72 Most Popular Gen Z Slang Words of 2026 👀 Rizz, Delulu, Skibidi and the Internet Language Everyone Suddenly Understands One thing I’ve noticed lately is that Gen Z slang changes almost every week. You open TikTok, scroll through Instagram comments, or watch a random livestream, and suddenly everyone is saying words like “rizz,” “delulu,” “aura farming,” or “skibidi” like they have existed forever. Meanwhile, half the internet is quietly pretending they know what those words actually mean. That is exactly why this new guide breaks down the 72 most popular Gen Z slang words of 2026 in a way that actually makes sense. Some of these slang terms are hilarious. Some are chaotic. Some sound completely made up until you hear them used five times in one day. And honestly, a few of them secretly say a lot about internet culture right now. You will discover viral slang like: • Rizz → the ability to charm or flirt naturally • Delulu → being delusional in a funny or overly hopeful way • Skibidi → internet chaos that somehow became a global meme • Aura farming → trying too hard to look cool online • Crash out → completely losing emotional control • Locked in → being fully focused or obsessed with something • NPC → acting robotic or painfully repetitive • Cooked → being in trouble, exhausted, or finished And that is just the beginning. The real takeaway here is that Gen Z slang is no longer just “teen language.” These phrases now shape memes, captions, gaming culture, reaction videos, online dating conversations, and even everyday texting. Some words start as jokes and somehow end up everywhere. Others completely change meaning depending on context. That is what makes modern slang so entertaining and confusing at the same time. In my view, learning these terms feels less like memorizing vocabulary and more like decoding the internet itself. So whether you keep seeing these words online, want to understand what your friends are saying, or simply do not want to feel lost in comment sections anymore, this list makes everything easier to follow. Quick heads-up though: once you learn what these slang words mean, you will start noticing them absolutely everywhere. And yes… someone is definitely going to call something “skibidi” today. If you’ve ever vibed at an Owambe, scrolled through Naija Twitter, or just tried to survive Lagos traffic, you know our slang is a whole different level. I’ve spent years soaking up Pidgin and street talk, and here are the first 25 slangs you absolutely must have in your arsenal to sound like a true Omo Naija: 1. How You Dey? The laid-back Naija “How are you?” Reply “I dey fine,” and you’re in. 2. Abeg “Please” or “Stop that nonsense!” depending on your tone. 3. Wahala Trouble, drama, chaos. (Hint: “Wahala no dey finish.”) 4. Oga “Boss”, often used sarcastically when someone’s acting all high-and-mighty. 5. Na So? The perfect “Really?” or “Is that so?” with a healthy dose of side-eye. 6. Japa To emigrate. “She don japa!” = She’s left for greener pastures. 7. Ginger Get hyped! “Ginger yourself for that interview.” 8. Vawulence Chaotic energy, think a Twitter feud gone wild. 9. E Choke! Dramatic reaction to anything overwhelming, good or bad. 10. Famzing Acting overly familiar for clout. (We all know that one person…) 11. Ajebutter The soft, sheltered cousin who can’t handle a little rain. 12. Mugu A gullible person, watch out for those “Nigerian Prince” emails! 13. Olodo A roast for someone who failed at schoolwork. 14. Werey Crazy (in a fun way). Use with close friends only! 15. Ashawo Joking slang for someone promiscuous, context is everything. 16. Zobo Beyond the drink: anything intense or tangy. 17. Swallow Not the bird, fufu, eba, amala… the staple part of every meal. 18. Pepper Dem Gang (PDG) Flexing so hard you make people jealous. 19. Akara “That exam na akara”, meaning it was a piece of cake. 20. Shakara Show-off behavior. “Stop your shakara!” 21. Pressing Matters A polite code for sliding into DMs. 22. Odogwu Igbo for legend or boss. “You na real odogwu!” 23. Bae/Bebi Sweet talk for your boo. Cheesy, but we love it. 24. Side Chic/Guy The classic soap-opera secret lover. 25. God When? The viral plea for love, success, or just a break, often paired with sunset selfies. Over to You! Which of these slangs is your favourite? Got any fresh top Naija slangs we missed? Kavod:Nearly every bold claim you put up here is false: 1. Semitic peoples have always been phenotypically diverse. 2. Jewish identity spans all racial and ethnic backgrounds. 3. Zionism is a Jewish nationalist movement, not a “Luciferian” sect. 4. Renaissance art reflects its creators’ contexts, no secret “true” images have been destroyed. Source: chatgpt |

Holluwhakemmy:Remove wasn't that... it's not totally fruitful ni... See, with the pace of developmental projects that adeleke has embarked on in osun, even the 8 years on well embezzled terms of Aregbesola won't stand the chance... |
press9jatv:Lol. I wonder why you people like deceiving yourselves like this. Take it from me, if 4 of Aregbesola and Babayemi and others should decamp from PDP to APC, comes next election, Adeleke would still win... His less than 2 years in office is far better than the 4 yrs tenure of Oyetola... |

I'm currently working on, tomatoes, okro, maize, ewedu, efo and plantain. mixed farming on my two plots of land. |
Following |
After careful reading and studying of pepper and tomatoes farmers write up here on nairaland, I decided to give it a try by turning my 2 plots of land to good use. Here's my encounter. The seeds I bought seemed to be mixed with vegetable (efo Tete), and they are obstructing the growth of the peppers and tomatoes. But as I tried to uproot the veges, it is affecting the pepper seedlings as well. What do you suggest I do, should I leave them to grow up together until I transplant the peppers, or what should I do? 2. I noticed this green grasshoppers, and they are increasing on daily basis. How do I go about this. 3. The seedlings are still very tender and about 1inch or less in size. Should I expose them to sunlight at this stage? 4. What other healthy practices should I employ. Thanks

My tomatoes and pepper seedlings are coming up already, but I noticed weeds and efo tete are also growing even faster than my seedlings. How do I get rid of these weeds without harming the seedlings. |
Hello, I have decided to try out pepper farming on my just secured 2plots of land. I want to ask, is it not too late to start the pepper nursery early March? |
