Still on the issue with them trying to sort it out. Just praying they will finally agree
justwise: [/b]

I have to do research on this but i have read somewhere some yrs ago that you will need their consent if you want to stay longer than previously agreed. So its important that you sort it out with them before going further.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by Amdan: 10:08am On Oct 03, 2014
That was what was implied in the agreement. However, I assumed sinceam an academic staff in a University in Nigeria and and my employer has agreed I continue, am continuing for further education and not seeking employment in the UK, the agency should allow me continue.

Just wondering if I absolutely require the consent letter to extend my visa and what happens if I dont include it?
justwise: What was the agreement between you and them? Were you supposed to return back to Nigeria after graduation?

@ justwise spikesC and other ogas

I just finished an MSc (sponsored by an agency in Nigeria) and got an offer for PhD (sponsored by the Uni.) to start immediately. I want to extend my visa so I contacted the agency for letter of consent to include in my visa application but they refused. Will not including the consent letter affect my application in any way?

@amda

Yes you can apply for an extension even a day before your current visa expires, if you think that you read something different somewhere please give me the exact section of that new rule so as to verify.

@Justwise @spikeC and all other bosses I dey hail wuna.

I just completed my MSc and asked to proceed for a PhD (which starts today 1st October). The visa I have is for my MSc which is still valid until January 2015. My intention was to return to Nigeria to apply for my new visa for the PhD in December along with my family since I learnt I can apply for a new visa before the current one lapses. But now, I heard there is a new policy which requires students finishing a course and starting a new one to apply for visa within six weeks of start of the new course.

you may wish to refer to the document below particularly paragraphs 350 - 352 on page 57 of 79 and addendum 3 on page 79 of 79 of the document:

Hi,
I have the info from the link and from my understanding, if we are to apply together all at once, we all benefit from the established presence. This is explicit and clear. However, if am to extend my visa in the UK and apply later for my family, it "suggests" that they will benefit from my established presence. This seem ambiguous to me.

Do you know of anyone that has recently used this process and succeeded?

justwise: Read this link from 59 https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/324611/DEP_guidance_07-14.pdf

It answers your questions and more.

Hi MallamYahaya,

I intend applying for visa for myself, my wife and baby. Can you kindly hint me on the necessary documents that I may require? Am asking you because I noticed you applied for your family as well. Your kind help will be much appreciated.
MallamYahaya: That was fast.... I can't imagine that those of us who submitted at VI have to wait for long.

@justwise. The visa fee of N86k+ does it include the fee for TB test or would I pay USD130 for TB separate and N86k+ separate for visa processing? Also, is there a waiver in the visa or TB test fee for dependants e.g. wife, baby etc or are the fees same across board for both student and dependants (whether young or adult)?

Hi,

I want to extend my visa here in the UK and am to show only 2months money for living expenses because I have established presence. After I have applied, I want my family to join me. Will they also show 2months money or 9months money since they are my dependants?
justwise: That is just 3days,

Congratulations!

spikesC: I would advise you extend in the UK first, then send your documents to them to apply.
This is because their visa expiry will be the same as yours.
So if I extend my visa in the UK using established presence, when I apply for my family to join me, will they need to show 2 or 9 months money?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part2 by Amdan: 11:57am On Sep 23, 2014
I just finish my MSc here in the UK and about to start my PhD and want to bring my family along. I already have established presence and want to rely on this when applying for visa. My tuition fee is already covered. The thing is, should I extended my visa here first using the "established presence" then apply for my family to join me later using the same "established presence"? Or go back to Nigeria and apply together with the "established presence" backing? Which approach will require me to show less amount for living expenses?

I intend to apply in abuja. How fast can I expect Teleperformance to process my Visa if I come back and apply together with my family?

EducationRe: 2013/2014 PTDF Scholarships In Nigeria, UK & France by Amdan: 9:30pm On May 31, 2013
abbakacici: Current Affairs

The current affairs comes from angles you may never expect.

As a teaser, try answering the following questions which are drawn from past PTDF tests

Which artist is behind the famous Mona Lisa portrait?

How many times did the Super Falcons win the Female African Nations Cup?

Which state in Nigeria do you find Kastina Ala?

Which Coach led Super Eagles to World Cup 1998?

Which year did Oil prospecting start in Nigeria?

The first commercial deep water oil discovery in Nigeria is….

Third longest river in Africa is ……………..

Did you answer all correctly within 3 mins or less? To help you we have spoken with many past scholars and this is what they think…..

Identify the areas to prepare such as

Sports: Read up world cup history and Nigeria participation. What do you look for? Coaches that led Nigerian team, their captains, what stage of the tournament did Nigeria get to and where was the tournament hosted. Look for key records such as country that have lifted the world cup more etc. Also take note of who FIFA’s president is, where their headquarters is, full meaning of FIFA and any other thing that crosses your mind. Do same for other tournaments. Also, do some research on Olympics and commonwealth games. A quick question which city hosted the last Winter Olympics (If you answered London that will be F9 for you). Don’t forget other major sporting events like tennis e.g all time highest grand slam holder in tennis? how many grand slam event in tennis?

Politics: Nigerias political history and people presently in government. UN and other international orgnaisations (take note of their leaders and where their headquarters are). Number of LG in Nigeria and state creation, noting the govt in power when they were created. Look up key cities in different states in Nigeria and scan through cities in the world and the countries they are (In 2010 PTDF, there was a question: Which country is the city of Timbuktu? Did you answer that?)

Oil and gas: History of oil and gas production in Nigeria. When was oil first exported in Nigeria? (PTDF 2009). whats OML License? what is a marginal field? among others. How many oil export terminals do we have in Nigeria? who are the owners of these terminals? LNG exporting in Nigeria started in…..?who is representing Nigeria in OPEC? Who is OPEC leader? where is OPEC headquarters? when did Nigeria join OPEC? Who is minister of petroleum? and many more…..this will give you a picture of what to expect

Other questions in this section will be drawn from maths and basic english. Simple statistics, quadratic equations, word problems in mathematics etc. Basic english: you code all those “Fill in the blank spaces” kind of questions like “obi — a boy”. We are thinking that JAMB will be a good preparatory for the English and Maths sections. Don’t go hard on that. The questions on this section are quite simple and with good preparation can see you finish it in style.

PTDF will be spending about 8 million naira on you during your stay in UK. So its really hard. You have to work for it, No sentiments!.

We have complete 2010 questions but for very good reasons we are not posting it publicly. To get this questions sent to you by email follow the steps below:

1) Like our page on facebook.

2) Share our Facebook page and invite your friends to like

3) Follow our blog

Drop us a message on Facebook when you meet these criteria and we send you the questions as soon as possible.

We wish you all the luck in your preparations.
