in the kitchen, insisting that such men rarely commit to marriage. Eyes Of lagos reports,

She argued that a man who cooks exceptionally well—whether it is ogbono soup, egusi, rice and stew, or jollof rice—often has no intention of settling down. According to her, such men are too independent and do not rely on their partners for anything, including meals.

In her words, she said women should be wary: “Any man that can cook is a red flag. Man wey fit cook ogbono, egusi, rice and stew, jollof rice… If you’re in that kind relationship, he can never marry you. Wetin you sabi wey him no sabi?”

She added that a man who cooks, washes his clothes, and handles his own chores would likely feel no need to marry because he already caters to himself comfortably.

Her remarks triggered a wave of reactions online, with many Nigerians mocking the perspective, while others strongly disagreed and insisted that cooking is not tied to a man’s commitment levels. The conversation has since spread across social media, generating both amusement and debate.

CelebritiesPortable Mocks Verydarkman And Mr Jollof After Their Mid-Flight Fight Drama by alphonsoolajide(op): 6:54am On Nov 18, 2025
Controversial singer Portable has inserted himself into the ongoing clash between social media critic VeryDarkMan and comedian Mr. Jollof, following their highly publicized confrontation aboard a commercial flight.

The two men were captured on video engaging in a heated physical altercation while passengers looked on in shock. Airline officials later confirmed that both individuals were deboarded for violating the airline’s zero-tolerance policy on unruly behaviour, a standard that prohibits fights, threats, or any form of disturbance during boarding or in the cabin. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Reacting to the incident, Portable mocked Mr. Jollof for sustaining blows during the clash and resorting to desperate defensive moves to shield himself. He also threw jabs at VeryDarkMan, stating that despite his size, he delivered what he described as “weak punches” and failed to make proper use of his build during the scuffle.

Portable went further to recall how he was previously approached to engage in a boxing match with VeryDarkMan. According to him, he received an offer of ₦100 million to participate in the fight but declined, insisting that the amount was not worth the risk.

In a video message addressing the situation, Portable said he found it amusing that VeryDarkMan chose to confront Mr. Jollof only after they were already inside the aircraft, despite allegedly spotting him earlier during boarding. He argued that the confrontation created unnecessary tension for other passengers and questioned the motive behind fighting in such a restricted environment.

He added that Mr. Jollof’s reaction during the scuffle showed sheer determination to defend himself, even as both men struggled to maintain balance inside the limited space of the aircraft aisle. Portable insisted that the fight was avoidable and expressed confidence that he would have overpowered VeryDarkMan if the proposed bout between them had taken place.

Portable said in part that VeryDarkMan’s size did not translate into strength and maintained that he had only been considered for the ₦100 million offer because organisers knew the match-up would attract attention from fans on social media. He insisted that the offer was insufficient and that he would only consider such a fight for a significantly higher amount.

The singer concluded his commentary by suggesting that the altercation on the aircraft had little to do with rivalry and more to do with “misplaced aggression.” He also advised both parties to focus on resolving their issues privately rather than causing public disturbances that inconvenience others.

Gateman Blocks SUV Owner From Entering Estate Over Missing Sticker, Sparks Reactions

A gateman working in an unnamed estate has gone viral on social media after refusing entry to a man driving an SUV because the vehicle lacked the required estate access sticker—unaware that the man he stopped was actually the owner of the entire estate. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Footage circulating online shows the security guard standing firm and blocking the gate as the SUV approached, insisting that no vehicle without the authorized sticker would be allowed entry. According to reports, the gateman maintained his position despite the driver’s irritation, explaining that the estate’s rules did not allow him to open the gate for anyone who lacked proper identification.

The confrontation quickly escalated as the SUV driver questioned why he was being denied access to his own property. The man reportedly told the gateman that the reason he did not have the estate sticker was simply because he owned the estate and therefore did not require one. The moment left the gateman stunned, though he had acted strictly based on instructions and security protocol.

The video of the exchange was widely shared on X, formerly Twitter, drawing thousands of reactions from Nigerians who found the situation both amusing and symbolic of broader societal issues. Many users compared the incident to the recent confrontation between Minister Nyesom Wike and a military officer, where a superior unexpectedly encountered resistance from someone of lower rank.

A user with the handle @Usmanashafe wrote:
“Poor man pikin go say ‘But the Gateman is doing his job’ 🤣”

Another user, @HkiinzG, narrated a similar story, saying:
“My uncle got back from Canada and the guard didn’t open the gate for him because he didn’t have the estate card. Unknown to him that my uncle owns the estate. Instead of my uncle to sack him, he increased his salary from 500k to 1.5 million.”

Another netizen, @Row_Haastrup, said the incident should be seen as an opportunity rather than grounds for punishment.
“But shouldn’t this even be a reason for a promotion or commendation? But you know now, cos of ego, oga could sack him.”

The video continues to trend as many Nigerians debate whether the gateman should be punished or commended. While some argued that he displayed professionalism and devotion to his job by ensuring only authorized vehicles gained access, others believed the estate owner may have felt embarrassed by being publicly challenged at his own gate.

Many users noted that the incident reflects tensions often present between staff enforcing strict security rules and property owners who assume their identities should guarantee unquestioned access.

Security experts reacting online emphasized that strict gate protocols are essential in private estates, especially in areas with rising security concerns. They argued that identities and vehicle identification systems such as stickers help reduce impersonation, unauthorized access, and internal breaches.

On the other hand, some commentators said the situation also highlights the need for estates to have updated databases and recognition systems for property owners to prevent such embarrassing confrontations.

The short clip continues to generate commentary, humour, and debate, with some insisting that the gateman did the right thing and should be rewarded, while others maintain that the estate owner might consider the confrontation disrespectful.

The incident serves as another reminder of the unpredictable encounters that arise from Nigeria’s layered security culture, where those tasked with enforcing rules may find themselves unknowingly confronting their own employers.

The trending video remains one of the most discussed clips of the day as Nigerians continue to share similar experiences and humorous takes on the situation.

The Ondo State Police Command has arraigned a 33-year-old self-acclaimed missionary, Joshua Jayeola, before a Magistrate’s Court in Akure for alleged rape, fraud and sexual exploitation of young women who were reportedly lured with promises of employment and social-media content creation opportunities.

Jayeola was alleged to have collected a total of N4.5 million from several victims under the pretext of securing international passports and visas for them. According to the police, the accused operated as part of a syndicate that targeted young women from different parts of Nigeria, promising them domestic work, ushering jobs and overseas employment.Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Investigators stated that the victims were deceived with false job offers but ended up being used for illicit activities allegedly coordinated by the defendant. According to the police, some of the victims were subjected to sexual exploitation and abuse during their stay in the apartment.

Jayeola was arraigned on an eight-count charge bordering on rape, fraud, unlawful detention and sexual exploitation. Police prosecutor, Sulaiman Adebayo, informed the court that the offences took place in July 2025 at Victory Lane, Alagbaka Extension in Akure. He alleged that the defendant impersonated a missionary as part of his scheme to gain the trust of unsuspecting young women.

Adebayo further told the court that Jayeola raped two of the victims and obtained money from others under fraudulent claims of helping them secure travel documents. He added that the defendant also managed a property used for habitual prostitution and profited from the proceeds of the illegal activities.

According to the charge sheet, the offences violate Sections 358, 225B (a & b), 112 (1 & 2), and 484 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ondo State (2006). They also contravene Section 1(c) of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud-Related Offences Act, and are punishable under Section 3 of the same law.

Magistrate Damilola Sekoni ordered that the defendant be kept in police custody until November 19 to enable his counsel access him. After that, he is to be transferred to the correctional centre pending further directives from the court.

Christianity EtcPope Leo Names Nigeria Among Countries Where Christians Face Persecution by alphonsoolajide(op): 8:17am On Nov 17, 2025
In various parts of the world, Christians suffer discrimination and persecution. I think especially of Bangladesh, Nigeria, Mozambique, Sudan, and other countries from which we frequently hear of attacks on communities and places of worship. God is a merciful Father who desires peace among all His children! I accompany in prayer the families of Kivu, in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where in recent days there has been a massacre of civilians. Let us pray that all violence may cease and that believers may work together for the common good.

“Pope Leo XIV Names Nigeria Among Countries Where Christians Face Persecution”

Pope Leo XIV has listed Nigeria among countries where Christians reportedly face growing persecution, grouping the nation alongside Bangladesh, Mozambique, Sudan and others experiencing similar challenges.

The Catholic pontiff made the remark on Sunday, November 16, via his official X account, expressing deep concern over continuous attacks targeting Christian communities, churches and places of worship in various parts of the world. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

According to him, the rising wave of violence demands urgent global attention and intercessory prayers. He appealed to the international community to stand in solidarity with victims of religious hostility, while calling for peace and unity among all believers.

“I think especially of Bangladesh, Nigeria, Mozambique, Sudan, and other countries from which we frequently hear of attacks on communities and places of worship. God is a merciful Father who desires peace among all His children!” he wrote.

Pope Leo XIV also extended prayers to families in the Kivu region of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where recent massacres resulted in significant civilian casualties. He emphasized the need for compassion, humanitarian aid and sustained intervention to protect vulnerable religious groups.

His comments follow earlier concerns expressed by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who recently re-designated Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” (CPC) over alleged religious persecution. The CPC designation is typically assigned to nations accused of severe violations of religious freedom.

However, the Nigerian federal government has repeatedly dismissed such classifications, insisting that Nigeria remains a secular state committed to the safety of all religious groups. Authorities maintain that there is no state-sponsored persecution or targeted attacks against any particular faith.

Pope Leo’s remarks have triggered fresh conversations on global religious freedom, with many urging governments and international bodies to intensify efforts aimed at protecting worshippers and preserving fundamental human rights.

CelebritiesYou Trapped My Life Since 17”- Regina Daniels Issues Warning To Estranged Husban by alphonsoolajide(op): 8:02am On Nov 17, 2025
You trapped my life since 17”- Regina Daniels issues warning to estranged husband, Ned Nwoko

Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has once again stirred intense public debate after releasing a new and emotionally charged statement accusing her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, of deliberate attempts to destroy her reputation and seize custody of their children. The actress, who shared her claims in a lengthy Instagram post, alleged that the politician has been “trapping” her life since she was 17 and is now trying to undermine her public image for personal gain. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The latest outburst follows a series of controversies surrounding the couple’s strained relationship, including Regina’s earlier allegation that Nwoko orchestrated the arrest of her brother, Sammy West, who was later granted bail. While that matter is still generating public reactions, the new claims have introduced an even deeper layer of complexity to the ongoing dispute.
Fresh Allegations of Entrapment and Image Damage

In her post, Regina Daniels accused Ned Nwoko of launching coordinated efforts to tarnish her name both online and offline. According to her, the alleged moves were strategic, considering her reputation serves as a major currency in the entertainment industry.

“Why are you trying so hard to ruin me publicly and privately?” she wrote. “In my part of the world, a good reputation equals money. I am an entertainer. But I’m tired. You trapped my life since I was 17. This is me fighting for my freedom.”

Her statement suggests a deep-seated struggle within the marriage, one she claims has been ongoing for years but concealed from the public out of respect for her children and their father.
Claim of Drug Introduction and Sexual Coercion

One of the most explosive claims in the post is Regina’s allegation that Nwoko introduced her to hard drugs early in their relationship. She alleged that she only used MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy or Molly) because it intensified their sexual encounters, which she claims he preferred.

“You introduced me to the drug ecstasy (Molly) just to satisfy you,” she wrote, insisting that this was the only substance she ever used.

Regina further accused Nwoko of relying heavily on sexual enhancement medication, alleging that she had rushed him to the hospital multiple times due to associated health complications.
Accusations of Custody Manipulation With ‘Fake Drug Report’

Regina Daniels also alleged a sinister plan by her estranged husband to use a fabricated drug test result to take custody of their two children. She described the attempt as “demeaning” and “insane,” insisting that it was part of a larger strategy to label her mentally or morally unfit.

“Coming with a fake drug report just because you want custody of my kids is insane,” she stated.

According to her, some members of Nwoko’s alleged “camp” have hinted at his intentions, further fueling her fears that he wants to portray her as unstable.
Call-Out to Co-Wife and Hints of Dark Secrets

Regina did not spare one of Nwoko’s Moroccan wives, accusing her of being a drug user who had irresponsibly claimed Regina introduced her to narcotics. She described the co-wife as a “Coke addict” and dismissed the claims as a desperate attempt to align with Nwoko’s strategy.

The actress went further, hinting at the possibility of revealing undisclosed “dark secrets,” including issues involving alleged murder, land deals, and fraud—claims she said she has avoided mentioning out of respect for their shared family.

“If you don’t leave me alone, I’ll spill everything,” she warned.
Ned Nwoko Yet to Respond

As of the time of this report, Senator Ned Nwoko has not publicly responded to the latest allegations. The silence from his camp has only intensified public curiosity and speculation, especially since previous controversies involving the couple often generated lengthy explanations from the politician.

With the matter unfolding publicly and emotions running high, observers anticipate that the coming days may bring even more revelations—or a possible legal intervention.

Police officers on site reportedly fired tear gas to disperse the crowd as bulldozers advanced through the densely populated area, clearing structures one after another. Scenes of confusion followed, with families rushing to salvage personal belongings while others watched in tears as their properties crumbled.

Several residents alleged that they were not adequately informed before the demolition commenced. “We just woke up to see bulldozers in front of our houses,” said Mrs. Adebayo, a trader whose building was affected. “They said it’s under a power line, but this house has been here for over twenty years. No one came to give us proper notice or compensation.”

The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) had earlier stated that structures under high-tension power lines are illegal and pose significant safety risks to occupants. The agency insists that the ongoing demolition across Alagbado and neighboring communities is part of a wider city safety enforcement drive. Officials have repeatedly warned that continued habitation under live power lines could lead to electrocution or fire outbreaks, adding that residents were served notices before the exercise.

In a statement from LASBCA’s spokesperson, the agency reaffirmed that the demolitions are in accordance with the Lagos State Urban and Regional Planning and Development Law. The government also cited previous incidents where buildings constructed too close to power installations caused accidents or electrical hazards. “It is our responsibility to prevent loss of lives,” the statement said. “Buildings under power lines are high-risk and must be cleared to protect the public.”

However, affected residents argue that the demolitions are being carried out with little empathy and without a clear compensation plan. Many homeowners claim to have building approvals and documents dating back decades. A resident who identified himself as Mr. Olawale said he invested his life savings in a mini shopping complex along AIT Road, only for it to be destroyed overnight. “This is not development, this is destruction,” he lamented. “We support urban renewal, but we should not be treated like we don’t matter.”

Some protesters attempted to block the road and halt the demolition trucks but were dispersed by security forces using tear gas. Videos circulating on social media show residents coughing and fleeing as thick smoke filled the air while bulldozers continued their operation under police protection.

Community leaders in Alagbado have appealed to the state government to reconsider its approach, urging that the affected residents be properly engaged and compensated. They also requested that alternative housing or business spaces be provided for displaced families and traders. “We are not against the government,” one community representative said, “but we need a human face to this process. Many people here have nowhere else to go.”

Urban planners, meanwhile, argue that the exercise is long overdue, citing years of unregulated construction and encroachment on power line corridors. According to them, enforcement of planning laws is essential to prevent future tragedies, though they acknowledge that communication and resettlement are critical parts of the process that should not be ignored.

The demolition drive is expected to continue in phases as part of what the government calls a “safety and environmental compliance campaign.” Similar exercises have been carried out in parts of Ikorodu, Ojodu, and Egbeda in recent months.

For now, AIT Road bears the marks of heartbreak and policy in action — flattened homes, scattered belongings, and a community struggling to make sense of its new reality. While some see the move as a necessary measure for public safety and urban order, others believe it is yet another case of the powerful disregarding the vulnerable.

As dusk fell on Kola–Alagbado, smoke and dust lingered in the air while families huddled beside the ruins of what used to be their homes. Amid the silence, the debate continues: is this demolition a sign of progress, or a painful reminder of how development often comes at a human cost?

Celebrities“keep Quiet, Stay Off Social Media” — Blessing CEO Breaks Down In Tears, Advises by alphonsoolajide(op): 9:52am On Nov 08, 2025
“Keep Quiet, Stay Off Social Media” — Blessing CEO Breaks Down in Tears, Advises Regina Daniels

Self-acclaimed relationship and mental health expert, Blessing Okoro, popularly known as Blessing CEO, has shared an emotional message concerning the ongoing marital crisis between Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.

Regina Daniels and her family have remained in the public eye in recent weeks following the arrest and detention of her brother, Samuel Ojeogwu (aka Sammy West) — a situation that has intensified speculation about tension in her marriage. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In a heartfelt video posted on social media, Blessing CEO broke down in tears as she offered what she called “sincere sisterly advice” to Regina. She urged the actress to stay silent and avoid social media commentary while navigating her marital issues.

According to Blessing, “Regina, keep quiet and stay off social media for now. Don’t say anything, not even a word. If you must speak, let it be through an anonymous blogger outside Nigeria.”

Blessing also appealed to Regina’s elder brother, Sweezzy1, to stop posting about the situation online, warning that his public outbursts could worsen the family’s predicament.

“Sweezzy, please stop posting. Every time you share something, you make it harder for your sister. The more noise there is, the more powerful people get angry. Calm down and protect your sister silently,” she said tearfully.

The relationship coach further reflected on the emotional toll of love gone wrong, saying many people fail to understand how painful it can be when relationships involving power, wealth, and emotions collapse.

“People don’t know what it feels like when love turns sour. In the world of the rich, power is often used to break women until they have no choice but to go back. I can feel Regina’s pain,” she added.

Blessing CEO emphasized that Regina Daniels is “crying for help”, urging fans and colleagues to speak up and support her before the situation spirals out of control.

“Regina has always been compassionate and supportive of others in pain. Now it’s our turn to stand by her. This is not gossip — this is a cry for help,” Blessing said.

Concluding her emotional message, she described the situation as a battle of ego and power, calling on anyone with influence to intervene and mediate before things escalate further.

“This is not just marriage drama; it’s a power struggle. If you have any connection or influence, please step in. Regina is too young to carry this kind of burden alone,” she pleaded.

The video has since gone viral, drawing mixed reactions from fans. While some praised Blessing CEO for her compassion, others accused her of using Regina’s situation to gain attention.

As of the time of filing this report, Regina Daniels has remained silent, while her family continues to seek legal and emotional support amid the controversy.

80,000 Nigerians, Other Foreign Nationals Lose U.S. Visas in Major Immigration Crackdown

In what has been described as one of the largest immigration enforcement actions in recent years, the United States Department of State has confirmed the revocation of more than 80,000 visas, including those held by Nigerian and other foreign nationals.

The move, according to a statement released Thursday, forms part of the Trump administration’s renewed efforts to strengthen border security and safeguard American citizens. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

The Department described the decision as a reflection of the government’s “promises made, promises kept” policy on immigration enforcement. It emphasized that the revocations were targeted at individuals deemed to pose security or public safety risks, as well as those who violated U.S. immigration laws.

According to official figures, the crackdown affected 16,000 visa holders linked to driving under the influence (DUI) offenses, 12,000 for assault, and another 8,000 for theft-related charges. Others reportedly lost their visas due to alleged terrorism links, public safety concerns, or visa overstays.

The Department reiterated that the measure was part of ongoing efforts to ensure that foreign nationals residing in or visiting the United States comply with federal laws and maintain good conduct.

“The Department of State remains committed to protecting the interests of the United States and its citizens. Visa privileges are not entitlements, and they may be withdrawn where national security or public order is at risk,” the statement read in part.

It further warned that foreign nationals involved in criminal activity or immigration violations would continue to face enforcement actions, including visa revocation, deportation, or permanent entry bans.

The announcement has generated significant reaction among Nigerians and other affected communities, with many expressing concern over the scale and timing of the crackdown.

Migration analysts say the move underscores the U.S. government’s continued focus on tightening immigration control and enhancing internal vetting systems, particularly under conservative leadership.

While the exact number of affected Nigerians has not been independently verified, early estimates suggest that thousands of citizens may have been impacted, especially those with unresolved legal or residency issues in the U.S.

The Nigerian government has yet to issue an official response to the development, but diplomatic sources say consular officials are monitoring the situation closely to provide assistance where necessary.

The visa cancellations come amid growing global scrutiny of migration policies and the rights of foreign nationals living abroad, with calls for governments to balance national security concerns with humanitarian obligations.

PoliticsNed Nwoko Spotted In National Assembly Amid Marital Crisis With Regina Daniels by alphonsoolajide(op): 9:13am On Nov 08, 2025
Ned Nwoko Spotted in National Assembly Amid Marital Crisis With Regina Daniels, Netizens React

Senator and businessman Ned Nwoko, the estranged husband of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has become the subject of intense online discussion after being spotted during a plenary session at the National Assembly.

A viral video circulating on social media shows the Delta North lawmaker passionately addressing fellow senators about what he described as one of the largest cases of economic loss in Nigeria’s history. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In his speech, Senator Nwoko revealed that over $300 billion in crude oil proceeds remain unaccounted for, describing the figure as alarming and a serious threat to Nigeria’s financial stability.

The disclosure came during the presentation of an interim report by the Senate Ad-Hoc Committee on Crude Oil Theft, which Nwoko chairs. According to the report, billions of dollars in oil revenue between 2015 and 2024 could not be traced due to widespread systemic theft, institutional inefficiency, and weak oversight mechanisms.

While delivering his remarks, Nwoko blamed the persistent financial leakages on inadequate metering systems, sabotage within the oil sector, and poor inter-agency coordination.

“Nigeria is losing hundreds of billions of dollars due to inefficiency and deliberate sabotage. The numbers are staggering, and this committee is determined to uncover where the money has gone,” Nwoko stated during the plenary.

His fiery presentation quickly gained traction across social media platforms, as clips of his speech were shared by bloggers, news outlets, and fans alike.

However, the senator’s public appearance has also fueled fresh conversations about his ongoing marital tension with Regina Daniels. Many Nigerians took to X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram to comment, drawing parallels between his political outspokenness and the turmoil in his personal life.

Some users applauded the senator for focusing on national issues despite his private challenges, while others speculated that his recent political visibility might be an attempt to divert attention from his alleged domestic crisis.

“Say what you want about Ned Nwoko, but he’s still doing his job as a senator. That oil theft report is serious business,” one social media user wrote.

Another user commented, “He’s talking about $300 billion lost, but what about his marriage? Hope Regina Daniels is doing okay.”

The timing of Nwoko’s renewed visibility comes amid growing public scrutiny of his marriage to Regina Daniels, following allegations by the actress and her family that he was involved in her brother Sammy West’s arrest — claims his camp has denied.

As debates around the video continue to trend, political observers have noted that Nwoko’s leadership of the oil theft investigation committee places him at the centre of one of Nigeria’s most significant economic probes in recent years.

The Senate is expected to receive the final report of the committee’s findings before the end of the legislative year, as lawmakers move to address the long-standing issue of crude oil theft and mismanagement.

The full list, released by the Recording Academy on Friday evening, places Nigerian acts at the forefront of the international music scene, with multiple nominations across key categories including Best African Music Performance and Best Global Music Album. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In the Best African Music Performance category, Nigerian artists took four of the five nomination slots, a testament to Afrobeats’ dominance on the world stage. The nominees include “Love” by Burna Boy, “With You” by Davido and Omah Lay, “Hope & Love” by Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin, “Gimme Dat” by Ayra Starr and Wizkid, and “PUSH 2 START” by Tyla.

Davido and Omah Lay’s soulful collaboration, “With You,” earned the pair their first joint Grammy nomination. The track, which blends highlife-inspired percussion with melodic Afro-fusion elements, has been widely praised for its emotional delivery and authentic storytelling. Similarly, Ayra Starr and Wizkid made the list with “Gimme Dat,” a rhythmic anthem that has dominated both local and international airwaves.

Burna Boy, who previously won a Grammy Award, extended his streak with a nomination in the Best Global Music Album category for his project “No Sign of Weakness.” The album will contend against top international entries such as “Sounds of Kumbha” by Siddhant Bhatia, “Éclairer le Monde: Light the World” by Youssou N’Dour, “Mind Explosion (50th Anniversary Tour Live)” by Shakti, “Chapter III: We Return to Light” by Anoushka Shankar featuring Alam Khan and Sarathy Korwar, and “Caetano e Bethânia Ao Vivo” by Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia.

The 2026 nominations highlight Afrobeats’ transformation from a continental sound to a dominant global genre. In the last five years, Nigerian artists have consistently broken barriers, topping international charts and collaborating with A-list global performers. The 2026 Grammy Awards ceremony is scheduled to hold at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, early next year. Industry observers predict a strong outing for Nigerian artists, with potential wins expected in both the Best African Music Performance and Global Music Album categories.

Entertainment journalist and critic Tunde Ogunleye described the nominations as “a clear validation of years of consistent effort and global cultural export by Nigerian artists.” He said: “This year’s nominations show that African music, particularly Nigerian Afrobeats, has crossed the threshold from trend to tradition. It’s now an established pillar of global pop culture.”

With five Nigerian stars earning Grammy nods in major categories, 2026 could mark one of the most defining moments in Africa’s music history. Christianity EtcWhen Praise Becomes Therapy: Why Nigerians Dance Their Pain Away In Church by alphonsoolajide(op): 7:08am On Nov 02, 2025
In Lagos, Sundays are more than a weekly ritual; they are a release, a celebration, and for many, an emotional therapy session disguised as worship. Step into any bustling church in Surulere, Ikoyi, or Lekki, and the scene is unmistakable — the choir strikes up, drums pound, voices rise, and suddenly, bodies start moving in synchrony. Here, worship isn’t just a spiritual exercise — it is an act of emotional liberation. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

From Soweto in South Africa to the heart of Lagos, African Christians have long embraced the physicality of praise. In Nigeria, this tradition has evolved into a mesmerizing blend of music, dance, and communal catharsis. Congregants sway, jump, kneel, and wave their hands high, often breaking into spontaneous shouts of joy. For many, this isn’t merely ritual; it is a therapeutic expression of feelings too deep to put into words.

Praise as Emotional Release

In a city defined by relentless traffic, economic pressure, and social turbulence, church becomes a sanctuary. For ordinary Lagosians — traders, office workers, students, and drivers alike — the pressures of daily life accumulate like storm clouds. Enter the church: a space where sorrow can be unburdened, anxiety alleviated, and hope restored.

Take the case of Chidinma, a young banker in Lagos Mainland. She recounts how energetic worship saved her during a period of severe depression following personal loss.

“When I walked into church that Sunday, I was tired, broken, and drained. But as soon as the choir started singing, and everyone raised their hands and danced, I felt my shoulders lighten. By the end of service, I was smiling and laughing. That energy heals you; it lifts the weight you carry,” she says.

Psychologists have long acknowledged the therapeutic power of music and movement. Dance stimulates endorphins, music triggers emotional release, and communal expression reinforces social support — all of which help reduce stress and anxiety. In Nigerian churches, the effect is amplified because worship is not only participatory but also deeply communal.

The Cultural Rhythm of Praise

Nigerian worship is inseparable from its cultural roots. Drums, shakers, and Afrobeat-influenced gospel rhythms create a musical tapestry that invites the congregation to engage physically with their faith. Unlike more restrained forms of worship, Nigerian praise encourages every member — young or old — to express themselves fully.

For Pastor Samuel Obafemi of a popular Lagos-based church, dance in worship is not only encouraged but considered essential.

“Movement is part of worship,” he explains. “When you dance, you are surrendering your body as a temple. The spirit moves, and so does the congregation. It is how we connect emotionally with God and with one another.”

This openness to physical expression sets Nigerian churches apart from many Western congregations where worship is often quieter and more structured. Here, praise is visceral, sometimes chaotic, yet profoundly healing.

Every Sunday brings countless personal testimonies of transformation. Take Ayo, a trader in Oshodi, who credits a lively choir performance with helping him overcome years of unresolved anger after losing a loved one. Or Fatima, a university student, who finds that clapping and dancing in church relieves the tension that builds up during long, stressful academic weeks.

“I can’t explain it logically,” Fatima says, smiling. “But when we sing together, clap together, and move together, it feels like all my worries are gone — even if just for a few hours.”

Such testimonies are echoed across denominations, from the Redeemed Christian Church of God and Mountain of Fire Ministries to smaller independent charismatic churches. The phenomenon transcends social class, age, and educational background — uniting the community in shared emotional and spiritual experiences.

Praise, Hope, and Resilience

Beyond personal relief, praise in Nigerian churches builds resilience. In an environment where uncertainty and hardship are daily companions, collective worship instills hope. Dancing, shouting, and singing with others becomes a ritualistic way to reaffirm faith, trust, and optimism.

Social psychologists argue that communal emotional expression — particularly through music and movement — strengthens bonds between individuals. In Lagos churches, this means congregants leave service not only spiritually rejuvenated but socially supported, ready to face the challenges of the coming week.

A Therapeutic Tradition

It’s no coincidence that Nigerian churches have become hubs for emotional well-being. Here, praise is both a spiritual and psychological exercise, rooted in tradition, culture, and lived experience. It is a practice that acknowledges the human need to release, celebrate, and heal through collective expression.

For many worshippers, this form of “therapy” is vital. In a city like Lagos, where the pace is relentless and pressures are constant, a few hours of ecstatic praise provides a mental reset. It restores energy, calms the mind, and uplifts the soul — all in a single service.

As Chidinma, Ayo, and Fatima testify, praise is more than ritual; it is medicine. The dance, the music, and the shouts of hallelujah carry weight far beyond the church walls, helping believers navigate the complexities of life with renewed hope.

In Lagos, as in many parts of Nigeria, worship is therapy, praise is release, and dancing is healing. The city’s churches are not only spiritual centers but also sanctuaries for the heart and mind. And for the millions who attend every Sunday, the experience is a reminder that even amid hardship, there is joy, there is connection, and there is hope.

CelebritiesFela Kuti Is The Only One Greater Than Me” – Burna Boy Declares During Live Stre by alphonsoolajide(op): 7:11am On Nov 01, 2025
Fela Kuti Is the Only One Greater Than Me” – Burna Boy Declares During Live Stream

Grammy Award-winning artist Burna Boy has once again set social media ablaze after declaring that the legendary Fela Anikulapo Kuti is the only artist greater than him.

The self-acclaimed African Giant made the bold statement during a live Twitch session with streamer PlaqueBoyMax, where he vibed effortlessly to Fela’s iconic Afrobeat track, singing along word for word. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

In the clip, which quickly went viral across X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok, Burna Boy could be heard saying with a confident grin:

“Fela is the king. He’s the only one greater than me.”

He went on to crown himself “001 of the Afrobeats music industry”, reigniting long-standing conversations about hierarchy and legacy in Nigeria’s music scene.
Fans React: “He’s Not Lying, But He’s Still Proud”

Burna Boy’s declaration instantly divided opinions online. While some fans hailed his confidence and acknowledgment of Fela’s influence, others accused him of being egotistical.

One user wrote, “Burna is the only artist bold enough to speak facts. Fela lives through him.”

Another critic countered, saying, “He’s talented, yes, but humility would make him greater.”

Despite the debate, many agreed that Burna Boy remains one of the few modern artists who has successfully carried Fela’s Afrobeat torch into the global spotlight — mixing social consciousness, raw energy, and cultural pride in his sound.
Burna Boy and the Spirit of Fela

Burna Boy’s admiration for Fela Kuti is well-documented. Over the years, he has credited the late Afrobeat pioneer as his biggest musical inspiration and role model, often infusing Fela’s rebellious spirit and political messaging into his own music.

From his performances at global festivals to his Afro-fusion albums, Burna Boy has repeatedly referenced Fela’s influence — not only in sound but in attitude and artistry.

The singer once revealed that his grandfather, Benson Idonije, was Fela’s first band manager, a connection that deepened his appreciation for the Afrobeat legend’s legacy.
Reigniting the “Big Three” Debate

Burna’s latest statement also reignited the ongoing “Big Three” discussion — the fan-driven rivalry among Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido.

While many see his confidence as justified due to his Grammy win and consistent global dominance, others believe such comments fuel unnecessary competition in the Afrobeats community.

Regardless, one thing remains certain: Burna Boy has solidified himself as a powerhouse — bridging generations of African music and pushing the culture far beyond borders.
Walking in the Footsteps of Greatness

As clips from the Twitch stream continue to trend, Burna Boy’s words serve as a powerful reminder of his mission — to elevate African music to world-class status.

Just like Fela before him, Burna Boy thrives on controversy, confidence, and creativity — a combination that keeps his name at the center of every conversation about Afrobeats’ global rise.

Whether you call it pride or purpose, Burna Boy’s declaration echoes one truth: he’s not just talking about greatness — he’s living it.

CelebritiesGeh Geh Sparks Buzz, Exposes Wizkid’s Secret To Staying On Top Of The Game by alphonsoolajide(op): 6:51am On Nov 01, 2025
Nigerian TikTok influencer Geh Geh has stirred major buzz online after claiming to reveal Wizkid’s secret strategy for staying relevant in the fast-changing Afrobeats scene.

In a now-trending video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Geh Geh confidently declared that the Starboy has a “powerful secret” — one that he believes keeps Wizkid far ahead of his peers. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
Geh Geh Reveals Wizkid’s Alleged Strategy

According to Geh Geh, Wizkid’s success isn’t just about dropping hits — it’s also about strategic collaborations and knowing how to play the music business smartly.

He explained that the Essence crooner uses a clever approach whenever a new artist starts trending.

In his words:

“If any artist dey trend, and everybody dey rush to feature am, Wizkid no go feature the artist direct. Him go reach out to DJ Tunez, and na Tunez go feature Wizkid and the trending artist together.
So if the song no blow, people go talk say no be Wizkid song, na DJ Tunez song. But if e blow, the glory go return to Wizkid.”

Social Media Reacts to Geh Geh’s Claim

The video quickly went viral, sparking heated debates among fans of the Made in Lagos hitmaker.

Some social media users hailed Wizkid’s alleged approach as smart business sense, praising him for understanding the dynamics of the music market.

One fan commented:

“That’s actually smart. Wizkid no dey move anyhow; everything na calculation. Man sabi the game!”

Another user wrote:

“This is pure strategy. He’s been in the game too long not to know how to protect his brand.”

However, others dismissed Geh Geh’s claim as overanalysis, insisting that Wizkid’s relevance has always been driven by talent, artistry, and global appeal, not tactics.

“Wizkid’s success is from grace and consistency, not manipulation. The guy just sabi make hit music,” one fan countered.

Wizkid: The Master of Longevity

Whether or not Geh Geh’s theory holds water, one thing fans agree on is that Wizkid has mastered the art of longevity.

From his early Superstar album to international collaborations with Drake, Beyoncé, and Skepta, the Afrobeats legend has remained a dominant force in global music for over a decade.

Wizkid’s ability to evolve with trends, maintain a loyal fan base, and keep his brand elite has made him a blueprint for success in Afrobeats.

Many observers note that even during quiet periods, Wizkid manages to stay relevant — a sign of brand strength and strategic management.
Final Thoughts

While Geh Geh’s viral comments have divided opinions, they highlight one undeniable fact — Wizkid’s name continues to dominate discussions in Afrobeats, even when he’s not actively releasing new music.

Whether it’s through smart collaborations, brand mystery, or sheer talent, Starboy remains one step ahead — showing that in the competitive world of Nigerian music, staying on top takes more than just hits; it takes strategy, timing, and vision.

PoliticsFG Targets 2026 For Full Implementation Of Single-window Policy To Boost Nigeria by alphonsoolajide(op): 7:00am On Oct 31, 2025
FG Targets 2026 for Full Implementation of Single-Window Policy to Boost Nigerian Ports Efficiency

The Federal Government of Nigeria has intensified efforts to deploy the National Single Window (NSW) system at all major ports by 2026, in a bid to transform trade facilitation, increase efficiency, and reduce operational costs across the maritime sector. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Vice President Kashim Shettima, addressing the second meeting of the Ports and Customs Efficiency Committee at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, described the NSW initiative as a “game changer” for the country’s port operations. He explained that the system would harmonize documentation, reduce unnecessary human contact, and increase transparency in cargo clearance processes.
Efficiency Goals and Targets

Shettima revealed that the policy’s primary goal is to cut cargo clearance time to under seven days by the end of 2026, aiming to position Nigeria’s ports among the top three most efficient trade gateways in Africa.

He warned that current inefficiencies make the cost of clearing goods in Nigeria roughly 30 percent higher than in neighboring countries, discouraging investment, raising consumer prices, and reducing export competitiveness.

“Our ports record cargo dwell times 475 percent above the global average benchmark. We cannot afford to continue down this path,” Shettima stressed.

Collaboration Across Agencies

The Vice President directed agencies including the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), NAFDAC, and SON to work together in creating a weights and measures framework that ensures fair trade practices and protects consumers from fraudulent activities.

He also expressed optimism regarding the pending Executive Order on Joint Physical Inspection, awaiting approval from President Tinubu. Shettima said the order will eliminate bottlenecks, foster inter-agency collaboration, and enhance predictability and transparency in port operations.

“It marks the dawn of a new era where agencies work together and systems speak a common language,” he said.

Shettima emphasized that inter-agency rivalry must give way to collaboration, adding,

“No reform succeeds without ownership. Our efficiency depends on how well we work together.”

Calls for Accountability and Stakeholder Cooperation

Zahrah Audu, Director-General of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), highlighted how inefficient port procedures negatively impact Nigeria’s Ease of Doing Business ranking, urging stronger accountability and cooperation among stakeholders to make Nigerian ports globally competitive.

Similarly, Abubakar Dantsoho, Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, stated that synergy and partnership among agencies are essential for operational efficiency. He noted that progress is already visible through joint inspection and coordinated boarding operations.

Dantsoho stressed the importance of technology adoption, infrastructure upgrades, and human capacity development as key drivers to enhance port competitiveness and maintain Nigeria’s relevance in regional and global trade.

The Federal Government’s plan to fully implement the National Single Window by 2026 marks a critical step toward modernizing Nigeria’s maritime trade sector. By reducing cargo dwell time, cutting costs, and ensuring transparency, the initiative has the potential to position Nigeria as a leading trade hub in Africa. However, its success will rely heavily on inter-agency collaboration, accountability, and effective adoption of technology across all ports.

Romance“i’ve Slept With Over 500 Women And Once Had 7 At The Same Time” — U.S. Adult St by alphonsoolajide(op): 6:51am On Oct 31, 2025
“I’ve Slept With Over 500 Women and Once Had 7 at the Same Time” — U.S. Adult Star King Nasir Opens Up on Career and Nigerian Crush

American adult film actor and social media personality King Nasir has made headlines after revealing staggering details about his personal and professional life. The entertainer disclosed that he has slept with over 500 women and once had sex with seven women simultaneously.

Nasir made the revelation during an exclusive interview with Egungun of Lagos, a popular Nigerian content creator and influencer known for his viral street interviews with celebrities and public figures. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
Speaking on Fame, Career, and Lifestyle

During the interview, King Nasir opened up about his journey in the adult entertainment industry, his experiences, and the realities of his unconventional career.

He described his profession as both “intense and enjoyable,” adding that his line of work often draws criticism but also comes with fame, freedom, and confidence.

“My body count is probably over 500 ladies. I really don’t keep count, to be honest, but I know it’s a lot,” Nasir admitted during the chat.

The actor, who has built a massive following on social media for his explicit content and bold personality, said that his work schedule largely depends on his location and availability of partners.

“I film as often as possible. It depends on where I am and how many women are available,” he explained.

His Crush on Nigerian Singer Tems

One of the more interesting revelations from the interview came when King Nasir spoke about his admiration for Nigerian Grammy-winning artist Tems.

According to him, his interest in Tems goes beyond mere attraction or film-related curiosity — he has a genuine admiration for her.

“My female crush in Nigeria is Tems. If she gives me the chance, I’m down — film or no film. It’s about whatever she wants to do,” he said.

The statement has since stirred reactions online, with many Nigerian fans commenting on the cultural clash between Nasir’s adult film persona and Tems’ reserved, soulful public image.
“I’ve Slept With Seven Women at the Same Time”

Further into the interview, King Nasir revealed that one of his most unforgettable experiences was fulfilling a fantasy he had always envisioned.

“I have slept with seven girls together before. It was my vision at one point to be a porn star, and I guess I’m in it right now,” he confessed with a smile.

The actor said he takes pride in achieving what he once dreamed of, explaining that the adult film industry has allowed him to live out fantasies that many people only imagine.
How He Maintains His Strength and Energy

When asked how he manages to maintain stamina despite the demands of his career, King Nasir attributed his endurance to physical fitness and discipline.

“The source of my strength is working out. I work out a lot,” he shared.

He emphasized that his consistent gym routine helps him stay active and confident, both on and off camera.
His Thoughts on Nigerian Women

Nasir also praised Nigerian women, describing them as confident, expressive, and daring.

“Nigerian women are bad — I won’t even lie. They run after me; they want me sexually,” he said, laughing.

His remarks reflect the growing influence of Nigerian pop culture globally, as more entertainers, influencers, and foreign celebrities express fascination with Nigerian women, music, and lifestyle.
“People Judge Me, But I Don’t Care”

Despite the moral criticism surrounding his profession, King Nasir said he has learned to live unapologetically.

“I get judged a lot, but I still do what I do anyway. There’s not enough judgment in the world to stop me,” he concluded.

His boldness, confidence, and charisma have continued to attract both controversy and admiration across social media platforms, solidifying his image as one of the most outspoken figures in the adult entertainment space

King Nasir’s interview with Egungun of Lagos sheds light on the unfiltered lifestyle of adult entertainers and the cultural intersections between global entertainment industries.

While his revelations have sparked online debates, they also highlight his confidence and refusal to conform to societal expectations.

As social media continues to blur the lines between fame and morality, King Nasir’s candidness serves as a reflection of today’s entertainment culture — bold, controversial, and unapologetically transparent.

Christianity EtcPastor Adeboye Declares Global Prayer Session For Singles And Waiting Mothers by alphonsoolajide(op): 6:44am On Oct 31, 2025
Pastor E.A. Adeboye Declares Global Prayer Session for Singles and Waiting Mothers Ahead of November Thanksgiving

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has announced a special global prayer session dedicated to unmarried youths, waiting mothers, and families trusting God for marital and fruitfulness breakthroughs.

The revered man of God made the announcement through a statement released by Pastor Oladele Balogun, the Special Assistant to the General Overseer on Administration, noting that the move was divinely inspired and designed to bring hope to millions within and beyond Nigeria. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
A Divine Call to Restore Hope and Fruitfulness

According to Pastor Adeboye, the upcoming global prayer session is aimed at addressing a pressing spiritual and social concern — the growing population of single adults and expectant families who have been waiting on God for answers in marriage and childbearing.

He revealed that statistical data shows that unmarried and mature singles now make up over 40 percent of Nigeria’s adult population, describing them as a “vibrant but waiting generation” longing for divine fulfillment.

“This group represents a generation that is full of potential and faith, yet waiting for God’s timing in marriage and family life. It is time for us as a church to stand together in prayer and intercession for them,” Adeboye stated.

Special Focus on Waiting and Expectant Mothers

Pastor Adeboye also expressed deep compassion for women and couples believing God for the fruit of the womb, describing their experience as both “spiritual and emotional.”

He emphasized that waiting on God for conception or childbirth is not merely a medical issue but a faith journey that requires continuous encouragement and divine support.

“Across the world, there are mothers and families trusting God for children. This journey is sacred, and we must uphold them in faith and prayer. God remains the Giver of life, and He will visit His people again,” Adeboye affirmed.

The RCCG, with its presence in over 190 nations, will be uniting in this global moment of intercession, demonstrating the power of collective faith and divine expectation.

Global Invitation: A Call to All Nations

The global prayer session will coincide with the RCCG November 2025 Thanksgiving Service, taking place at the church’s National Headquarters — The Throne of Grace, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

The service is scheduled for Sunday, November 2, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. (WAT). Pastor Adeboye encouraged those within Lagos and neighboring states to attend physically, while international members and virtual participants can join live via RCCG’s digital platforms.

“This will not be an ordinary prayer meeting. It will be a divine encounter — a moment of destiny for countless individuals who have waited on God. Wherever you are, connect with faith. God will answer prayers,” he declared.

A Message of Faith, Patience, and Perseverance

Adeboye’s message resonated deeply with millions of followers who regard him as one of the most influential spiritual leaders in the world. Through decades of ministry, he has continually emphasized the importance of faith, purity, and steadfast prayer as keys to unlocking divine promises.

He urged believers not to lose hope regardless of their current challenges, reminding them that God’s timing is perfect and His promises never fail.

“No matter how long you’ve waited, God has not forgotten you. The same God who visited Sarah, Hannah, and Elizabeth will surely visit you,” he assured.

Unity Through Global Intercession

The global prayer for singles and waiting mothers is expected to draw millions of participants from across continents. Many church members, pastors, and intercessory groups have already begun preparing spiritually for what they describe as a “prophetic turning point for families.”

In a world grappling with emotional isolation, delayed marriages, and fertility challenges, Adeboye’s initiative is seen as a powerful reminder that faith still moves mountains and that collective prayer can change destinies.
Conclusion

As the RCCG community and global believers prepare for this extraordinary prayer session, Pastor Adeboye’s message continues to inspire renewed faith and expectation.

Through this global call, the church reinforces its mission to heal homes, restore marriages, and bring joy to families — reminding all that in God’s presence, waiting is never in vain.

PoliticsEFCC Blames Laziness And Greed For Rising Fraud Among Nigerian Youths by alphonsoolajide(op): 6:34am On Oct 29, 2025
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has expressed deep concern over the increasing involvement of young Nigerians in fraudulent activities, attributing the troubling trend to laziness, greed, and the pursuit of quick wealth.

According to the Commission, the growing obsession with material success among the youth has continued to erode moral values and weaken the nation’s ethical foundations. The EFCC described the situation as a dangerous shift in mindset — one where many young people now prioritize luxury and fame over hard work, discipline, and integrity. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
EFCC Urges Youths to Embrace Integrity and Hard Work

The Commission’s Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, made the remarks during an orientation and sensitisation programme held for new students of the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), Nigerian Air Force, Mando, Kaduna, for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Represented by Chief Superintendent Nana Fatima Abubakar from the EFCC Public Affairs Department in Kaduna, Olukoyede delivered a lecture titled “Dangers of Cybercrime.”

He urged Nigerian youths to shun the temptation of quick riches through illegal means and instead build their future on honesty, dedication, and resilience.

“There is no shortcut to wealth,” Olukoyede emphasized.
“True success is earned through hard work, perseverance, and integrity. The urge to get rich overnight has destroyed many promising lives.”

He further warned that cybercrime and other forms of financial fraud not only attract criminal prosecution but also lead to loss of freedom, damaged reputation, depression, and even untimely death.9

The Dangers of Quick Wealth Mentality

The EFCC boss lamented that a disturbing number of young Nigerians now regard internet fraud — popularly known as “Yahoo Yahoo” — as an easy path to success. He noted that this mindset is being fueled by social media influencers and peer groups that glorify extravagant lifestyles without revealing the dark side of such pursuits.

According to him, “The constant display of luxury cars, designer clothes, and foreign trips online has created unrealistic expectations among youths, who now believe crime is the only way to achieve success.”

Olukoyede called on students to resist peer pressure and channel their creativity toward legitimate ventures such as digital entrepreneurship, software development, and innovation, adding that the same internet space used for fraud can also serve as a tool for positive impact.
Greed, Laziness, and Peer Pressure Identified as Key Drivers

Speaking further, the EFCC identified greed, laziness, lack of patriotism, and peer pressure as major factors driving young people into financial crimes.

Nana Fatima Abubakar, who represented the Chairman, explained that many of the youths arrested for cybercrime confessed to being influenced by friends who flaunted sudden wealth.

“They want to live big without putting in effort. Some even go as far as combining fraud with drug use and fetish practices. It’s a dangerous cycle of moral decay,” she said.

The Commission emphasized that education remains the strongest weapon against corruption and urged academic institutions to integrate anti-corruption and digital ethics awareness into their curriculum to guide students early.
EFCC Promotes Whistleblowing and Digital Reporting

In its ongoing effort to tackle economic crimes, the EFCC also encouraged students and the general public to play an active role by reporting suspicious activities through its Eagle Eye App.

Olukoyede assured that all reports are treated with strict confidentiality and that the identity of whistleblowers remains fully protected.

He reiterated that the Commission remains committed to safeguarding Nigeria’s image and future, but stressed that the fight against cybercrime cannot succeed without the active participation of citizens.

“Every youth has a choice to make — to build or to destroy. We urge you to choose the path of honor. Nigeria needs your creativity and innovation, not crime and corruption,” he concluded.

The EFCC’s latest warning serves as a timely reminder that while technology has opened doors to global opportunities, it has also become a tool for exploitation in the wrong hands. The Commission insists that the only sustainable route to success lies in honesty, consistency, and hard work.

Allegations of Domestic Tension and Move Out

The video surfaced shortly after multiple online reports alleged that Regina Daniels had moved out of her husband’s home following a series of unresolved marital issues. Some blogs even hinted at possible domestic disputes, suggesting that the actress left behind her two children in the care of her husband.

While neither Regina nor Ned Nwoko has publicly confirmed or denied the claims, the timing of the new video has fueled speculation among fans who have followed the couple’s relationship since their high-profile marriage in 2019.

Adding to the mystery, Regina recently made headlines for purchasing a ₦150 million mansion in Lagos, a move that many interpreted as a sign of independence. Just days after the news of her luxury property broke, the actress was captured again — this time with the mystery man — leaving many wondering if there’s more to the story.

Fans and Critics Weigh In

As expected, the video has generated a flood of mixed reactions across social media platforms. Supporters praised Regina for her elegance and confidence, while others speculated about the identity of the man seen with her.

One fan wrote:

“Regina looks happy and free. Whatever she’s going through, she deserves peace and joy.”

Another user commented:

“People should let her live. Maybe it’s just a friend or business partner. Not everything should be about marriage drama.”

However, some online commentators were less sympathetic, questioning the actress’s motives and the sudden appearance of another man in her public outings.

“This video raises questions. If she truly moved out, who’s this guy?” one user asked.

Inside Regina Daniels’ Glamorous Life

Regina Daniels, who began her acting career as a child, has grown into one of Nollywood’s most influential young stars. Over the years, she has built a solid reputation not only as an actress but also as a brand influencer, film producer, and fashion icon.

Her marriage to billionaire businessman and politician Ned Nwoko in 2019 made her a regular feature in entertainment headlines, with every aspect of their relationship under public scrutiny. Despite criticism over their significant age difference, Regina has often portrayed her marriage as blissful and supportive, frequently sharing family photos and romantic moments online.

This latest development, however, has reignited conversations about the realities of celebrity marriages and the pressures that come with fame and fortune.

A Storm or Just Social Media Speculation?

While the full story remains unclear, close sources hint that the actress has been focusing on her career, business ventures, and philanthropic activities. Some insiders believe the mystery man could be a business associate or production partner, especially considering Regina’s involvement in new film projects and brand endorsements.

Still, social media remains divided, with opinions swinging between sympathy, judgment, and curiosity. Whether this video signifies a deeper rift in her marriage or is simply another case of online exaggeration, one thing is certain — Regina Daniels continues to command attention wherever she goes.

Until the actress addresses the situation publicly, fans can only speculate about what’s really going on behind the scenes.

Held annually at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), this all-night worship event attracts millions of attendees from Nigeria and across the globe, creating an unforgettable spiritual and cultural moment in the heart of the city. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
A Night of Worship Beyond Borders

What started in 2006 as a vision by Pastor Paul Adefarasin of House On The Rock Church has grown into a global movement. The Experience brings together internationally acclaimed gospel artists such as Kirk Franklin, Travis Greene, Don Moen, Nathaniel Bassey, Sinach, Mercy Chinwo, and many others, alongside millions of passionate worshippers who gather to praise God under the open Lagos sky.

Beyond the music, The Experience symbolizes unity — cutting across denominations, tribes, and nationalities. It’s a true reflection of Lagos as a melting pot of cultures and faiths.

Economic and Cultural Impact

The concert’s impact goes beyond the spiritual. Each year, hotels, restaurants, transport operators, and local vendors in Lagos experience a significant boom. The influx of visitors boosts tourism and showcases Lagos as a city capable of hosting world-class events.

From makeup artists to sound engineers, fashion vendors to food sellers, thousands of Lagosians find temporary employment opportunities during The Experience season. Family“I Can’t Marry A Woman Whose Parents Are Alive” — Man Sparks Outrage With Contro by alphonsoolajide(op): 8:19am On Oct 25, 2025
A young man has stirred massive debate on social media after revealing a rather unusual reason why he cannot marry a woman whose parents are still alive.

The X (formerly Twitter) user, identified as @lifeofbxndz, shared his opinion in a now-viral post that has sparked widespread conversation and backlash online. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
Details of the Viral Post

In his post, @lifeofbxndz described himself as a “very simple man” but explained that he deliberately avoids relationships with women whose both parents are alive, claiming it is a matter of emotional self-protection.

The tweet read:

“I’m a very simple man. I’ve got no business being with someone who has both parents still alive. I’m not comforting you through two parental losses, I’m sorry. 🤚🏾”

According to him, having personally lost both of his parents, he doesn’t want to experience the emotional toll of supporting a partner through similar grief in the future.

Although his post was brief, the message struck a nerve across social media platforms, triggering mixed reactions from thousands of users.
Public Reactions: Outrage and Support Collide

Many netizens found his statement insensitive and selfish, accusing him of using trauma as an excuse to justify irrational relationship standards. Some argued that love should not be conditional on family status.

One user commented:

“So you won’t love a woman because her parents are alive? That’s the most emotionally immature thing I’ve heard this week.”

However, others defended his perspective, saying everyone has the right to set emotional boundaries based on personal experiences.

Another X user wrote:

“He’s just setting boundaries. Some people don’t want to relive trauma or go through certain emotional pains again. It’s not your business to judge.”

As the post continued to trend, it ignited broader conversations about how grief, loss, and personal trauma influence romantic choices in today’s society.
The Psychology Behind His Statement

Relationship experts say that while his comment may sound controversial, it reflects an underlying fear of emotional repetition — a common response among people who have experienced deep personal loss.

According to psychologist Dr. Kemi Okonjo, trauma survivors often subconsciously avoid situations that remind them of past pain, even if those decisions seem irrational to others.

“For someone who’s lost both parents, the idea of comforting another person through similar grief can be retraumatizing,” she explained. “It’s not about cruelty — it’s about self-preservation. But such fears must be handled with emotional maturity.”

Experts, however, advise that avoiding emotionally complex relationships can limit one’s ability to form deep connections, and recommend therapy or emotional support as healthier alternatives.
His Thoughts on Music and Personal Interests

Interestingly, the X user also shared a separate tweet revealing his deep passion for music — clarifying that, although he listens to a lot of songs, it’s purely for love, not financial gain.

In his words:

“Yoh, I consume a lot of music. And I’m literally just doing it for the love of the game because I don’t make a solitary cent from this obsession.”

The post didn’t specify his favorite genre or artist, but his followers interpreted it as a reflection of his creative personality and introspective side, contrasting with the controversy surrounding his earlier statement.
The Bigger Conversation: When Trauma Shapes Love

The incident has reignited online discussions about how personal trauma affects romantic preferences, compatibility, and emotional availability.

While some argue that his logic reflects a lack of empathy, others believe it’s a sign of emotional self-awareness, albeit expressed poorly.

Either way, the debate highlights the complexities of modern relationships, where social media often turns deeply personal opinions into public controversy.
Conclusion

The viral post by @lifeofbxndz may have been just a tweet, but it has sparked nationwide conversations about grief, love, and emotional boundaries.

Whether people view him as insensitive or self-aware, his statement underscores a universal truth: past pain often shapes how individuals approach future relationships.

In a digital age where personal thoughts quickly become public debates, this story shows how one tweet can expose the delicate intersection between trauma, love, and human connection.

PoliticsYemi Alade Opens Up About Depression After Discovering Her Real Age by alphonsoolajide(op): 8:02am On Oct 25, 2025
Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer and songwriter, Yemi Alade, has candidly spoken about a period of depression she experienced after realizing she had been misrepresenting her age for three years.

The award-winning Afropop star shared her story during an emotional conversation with media personality Chude Jideonwo, revealing how the incident left her struggling with self-acceptance and identity for days. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
“I Said I Was 22 for Three Years” — Yemi Alade Confesses

In the viral interview clip, Yemi Alade explained that, at one point in her early career, she repeatedly told people she was 22 years old for three consecutive years. It wasn’t until she recalculated her actual birth year that she realized she was already 25.

“I kept saying I was 22 for three years,” she said with a laugh tinged with emotion. “When I finally realized I was actually 25, I was depressed for a few days.”

The singer said the realization triggered deep reflection about time, expectations, and self-worth, especially in an industry where youth and image often shape opportunities and public perception.
The Hidden Pressure Behind Stardom

Yemi Alade’s revelation sheds light on a common but rarely discussed reality in the entertainment industry — the pressure to appear younger or fit certain beauty and age ideals.

Mental health experts say that celebrities often struggle with maintaining authenticity while navigating fame, online scrutiny, and unrealistic expectations from fans and brands.

Yemi’s openness, however, has earned her praise from fans who commend her for breaking the silence on how mental health can affect public figures.

“She’s one of the few celebrities being real about how fame affects you mentally,” one fan commented on X (formerly Twitter). “We love her honesty.”
Past Industry Conflicts and Media Blacklisting Claims

This isn’t the first time Yemi Alade has made headlines for speaking her truth. In November 2024, the “Johnny” crooner accused Cool FM Nigeria and Clout Africa FM of allegedly blocklisting her music after she declined to perform at their end-of-year concert in December 2023.

According to Yemi, the media outlets stopped playing her songs for nearly a year, even after she apologized and tried to resolve the misunderstanding.

“Even after I reached out, they didn’t lift the ban,” she said at the time. “It hurt, but I learned that sometimes doing what’s right means losing people who never supported you in the first place.”

Her claims sparked discussions about gatekeeping in the Nigerian music industry, with fans calling for greater fairness in media promotion and artist relations.
Clarifying False Rumors and Standing Her Ground

Yemi Alade has also had to confront false allegations circulated online, including rumors of sexual harassment that she firmly denied.

In a statement shared on her social media platforms, she described the false claims as “stupidity at its peak,” calling on fans to verify information before spreading damaging narratives.

“People don’t realize how much emotional pain false stories can cause,” she said. “It’s not just gossip — it’s someone’s life, reputation, and peace of mind.”

The singer has since used her platform to advocate for mental health awareness and respectful dialogue online, encouraging young fans to value self-acceptance and emotional balance over perfection.
Using Her Platform to Inspire Others

Beyond her musical success, Yemi Alade continues to share motivational reflections on social media. Her posts often focus on self-growth, boundaries in relationships, and emotional intelligence, inspiring followers across Africa and beyond.

“Conflict is part of life, but understanding and communication are key,” she wrote in one of her recent Instagram stories. “Protect your peace, even when it means walking away.”

Fans say her message resonates deeply, especially among young women navigating relationships, work, and societal pressure.

Yemi Alade’s openness about her struggle with depression and self-realization offers an authentic glimpse into the challenges behind her glamorous public image.

Her courage in discussing age, mental health, and career pressures underscores a growing shift in Nigeria’s entertainment industry — one where vulnerability and truth are beginning to replace stigma and silence.

As she continues to evolve as an artist and role model, Yemi Alade proves that even the most celebrated stars face real battles — and that healing begins with honesty.

PoliticsTragedy As Pregnant Woman, Seven Others Die In Ondo Road Crash by alphonsoolajide(op): 8:27am On Oct 23, 2025
Tragedy struck in Ondo State on Tuesday as at least eight people, including a pregnant woman, lost their lives in a ghastly road accident in Akungba-Akoko, along the Owo–Akungba–Ikare Akoko expressway.

Eyewitnesses said the accident occurred when a heavy-duty truck lost control and crashed into several roadside shops and pedestrians, leaving multiple people dead on the spot and several others critically injured. Eyes Of Lagos reports,
Truck Loses Control, Rams Into Shops

According to residents, the truck, which was heading towards Akungba from Owo, suddenly lost control while descending a slope near the town’s main market.

One eyewitness told reporters that the driver appeared unable to stop the vehicle as it veered off the highway and ploughed into makeshift shops, crushing traders and passersby.

“The driver lost control of the truck and swerved off the road into the shops,” said a local trader who narrowly escaped the accident. “We just heard a loud noise and saw the trailer coming straight at people. It was terrible — bodies were everywhere.”

Another resident explained that some people believed the barricades meant to control truck movements on that stretch had been removed before the accident.

“The trailer came from the top of the hill. Some people said the barricade had been opened, others said it was broken. The next thing, it rammed into the shops and crushed those inside,” the witness said.

Confusion and Panic at the Scene

Moments after the crash, there was pandemonium as residents and motorists rushed to the scene to rescue survivors. Many of the victims were said to be local traders conducting business along the roadside.

Videos shared on social media showed wrecked shops, crushed vehicles, and scattered goods as onlookers wailed and tried to pull victims from the debris.

Emergency responders, including personnel from the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and Nigeria Police, later arrived to evacuate the injured and recover the bodies.

An FRSC officer who spoke anonymously confirmed that eight persons died instantly, while others sustained various degrees of injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

“The accident involved a truck carrying goods from Owo to Ikare. The vehicle lost control due to brake failure and ran into the roadside stalls. Eight people, including a pregnant woman, were confirmed dead at the scene,” the officer said.

Authorities Launch Investigation

Local authorities in Akoko Southwest Local Government Area have begun investigating the cause of the accident.

Preliminary reports suggest that mechanical failure, particularly brake malfunction, might have caused the driver to lose control of the truck. Officials also cited over-speeding and poor road discipline as contributing factors.

An official of the Ondo State Ministry of Transport expressed sadness over the recurring accidents on the Akungba axis, describing it as one of the state’s most accident-prone routes.

“This is not the first time such a tragedy is happening here,” he said. “We have lost so many lives on this same slope. The government has erected barricades several times, but some drivers still violate the restrictions.”

Residents Call for Action

Heartbroken residents of Akungba-Akoko have called on the Ondo State Government to take urgent measures to prevent future tragedies.

They appealed for the construction of speed bumps, enforcement of truck route restrictions, and deployment of traffic officers to monitor heavy-duty vehicles on the Owo–Akungba–Ikare road.

“We are tired of mourning,” said one community leader. “Every few months, we lose people to the same kind of accident. The government must act before the entire town is wiped out.”

Others urged transport unions to ensure that long-distance truck drivers undergo vehicle checks before embarking on trips through hilly terrain.
Victims Identified

As of press time, the identities of all the victims had not been officially released, but locals confirmed that the deceased included a pregnant woman, two traders, and several pedestrians.

The remains of the victims were deposited at the General Hospital Mortuary in Ikare-Akoko, while security operatives cordoned off the area to prevent looting and further chaos.
Recurring Tragedy on Akungba Road

The Akungba-Akoko road has witnessed several fatal accidents over the years, often involving trucks and trailers descending from steep hills.

In 2021, a similar incident claimed over 20 lives near the Adekunle Ajasin University gate, sparking nationwide outrage and calls for stricter traffic enforcement.

Despite repeated interventions, reckless driving, overloading, and mechanical failures continue to make the highway one of the deadliest in the Southwest.

PoliticsSultan Of Sokoto Challenges Genocide Claims In Nigeria, Demands Proof From Accus by alphonsoolajide(op): 8:19am On Oct 23, 2025
“Where, Who, How?” — Sultan of Sokoto Dismisses Genocide Allegations, Demands Proof from Accusers

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has publicly dismissed claims suggesting that genocide is taking place in Nigeria. He challenged both local and international groups spreading such narratives to present credible and verifiable evidence to support their allegations. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Speaking during the Northern Traditional Rulers Assembly Meeting (Kebbi 2025) in Birnin Kebbi, the Sultan stressed that no ethnic or religious group is being systematically targeted or exterminated in the country.

He stated firmly:

“There is no genocide in Nigeria. Nobody — whether Muslim, Christian, or of any ethnic group — is being killed without the knowledge of the traditional rulers in their communities. Such claims are false and dangerous.”

“No Proof of Genocide Against Any Group”

According to the Sultan, recent accusations of genocide — particularly those circulating online and in foreign media — are not backed by facts.

He clarified that while Nigeria faces insecurity and isolated incidents of violence, no evidence supports the claim of organized extermination of any group.

“If anyone, within or outside this country, has credible evidence of genocide, let them bring it forward,” the Sultan insisted. “We are ready to investigate any genuine case, but what we see are exaggerated reports that fuel division and hatred.”

His remarks appeared to respond to ongoing discussions on social media, where some users and organizations have accused certain groups of coordinated attacks against specific communities in northern Nigeria.
Warning Against Fake News and Social Media Propaganda

The Sultan of Sokoto also addressed the growing danger of misinformation spreading through social media platforms, describing it as a major threat to national peace and security.

“Most of what people read and share on social media is not true,” he warned. “Many people spread falsehoods without verification, and that is why confusion and mistrust are growing among citizens.”

He urged Nigerians to be cautious about what they consume online, emphasizing that digital misinformation often inflames existing tensions and undermines the efforts of traditional and community leaders who work to maintain peace.
Call for Social Media Regulation

To curb the impact of fake news, the Sultan called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to adopt stronger measures to regulate the use of social media.

He noted that while freedom of expression is a fundamental right, it should not be abused to spread lies, hatred, or division.

“The government must not fold its arms while fake news tears the nation apart. Regulation does not mean censorship — it means accountability,” he said.

He added that unverified claims of genocide or ethnic cleansing can escalate conflict, incite retaliation, and damage Nigeria’s global reputation if left unchecked.
Promoting Unity Through Traditional Leadership

Beyond addressing the genocide allegations, the Sultan used the occasion to highlight the vital role of traditional rulers in fostering peace, cooperation, and understanding across communities.

He explained that the Northern Traditional Rulers Assembly serves as a platform to develop strategic solutions to insecurity and intercommunal conflicts, especially in northern states battling insurgency and banditry.

“Our role as traditional rulers is to ensure that peace returns to every community,” he said. “We must continue to collaborate with government agencies, the military, and civil society to address insecurity and promote national unity.”

The Sultan commended Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, for hosting the meeting, and expressed appreciation to the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, for participating despite his demanding schedule.
A Call for National Reflection and Prayer

In his closing remarks, Sultan Abubakar urged Nigerians of all backgrounds to focus on building bridges of trust rather than amplifying divisions.

He called on citizens to pray for the country’s leaders and remain committed to fostering peace, stability, and development.

“Let us not allow propaganda to destroy the unity that binds us as a people. Nigeria belongs to all of us — Christians, Muslims, northerners, southerners alike,” he said.

The Sultan’s strong stance has been widely praised by traditional leaders and citizens who believe his message offers a balanced perspective amid growing tensions fueled by disinformation.
