Guys, I think we shouldn't just be focusing on getting out of the country. I think we should do it strategically. Think about your employability after the program. There are many of the schools that have been mentioned here that's worse that Unilag, so whats the point of spending ticket and tuition money and going to all these dead schools?

no the bank is not going to change names ............ You either submit a bank statement with the owners name showing how much is in his personal account or submit documents verifying that he is the owner of the business and how much access he has to the money

It never a good idea to use a company account as it can be hard to prove that money in there belongs solely to the owner use

Its simple. They can't verify if your sponsor is the owner of the business account at that spot, reason they asked you to submit one showing his name. Just do as they have instructed

I used an uncle, if one has no guarantor for an apartment managed by a 'property firm' I doubt if they would issue one a space. They offer 9 or 12 month leases/contract from my experience.

'Independent apartments' e.g a building owned by an individual might accept without a guarantor. They also accept month to month payments.

What is different?

* Steady light and water, yet to see any borehole or generator here. Everywhere is calm.

* Hotter weather, sweltering heat. A/C here no be big man.

* The bum short wearing here is on a dangerous level. Chics deh wear that thing Everywhere! If you no get self control, you must enter trouble.

* Guys here wear shorts to classes and almost everywhere, so many of them.

* No public transport here. Without a personal car, trekking naim sure pass - it is worse in the bigger cities without a public transport system. Motor no be big man.

* Here, na all man for himself. If anyone renders assistance to you, abeg thank am well well.

At burger king, the issue I had when I started the job was communication. At this job, drama. Lemme explain.


If you notice, if you've paid close attention to my posts, I always tried to pick people's brains, to understand what makes them tick, to understand the mindset of the people I'd be working with, the mindset of Americans. In trying to do that, I try to strike up conversations with different people, dancing around different topics trying to get you to speak. In the first few weeks I started this job, I noticed this is a female dominated field and most of the persons whose brains I tried to pick we're ladies. In no time, news had started flying around that the new guy is a flirt, he's always talking to everybody.

Each day I come to work, I'd hear one new gist about me and what I supposedly did. I wouldn't bore you guys with the sad tales of how these people think cos most of them are way too shallow to delve into deep conversations with. They are more content with running their mouths about celebrity news and who-is-fvcking-who at the job. The few times I've tried to bring politics or current affairs or something other than tv shows and drama and superficial stuff, I get a blank stare or something close to it. With time, I minimized my conversations to strictly work related stuff and started keeping to myself.
