Business / Insurance Sector The Next Honey Pot by ambjnr(m): 11:17am On Jan 25, 2008
Just as has happened (and is still happening) to the Nigerian banking sector, the Nigerian insurance industry appears to be on the threshold of a momentous change. How it pans out is yet to be seen, but if you consider that Nigeria is grossly under-insured, the potential for growth would seem enormous. Market resistance to insurance is still very strong, granted, but it's not difficult to see that the right combination of customer-focused practices, well-crafted products, effective marketing and a few other well-targeted strategies can see the insurance market quickly expanding. Given the additional resources that have gone into the sector lately, the operators really have no choice but bring about positive change. There is better funding at their disposal and there is the imperative of generating reasonable returns to reward investors. All said, it is an industry that is challenged by circumstances to uplift itself.

That point of change is of strategic importance to us as investors. Major changes can redefine the prospects of a company or industry, with major implications for investment. That fact is clearly captured in the Investor's Business Daily's 'CANSLIM' model for finding great performing stocks. For 'N', which is about 'new', it says: "Explosive stock growth doesn't happen in a vacuum. Usually, new products, new services, new management or new industry conditions propel stocks to new heights." What it simply says is that when major changes are taking place, serious investors should watch and weigh. Of course, nothing counts for any gain if no action ensues. So, investment decisions should be taken when and where appropriate.

Changes as we expect for the Nigerian insurance sector call for such close appraisal. Here's why:

* The Nigerian insurance market is potentially huge, but is almost totally untapped.
* Packaging insurance products to appeal to potential customers is feasible and only needs creativity on the part of the operators.
* The insurance industry has just consolidated, shedding weaker players and reinforcing stronger ones.
* More capital inflow, as achieved through recapitalisation, has created a better environment to attract the human and technological resources that can bring transformation.
* Ownership change has, in some cases, brought in more focused institutional and other key investors that can drive improved performance.
* Most insurance stocks are still in the 'penny' range, meaning that the potential for substantial capital growth is relatively high.
* Insurance regulation is bound to follow the cue in banking and capital market areas and get more dynamic. Practices should improve, raising the profile of the business and improving market performance.

Taking Position
Picking the right clues early and timing stock investment decisions properly is at the root of stock investing success. There are transaction volume indicators today that show that some (discerning?) investors are strongly moving into insurance stocks, obviously taking position. The individual stocks are also picking significant price gains that prove their growing attraction in the eyes of the market. Whether you wait to be very sure of the direction of the industry or choose to take an early position will be your decision, though you must appreciate that some risk-taking is a healthy part of investment success. What can be said is that, unless an unexpected stultification occurs, that industry should have grown significantly a few years from now. It won't surprise us if some of today's N2/N3 insurance stocks have risen a few fold. That won't happen overnight, but given some time, a good investment will prove itself.

The Wheat from the Chaff
While industry growth is predicted, it can't be said that all insurance stocks will perform equally, over time. There will be leaders and laggards. Poor performers won't be ruled out. Sorting the wheat from the chaff is the crux of the challenge. This is the time to start digging for information on the approved insurance companies and in particular, the listed ones.

@knowall you sound as if you are a good forecaster and manage peoles money in soccer betting.I have some questions for you
About guaranteed matches, how do you know them?
secondly you know when clubs like chelsea is playing home, the odd is very little so winning will fetch you little money while when you loose it will be big sraw on your account. And one lost bet can take upto 4 win bets to make the money you lost back.so how do you handle such situation?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Football Bets Of The Week by ambjnr(m): 6:48pm On Aug 29, 2007

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Football Bets Of The Week by ambjnr(m): 6:07pm On Aug 22, 2007
so whats your draw tip for this week.hope it doesnt fail cos im gonna stake good money on it
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Football Bets Of The Week by ambjnr(m): 3:25pm On Aug 21, 2007
@akinlabi i'm sorry i didnt really break down what i had in mind.
In nigeria today people stake on football matches in pool offices but they only stake on draws while actually one can stake on other possibilities in a match but these other stakes can be done online or overseas only.
In nigeria the rule is that you have to bet which means you provide 3 matches that its outcome will be draw. and if the matches end in draws ,you win some good money and if not,you loose the money you staked.
but i have realized that online, you can only stake on one draw out of 49 matches played during the weekend and still make good money when you win.
So im suggesting that we all put hands together and find out how we can get a match that will end up in draw every weekend and bet on it.
From the calcualtion i did,i found out that most times when one bet on draw of most matches,a win often yields more than 200% of the staked amount and if one stakes $10 each week, when he wins,he will get $20 and above anytime he wins.
but owing to the fact that no one is perfect in prediction,i now assumed that a good forecaster can atleast win 2 weeks in a month out of 4 weeks.and if it is so,the person going by the fact the fact that he gets 200% anytime he wins and losses 100% anytime he losses, the 2 weeks he won will yield 400% return and the 2 weeks he losted will cost him 200% leaving him with 200% profit for the month.
So i think what we need now is how to make a prediction on a draw that will win atleast 2 times in a month.
So i think if we all come together we can solve this.i know some guys can be very good in forecasting just a draw out of 49 matches. We can even meet with people that are good in draw forecasting.
As for the double chance idea,i got the idea in this site http://www.kapstpro.bravehost.com/
I qwill like to know what you guys think about this
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Football Bets Of The Week by ambjnr(m): 6:20pm On Aug 18, 2007
hello guys,i was thinking instead of guessing and betting lets pull together and work out something about staking on soccer.lets see how we can be making predictions accurately even if it is on one match alone.we can still take advantage of the double chance option where we predict 2 out of the 3 possible outcomes.
what do u guys have to say about this.lets make money with football.
in nigerian pools people strife to get 3/3 b4 they win money bt online, with 1 number even 1/2,u make cool cash.

Crime / Re: Vedanix Fraud Update! Revealed: THE MASTERMIND BEHIND THE SCAM! by ambjnr(m): 1:28pm On Oct 06, 2006
nairalanders pls hear me out and judge
sometime in september i asked goldnairaexchange to fund my e-gold account and exactly on 1-9-2006,they funded it.and since then i have funded my e-gold through other e-gold funders severally because they offered cheaper prices.
and some weeks ago when i heared of vedanix,i thought it wise to go into the business of buying from vedanix and selling to goldnairaexchange.so i mailed goldnairaexchange concerning the ideal of selling e-gold to them on a daily basis.as at the time i sent them mail,i planned buying from vedanix but the money i was expecting to use and buy from vedanix did not come.
after the mail, goldnairaexchange called me (my personal mobile phone) concerning the offer i made to them i asked them to chill and they did called me twice again concerning the offer.
so on trying to fund from vedanix last friday, they sent me cyberconsults bank details.
and on seeing the bank details,i recognised the fact that i have done business with cy ber consults before.so i just saw it that vedanix might be a division of cyberconsults so i pad into the account that was provided.
and to make my intention that my buying from vedanix was solely to sell to goldnairaexchange,on that same friday,i contacted goldnairaexchhange with my contact details con cerning the ideal of selling 770 dollars of e-gold to them(ie 700*135=94500 which is the money i paid for purchasing e-gold)goldnairaexchange on getting my mail concerning selling to them and at the same time getting a call as they said concerning a money paid into their account to fund an e-gold,should have at least called me since they have my personal phone number or mail me before funding the e-gold.
so all i am saying is that i shouldnt be blame for what happened and that goldnairaexchange saying that the whole thing did not concern them because i have done business with them before is not.
i think they are so muchly involved just as i am.
so pls nairalanders, pls look into this matter and tell me how to get my money.
