Politics › Re: Education Is Not Just A Social Service; It Is A Strategic Investment – Obi by ambale(m): 12:51pm On May 06, 2025 |
yarimo: And you didn't invest in education while you wasted 8 years as governor of anambra state, alcohol was your only investment in anambra state and it's next to nothing according SOLUDO So we should celebrate that over 70% failed examinations? Is he even attacking the president here? This is absolutely unacceptable and people like you should not be seen wherever humans are |
Politics › Re: Education Is Not Just A Social Service; It Is A Strategic Investment – Obi by ambale(m): 12:50pm On May 06, 2025 |
CoronaVirusPro: Exactly!
His strategic investment in Anambra State University can be seen by all.
Clown!
Same with Lagos state! Huge debts, IGR and FG allocation, but it’s state university slightly better than a cattle ranch. Primary education is even a no go AREA.
Majority of Nigerians are still not wise. They still fall for all the sweet talks on these politicians. Ask them were they implemented such vision while in power and you will start hearing stories.
No state Governor or President in the last 50 years has strategically invested in education. None! But should we not find a lasting solution to this? We are breeding a generation that sees learning as outdated and we are happy and attacking a man that has seen life I wondered how Nigeria will look like in years to come sef |

Politics › Re: Nearly 40% Of Nigerians Lack Access To Electricity –World Bank by ambale(m): 10:08am On May 06, 2025 |
nairalanda1: Yeah, from the report : Solving the liquidity crunch in the power sector...see below. Recievable income
Also, keep in mind that tarrifs are not cost reflective. Let's get the fact straight here, both of us are Nigerians We know the problem here but always love to sugarcoat things The discos also know all of these More than half of those who are using electricity currently do not receive Billings and yet their staffs receives money from this same houses. So if they can't checkmate the corruption aided by their staffs, how can we be sure that they would deliver when this tariffs get increased again |
Politics › Re: Nearly 40% Of Nigerians Lack Access To Electricity –World Bank by ambale(m): 9:40am On May 06, 2025 |
nairalanda1: Many Nigerians are already not paying for power used in the name of poverty...so the sector loses money and cannot make the improvements we all want. Well I don't want to believe this sha What's the percentage of those paying and those not paying? We should be working with stats not just assumptions Do you know it's even a crime to pay for services not rendered? |
Politics › Re: Nearly 40% Of Nigerians Lack Access To Electricity –World Bank by ambale(m): 10:39pm On May 05, 2025 |
nairalanda1: Yeah and to bring electricity to everyone in the nation....we need to generate 88000 mw. At least.
To bring 24 hours electricity to those currently connected to the national grid? We need to generate 33000 mw.
To pay for all that...we need N14 -15 trillion yearly for about ten years tops.
Yeah, and when some of us say we should pay cost reflective tarrifs, so that the sector can make the profit that would make investors consider investing in it, meaning that government won't have to pay anything....or take loans to pay for anything....we are called agberos, and APC supporters and tinubu supproters.
Yes, we say that a business should be allowed to set its prices, and consumers should pay those prices, and that means I support APC.

And tomorrow, some of them will shout that APC is a socialist party. How can a socialist party be encouraging capitalism?
The above is how we are going to generate enough power to guarantee access for everyone. The other alternatives is
1. We take loans of 20 trillion a year to pay for improvements
2. We just accept things as they are since we are poor.
And before you start
1. NO, I did not say corruption is not present, we got to fight that...and that can be achieved by ending subsides, and allowing cost reflectrive tarrifs to be charged.
Once that happens, corruption will fall. It won't vanish, but any corruption would harm profits, and would not be tolerated in such a scenairo.
Or how come NITEL had a lot of corruption, while MTN and Airtel don't.? COst reflective tarrifs.
2. NO, I did not say that we should not meter anyone. We all need meters. But the only way we can stop estimated billing is by allowing a cost reflective tarrif...which would let metering make sense, since companies would not need to rip off consumers to survive.
Estimated billing happens because if it did not, all the discos and gencos would have collapsed since. It is a ripoff forced upon them by price controls and poor subsidy payments So are you saying Nigerians won't pay for the services given? FYI, many Nigerians are currently going off the grid, and yet the remaining ones still don't get value for their money |

He raised a very important issues that has been on deliberations among parents and even the society.
I've seen more than five posts against the timing and I'm also against the timing cos at this point, major parts of the country sef don't get to start working till around 7am that you start hearing voices
So why should kids be asked to leave home by 5:30am to a strange location for an accreditation or exams?
