The verification is to be done in nine centers across the country. While speaking to newsmen on the heels of the threat to public property by aggrieved union members and ex-workers of PHCN, the Chief of Staff to the Minister of Power, Professor Chidi Onyia said that Nigerians deserve to have adequate information in order to have informed position of the issues involved. He said the Committee put in place by the BPE and which also have representations from the Ministry and Office of the Accountant General has diligently handled all issues pertaining to verification and had drawn up a check-list for all beneficiaries to bring to the various designated centers, upon which they are to be paid. He said Mr. President has demonstrated a clear understanding of the nation’s labour law which informed his directives to the handlers of severance package to be diligent in the validation processes; adding that Government does not want to pay ghost workers but only the right people. He said so far, a whopping N372 billion has already been paid out to disengaged PHCN workers; stressing that Government has always treated its workers with utmost dignity and respect. It would be recalled that with the privatization of the Generation and Distribution Sub-sectors, a total of 47,000 disengaged workers of the defunct PHCN are on the list of persons to be paid by the BPE. Professor Onyia said that record shows that 45,000 persons have been paid, with another 1,669 beneficiaries cleared, thus remaining less than 1,000 workers who are yet to be verified. "They would be paid at 9 designated centers across the country beginning from 26th January to 6th February, 2015 Source: http://nigeriacurrentaffairs1..in/2015/01/report-from-ministry-of-power-abuja.html#more |

The success of any election is determined largely by the credibility of the Register of voters used and the professional ethic for Election Stakeholders. Who are the Elections Stakeholders The involve the following personnel: *Elections Officials *Political Party Agents *Security Agents *Accredited Observers *Prospective Electorate As an election stakeholders, you are playing an important role in the electoral process the manner in which you discharge your duties will affect the confidence of the citizens in the electoral process and the electoral authority (INEC). The key responsibility of electoral officials is to be polite and helpful at all times. Treat all persons, equally and with respect. It is your responsibility to vote into the government the best candidate of your choice that can make a change or difference. As an electorate you must not allow your self to be use as a catalyse for election destruction by politician due to the following Reasons: 1. Nigeria is the only country you have, if in any circumstances post elections crisis occur you have no any other country to run too. 2.post elections crisis is bad to the development of any nation growth 3.engaging in post election violent will not help you in any ways rather create poverty and lawliness, making daily activities poor So therefore my fellow Nigerians Vote wisely, stay peaceful let who wins take the day, avoid violence. Forward Nigeria backward never. #ambi25 Source: http://nigeriacurrentaffairs1..in/2015/01/how-to-avoid-post-elections-violence-in.html#more |

https://www.informationng.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/nysc-coppers-kidnap.jpg The safety of the life of a corps member is of paramount concern to the Nigeria Nation. This is because the ultimate success of the corps member as a catalyst for unity and social development is inexorably linked to his being alive. So, as we move into an election period it's important i communicate with Corps members as their contributions in participation in elections is of great help to the Nation at this period. It is not going to be an easy task especially for the new corps members but it worth more to be part of the excercise. The foundamental of a successful service year is the orientation course programme. Followed by other vital activities that comes a while if as a corps member you are lucky to be in service during this period, activivities such as engaging in elections process. So what does it take Corps Members to be focused during elections? * Make up your mind to adapt, submit to and obey all the Election rules and regulations spelt out by INEC * Determine to persevere, be painstaking and diligent * Be ready to move to remote areas and stay for a day for elections exercise * Endeavour, as a matter of compulsion, to carefully read and study all printed matters issued. * In group where possible or individually, the corp members should aclimatise with the traditional ruler, local government chairman, distric police officer, sss, civil defence corps unit etc. These are the key players in the security of the community during elections you may also check out the professional ethics for election officials coming soon.
