Properties / Re: Is This Quotation For Roofing Ok? by ambrosedmax(m): 8:21am On Jul 08, 2016
jaff247:
Here is the final quotation we got from a builder to lay the roofing wood for a 4 bedroom
house under construction on about a plot of land.
I'm not an expert in this area, let the experts in th house help me out. Is it ok?

1) Facial board 22 pieces @ N1800 each = N39,600
2) 2 X 6 wood 40 pieces @ N1,000 = N40,000
3) 2 X 4 450 pieces @ N500 = N225,000
4) 2 X 3 350 pieces @ 450 = N157,500
5) 5 inches nail 3 bags @ N8,500 = N255,000
6) 4 inches nail 2 bags = N17,000
7) Oja-Agba(3 bundles) @ 1,500 = N4,500
8 ) Labour for carpentry = N160,000
9) Transport = 20,000

Total Cost = N689,100

What I'm more concerned about are the prices of the materials and the specified
quantities.

I have removed the cost of omo onile.
oga this is way too much, well your location matters, I stay in abuja, lugbe to be precised, and I sell woods for roofing, in this line of business carpenters are always out there to kill clients, I mean the merge with suppliers to sell goods below the official figure you were given, if you give ur carpenter that money to go get it, he may end up buying 15 facial-board, so on with the other sliced woods, even in your presence they will always have their tricks, then again, the kind/design of roofing matters again, the best advice is you look for a timber market around u, go without your carpenter, do a survey, everybody in the market will want to sell to you, making them crash prices against that of eachothers. By the time you get home with different list, I believe you'll have your choice to make. Then again, I wish to tell you that woods are of different qualities and types, there is a particular yellowish and black colour type of wood, the igbos call it "APKONTU" yorubas call it "AYIN" and hausa's call it "MEREKE" .. Oga this is the best wood is westafrica for roofing, long life span unlike some red woods.. Another ones which most carpenters buy because of it being cheaper and always easy for them to nail is red-wood and ordinary and common ones. Then for facial boards, obeche plank seems the best, then ora" before iroko... So whatever qualities you want must be your choice,
obeche for f.board = 1400
Ora for f.board =1300
Iroko for f.board = 1200
Then for the woods,
AYIN 2x4 = 400
Red wood 2X4= 350
Ayin 2x3 = 300
Red wood 2x3 = 250
Ayin 2x6 = 600
Red wood 2x6 =550
Then nails 5 inc 8,000
4 inc 8,700 .. Then your transportation is always negotiatable, I must all that your carpenter will always grumble if you decide to go and buy on your own, and may use words like, "this woods are bad" I should have gotten them myself bla bla". I also notice you didn't add 2x2 its always used for nogging for ceiling and pvcs, for those quantities quoted above, your carpenter will always reduce them when he goes to buy them. Trust me. Its too much. I stay in abuja and I've supplied as far as lagos, and environs. You also need to be careful with your site engineers " those guys too though. You call always call for any assistance- 08039351165

Religion / Re: Is This Truly Jesus Christ's Picture? by ambrosedmax(m): 3:01pm On Jun 26, 2016
Scientists use
forensics to discover what
Christ may have looked like, so he may not look what you have above but "may" look like what I have below .
A forensic expert has recreated the face of Jesus
Christ using state-of-the art science.
The resulting face is a far cry from the tall,
Caucasian man with light blonde hair that is usually
show in bibles and stained glass windows
throughout the world.
The features of the 'real' Jesus are typical of Middle
Eastern Jews in the Galilee area of northern Israel.
The striking image was created by Richard Neave, a
retired medical artist from the University of
Manchester, who used forensic anthropology
usually used to solve crimes to build the portrait.
As the co-author of Making Faces: Using Forensic
And Archaeological Evidence, Neave has
reconstructed dozens of famous faces, including
Philip II of Macedonia, the father of Alexander the
Great, and King Midas of Phrygia.
He used the fact that before the Crucifixion, Judas
Iscariot had to tell the soldiers who Jesus was
because they could not tell him apart from his
disciples.
Neave and his research team were provided with
Semite skulls from Israeli archaeologists.
They created X-ray "slices" of the skulls and used
computers to establish the muscles and skin on a
typical Semite skull, reports Esquire.
The team also said Jesus would be bearded and
have short hair - likely with tight curls - in keeping
with Jewish tradition.
Using the average build of a Semite male at the time,
they theorised Jesus would likely have been just over
5ft, and since he worked outdoors as a carpenter
until he was about 30, the scientists reasoned he
would be stronger and more weather-beaten than
usually depicted.

Whether or not the words were improperly
chewed or revealing what we all failed to notice
won't change the fact that in just about a year in
office, Buhari has managed to rack up far more
regrettable utterances than any President we

Where are the bet9ja users? Are these guys gradually turning themselves to 1960bet? I made pay out over 4days now and I haven't bn credited till this moment"" okay I made it to twitter to lay my plight to their reserved handle for customer care, this was the reply I got "kindly note that withdrawal takes 24hours approximately 3 bank working days before your acct is credited.CS" could they be toying with my intelligence by saying "24hours approximately 3 bank working days"? What's that suppose to mean when their site rules says its 24hours,... I called their customer care line, and after several minutes of me paying for them to sing their bet9ja tune to my hearing they picked and one sexy voice was telling me it could be networks fault and she made a statement -"its too much work sir" and it kept me wondering what work could be much b4 she made another excuse claiming its network. But guys sincerely what could be happening?

Technology Market / Coping With The Street Guys At Computer Village by ambrosedmax(m): 11:44am On Feb 25, 2016
Not too long ago, a customer called our office for a particular phone, we gave him a price and on his way here; within computer village o, he saw the same phone with a guy on the street at a cheaper price, feeling smart, he paid. Suddenly, the guy told him he wasn’t selling again and asked for his phone and gave the customer back his money. By the time the customer came to our office he checked the money and discovered that it was paper padded with four 1000 naira notes up and down with the sides carefully crafted to that of bank notes.

So guys, the following are the easiest and simple ways to avoid being scammed in this hard times.

Avoid these set of people saying “u wan buy, u wan sell”; that is those guys on the streets. Even if their phones are way cheaper so one won’t be penny wise pound foolish.
Make sure you always buy from shops.
Make sure before you leave the shop, open the phone and check for all accessories and test for full functionality.
When buying a preowned phone, test every and anything before leaving the shop and ALWAYS collect receipt to avoid police wahala.
Avoid coming to computer village with bulk sum of money there are different bank ATMs within the market.
