Phones / Re: MTN Tariff Is So Damn Expensive. Please Recommend A Cheap Network Tariff For Me. by amblors(m): 2:42pm On Mar 18, 2012
I hear people complain a lot about mtn. They say the 200mb cap for the BCM is too small, I used it and it seems to b a whole lot more than dat. MTN is the most consistent network in naija. @least IMO. If ur line gets cazy billing,u change it.
I use this glo infinito where u call one special numba for abt N1.20/min, duno how much the rest on-net/offnet calls are. U could take a look @ dat.

Wande coal pass dat one na.

So i've followed this discussion n i'm goin my input now:
som1 questioned the logic behind having a physical keyboard, thats so old school.
i think its drying pretty fast, n manufacturers opt for the slide keyboard instead, to give "large screen junkies" a treat.
i like a 2.4 - 2.6 inch screen so i'm fine n would always prefer a physical front facing keyboard.
Samsung,HTC have a couple of em, but BB n Nokia seem to the the major brands kipin it alive.

back to the topic:
BB v Android

devices n OS would always get compared
but for a user, wot matters first is what you want from a device:
make your choice according to you needs:

i've used a friends android a lil, when i was still using a Nokia E75, the browser on there put the browser on my Nokia to shame, n i was getting pretty frustrated by the Nokia browser,so that only infuriated me.
I used the android just for a while, and can only say the browser is superb, the OS looks very clean compared to Symbian, but then again, Nokia might hav upped its game with the new OS roll outs.

i'm sure you can do emailing on any devices, hell, my Nokia did it well, i got my mails on my device, n you don't need a special (Enterprise) subscription to get you company's emails.

but it generally acccepted the BB is a MESSAGING king, so if thats you desire you go for it

Android they say has a great App store, there's junk on there too, but also quality, if youre an APP freak thats for you, coz the BB has limited apps, a very small amount.

If you a GAMING freak, go for the Android.

if you're Mr PIN, go for BB, if you don't mind using third party chat apps like WHATSAPP, then you could as well go for the ANDROID as the app runs on most platforms.

Android generally has dismal battery life i hear, some BB fones suffer from this too, e.g. Bold 9900, but generally BB fones are betta

The BROWSING experience in the Android is better than in BB, though i could make an argument that browsing on the bold 9900 is pretty close.

DATA: the Android is a consumer, BB has good data plans in NAIJA, so if you are a heavy DATA user, BB wins, except you don't mind n have the cash to burn on ur Android.

PROCESSING SPEED: ANDROID definitely wins this. They're lots of DUAL-CORE android devices in the market with QUADCORE devices bin rumored, so if SPEED is your thing GO FOR ANDROID as the BB doesn't have a DUAL-CORE device yet.

In General Android wins, BUT
when you consider what you want from your phone, take into consideration the price of ur choice device n if it meets those needs.
you're a browsing/data consumption junkie n ur on a budget n in naija,
the blackberry should be your choice.

if you don't use the NET, you don't care for push emails n ur an app junkie - Android all the way.
Phones / Re: Qwerty Or Touchscreen Phones Which Do You Prefer? by amblors(m): 1:08pm On Mar 03, 2012
u find it very hard typing on keys? you mean keys in general? coz i'll wonder how you use your pc,
you can type on a touch keyboard yet u cant on a physical fone, or you're slower on it? haha, funny 1 indeed,
might b tru, but thats really strange.

i prefer typing with physical keys, i prefer selecting options with the touch screen, scrolling with the touchscreen is also preferable.
but i won't sacrifice the physical keys for a touch qwerty.

a mix of em wins for me.

Phones / Re: What Is The Difference Between Bb9700/9900 by amblors(m): 6:07pm On Feb 23, 2012
@OP

if you want good battery life, go for the 9700.
if you are heavy user, the battery of the bold 9900 wont last you.

i think its only in the battery division the 9700 beats the 9900.

there's also the issue of the fone bricking which the company (RIM) has admitted to.
you may want to play it safe and go for the 9700.

alternatively you could go for the torch devices that came out at about the same time as the bold 9900.
they are of same spec n i doubt they brick if overcharged.

cheers

Remix syndrome huh! I no understand em, but pple always want to capitalise on d buzzz from their hit songs. People begged for a remix from choc boiz for ARA, e no show YET. From our perspective its hearing a diff version od the song, it doesn't always work well, but wen it does, its cool. Na the dual video me no undastand @ all. Lol
Phones / Re: Nokia Oh Nokia by amblors(m): 4:44pm On Feb 08, 2012
truth is symbian is crumbling or should i say dead, just like BB OS is dying, but i think the BB OS is way better than symbian. I can use mine (E75) as an example the browser is shyte. I still rated it until i used the browser on a small android fone. the difference was clear.
On the MeeGo thingy, what you expect when the company sacks its M/D abi na CEO and plants a Microsoft ex abi na current employee as MD.
MeeGo is better than Symbian, i mean way better, got many positive reviews,
when the N9 came out on the blogs, everyone was drooling,
some people would prefer it to the iphone despite being priced in the name range.
its a pretty fone, with a delicious interface,
but sadly enuf, they had signed the agreement to use WP7. even if they hadn't signed it, it was more or less a done deal.
Lumia got a lot of buzz as i hia, but if i was into all touch fones, i'll go for N9.
thats a pretty device.
anyways they've put the future of their smartphone market on WP7, letz c how it goes,
i bet HTC that uses both WP7 n Android OS, makes more profit from the android devices.

letz watch Nokia n c how it goes,
not like i care anymore.
if they make a WP7 device with a front facing qwerty keyboard n gr8 specs, i could be seriously tempted.

Vector released his album in 2010, those songs I listed are from last yr.
Vector is an extremely commercial rapper.
if i want way beta lines i listen to mode9, sdc, redkad.
but Vec knows how to make commercial songs, Get down ft 2face, i love very much.
Music/Radio / Re: Hottest M.c Of 2011 by amblors(m): 11:59am On Jan 22, 2012
haba Vec had plenty songs no b only angeli --

Angeli ft 9ice na tune abeg, guess choices differ,
twas "Mr Vector ft Jazzy" that i didn't really like.

other songs by him last yr :: Na U ft Muno -- correct wedding song b dis
Piaka Piaka ft DomTom --- correct tune

throwing away & We're made didnt cut it for me though.

BTW his video for 'Get Down" ft 2face created buzz for the song in 2011.
