mrkenth:Congrats!!! New year gift from God! |
Happy New year my forum family!! May 2020 favour our vision! |
BloodyMitch:First i would like to welcome you to the Bournemouth family in this forum. When i applied for my visa i simply stated i would be staying in the schools Accomodation. But i planned to answer if asked, that on arrival i would be staying in am Hotel first as i woukd love to see the school Accomodation before paying. But i wasn't asked. I still got my visa! Some of the school Accomodation is Dorchester , chisel house etc. But honestly since you have already booked a private apartment you can still use it. Besides you can defend it if asked, but this question is not always asked. |
BelleQ:Another good news. Congratulations Welcome onboard!! Happy new year! |
Abiscoco:Congratulations Abiscoco d coco! Welcome onboard!! Happy new year! |
Good day guys. I wld be leaving for UK in 2weeks time say on the 11th Jan. Please what medium of changing Naira to pounds would be a best option for me. I wld love to change 300k naira to pounds in cash so i can hold first. Someone said i should change to Dollars since its more stable than the pounds to naira. That when i get there i could change it to pounds in UK. I also learnt i cld use my master card to witdraw in an Atm in UK but am scared of the charges. I also learnt i could do this in Bank but i want to understand better how to go about it. Also am in Abuja should incase there is where is best option to get a fair exchange rate. Thanks Gurus! |

Royalejr:Lucky Man! |
I think Turkish Air is better option for me than Egypt Air and Etihad because of the less layover. The difference is just 32,000
|
What i found on Kayak! Etihad is 181,000 naira while turkish is 214,200. Etihad is cheapest so far though managed by Egypt air, they are stopping over at Cairo then UAE before London next day. Can i book on the flights site or i book via Kayak/kiwi. Is it cheaper there or its same thing?
|

Nawa o! Wish we had our own Air line! |
Royalejr:Thank you so much Bro. The funny thing is that Egypt air seems cheaper so far. 182k on 9th January. But thank you for this revelation |
Good evening guys, please what site can i find cheap flights from Abuja to London. Am going to Bournemouth England. I intend leaving between 6-9th Jan. How cheaper and better is it over using agents. I hv a frnd who does it. But i want to explore my option. My planned budget is between 180-190k flights. Seen things around that price but more of 200/300k. So i really wish to get the cheapest flight to uk latest 10th Jan. Thanks guys |
Royalejr:My G!!! My Bournemouth Bross! Thank you so much! God wld do ur own too sir! |
I received a mail from TLS an hour ago that my passport is ready! I rushed down to TLS office here in Abuja. Picked it up! VISA GRANTED!!! timeline: Got admission and CAS from Bounemouth University. Applied for Visa on 26th Nov! Biometrics and Interview on 27th Dec! Earlier today i called UKVI and they confirmed a descision has been taken already. In an hour time Tls mail came in. Passport collected 1:20pm.! I used Standard. Visa was granted even after having Two student Visa refusals from Australia this year (Feb and August). God is wonderful!!!! I dedicate this to him. Thank you guys. This forum is just so helpful and blessed. For those waiting for their Visa, may it be granted for you. Amen. |

They charge like white. During the call, you would have to type out your debit card number. Then you would be debited, on confirmation then your call linked to an available person in the office. You would only be charged when the call is linked. Also note that aside payment via ur debit card, Ur still gonna be charged via airtime, standard call rate applied. |
Good day everyone. I applied on 27th Nov, and today is the 16th day for Standard application. I just called UKVI and they said a descision has been made already. Please i want to know how long it usually takes for the passport to be available for pick up at TLS after descision has been made. Though i tried tracking it earlier and it has not shown to have been sent to VAC yet. Can a passport be ready for collection even without a mail or Track. I live close to TLS here in Abuja but i still dont want to rush in there without proper calculation or estimate. Lol |
Jada2019:NO!!! |
iamfelixy:UKVI use Oanda to convert currencies. As at today it is 481 naira to a pound. |
On an average, this morning it is 481 naira to a British pound. While the max for today is 487 naira to GBP. Hmmm this is serious.
|
Ogerowland:It is £11385 (#5,476,185 naira) if studying in london and £9135 (#4,393,935 naira) if studying outside london. Please remember this is only your living expenses, tuition fee balance has not been added to it. As of this morning 1 pound is 481 naira. I converted to naira with Oanda the official UKVI exchange channel. Meanwhile always use Oanda to check the exchange rate, Thats what UKVI use. But to be on a safer side, you can use 1 pound to 500 naira, so weather there are rise and fall flunctuations, you are on a safer side any moment. |
Josephalex:Yes. I know of a friend who did foundation and his first degree in Coventry UK. He returned recently and applied for an Msc in Febuary but was denied even after using Super Priority. Reason: While the money was in his mothers account for 28 days, there was a day she made a little transaction from the account which slightly affected the required amount, even after she replaced it almost immediately, UKVI noticed the almost non-significant tranzaction in the statement and refused him visa based on that. One sure thing is, within that 28days, the required money is not supposed to drop, even if its 1000 naira or 1kobo withdrawn. Note: Before using Super priority one should make sure the 28days bank statement is flawless. These and some other reasons could affect a super priority applicant. |
OlaLiberty:Learnt you said your CAS was sent to you as a mail with no attachment or pdf of the CAS document. So was mine for Bounemouth University, they stated they have sent the copy to Home affairs. In my case the agency said i shld print out the page from the CAS mail and upload it. Just copy everything, the informations contained in the mail and print out. Also upload your 28 days bank statement. Then you good to go. |
Below is an excerpt of what is written about their Msc IT: "Whether you have some experience but no formal qualification in Information Technology, or have a first degree in a subject other than Information Technology, this distinctive programme allows graduates without IT qualifications the chance to enter the business computing profession. As a graduate from this course you'll understand IT from a business perspective, be able to create a systems view of business system development, as well as being able to implement systems. For many organisations their software infrastructure actually forms a core part of their business function so it is vital that those developing software systems understand how the business process and strategy shape the development of IT applications. The Information Technology programme exposes graduates to all of these aspects of modern business systems. Instead of focussing on traditional software development, greater emphasis is given to the development of business systems such as web systems and database systems. The placement option on this degree is an excellent opportunity for you to gain first-hand industry experience. Companies that have taken our Computing students include IBM, Barclays Bank, Lockheed Martin, Sun Microsystems, United Advertising, Hewlett-Packard and British Aerospace. Potential Job Roles: As an MSc Information Technology graduate, you will be prepared to undertake roles such as: IT Manager Web Developer Database Designer Software Developer Usability Engineer"

state Of Dillema! Hello good evening Guys. I applied for msc on Organizational Project Management and was admitted and i have gotten my CAS and have applied for Visa, which wld be ready next week. But now i just discovered the Same Bounemouth University offers Msc on Information Technology and it is open to student from other academic background provided you have 2:2. It is same fees with my course and even £500 cheaper, total fee is £14000. And its 18months with additional 12months placement totalling 30 months, that is 2years and 6months duration. Though my present course is 24 months (2yrs). Project management is a nice course but "IT" is on UK job shortage list, so i think i have good chances after studies. My Agency and the school said i could switch on arrival and registration to IT and a new CAS would be issued to me. But my fear is maths and figures. Yes i am knowledgeable in opererating computer on average level but not indebth especially those data analysis, statistics web packages and designs etc. Though the course said its open to other degree background to come but i dont want to be getting lost in the class as i know more of story telling because i graduated from History and Diplomatic studies in my first degree. So please Tech guys in IT field do you think i can cope. Even though they stated the IT msc is about managing businesses through information technology. I am ready to learn provided it wld enter my head filled with hustling for money already. Lol. But honestly I am trying to weigh both Organizational project management and IT, someone said they are both new to me so its almost same kind of situation i wld go through either way. Which wld be easier or preferable? Thanks Below is the link of the msc Information Technology. https://www.bournemouth.ac.uk/study/courses/msc-information-technology |
Guys Pounds to naira is rising drastically. This is serious as it may affect fees payed from Nigeria this season. Though not sure it wld affect IHS or Visa fee, as these are currently paid via Dollar and 1 dollar is currently exchanged at 360 naira according to Oanda.
|
Royalejr:Sorry Sir. I wld do so now. |
Abiscoco:Yea i had similar situation 2weeks ago. I believe there is an increase just like in the Visa fee also. In my case i paid $1012 USD Health Surcharge for a 2years masters. That is 24 months. Everything i paid was IHS was totalling 370,000 naira then for the Visa i paid $470 USD (171,000 naira) but my friend who left for the UK in September paid 158,000 naira. It thus increased.

akinbo3:Wow! In my case i paid $1012 USD Health Surcharge for a 2years masters. That is 24 months. I paid 2 weeks ago. Everything i paid was totalling 370,000 naira.
