We have received numerous enquiries on the impact of the recently announced reduction in clearing charges.
For the avoidance of doubt, as it relates to most used cars, the reduction would have ZERO impact. More specifically, the reduction for cars is a reduction of the 35% import levy on new and almost new cars (mostly 2018 - 2021), and has no impact on older cars that the generality of Nigerians can afford. This is because import levy is not paid on older cars, as the levy was introduced by the Jonathan Govt to encourage the local manufacturing of cars and other vehicles.
We are monitoring the situation and are hopeful that the Federal Government would roll out genuine initiatives to cushion the rising cost of procuring used cars.

More importantly, our customers proved to be the most interesting and resilient people and we cannot but thank you all for helping us navigate the year and keeping us in business. There were many times we considered closing our doors, particularly in the face of a worsening exchange rate regime, but your constant feedback helped us to keep our goals in focus and for that we thank YOU.
We look forward to serving you even better in 2021.
Bisunique25: Good afternoon house, please I really your advice on a very crucial matter. Hubby and I have only the Nikkah marriage certificate, change of name affidavit and newspaper publication, and our proposed court wedding has been slated for late January next year. The issue now is that, there’s a high probability of us getting an ITA in the next draw which is before the court wedding. Should we use married or common law partner in our profile, as the court marriage certificate is not yet available. Please all suggestions will be highly welcome and appreciated.
Do you have kids? How long have you lived together? That will determine whether you qualify as common law partners
Please any Ontario bound whatapp or telegram groups?
I'm Ontario bound and wouldn't mind contact email/numbers of people ready to leave or already settled in, especially for jobs and house hunting.. I'm in the IT sector, precisely InfoSec/Cybersec and would be traveling by God's Grace Jan/February 2021
We have an Ontario Telegram Group, but strictly for those that have landed.
Insidelifee: Stop looking down on people and their profession especially in this canada,i had to log in to respond to you...honestly i am worth over a million Canadian dollars and yet do call centre jobs,do you know why?i just want to get the Canadian experience and move to my field, its the same thing that applies to so many people u see, when you talk to alot of people doing this job you would find out how rich or educated they are,i know bosses back home in nigeria, branch managers, groupheads etc that are here doing callcentres but do u know what?its temporary they always breakthrough. So out of curiosity when u see a black cleaner again chat with him up and find out his background, who knows you might even be able to find a postion for him in your company....enjoy
Unfortunately, some newcomers surround themselves with folks like that and completely miss their way.
As a newcomer, whatever legal thing your hand finds to do, do it! Stop caring about what people will say... they have been talking since 1901 and will continue to talk. So completely remove them from your settlement equation.
If a basement apartment works best for your plans, stay there. If a studio apartment or shared apartment is your best choice, stick to it. These things are mainly temporary.
Godisincontrol: I work "survival job" full time and hustle instacart when I am free . I am not where I want to be but I am striving to get there and while it may take a while, we only pray for God's grace which is more than sufficient as well as his guidance and we shall surmount all hurdles.
As a form of encouragement and not trying to brag, attached is a screenshot of my most recent pay slip and amount made so far as well as my instacart earnings (some people doing "office work" didn't make that sum), yet we de do "survival job" abi na any work.
$64k year to date is no longer a survival job. You are actually doing very well by Canadian standards so keep it up.
Many people get distracted by thoughts of what 'people will say,' but winners like you have already charted their path to the top and remain focused on it. Keep at it and keep taking those steps towards your professional career.
jamoyakz: bro you have worked hard to build your image over the past months and over a year. I think your explanation is not enough, the complainant didn't only complain only of scratches in the car rather also the engine, ac and other components of the car. I honestly hope that there was a mistake somewhere and it should be rectified soonest because I remember sticking my head out for you when that lady from Anambra gave a very bad review of the car she got from you. also it will make a whole lot of sense to see pictures of the car when it arrived Nigeria shores.
We appreciate your support.
The truth is that there are lots of things that could have happened between Lagos and the client’s location deep in the South South as the car has been on the road in Nigeria for over a month.
However, our complaint resolution process does not include blame passing or trying to win an argument with the customer. Our objective is to work with him to resolve the issue at hand. We were already discussing this privately before he came here and are still discussing it, and we expect that the issues will be resolved.
erictoonice: My experience, I know some people would have had a good experience with amdman but mine was terrible. I have bought several cars but the one he bought for me was just a scrap. The body was dead, panel beater had to work on the car, it's like a car worked on by a bad body work man with two tones of same color with the front being another color and back another color. the engine bay is all rusted. had to spray. I had to change the back shocks and the legs were squeaky. AC not working I spent over 240k on a tokumbo car. Driver he recommended drove the car from lagos go my location after changing oil, when the car got here, I checked the engine oil the next morning and discovered the oil short and was at the minimum dot, then I filled it up. I actually got the car for my wife. Fast forward one week I had to travel for three weeks and in two weeks time they called me engine knocked against my wife on the road, when the mechanic checked it, not a drop of oil was in the engine, how possible is that for a new car. I regretted my life. The said car is a 2008 mitsubishi outlander. I'll advise anyone buying a car like this it's not worth it, the wait (I waited 5months after payment) and expense, even the price difference isn't much it's even same on many cars here in Nigeria. If I had bought this car in person with my own inspection I'll never make such mistake. Learn from my plight!!!
Thank you for your feedback. We do appreciate that you chose us to help with your car purchase. We put in a lot of work to ensure that the car we get for you meets your purpose, and it is very distressing for us when issues such as these arise.
However, is it correct that the body was dead? We don't think so. Below is the Youtube link to your car:
While it is possible that scratches may occur during shipment (as the vehicle was shipped in a container), we do not think that happened in your case as your car was the last car in the container and reasonably protected. Nevertheless, the car is not brand new, so fair wear and tear is expected.
We apologize for the experience and will continue to provide support to resolve the issues you are having.
