Phones / Re: My Experience With Etisalat by amblors(m): 12:03pm On Sep 12, 2012
Lord_Reed: I too was suckered by Etisalat this same way, uncancellable BIS subscription. Mine was cancelled by one of their CS people after I had tried to do it myself for over a week. Funny thing is up till now I get text messages saying my BIS subscription has expired. I just laugh and I have not loaded the line ever since.

That's an odd one, they really do have a bad system then.
Phones / My Experience With Etisalat by amblors(m): 7:27am On Sep 12, 2012
MTN service has been so wack in the past months I decided to give etisalat a try, mainly because they also offer unlimited data n have beta 3G service @ my location.

I subscribed to the N100 daily plan twice, the first time I experienced deductions from my account, prob from the browser using wap transport (detailed in anoda thread)

Admittedly the service is faster than MTN's, mayb courtesy of few pple using their network rite now.

The third time I tried the daily plan, I found out I couldn't cancel the plan after expiration. Visited one of thia mobile centres, the guy there couldn't cancel it.
And once u load money on ur account, the bis amount is automatically deducted.

I tried calling their customer service, iv tried just once, and for 40mins no one picked (mtn's service way beta than this n I tot it was bad). I'm not the only1 complaining abt the CS, a couple of pple in the mobile unit voiced same complaint. The agent there tried calling CS himself n no one picked up.

Considering my experience with calling, I chose to email instead, and that's wot I've been using with em.
I was told via email that I need N100 for the BIS and an extra N100 to cancel my bis subscription.

Is this how the network operates? Or that particular agent was wrong?

Can u cancel the N1500 n N3000 subscriptions after expiry?

Has your experience with their customer care been nice?

Phones / Re: Credit Deductions On Bold 9900 BIS by amblors(m): 6:40am On Sep 12, 2012
Just rechecked the apn, all entries are blank n its disabled. Browser wap push is also disabled on my browser, but I still have MDS push enabled, I rem disabling that too in the past but it didn't help
Phones / Re: Credit Deductions On Bold 9900 BIS by amblors(m): 6:38am On Sep 12, 2012
Thanks for the response, but no I'm not using the network's apn. I still believe theyr deductions from the browser using wap transport, if there's a way to stop the browser from using that I'll b glad

Phones / Credit Deductions On Bold 9900 BIS by amblors(m): 3:37pm On Sep 11, 2012
The bold 9900 browser is diff from the previous bold phones as it doesn't allow you to configure the browser as internet/wap/hotspot browser. The browser selects which transport service to use as it deems fit.

I've had N1000 deducted from my account in a particular situation when using the bold 9900 browser, my guess is that it occurred when the browser chose to use wap, this same thing occurred when I used MTN and Etisalat.

This is not exclusive to my device as I have seen anoda person with a bold 9900 that also has the same problem on MTN.

Note : when I upgraded my OS to 7.1, the deductions stopped when using my MTN line. The same cannot b said for when I use etisalat.

Question: is there anyone out there experiencing same?
Is there a fix or work around for this?

Thanks for your help

The Samsung Galaxy Pocket is an entry level Android Smartphone, goes for about 18k I think. The dual sim version of the galaxy pocket has just been announced so would take a while to be available. The Samsung Galaxy Y Duos, one a qwerty device n the other a touch screen only phone are both priced below 30k n are dual sim devices.

Thank God for the likes of Rkelly, Michael J, I respect wot they have done, music that entertains yet wit a message. How many of em do we have?
Music/Radio / Re: Singing And Rapping Which One Is More Difficult by amblors(m): 9:59am On Sep 06, 2012
If we want to separate, the writing and voicing processes, then singing is harder than rap.you have all em breath control stuff in rap. I think its utilized more in singing. So I'll give em that, but if u combine the processes : writing + voicing - rap is way more difficult. Most rappers write their own stuff. How many singers write their stuff n make sense? Most of ur western singers even with song writers backing em spit garbage, oh well

Tenderly1: rap is an immature way of singing, you dnt see matured men and women rapping. I want to read ur response to my post.

Now this is the height of lame.
Wen u say singing - I'm guessing ur referring to Rock,Pop, R&B, Soul,Country; all those genre are about love, I respect Country music most out of that lot, coz its lyric focused.
Ofcourse theyr others like Gospel etc.

I like Music that teaches, that sends a message and still Entertains, HipHop leads in that respect by miles, tell me that's immature. Wot ur so-called respectable/mature men/ladies do is sing about love. Well well. Reggae, at least the brand from Lucky Dube, Bob Marley is one rich genre too n guess wot, it's not voice focused like singing. Admittedly theyr some singers that pass messages, but I bet we can count em, hiphop mayb falling off, but its known to pass a message

Music is an art form, whether singing or rapping, I respect both forms of music, I'm inclined to say rapping. Som1 says everybody can rap, but not every1 can sing. U have bad singers as well as good ones, same goes for rapping. So the question should be - singing well n rapping well, which is more difficult. A lot of work goes into singing, but I believe much more work goes into rapping. Consider a rap lyric n that of a singer, a good rap song with mayb 3verses, with each verse prob the total num of words a singer would spread over 2/3 verses. Some rappers go into INDEPTH research, indepth bin the operative word.you have the voice factor, singing well requires a good voice, dat nature could take from u @ anytime, same doesn't apply to rap, well well, I'll pause hia

If u believe singing is more difficult, ur entitled to ur opinion, iv just laid down mine.

deleo16:
Just want to know the memory available for application on the internal memory I heard is 150mb out the 1Gb internal memory not sure?

I think that 150mb/160mb is about right, coz I rem getting the 'memory full, plz delete some items' I had the option of moving some apps to the mass storage tho, not all apps had that option.

Have u guys checked out : LG OPTIMUS L5 DUAL E615;

Its like the elder brother of : LG OPTIMUS L3 DUAL E405

It has got beta screen size and display pixels; runs ICS and mass storage of 2.6GB. Asides from these I don't see diff,

Its processor is same as the E405 dual, same graphics card too. Considering this is it possible for the E405/E400 to run ICS? Wuld there b any lag?
Phones / Re: Lg Optimus L3 E400 Users by amblors(m): 8:36am On Sep 04, 2012
How do u mean max app that can be downloaded on the phone memory, I think its got about 1GB of internal mass storage and abt 200MB for apps, not sure, u can move some apps to the mass storage though.

I got the dual sim version - E405 for 23k @ slot.

If u want the newer just announced one, its the E615 I thin', u get a bigger display on that one, but specs are about the same.
