ponana: I just discovered that blackberry bold5 or 9930 has a feature that can turn the device into a hotspot thereby making it available as a source of internet for other wifi enabled devices. I got an error after connecting it to my laptop. Is there anybody who has tried it before? Please fill me in on the how-to.
P.S: I am making use of etisalat for my BIS, i do not know if that matters.

The specs are live, the device has been unveiled n it. Looks just like the senior S3 but the similarities stop there. Its more similar to the Galaxy Advance n S2 although the S2 is beta. This device would retail for between 70 to 85k wen it launches.

According to leaked specs the GS3 mini is approx same as the Galaxy Ace 2 with the difference been the bigger display, super amoled screen, JB OS, which GA2 would get soon n some oda little features. Its rumored to retail @ €399, which IMO is very very expensive n not worth it, just get a GS2 or a Galaxy S Advance instead.

U have Galaxy note 1 n 2 , both phablets.
Galaxy Tab n Galaxy 2 10.1 n Galaxy Tab 7 inches - all tablets.

According to gsmarena, the only umts/3G band we use in this country is the 2100 band, so I'm guessing ur fone ought to work on 3G. Mayb u should select the 3G/WCMDA/UMTS option only on the device. If after doing that ur still unable to get 3G service, u should try all ur sim cards n then consult a phone doctor if all fails

Its even called the Tmobile G2 on gsmarena, so twas meant for the US market only.

I think it should read 900/2100 to work here. But as its 1700/2100, it may work on networks on naija operating on the 2100 band but def not 1700 band

The band should b on the pack of the phone or manual I'll think. You'l have to search the net for rooting procedure.

MTN,Glo n Etisalat BIS doesn't function as a hotspot, either on the 3K plans or enterprise plans.
You'll need a regular data plan to do that, so stick with ur airtel if u need that facility

It doesn't matter if both devices are compared, they came out in the same year. And specwise I agree the One X+ beats the GS3, but that's what the benchmarks are there for anyways. Galaxy Note is not a phone, call it anything else,lol

I've seen the specs n they're plenty impressive, I have doubts like, if a device like dis is gonna come out next year, why is it not the flagship device launching in january. Funny enough I was about to start this topic, tot to search first.
Contrary to wot the OP said, tablets do have sim slots, not all of em admittedly, some even have voice call n sms capability.
I'm thinking I have this very good android device, letz assume its a GS3, n den I have a laptop on steroids, why would I want say a Galaxy tab 2, that runs the same OS as my GS3, and prob the same apps.
I feel the functions of both devices are gonna overlap, with the major difference been maybe the screen sie of the tablet,which may favour reading of say pdf files.
With manufacturers making hardware suitable for both tablet n high end smartphones, ICS n Jellybean serving both hardware platforms, what's really the gain on owning a tablet when u have a highend smartphone?
